๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. Status SNT is hiring a
Remote Senior C++ Qt QML Developer

\nAbout Status\nStatus is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3.ย \nWith the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.\nAs an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community.ย \nAs a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of DApps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol; the p2p communication layer for Web3.\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception.ย  Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe.ย \nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe role\n\n\n\n\nStatus Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms.ย  Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and weโ€™ve just kicked off development of our new โ€˜multi-chain from the ground upโ€™ crypto Wallet.ย  รApp browser and blockchain node functionality will follow next. Status SNT is hiring a
Remote Senior C++ Qt QML Developer

\nAbout Status\nStatus is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3. \nWith the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.\nAs an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community. \nAs a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of DApps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol; the p2p communication layer for Web3.\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception. Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe. \nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\n\n\n \n\nThe role\n\n\n\n\nStatus Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms. Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and weโ€™ve just kicked off development of our new โ€˜multi-chain from the ground upโ€™ crypto Wallet. รApp browser and blockchain node functionality will follow next. Status desktop is currently built using Nim & QT for the frontend, and it shares a common backend with Status mobile that is written in Go. We are currently in the middle of a large refactor of our architecture. This refactor includes transitioning the QT front end from Nim to C++, moving all business logic to our status-go backend, and upgrading from QT5.14.2 to QT6.2. As we work in the open and are fully open source you can get a better idea of who we are and the work we are doing by browsing our team wiki here and taking a look at our Status Desktop, Status Desktop QML component library and Status Desktop and Mobile Go backend GitHub repos. You can find more information about our desktop effort in this blog post. \n\nStatus is looking for multiple senior experienced C++/QML UI devs to join our growing desktop dev team and to work with us to create a permissionless, decentralized, censorship proof group chat platform. Role responsibilities include developing new features, creating and enhancing components in our QML UI toolkit component library, advising and assisting other members of the desktop dev team with solving challenging QML UI development problems, and perhaps working on the Go backend if this is something you would enjoy. As a team we try to match task assignment with the individual interests and passions of our team members, so there is a high degree of flexibility with regards to what you would be working on. If you are a passionate C++/QML expert who knows all the ins and outs of C++ and QT/QML UI development this could be an ideal role for you.\n\n \nThe desktop team is spread between Europe and North America with crossover work hours being the European timezone afternoon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ideally you will be located in a timezone between UTC -8 and UTC +3 e.g. anywhere in-between Panama and Moscow. Work is async using Status, Google Meet and Github, typically in Scrum Sprints.\n\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n\n\n\nBuild new features, enhance existing functionality and fix issues in the Status Desktop application.\n\nHelp develop and maintain Statusโ€™s QML UI component library (primarily used by the Status Desktop product)\n\nAdvise and assist the other developers in the Desktop team as needed to help solve the hardest QML UI development challenges\n\nContribute to C++ and Go codebases (and help with transitioning the codebase from Nim to C++ if you join us prior to this transition being completed), but donโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t have any prior Go or Nim experience.\n\nBe one of our resident experts for everything related to C++ and Qt/QML UI development.\n\n\n\n\nYou ideally will have\n\n\n\nDonโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t meet all of these criteria, weโ€™d still love to hear from you anyway if you think youโ€™d be a great fit for this role!\n\n\nExpert level experience implementing UIs using Qt/QML/C++\n\nA strong ability to think about components and modules as they relate to other components as part of a larger system\n\nA very strong attention to detail and the willingness to deliver pixel perfect UI according to the designs.\n\nProvide feedback and product ideas to the designers as needed\n\nExperience with multithreading / concurrency\n\nGood communication skills in English\n\nA strong alignment to our principles: https://status.im/about/#our-principles We are a passion driven project on a mission to build tools that protect and enable free speech. \n\n\n\nBonus points if you have\n\n\nExperience working in an open source organization\n\nA strong interest in blockchain technology and have a good understanding of Ethereum.\n\nWorked in a remote distributed environment that values asynchronous communication\n\nKnowledge of Go and/or Nim and/or Solidity is a plus\n\nExperience with using QT/QML to develop cross platform (Windows, OSX, Linux) desktop applications and mobile applications (iOS, Android) is a plus\n\nPrior experience with using Squish for functional testing QT apps\n\nExperience implementing openGL rendering in a QML context\n\nAny background or experience with cryptography and/or security\n\n\n\nCompensation\n\nWe are happy to pay in either 100% fiat or any mix of fiat and/or crypto.\n\n\n\nHiring process\n\n\n\nThe hiring process for this role is usually as follows (sometimes adapted):\n\nIntroductory conversation - Talent team\n\n3 Technical Interviews with Desktop Qt/QML Developers\n\nTeam lead interview - Iuri, Desktop Team Lead\n\n'Meet the Desktop team' interviews with 3-4 Desktop Contributors (30-40m each)\n\n\nQuestions about this role?\nFeel free to get in touch, we are more than happy to discuss the role in more detail.\n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Web3, Solidity, Crypto, Ethereum, Testing, Node, Mobile, Senior, Linux and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $55,000 — $110,000/year\n

