You will play a key role in evolving our services to handle 10X that.\n* You will own some of our large, upcoming challenges and collaborate with your team on all of these: building a streaming data reports pipeline, reworking how we index data and retrieve data to scale while controlling infrastructure costs, and significantly improving our search relevancy and customer-facing reporting capabilities. \n* Our engineering team is over 40 people, more than half the company. As part of the search and data team you will be involved in the decisions made regarding implementation, testing, and backlog prioritization. You will collaborate with the rest of the engineering team through code, reviews. You will participate in making architectural discussion.\n* We work in using iterative software approach, communicate mostly via Slack and are committed to remote, agile development. When you are ready, you’ll create and send a pull request with tests and tag your team for review - using video and screen-sharing as needed. Your development builds can be easily tested on environments that closely match production. You’ll work autonomously for the most part and we trust you to get work done when/where you can be productive.\n* Your team performs engineering support when a question can’t be answered by our in-house support team and passes triage. We’ll get you up-to-speed with engineering support so you can help our customers and improve the product along the way.\n* Everything is secondary to the customer experience. We expect you to have a keen sense of how your code will impact the experience in terms of performance, security and usability.\n* You'll be working with product people that challenge you to get better every day. The founders are technical and committed to creating a magical experience for customers. \nCAPX is designed to serve a marketplace of aprx. 80K companies in the US with annual corporate finance transaction value in hundreds of billions. We are focused on creating our core platform that works on the universal principles of risk management and financial analysis, which would allow us to continue expanding globally with limited FE modifications. \n\nWe are a pre-launch start up with a small team. we expect each member to contribute to conception, design, development and improvements of entire CAPX platform without hierarchical constraints. \nFull Stack Ruby On Rails Developer \nRemote\n\nJob description\n(This position accepts remote candidates, as well as on-site for our Jacksonville office)\n\nWho We Are:\n\n\n* Helpjuice empowers large and small companies (such as Hertz, US Government, and thousands of others) to deliver instant support\n\n* We're a smaller, yet growing software company, where everyone wears multiple hats. It's a team of excellent people, who are all willing to help each other, because it's the way we work / our culture\n\n* We care about our customers, and are a very transparent company in how we build software (e.g.: our product roadmap is public & customer-driven)\n\n\n\n\n\nWho We're Looking For:\n\n\n* You want to learn from a founder who has launched multiple companies and see a job not just as a way to write code and get paid for it, but as a great learning opportunity\n\n* You value a team that works both hard and smart - who are obsessed with helping customers and honing their craft more than anything\n\n* You actually want to love your job, the people you work with and the software you help create, instead of simply tolerating them\n\n* You’re looking for a career, not just another job\n\n* You know, like and agree with most of the views shared by the Basecamp guys\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* You have 3+ years in Rails, ideally 1+ year in Rails 5\n\n* You've worked with a monolith code base and understand that 'micro-services' are not a solution for every scenario\n\n* You can write beautiful JavaScript code, and prefer instantaneous JavaScript apps. Apps that refresh are in the past\n\n* You're a damn good communicator, and don't make excuses. "It works on my computer" isn't a valid response why our app is down\n\n\n\n\n\nAre you up for the challenge?\nApply now via the application form. \nDESCRIPTION\n\nHelp Scout is hiring a quality assistance engineer to help ensure our products provide an excellent customer experience. We build our products with engineer-led unit tests and functional tests, as well as extensive dogfooding and internal testing throughout the company.\n\nAs our first full-time QA engineer on our flagship Help Desk application, you are responsible for test plan development, execution and analysis across several major new initiatives. For this project you’ll be joining the Help Scout Web team of five engineers and working on an application used by over 6,000 (and growing!) companies around the world.\n\n\nAbout the Role\n\n\n* The engineering team now has about twenty people, with five of them working full-time on our web application. You will be working hard with them to perform exploratory testing, build effective test plans, execute them efficiently, and deliver a great product to our customers.\n\n* A separate group of engineers works on several APIs consumed by both the web and mobile apps. Our design team owns most of the html/css work and will help you make sure everything ends up being pixel perfect.\n\n* You may also end up doing some work on the Docs front-end that’s customer-facing (like docs.helpscout.net), which is just lightweight Scala templates and jQuery.\n\n* Aside from a weekly check in and bi-weekly planning meeting, you'll be able to work interruption-free. 90% of our communication happens in Slack. You can work anywhere in the world as long as you have 4+ hours of overlap time with your teammates.\n\n* Everything is secondary to the customer experience. We expect you to have a keen sense of how your code will impact the experience in terms of performance, security and usability.\n\n* You'll be working with product people that challenge you to get better every day. The founders are technical and committed to creating a magical experience for customers. You'll deploy work that moves the needle for businesses around the world.\n\n\n

