\nOur Software Engineering Düsseldorf (DSE) team is looking for an Incident Manager who can ensure that we build the right processes to prevent and, where appropriate, manage incidents. You’ll work side-by-side with engineers to manage the investigation of reported incidents to swift and solid closure. You’ll also design the organization and processes for incident management while maintaining a culture of trust, respect and collaboration.\n\n\nYour responsibilities:\n\n\n* Be the incident prevention and response function for the Düsseldorf engineering teams. Incidents may occur at any time and will require a swift response so the role will involve on-call duty.\n\n* Ensure that all incidents are tracked, investigated, resolved and communicated accurately. You will also ensure that post-mortems are captured and that universal lessons learned are shared across the organization.\n\n* Build the processes, tools, and support structures to mitigate any risks related to stability and performance.\n\n* Influence product, process, and related policy decisions to prevent incidents.\n\n* Define metrics and track application performance, continuously drive solutions to improve resolution time frames and reduce the frequency of occurrence/severity.\n\n\n\n\nThe ideal candidate:\n\n\n* Holds a BA or BSc in Computer Science or has equivalent practical experience.\n\n* Has experience running mission-critical programs in large, technical environments.\n\n* Has 2 years’ experience in operations management in a high-tech environment.\n\n* Has hands-on experience with system architecture and design, technical troubleshooting, security and privacy standards.\n\n* Has influenced engineering and product management teams to improve product features, QA processes and/or the maintenance of a product by identifying problems and suggesting and/or driving the implementation of fixes or features\n\n* Can manage complex and/or cross-functional projects and apply their skills in a data-driven environment.\n\n* Has exceptional internal communications skills and is fluent in technical and non-technical business contexts.\n\n* Speaks English fluently. German is a big plus.\n\n\n\n\n\n Life at trivago:\n\ntrivago is an exciting hub of multicultural activity where nationalities from all around the world come to share their knowledge and work together on redefining the travelling experience for millions of people. We nurture all our talents and provide them with the support they need to develop professionally as well as personally. We encourage fanatic learning through regular code workshops, Hackathons and constant feedback as well as promoting quick decision making in keeping with our trial and error philosophy. Flexible working hours are in place to create a trusting environment where productivity is measured through goals rather than hours spent in the office. For our internationals, we help with relocation and provide language classes for those wanting to learn and practise their German.\n Join us at trivago – a place where talented minds meet, crazy ideas are shared and innovation is born.\n\n\n Additional information:\n\n\n* Please note that your CV and motivation letter must be written in English.\n\n\n\n\n\n Apply online: \n\nhttp://www.trivago.com.au/jobs/details/1195-incident-manager?cip=99060001013355\n \n Please note we only process applications via this URL.
