\nThe Brave New Software Project seeks an experienced devops engineer to help fight censorship around the world.\n\nYou would help maintain and expand the cloud-based infrastructure behind the Lantern suite of anti-censorship, cryptocurrency and peer to peer networking applications. Experience with Linux/UNIX administration, Python and SaltStack or other configuration management tools (such as Ansible) strongly preferred, experience with network configuration and operations, systems and performance monitoring and logging (like Prometheus, Stackdriver, Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, etc), cloud VPS providers like AWS, Digital Ocean and Vultr, and Go programming experience are a plus. Experience with Go and Heroku are also a plus.\n\nTeam Lantern is a small, agile team that works to keep the Internet open to people all over the world. Our structure is flat, all engineers report to the CTO, and we develop our products through collaboration and consensus rather than decree. Although each of us focuses on some specific areas, we wear many hats, need to be able to jump in on a variety of things and tend to move around between focus areas over time, so flexibility and curiosity are key.\n\nWe operate thousands of servers all over the world, millions of people use the stuff that we build, we work on our own schedules and take vacations seriously. Because of what we do, we face well funded adversaries who constantly adapt in their quest to break our software and the internet itself. We counter that threat by collaborating with interesting people from the internet freedom and open source communities to incorporate, refine and pioneer the latest countermeasures.\n\nIf you’re excited to tackle thorny social problems with software, or if you’re just an experienced engineer who thinks they might be ready to tackle a new kind of challenge, we want to hear from you.\n\nBrave New Software provides equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.\n\nWe are committed to building a diverse staff and strongly encourage applications from candidates who may be people of color, disabled, gender and sexual minorities, and other disadvantaged backgrounds.\n\nHelpful Buzzwords\n\nLinux, UNIX Saltstack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform Python, Go, Clojure, Rust Amazon Web Services (AWS), Digital Ocean, Vultr Redis Prometheus, Stackdriver, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry Networking and network programming (HTTP, SSL/TLS, TCP/UDP, Internet Protocol, DNS, BGP, IPSec, Wireguard, VPN protocols) \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
