Overview:\nAre you excited about data architecture? We have a job for that! Weโre looking for a Data Architect to guide our incremental migration to a scalable architectural vision. Aledade currently has the happy problem of needing to rapidly scale up our ingestion, mapping, modeling, and processing infrastructure and we need you to help guide these efforts.\n\nThis position requires working tightly with internal customers to align technology with business needs. Prepare to tackle complicated problems with simple generalized solutions. Data architects at Aledade are boots on the ground, conceptualizing, diagramming, and implementing and testing solutions.\n\nUnder the direction of, and in collaboration with, a Director of Engineering, the Data Architect is responsible for designing, documenting, and demonstrating the technology systems supporting Aledadeโs product.ย \n\nResponsibilities:\nโ Developing Technical Architecture: The data architect is responsible for proactively identifying and prioritizing opportunities for architecture. These might be bottlenecks in the current system, or bottlenecks seen coming in the future. They are responsible for using their experience and knowledge to design, test, and evaluate systems to mitigate these bottlenecks. Ultimately, theyโll be judged on the delivery and adoption of stable, secure, scalable systems that accelerate the engineering teamโs pace.ย \nโ Teaching and Learning: The Data Architect stays abreast of developments in technology, develops a deep understanding of Aledadeโs business space, and synthesizes the two. They are also responsible for educating the team about current architecture, through working code, documentation, and presentations.\nโ Role Models Our Culture: Service, Accountability, Inclusion, Evidence, and Curiosityย \n\nRequirements:\nSkills and Knowledge:\nโ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences.\nโ Strong understanding of the current state of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, security, and networking.\nโ Experience leading in an agile software development environment.\nโ Excellent time management skills, ability to execute and guide a teamโs direction over a period of months.\nโ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nโ Experience developing and scaling enterprise-grade data ingress, egress, processing, and interface systems.\nExperience\nโ 7+ years of programming experience or 5+ with a masterโs degree.\nโPreference for a bachelorโs or masterโs degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.\nโ 4+ years of experience developing and scaling enterprise-grade data systems as a full-stack engineer or system architect.\nโ Conversant with at least one in-memory data store system.\nโ Conversant with at least one columnar store data system.\nโ Fluency with at least one relational database system.ย \nโ Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.ย \nโ Back-end technology preference for core modern Python.\nโ Itertools, functools, unittest, type hinting\nโ Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration.\nโ 4+ years of experience acting as a trusted โgo-toโ person for technical decision-making and project architecture in a team of 3 or more engineers.\n\nPersonality Traits:\nโ Service: You care about people and society.