\nHelp Scout is hiring a quality assistance engineer to help ensure our products provide an excellent customer experience. We build our products with engineer-led unit tests and functional tests, as well as extensive dogfooding and internal testing throughout the company.\n\nAs our first full-time QA engineer, you are responsible for test plan development, execution and analysis across several major new initiatives, starting with our first mobile application. For this project you’ll be joining two other mobile engineers and a designer to create an iOS version of our flagship application used by over 4,000 (and growing!) companies around the world.\n\n\nAbout the Role\n\n\n* The engineering team now has about fifteen people, with two of them working full-time on the mobile application (iOS). You will be working hard with them to perform exploratory testing, build effective test plans, execute them efficiently, and deliver a great product to our customers.\n\n* A separate group of engineers is working on all the API endpoints consumed by the mobile app. Your test plans will need to cover the complete end-to-end application behavior exposed to the user.\n\n* The mobile app exposes most of the non-administrator functionality of our popular web application. You will need to become an expert in its behavior and nuances so you can scrutinize corresponding details in the mobile application.\n\n* After the mobile app launch, you’ll work to plan for the testing of additional strategic features and product areas across both our web and mobile applications.\n\n\n

\nSummary\n\nPHP runs a lot of what we do here at Help Scout. It drives most new features, integrations and all our back-end admin tools. We have ambitious plans for the future and are looking for customer-driven engineers to help us craft a wonderful product experience. You’ll be joining three other senior level engineers on our Platform team to create software used by over 4,000 (and growing!) companies around the world.\n\nTools We Use\n\n\n* PHP - the test-driven, object-oriented kind\n\n* Backbone.js, Marionette and jQuery\n\n* Node.js\n\n* RabbitMQ\n\n* Java (APIs)\n\n* MySQL and MongoDB\n\n* Git + Github\n\n* AWS\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Role\n\n\n* The engineering team currently has about fourteen people, three of whom will be your teammates on the Platform team. On a typical day you may help a customer with an issue, add a feature to our back-end admin tool or start work on a third party integration.\n\n* The Help Scout front-end is built with Backbone.js and Marionette, so you’ll be writing JavaScript as well. Building something new usually involves pulling in data from a Java API endpoint, creating a PHP passthrough and implementing the front-end components in JavaScript.\n\n* Your team works in two-week sprints and communicates mostly via Slack. When you finish a project and send a pull request, your teammates review the code and test cases (often over a screen-sharing session) before pushing to production.  You’ll work autonomously for the most part and we trust you to get work done when/where you can be productive.\n\n* The Platform team is the first line of engineering support when a question can’t be answered by our in-house support team. We’ll get you up-to-speed with engineering support so you can help us craft a customer experience that’s always getting better.\n\n\n

\nWork should be about creating - not about long meetings and exhausting spec documents.\n\nWhat we value\n\nWe believe that everyone should do what they love. Nobody loves meetings, exhausting specification documents or projects that go on for ages. We have a hands-on, pragmatic approach with good project management (Slack / Podio) and client management (no assholes client policy) in place. This means you can focus on what you do best: writing great code, adapting modern technologies on real projects and having a great time with your colleagues.\n\nWhat we do\n\nWork on the most awesome looking websites in fully cross functional scrum teams. Our work includes websites for Dancevalley (one the first and biggest dance festivals in Netherlands, 250000+ pageviews per month), Rockstart (wordwide startup accelerator) or Got It (learning platform used in Dutch schools, 160000+ users). Usually we are involved in projects from the first start, the concepting phase and we aim for long term relationships.\n\nWhat we offer\n\n\n\n\n* Good compensation and secondary benefits\n\n* Innovative environment with emphasis on modern technologies (F*CK IE9)\n\n* Clients that we like to work with (this one is pretty valuable to us)\n\n* Flexible working hours (minimum of 24 hours per week)\n\n* Remote working is possible\n\n\n
