No matter the size or experience, we want to power every merchant’s experience. This is why we are all here.\n\n**Job Description**\n\nAt Shopify, Senior Staff Engineers use their expertise and passion to multiply the overall output of their development team. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you’ll help drive the product vision to its implementation. Based on your experience and interests, let us know which one you identify with most in your application!

**\n\n**Back End Development**\n\nBack End Engineers with a passion for solving tough problems with performant code work on teams that ship on quality instead of on time. Our teams deploy new code many times a day, and our production scale is massive. We’re talking over 1 million online stores, and hundreds of millions of requests a day. Thousands of entrepreneurs will see your work within seconds – a difficult but incredibly rewarding responsibility. Shopify is the largest Ruby on Rails application in the world and we're a big part of the Rails community. We’re constantly improving our codebase to make it even better.\n\n**Mobile Development (React Native, Android & iOS)**\n\nOur Mobile Engineers work along with designers and product managers to build and launch new features for our apps. You’ll work on large-scale apps that are ever-changing, enabling entrepreneurship for hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs. Our Android engineers use Kotlin and our iOS engineers use Swift. Our teams are increasingly working with React Native so openness to cross-platform mobile development is a plus! \n\n**Front End Development**\n\nOur Front End Engineers collaborate closely with software engineering teams, designers, product managers, and marketers to not only build incredible merchant-facing products and marketing campaigns, but also engineer-facing tools. You’ll use the latest web standards in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and modern technologies and frameworks like Typescript, React, GraphQL, Apollo and Ruby on Rails, to develop large front-end web applications and websites that scale and perform well on all devices. You’ll work across disciplines and are excited about building human-centered experiences. Front End Development exists across all of Shopify, from Product to Marketing, working closely with the teams that create performant experiences and communicate Shopify’s impact on commerce to a global audience. You may also collaborate with our Data and SEO teams, helping us make data informed decisions and driving additional new merchant acquisition. You might focus on creating thoughtful interfaces for our users, shaping our design language, and contributing to our shared component libraries in a maintainable and scalable way.\n\n**Qualifications\nWhat you’ll do as a Senior Staff Engineer at Shopify:**\n\n* Learn and grow constantly to feed your passion for self-improvement and make those around you better\n* Design and build highly available, resilient and scalable platform primitives & API\n* Work through problems with your team, roll up your sleeves, form an opinion and advocate for engineering-specific roadmap items\n* Collaborate with other Shopify leaders, executives and external partners to provide the best commerce experience for our merchants\n\n**Experience and skills that are important for success in this role:**\n\n* A proven track record of strong technical mentorship\n* Experience building large scale, high throughput distributed systems and scaling web services, particularly those using and analyzing large amounts of data\n* A passion for efficiency and collaboration, with a history of establishing great relationships with UX and Product Management teams across time zones\n* A commitment and drive for quality, technical excellence and results\n* Curiosity and passion to constantly learn new things; Shopify changes fast, and we need the people who work here to be able to change and learn fast too\n* Proficiency in systems thinking and systems design concepts like transactions, atomicity, idempotency, etc.\n* Raise the quality and speed (team efficiency) bar and move the platform into a position of maximum leverage\n* Use the right tool for the job, fix problems are the right level of abstraction and optimize to meet both functional and non-functional goals\n\n**Additional information**\n\nWe know that looking for a new role can be both exciting and time-consuming, and we truly appreciate your effort. Jane is an actual real live person (👋🏻) and is looking forward to learning more about you through your application. And remember, we want to know what you're really interested in building and why you want to build it at Shopify, so please give us as much detail on this as you'd like in the answers on the next page. 