The Deutsche Streaming Allianz GmbH (DSA) builds and operates streaming solutions in the areas of sports, TV and events. We may be a young start-up, but the two founders Radek and Pavel combine decades of experience in the streaming business. We are seeking highly skilled developers with exceptional problem-solving abilities to join our international team. Ideal candidates will possess strong debugging skills across a variety of platforms and languages, including React, React Native, Kotlin, Java, Swift, and TypeScript. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our SaaS product, ensuring high-quality, bug-free software. We are an international and interdisciplinary team where you will be involved in the implementation of our frontend applications based on React and React Native.
Our applications run on web, iOS, iOS TV, Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung/Tizen and LG. You customize them for our clients, keeping in mind that we are moving further towards SaaS.ย
Our products are sometimes heavily used, so you make sure that the quality and functionality of the application meets the requirements.ย
We are a small team, so you will be in direct contact with our customers to find and implement the best possible solution together.
We work internationally and therefore 100% remotely. But we are happy to provide you with a co-working space in your area if you wish.ย

The front-end engineer plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between product design and engineering teams at Bonfire. This role combines the expertise of a front-end engineer with a solid understanding of UX and design principles.
Their primary focus revolves around developing and maintaining UI components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript. Their ultimate aim is to bridge the gap between the design system crafted in digital design tools like Figma and the actual UI components utilized by both frontend and backend engineers. Collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and product managers, they contribute to defining and delivering new features, translating concepts into interactive prototypes, and refining interactions, animations, and finer details to craft a delightful user experience. Additionally, they assist in executing experiments using AB testing tools.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to:
Build out UI components for new features & improvements utilizing semantic and accessible HTML, CSS & Javascript
Maintain & scale the design system components & style guide in Angular/HTML/CSS
Promote the value & adoption of the design system throughout the organization
Collaborate with product designers to ensure a proper design system implementation in code
Develop & launch experiments written in frontend technologies using tools for AB testing
Participate in daily standups, planing, refinement and retrospective meetings
Participate in engineering & design meetings
Perform code tests & collaborate with QA during testing and debugging of new features & improvements
Liaise with other members of the engineering team to seek improvements to Bonfireโs codebase
Ensure that Bonfireโs front end UI components match accessibility best practices as defined in WCAG
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficient in written & spoken English
Proficient in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
Responsive web design โ implement websites to adapt to a userโs device
Experience with CSS pre-processing tools
Knowledge of AngularJs and Angular 2+
Understands UX design patterns and principles
Familiarity with product development
Familiar with semantic markup and W3C accessibility guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years experience in front end development (required)
1+ years working within an agile software development framework (required)
Experience implementing a design system for a digital product built using Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, etc. (required)
Experience in UI, UX, or Product Design
Prototype interactive flows based on mockups in digital design software like Figma
Familiar with Java

Responsibilities
Code, Test, Review, Deploy, and Document.
Integrate our global Payment Platform with different payment gateways (e.g. Stripe) to address local market needs.

Requirements
HARD SKILLS
Experience with Django, in particular:
Django is a Python-based framework, so a solid understanding of Python is crucial. This includes understanding Python's data structures, control flow, and coding conventions.
You'll need to be comfortable with the Django framework itself. This includes understanding Django's Object-Relational Mapping (ORM), Models, Views, Templates, Middleware, and RESTful architecture.
When you are creating APIs, knowledge of the Django REST Framework (DRF) will be necessary.
Django works with various databases (like MySQL). You should understand how to design databases, create efficient queries, and use Django's database API. Accordingly, the knowledge of the SQL language is required.
Understanding the basics of HTTP, client-server, MVC and MVT architectures, and web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential.
Experience in React, in particular:
React is a JavaScript library, so strong JavaScript skills are a must. You should be familiar with ES6 or later features like classes, arrow functions, promises, async/await, destructuring, and import/export modules.
You'll need to master the fundamentals of React, including routings, components, props, state, hooks, and the component lifecycle.
JSX is a syntax extension for JavaScript that is used in React to write the UI. It's a mix of JavaScript and HTML and is a fundamental part of writing React components. Accordingly, you must be comfortable with it.
Understanding of REST APIs.
Understanding an managing CSS Preprocessors (like for example SASS or LESS).
Knowing how to manage versions of your code with Git and comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process (testing process included).
Understanding of network and application security with a deep understanding of all layers involved in web communications.
Understanding of how to manage the testing process, like example Jest for unit testing.
SOFT SKILLS
Experience working in Google Cloud environments, particularly with Google Cloud Compute Engine and BigQuery, is much useful.
Knowledge of PHP is useful.
Good knowledge of Linux (Redhat/CentOS). The ability to manage Linux VMs (Virtual Machines) in the cloud environment is also useful.
Basic Bash scripting skills are useful.
Experience in working with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platforms. Experience with Marketo and/or Salesforce is a big plus.
Experience working at large-scale web applications is a plus.
Experience at startups or web-based companies is a plus.
