[SessionLab](https://www.sessionlab.com/) is the leading **platform for workshop facilitation and process design**. We are working to empower people to design and run better workshops, with more than 100.000 professionals using our Software-as-a-Service product. \n\nWe are looking for a **senior full-stack developer with frontend focused experience** to help us scale our platform and deliver more value to our customers.\n\nYou’ll be our fourth developer, working closely with our CTO and 2 senior developers, as well as our designer and product manager. You’ll build new and exciting features, improve platform security and maintain stability of our infrastructure. You will have a chance to work on and influence our whole stack, including DevOps, with an initial focus on the frontend.\n\nWe are a bootstrapped and profitable software business, headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, and **working across Europe with a fully remote 8-person team** (team members currently in Sweden, Hungary, UK, Russia, Spain, Croatia and Austria). Therefore, we are looking for somebody who is self-motivated, independent and comfortable working in a remote-first environment.\n\n#Who we are looking for:\n\n* You have a deep **React knowledge and experience**.\n* You excel at **CSS** and enjoy developing **Design Systems**.\n* You have experience with the **Rails framework** (or similar like Django).\n* You are comfortable building full stack features from scratch.\n* You are comfortable working in a small startup where cross discipline work is encouraged.\n* You are good at problem solving critical production issues in a timely manner.\n* You seek to take on responsibilities and take ownership of the work you do.\n* You thrive working independently, but also enjoy collaborating with people from different disciplines and you always try to look at the big picture.\n* Experience working remotely.\n\n##Advantages (not a must but a big plus):\n\n* Experience with technologies in our stack (Mobx, Webpack, PostgreSQL, Pusher).\n* Experience with UX/UI design and prototyping.\n* Experience in working on real-time sync in collaborative applications.\n* Experience in scaling web applications and optimizing frontend code.\n* Experience with workflow tools (Github Actions, Sentry, Mixpanel, Jira).\n* Experience with deploying production grade systems on Amazon Web Services (EC2, CloudFront, S3).\n* Contribution to open source projects.\n* Experience with maintaining WordPress.\n\n#So what will I be doing?\n\nTo give you an honest perspective of where we are now: we have a stable application and infrastructure with a relatively up-to-date codebase and an extensive customer-driven roadmap of new features and improvements we want to bring to the app.\n\nThis is where you come into the picture: we need somebody who can work full-time on bringing new features and improvements to the app.\n\n\n**In more practical terms:**\n\n* Building new features that have frontend or full-stack requirements.\n* Work with our designer to define and maintain a consistent Design System.\n* Debugging production related issues.\n* Improve frontend performance.\n* Working with our designer to provide technical input on new designs.\n* Working with the CTO and the other developers to improve the developer experience.\n* Scaling the infrastructure.\n\n#Why is this great for me?\n\n* Opportunity to **get involved early in building and scaling a product in a fast-growing market**.\n* Your **role and responsibility will grow as our company grows**.\n* Work remotely and create your own schedule (we believe in trust and autonomy).\n* Stable working environment that values work-life balance.\n* Motivated co-workers.\n* You will also have a chance to travel a couple of times per year to live company meetings (pandemic permitting 😕).\n* Open-minded working culture where we encourage sharing opinions and feedback.\n* You are passionate about building stable apps that provide great user experiences. 🙂\n\n#Compensation\n\nThe compensation range for this role is **between €60,000 to €84,000 annually on B2B contract** or matching gross salary as an employee (official employment status only available in certain countries). The actual compensation offered to a successful candidate will be based on relative experience and skills.\n\nThe compensation includes 20 calendar days of holiday per year plus your local holidays as paid time off, and additional remote working or home office setup support.\n\n\n# Want to learn more about us?\n\nCheck out below for some bits about who we are:\n* Read more about [recent team retreat](https://www.sessionlab.com/blog/company-retreat-hybrid).\n* [How we wrapped up 2020](https://www.sessionlab.com/blog/holiday-team-building-activity).\n* As a fully remote team we live in UK, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Russia, Croatia and Austria.\n* Half of us have kids.\n* We tend to meet live (when not in pandemic) twice a year and enjoy some nice activities (like cooking, escape rooms and board games).\n* We do also have social virtual activities (and always looking for new ideas on fun ways to spend some virtual time together). \n\nBe sure to mention the words **ANTENNA ESSAY ZOO** when applying to show you read the job post completely. Founded in 2013, Nadine West sends personalized outfits to your doorstep every month. No subscription fees. Pay for only what you like.