👍 📖\n\nAt Shopify, we are committed to building and fostering an environment where our employees feel included, valued, and heard. Our belief is that a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion enables us to truly make commerce better for everyone. We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, racialized people, people with disabilities, people from gender and sexually diverse communities and/or people with intersectional identities. Shopify is now permanently remote and working towards a future that is digital by default. Triplebyte ([https://triplebyte.com/press](https://triplebyte.com/press?ref=remoteok)) is looking for iOS and Android engineers to do remote, part-time work with us, as Triplebyte technical interviewers. This is a great opportunity for highly skilled software engineers to do well-paid, flexible work, on your own schedule.\n\nTriplebyte's mission is to help engineers find great jobs by assessing their abilities without relying on the prestige of their resume credentials. Part of our evaluation process for our candidates is a technical interview, where engineers demonstrate a variety of skills and abilities. We're looking for people to help us administer those interviews. We'll pay $200 per two-hour technical interview.\n\n## Responsibilities\n\nOur interviewer team is responsible for conducting technical interviews with candidates who pass our online quiz. Each interview is around two hours long, and interviewers are allowed to set their own availability. Triplebyte will fill your schedule for you, so all you need to focus on is providing a good experience for and accurately assessing each candidate. Once you've finished grading an interview, you've finished -- no remaining to-do tasks.\n\n## Requirements\n\nThis role is a best fit for solid engineers with deep knowledge and skill in many different areas. \nCopia Wealth Studios is looking for iOS developers to tackle the radical transformation underway in the finance space. We have four core values that we believe make the ideal teammate:\n\n\n* Be Humble.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Be Humane.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Be Hungry.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Be Holistic.\n\n\n\n\nOur first Product is a financial intelligence platform designed to help high net worth individuals (think business owners, family offices, entrepreneurs, and athletes) manage their investments. Our 'Patrons' track everything from art to crypto to real estate and business assets. \n\nThe team comprises veterans who have been shipping products for decades; we've been designing and developing native iOS apps since the dawn of the iOS SDK. We've already unlocked early product-market fit, we're fully funded, and we have plenty of runway to match our ambitions. \n\nWe don't believe in code tests, but if you're interested in helping us build the future of finance, send a few samples of your work: GitHub, radars on Open Radar, or something else that represents work you’re proud of.\n\nAbout You: \n\nYou love solving challenging problems and building robust features within cross-functional teams. You want opportunities to shape best practices, challenge product assumptions, and ship world-class software.\n\nRegarding Culture: \n\n\n* You're someone who wants to make a direct impact on the Product.\n\n* You value having an equity stake in the Company.\n\n* You have a good sense of humor and believe culture matters.\n\n* You value autonomy and appreciate real flow state time.\n\n* You love learning and want to be on a team that will challenge you and gives you the freedom to grow.\n\n* You care deeply about delighting users and want to work on a team that strives for pixel perfection.\n\n\n\n\nRegarding Tech:\n\n\n* You have interest or experience in SwiftUI.\n\n* You have interest or experience in GraphQL.\n\n* You have an interest in functional programming.\n\n* You have an interest or experience in finance.\n\n* Bonus points for experience with "The Composable Architecture” (https://www.pointfree.co)\n\n\n\n\nYour Qualifications: \n\n\n* Solid front-end development chops. And a track record of bringing shipping energy.\n\n* Worked on multi-discipline product teams before, either on the enterprise or consumer side.\n\n* Recognize communication is king. We won't need you to present reports or talk to investors, but you will be expected to communicate daily with the team, express concerns, and collaborate on problems. \n\n* Open to sharing. We want to see your ideas, and we want you to contribute to ours. We value strong opinions, weakly held. \n\n* Resilient & adaptable. You understand that building products can be messy and that agility is necessary. \n\n* Knowledge of Continuous Integration / Deployment. Collaboration matters!\n\n* Fluency in Git flows. Who doesn’t love a good PR?\n\n* Experience working within agile environments. The market is moving fast.\n\n\n

\nWho we are\n\nNeybox is a super small profitable company. We build mobile applications for iOS that have a positive impact on the health and well-being of millions of individuals worldwide. Our name is bit weird, we know.\n\nWorking at Neybox is really simple. You won’t have to deal any type of arcane corporate hierarchy and byzantine bureaucratic rules. We’re just a small team working closely together, with very specific roles, trying to create something great while enjoying ourselves in the process. Everyone is either an engineer or a technically adept designer so you won’t have to “translate” anything.