\nJoin the team that is transforming music technology\n\nMakeMusic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Back-End Billing Systems.\n\nSmartMusic is award-winning interactive music software that provides a deliberate practice environment for students in band, orchestra, and choir. With a subscription to SmartMusic, students have unlimited access to the world’s largest accompaniment library for all ages and skill levels, which includes thousands of pieces of music.\n\nThe MakeMusic Web Team is responsible for creating public and private facing infrastructure and functionality. We strive to enable music teachers and students to connect in our applications and rapidly improve their knowledge and skill. To do so, we are working to continuously expand our end-to-end platform of: account management, subscription, content creation toolset, and financial processing systems into a seamless experience.\n\nAs a developer on this team, you will primarily focus on the back-end billing infrastructure within our systems. From subscription management and payment gateway integration, RevRec automation (NetSuite), to custom financial reporting tools (internal and external) and more; you will take ownership of the detail-focused financial aspect of the team’s responsibilities.\n\nYou will work within our entire back-end stack, including AWS infrastructure, MS SQL, Redis and external systems using C#, ASP.NET WebAPI and other technologies. Third party financial providers include Avalara, Braintree, and NetSuite.\n\nLastly, we look to you to join (and potentially lead) a company-wide Community of Practice focused on back-end billing systems that crosses lines of business. In the long term, you will have the opportunity to refactor and abstract MakeMusic’s systems into modules that are reusable and shareable across other lines of business, existing or new.
