Read about the expectations and how they were developed by our team on our technical blog. \n\n\nWhat you'll be doing\n\n\n* Writing clean, well thought out and reliable code\n\n* Participating as a member of a small cross functional team containing members with different skills and experience\n\n* You'll work on big projects, small maintenance tasks, server management tasks and anything else that makes software our customers love\n\n* Taking lots of responsibility for your work as most teams don't have analysts, testers or system administrators\n\n* Taking part in our 24/7 on call rotation supporting one of the biggest web sites in the world\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n\n* Be a nice person who cares about their work\n\n* Communicate well in person and in writing\n\n* Be a curious person committed to continual learning\n\n* Be capable of writing clean, well thought out, and reliable code\n\n* Be comfortable working on a project from the original fuzzy brief through development and deployment and beyond with minimal oversight required\n\n* Be comfortable in a Linux software development and deployment environment\n\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Requirements\n\n\n* Have commercial Ruby on Rails experience\n\n* Have solid TDD/BDD experience\n\n* Have experience of other high volume/scale web apps\n\n* Contribute to Open Source projects\n\n* Past experience in other agile environments\n\n* Excellent Linux knowledge\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat We've Got\n\nA Great Team and Culture\n\n\n* Developers are responsible for features from inception through to them being in the hands of customers.