Octopus Energy is hiring a
Remote Senior Backend Developer Supportsite Team

\nKraken is the technology tentacle of the Octopus Energy Group. \n\n\nAll technology is written and maintained by a multi-discipline engineering team of around 300 people globally. Our engineers work in โ€˜super teamsโ€™ which are focused on key areas of our platform as well as other innovative products. This also includes server-side, client-side and mobile engineers working closely with UX experts, copywriters and designers. \n \nTeams are empowered to choose a way of working that works for them, often opting for a Kanban-like approach. Notion and Asana are then used to specify and manage work; Github, CircleCI and Terraform Enterprise as part of an immutable-infrastructure, continuous delivery pipeline; and Datadog, Sentry and Cloudwatch to measure performance and monitor production. \n \nSome of our coding conventions are open-source . \n \nKraken is a great place to learn, work with some talented engineers and level-up your skills.  \n \nOur technology\nOn the server-side, we mainly use Python. Most of our websites are powered by Django, Django-REST-framework and GraphQL (Graphene).  \n \nWe use AWS heavily  as part of a continuous deployment pipeline. See, for example, Django, ELB health checks and continuous delivery. \n \nClient-side, we use React, htmx and SASS; our mobile apps are built using native code or React Native.\n\n\nOur team\nOur teamโ€™s goal is to make Kraken as awesome as the Energy Specialists who use it every day. We work closely with them and our in-house designers to keep making it better and better. Beyond that, our work empowers Krakenโ€™s many backend teams to build amazing features without having to worry about CSS and JavaScript getting in their way. We do this by building our own design system, working with other teams on building new features, and ensuring Kraken is a joy to work on. All while adding new features and maintaining existing functionality.\n\n\nWeโ€™re looking for a strong backend developer with a solid understanding of Django, to help us become even more of a full-stack powerhouse.\n\n\nSo, would you like to work in a team that gets the opportunity to collaborate with others, and dip into many domains? Would you like to help shape the experience of Energy Specialists using Kraken? Would you like to help come up with the best patterns to build an awesome website, from Django templates, to React, to HTMX? Would you like to mentor Frontend devs who want to build out their skills and go full-stack, while learning a few Frontend tricks from them? Give us a shout.\n\n\n\nWhat you'll do\n* We have lots of difficult design challenges to solve. The UK utilities market is complicated, outdated and process-heavy - there's an awful lot of domain modelling that we need to get right. Strong attention to detail is essential.\n* We have challenging technical problems to solve; like processing tens of millions of meter readings a day. We need the right technology in place to handle this smoothly as well as feeding data into a machine learning pipeline that models and predicts consumption. Or thinking about how we adapt Kraken to improve other utilities like water and broadband.\n* There's a great opportunity for disruption in the UK energy market. The big suppliers still dominate, but are not exactly popular. The energy landscape is changing as we move to more dis-aggregated forms of generation, with less predictability, more dynamism and smarter technology.\n* You'll be working for a company thatโ€™s fighting climate change. Our generation arm is the largest investor in solar generation in the UK, and is funding wind and anaerobic digestion. As a supplier, we're helping people to use greener technology and renewable energy, all helping move the UK towards a lower carbon future.\n\n\n\nWhat you'll need\n* We're looking for someone with a general interest in technology and problem-solving; someone diligent and thoughtful. It would be helpful to have experience/expertise in the following (in rough priority order):\n* Python\n* Django (or equiv. web framework)\n* Domain modelling\n* HTTP and REST APIs\n* Writing robust and fault-tolerant software\n* Celery and async processing\n* Postgres\n\nPlus experience in the following would be a bonus:\n* AWS\n* Terraform, Packer, Consul\n* React and Redux\n\n\n\nWhy else you'll love about us\n* Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Octopus - what's more important to us is finding the right octofit!\n* Octopus Energy is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground. We want your hard work to be rewarded with perks you actually care about! We won best company to work for in 2022, on Glassdoor we we're voted 50 best places to work in 2022 and our Group CEO, Greg has recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people \n* Visit our perks hub - Octopus Employee Benefits\n\n\n\n\n\nWe would prefer someone who can work in our London office but will consider remote candidates. However, you do need to be able to work in the UK. \n\n\nWe're very excited to be growing our team. We're looking for skills and experience to help shape and define the future of not only our team, but the wider business at a global scale. If you're reading this and grinning, please apply! There are huge challenges to tackle, and we need amazing people who are keen to get stuck in.\n\n\nIf this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you. \n\n\nStudies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, React, GraphQL, Django, JavaScript, CSS, Mobile, Senior and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $50,000 — $100,000/year\n

