\n We are looking for a full stack web developer or someone who wants to evolve into a full stack web developer to help us accommodate our steady growth. We have a mature, market leading web application and we ship new code regularly. All of our developers engage in a blend of direct customer support, bug fixing, and new feature development. This position will have the occasional day where all you do is fix bugs or answer customer support emails. That said, our focus is to challenge your creativity and help grow your skill set because we want you to be with us for many years.\n\n Our development process is agile. We expect developers to write specs and cucumber scenarios. We use wireframes, prototypes, and handwriting as much as possible. We consider BDUF a four-letter word. We do not micromanage and at times it will be up to you to choose work items and make sure they get done. If you need someone else to keep you busy then this position will not be a good fit.\n\n Our primary systems use Ruby on Rails, Backbone.js (Coffeescript), Node.js, and Postgres. We are willing to help you catch up to our understanding of these technologies but you need to demonstrate an understanding of OO development, an awareness of web scale performance problems and solutions, and general creative problem solving ability during the application process. You must also be able to use git -- GUI tools are fine. Our developers use git every day and you will need to be able to clone, branch, merge, resolve conflicts, and commit on day one. \n\n If you have made any open source contributions, delivered any dev conference talks, or worked on any publicly available web sites please share those with us and describe your contribution. We are also interested if you have experience in a few other areas such as cross-browser user interface design, statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, devops, and software security. A college degree is not mandatory but we do care that you can set multi-year goals and achieve them.\n\n We are based in Phoenix, Arizona but are willing to consider remote candidates as long as you are frequently online between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. AZ Time (-0700) during the workweek. We are willing to have you join us as a contractor or an employee depending on your availability and preference. Compensation and benefits are negotiable and based on your experience and skillset. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
