AHM is a privately held company currently comprised of:\n\n\n* Leading online, subscription-based continuing education companies in several allied health professions:\n\n\n* AudiologyOnline\n\n* SpeechPathology.com\n\n* PhysicalTherapy.com\n\n* OccupationalTherapy.com\n\n\n\n\n\n* A leading website services company creating, hosting, and managing websites for small businesses in the hearing healthcare industry - AudiologyDesign.com.\n\n\n\n\n\nOverview: The CTO will work with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources. The mission of this position is to ensure the companies are continually secure, stable and scalable. This requires envisioning the company’s service offerings as a web-based business, leading implementation of web applications, and planning for risk and growth. Using an active and practical approach, the CTO will direct all IT team members to attain the company’s strategic goals. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is a virtual, work-from-home position.\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Establish each company’s technical vision and strategy. Lead all aspects of each company’s technological development. Direct each company’s strategy, development and future growth as it relates to technology.\n\n* Work in a consultative fashion with company leaders as an advisor of technologies that may improve efficiency and effectiveness.\n\n* In partnership with Executive Management, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success.\n\n* Conduct research and case studies on leading edge technologies and make determinations on the probability of implementation. Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering the company’s services.\n\n* Develop and lead IT initiatives in support of the strategic plan to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services.\n\n* Establish governance processes to ensure that IT objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and resources used responsibly.\n\n* Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of each company’s data and servers.\n\n* Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.\n\n* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices and ensure technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.\n\n* Act as a good steward of company resources and ensure control of IT budgets.\n\n* Define and communicate company values and standards for acquiring or developing systems, equipment, or software within the company.\n\n* Supervise recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all IT development staff in accordance with the company hiring process, internal policies, and budget requirements.\n\n\n\n\nEducation and Experience\n\n\n* BS in related field and at least 15 years of experience in the Information Technology arena including 10+ years of management and strategic experience in IT; or MBA/MS in related field with 10+ years of experience in the Information Technology arena, including 7+ years of management and strategic experience in IT.\n\n* Proven achievements in strategic planning at the Executive level, aligning technology with business objectives.\n\n* Demonstrated experience with designing and developing complex internet-based solutions, assessing and evaluating alternative solutions, plus experience in building scalable software solutions.\n\n* Experience with a large scale online business - preferably online, subscription-based services.\n\n* Demonstrated experience in selecting and managing external vendors.\n\n* Strong technical background within various fields of Information Technology, ideally in web development using PHP, information security, risk management.\n\n* Management level experience with business theory, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations.\n\n* Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments industry compliance requirements.\n\n* Knowledge of information and technology security management technologies, methods, standards, best practices, and processes as well as knowledge of compliance, legal, internal/external audit and regulatory requirements.\n\n\n\n\nSkills and Abilities\n\n\n* Passion for creating lean, target-oriented IT systems.\n\n* Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.\n\n* Excellent problem-solving skills and a 'can do' attitude.\n\n* Exceptional interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.\n\n* Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.\n\n* Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff.\n\n* Enthusiasm and ability to mentor less experienced team members.\n\n* Strong writing and presentation skills.\n\n* Ability to travel both within the US and Internationally when needed. \n\n\n\n\nTo Apply:\n\nWe value attention to detail.