Monzo is hiring a
Remote Senior iOS Engineer

\n๐Ÿ“Anywhere, UK | ๐Ÿ’ฐ ยฃ80,000 - ยฃ140,000 base salary per year โž• plus stock options + Benefits \nAbout us\n\nWeโ€™re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.\n\nWe want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.\n\nWe're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.\nAbout our mobile engineering practice\n\nOur mobile engineers have a variety of different backgrounds\n\nThere are 25 iOS engineers at Monzo and weโ€™re looking for one more to join the team. We have several non-graduates; only some of us studied Computer Science; some of us have worked in huge companies; some have only ever worked in startups; others are former consultants. As long as you enjoy learning new things, weโ€™d love to talk to you.\n\nWe are actively creating an equitable environment for all of our engineers to thrive\n\nDiversity and inclusion are a priority for us and we are making sure we have lots of support for all of our people to grow at Monzo. We provide a sponsorship framework in Engineering for women and people of colour; all of our leaders are trained on privilege awareness and we are creating partnerships with organisations dedicated to supporting underrepresented groups.\n\nWe encourage an open and transparent working environment\n\nYou can get involved in any aspect of the business you are interested in and, following Stripeโ€™s example, all emails in the company are visible in an email archive. We default to transparency and prefer to communicate openly in Slack rather than by email or in DMs. Our blog is an excellent place to learn even more about what we do!\n\nMonzo works in project-based sprints in small, interdisciplinary teams\n\nWe have 200+ engineers out of roughly 2,500 people in total - and we have big ambitions. There are many interesting challenges ahead, and we're happy for people to move between teams or to specialise, whatever you prefer. As an engineer here you'd be able to work directly with anyone across the company, and we run regular knowledge-sharing sessions so youโ€™ll learn heaps about everything from how banks work to effective communication.\nYour day-to-day\n\nWeโ€™re searching for a product-aware Senior iOS engineers with a passion for great UI and UX to join our team. You understand the need for tested, resilient code balanced against the need to move fast and iterate.\n\nYouโ€™ll be working on a product that is a part of day to day life for more than 6 million people already, and your work here will shape the way that people interact with their finances.\n\nThis role is all about collaborating across disciplines to test hypotheses and make a difference to customers. As an iOS engineer at Monzo you'll work in a small, autonomous product squad alongside Android Engineers, Backend Engineers, User Researchers, Product Designers, Product Managers, QA Testers, Data Scientists and Business Analysts.\n\nYour mission will depend on the squad, but currently mobile engineers are working on the core personal banking experience, paid products, lending products, business banking and internal operations. We also have a small squad dedicated to enabling other mobile engineers to move faster.\n\nYou and your team will be responsible for an overall company goal, rather than building a specific feature - you'll have the opportunity to have impact on both what we build, and how we build it.\n\nEvery week we meet as a discipline to discuss tools, techniques, problems we're encountering across the company and work together to improve our codebase and processes.\n\nYou'll report to an engineering manager who will meet with you every 2 weeks 1:1, their mission is to help you develop and grow as an engineer.\nOur iOS app\n\nAt Monzo, you'll get to work with industry standard tools and technologies - and help us define what great looks like for iOS engineers.\n\nOur app is 100% Swift, built using a Model, View, View-Model architecture (MVVM). We use Coordinators to ensure we can re-use screens wherever possible, and avoid tightly coupling one screen to another. We make heavy use of protocols and extensions throughout our app.\n\nOur networking stack is built upon Alamofire, using a generic interface to easily de-serialise objects of a certain type, and we mirror our backend micro-service architecture by building individual services to house our API logic.\n\nWe persist objects using Realm when we need to.\n\nOur testing stack comprises of unit tests for business logic, stubbed API tests for pseudo-integration tests, snapshot tests for UI, and XCUITest for testing user input and sequencing.\n\nWe've published some talks and blog posts about how we work:\n\n\nWorking with backend services on iOS\n\nPushing Protocols to their Limits\n\nThe Release Mindset (how we release our apps)\n\n\n\nYou should apply if\n\nOur open roles are for Senior iOS Engineers at present.\n\n\nYou'll care about the impact your work has on our customers, and optimise for impact rather than the number of lines of code you output\n\nYou are excited about and have experience in programming in Swift\n\nYouโ€™ve shipped and iterated on at least one app in the App Store\n\nYou have a product mindset: you care about customer outcomes and you want to make data-informed decisions\n\nYou love turning excellent design into beautiful products\n\nYouโ€™re comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity\n\nYou have an understanding of the principles of computer science\n\n\n\nThe interview process\n\nOur interview process consists of a 45 min initial call video interview, a take-home code test followed by a 45 min video call with an engineer to discuss it, and 2 hours of final interviews conducted via video call as well.

When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.
