CitizenLab is looking for purpose-driven talent to join us on our mission to have +2.5 million citizens make their voice heard via its e-democracy platforms in cities across the globe.\n\n**QA Engineer at CitizenLab**\n\nAs a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at CitizenLab, your main goal is to design testing procedures to ensure a high bar for quality for our products. You will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of applications, designing automated tests to validate their performance, and identifying and triaging bugs in the product. You will be a member of the horizontal Platform squad, yet working closely together with the functional Engagement, Insights, and Workshop squads.ย \n\nย Your responsibilities will include:\n\n* Designing detailed **test plans and test cases**, and running the tests.\n\n* Developing and running **automated testing scripts**.\n\n* Identifying quality issues and creating **test reports**.\n\n* Triaging, verifying, documenting, and tracking **bug reports**.\n\n* Performing **regression testing** when bugs are resolved.\n\n* Writing automation scripts to **ease technical support** activities.ย \n\n* Collaborating with the product managers and engineers of different squads on **functional requirements and technical specs**.ย \n\nAt CitizenLab, we work in small teams where members collectively take ownership of the outcome of the features they build. We work in very small iterations and release continuously. Weโre strong believers in user testing and understanding live product usage.\n\n**What do we expect from you?**\n\n* Previous experience working as a **QA engineer** in software development, preferably in a tech scale-up environment.\n\n* **Programming skills** to write automation scripts, and a solid understanding of web technology.ย ย \n\n* Strong experience in **automated (performance) testing** as well as **manual product testing**. Familiarity with **testing tools**, e.g. cypress, testcafe, selenium, jest, nightwatch, protractor, browserstack.\n\n* **Attention to detail** and the ability to isolate and **thoroughly describe problems** in bug reports to other engineers.\n\n* Strong written and verbal **communication** skills as well as **project management** skills for effective collaboration.ย \n\nEagerness to learn, talent, and enthusiasm are more important than ticking the boxes though.
