**Description**\n\nOP.GG is looking to incorporate an experienced Back-end Engineer to work on the development of the Fortnite site within the OP.GG platform for gamers around the world. You will participate in the full development lifecycle, including the research of new trends and website features, Debugging, correcting, and updating errors in the front-end and back-end systems on our Fortnite page. \n\n\nPlease apply if you are this type of individual:\n\n1. You think that the current website fortnite.op.gg is not good enough and should be improved to better serve the ever-growing Fortnite player base. You are always analyzing from both the developer and the gamer’s point of view.\n2. You are always thinking about new ideas of features, and you think you have confidence to DEFINITELY improve the current op.gg platform.\n3. You can have the big confidence and passion to develop a website with content about games you care about and are playing\n\n\n**Requirement**\n\n* Must have 5+ years of experience in a similar position\n* JAVA with Spring or Spring Boot (JPA, MyBatis, Maven/Gradle)\n* Ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment\n* Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team while working independently in a remote work environment\n* Must be a user of OP.GG\n* Must have a Github address to show us your work\n* Must love and enjoy playing Fortnite, and stay up to date with all new patches in Fortnite to provide useful information for the Fortnite players using op.gg\n\n\n**Nice to haves**\n\n* Experience in full-stack development\n* Have skills and expertise in rdb(MySQL, MariaDB), MongoDB, Docker, docker-compose, k8s, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, API platform, and SDK\n* Experience or knowledge in front-end development\n* Knowledge of the game industry and esports\n* Experience working in a remote setting\n\nIf you feel you are a qualified candidate and want to join us, please submit your cover letter and resume. \nWe're looking for a part-time Java/Spring Technical Editor to work with new authors.\n\nYou'll be reviewing articles and providing technical feedback (in video form - usually a short, 5-minute screencast is enough).\n\nBudget and Time Commitment\n\nYou're going to be working with 6-7 authors to help them with their articles.\n\nAn article usually takes about two rounds of review until it's ready to go. All of this usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes of work for a small to a medium article and can take 60 minutes for larger writeups.\n\nOverall, you'll spend somewhere around 10 hours/month.\n\nThe budget for the position is 600$ / month. \n\nNote that this is the starting level in the budget. Then, based on your metrics – there are 3 other levels internally.\n\nAdditional Details\n\nThe goal is to make sure that the article hits a high level of quality before it gets published. That means that the code examples should be runnable and correct and that the formatting and style match the guidelines of the site.\n\nBeyond formatting and style, articles should be code-focused, clean, and easy to understand. Sometimes an article is almost there, but not quite – and the author needs to be guided towards a better solution or a better way of explaining some technical concept.\n\nWho is the right candidate?\n\nFirst – you need to be a developer yourself, working or actively involved in the Java and Spring ecosystem. All of these articles are code-centric, so being in the trenches and able to code is instrumental.\n\nSecond – and it almost goes without saying – you should have a good command of the English language.

\nWe probably shouldn't tell you this, but practically the entire wine industry's eCommerce systems run on ColdFusion.  Let that sink in for a moment.  You can practically hear the Sarah McClachlan music and see the sad puppies.\n\nSomebody has to rescue the wine industry and that person will be you.  You'll lead a brand new team to rebuild our wine industry technology from the ground up.  In the process you'll help fuse our wine technology with our restaurant point-of-sale systems - because it turns out, a lot of wineries have restaurants.  They're great for date nights.\n\nYou'll work with other teams in our restaurant software division to create a modular architecture that we can all share.  It'll be microservice-ish, but not full blown because wine is a niche industry without the scale and team size of most microservice adopters.  This process is already underway in the restaurant division and the tech stack is Spring Boot, Couchbase, Rabbit MQ, and Elastic Search with Angular 2 on the front end.  You can live with that.\n\nYou'll lead a small team of engineers as they modernize the old ColdFusion tech stack.  You'll be expected to be a hands on coder, particularly on the back end, leading by example.  You'll deal with a minimum of corporate nonsense and get the freedom to do things right.\n\nAnd you'll do all this from the comfort of your own home.  This is a remote position, but you'll keep in touch with your team with daily virtual standups.  We'll pick a spot on the map every so often and get together for a technical conference or in person design confab.  And yes, there will probably be free wine and excuses to take your main squeeze on a trip to Napa Valley.  Tying a sweater around your neck for the duration is optional.