\n\nWho we're looking for\n\nWe’re looking for someone that will enjoy being involved and being a key part in every step of the process of creating and evolving a great product. From the deep inner workings of the application’s backend architecture and scaling to polishing the animations of the UI and working with our support team to diagnose an issue that a user is having.\n\nOur scale allows everyone to be equally involved and have a clear view of the big picture. We’re always open to challenging problems, suggestions, crazy ideas, experiments, new methodologies and heated debates about editor preferences. We don’t have an endless list of projects that won’t let you focus. We won’t bore you with a single never-ending subtask of a subtask. Meetings and interruptions are always kept at a minimum. \n\nA day at Neybox\n\nAt the start of the day we do a very quick gathering to catch up with our on-going tasks, prioritise anything new and update our estimates. Right after that you will be working either alone or with a member of the team developing new features, squashing bugs, prototyping, updating the UI or experimenting with a new technology. We break for lunch around noon and resume around an hour later. Later on we occasionally gather to discuss new ideas or exchange feedback on what we're working on. That's it.\n\nThe experience and skills that we require\n\n\n* Fluency with Swift and Objective-C with at least 3 years of professional experience as an iOS developer involved in at least one real-world application or project that you can show us. \n\n* Excellent understanding of UIKit, Core Animation, GCD, Core Data and WatchKit.\n\n* Experience working with Git version control and Unit testing.\n\n* Experience in performance profiling with Instruments on Xcode.\n\n* Very basic knowledge of Photoshop and Sketch to handle UI deliverables.\n\n* Fully comfortable working and communicating in English, both in writing and speaking.\n\n* Always willing to learn and experiment with new technologies and \n\n\n\n\nWhat we offer\n\nWe don’t have a fancy espresso machine, in-house chefs and colourful slides connecting weirdly shaped rooms inspired by our logo that will make you feel like a 12-year old …yet. We offer a great salary, paid vacation time, flexible working hours, financial support for opportunities that will help you grow as professional and individual and perhaps most importantly, the conditions to do great work that matters.\n\nIt’s totally ok if you want to work remotely but if you change your mind, there will always be a quiet office space where you can work without distractions. We’ll also make sure you have great hardware and software to work with. An iMac Retina 5K is usually our weapon of choice.\n\nIf that sounds like what you're looking for, just send us an email to arrange a quick chat and get to know you better.

\nAt Recordsure we pride ourselves on the professionalism of our development, using modern practices and tools as appropriate to enable us to build the things we need.\n\nAgile practices are our norm, organising ourselves on Jira, Confluence and GitHub, whilst keeping in constant contact with one-another on Skype.\n\nAs developers we love creating, discussing and collaborating on delivering innovative products and support each other in our individual learnings and group challenges to achieve this.\n\n\nHow you work\n\nYou will work remotely for us from wherever your home happens to be, and we will do everything possible to make you feel part of the team... including a trip to London once or twice a year.\n\nYou will be expected to work 8 hours per weekday. To ensure effective communication with the rest of the team, and also to take part in required agile ceremonies and meetings, your working day must include the hours 10:00 to 14:00 GMT, including during British Summer Time.\n\nYour first and future projects\n\nYou will be working on enhancements (new features, and yes, bug fixes) to Recordsure Capture: a unique solution for recording the audio for face-to-face interviews using an iPhone or an iPad.\n\nDepending on when you join, your initial project is likely either to be revamping the existing Recordsure Capture application's UI to align it closely with the current business/marketing theme or start with fixing a couple of hard to trace outstanding issues.\n\nOnce that is done, there will be a host of other development work to upgrade the application to the latest Swift code from Objective C and Swift 2.0, integration of a new HTML form system and dynamic interaction between iOS and Javascript, implementing the latest OPUS codec for audio compression.\n\nWe’ll then also need your expertise and research on how feasible it might be to provide the product as an iOS embedded library/API/plugin to third party apps, to screen record, to real-time stream audio out over WebRTP, to hook in a camera recording feed, to integrate continuous build with our CI systems, to fork Skype audio into the app, to integrate with 3rd-party MDMs, to deploy to the App store once, but use custom configurations per organisation or user, etc. … the list goes on.\n\nAnd of course, you are going to have to ensure that the App is solid for every iOS major and minor release, preferably before each public iOS build is released.