\n\n**DESCRIPTION**\n\nReporting directly to the Lead Engineer (and working alongside a member of the Ruby on Rails core team!), you will dive in and take ownership of our existing codebase, helping extend and scale our bespoke recommendations engine, order management, inventory, shipping, and reporting components.\n\nThis is a great opportunity to help lead the engineering team of a startup that is already profitable, already a well-known brand for women, but is still growing fast even in COVID times. We need someone who can not only build our existing codebase, but also push the envelope, as we are developing some sophisticated data science capabilities, similar to Netflix, Amazon, and Stitch Fix.\n\nFounded in 2014, Nadine West sends personalized outfits to our customers’ doorsteps every month. We are based in Austin TX, but we are a remote-first company, so you can live and work anywhere.\n\n**REQUIREMENTS**\n\nYou partner with stakeholders to understand the business needs and design right-sized solutions, able to move from open-minded design thinking to breaking problems down and iterating to create working software.\n\nYou have built, launched, extended, and maintained a business-critical Rails app long enough to learn from your decisions, and love sharing those stories.\n\nYou have time-tested beliefs about code quality, testing, architecture, database design, ORMs, and build vs. buy tradeoffs, and enjoy articulating those beliefs to your colleagues.\n\nYou’re at home owning the entire product development cycle (design, dev, testing, release, monitoring).\n\nYou’ve managed CI/CD pipelines and love auto-deploying to production after your well-honed tests pass.\n\nYou cherish focused, low-interruption deep work like we do (See Basecamp’s “Is Group Chat is Making you Sweat?” and Cal Newport’s “Deep Work”).\n\nYou’re excited to work remotely, but also excited to share a US timezone and let us host you in Austin one day!\n\n**BENEFITS**\n\n* This position pays somewhere between your local pay and Austin pay (Google “Austin senior software engineer salary”.)\n* You can work and live anywhere that makes you happy.\n* We have always been a remote work company, collaborating across multiple continents. We believe you should be free to work whenever and wherever you choose.\n \n\nBe sure to mention the words **MORNING HUNGRY ACT** when applying to show you read the job post completely. Do you want to join us on our mission to shape democracies for the digital age? Are you looking for an international and fast-paced, yet collaborative and inclusive environment to thrive in?\n\nCitizenLab, a social impact scale-up with headquarters in Brussels and offices in New York, Amsterdam, Paris, and London, aims to make public decision-making more participatory, inclusive, and responsive. The SaaS platform is already being used by over 300 cities and municipalities in 15+ countries, facilitating two-way communication between governments and their residents. Since it was founded in 2015, CitizenLab has enabled 750,000+ community members to weigh in on the local topics they care about, and got recently recognized as 'Best Social Impact Startup in Europe'. \n\n**Full-Stack Engineer** **at CitizenLab**\n\nAs a Full-Stack Engineer in the Engagement squad, you contribute to our core product, which allows local governments to engage their citizens through a wide range of digital participation methods. You’re part of a cross-functional squad. While you can contribute to both our Ruby back-end and our React front-end, you specialize in one. You help your colleagues to bridge knowledge gaps.\n\nAt CitizenLab, we work in small teams where members collectively take ownership of the outcome of the features they build. We work in short iterations, test rigorously and release continuously. We’re strong believers in user testing and understanding live product usage.\n\nYour responsibilities:\n\n* You actively contribute to the specifications of **new features**, uncovering technical constraints and breaking down the work in iterations and tasks.\n\n* You **take ownership** over your **tasks** and implement them in close contact with your colleagues.\n\n* You take into account all aspects, from data models to testing, to performance, **delivering well-engineered scalable solutions.**\n\n* You bridge the back-end/front-end knowledge gaps for your colleagues, seeing the full picture.\n\nYou deliver your work in small iterations, often soliciting **feedback** from colleagues, spontaneously and through code reviews.\n\n#### **What do we expect from you?**\n\nAs our Full-Stack Engineer with a front _or_ back-end focus:\n\n* You have multiple years of experience developing in **Ruby on Rails** _or_ **React** and have at least played around with the other, or very similar. Experience with **Elixir** is a plus.\n\n* You know how to implement a **modern user interface.**\n\n* You know how to implement a sound **API.**\n\n* You’re a firm believer in well-tested and **peer-reviewed** code.\n\n* You take **initiative** and like to be challenged.\n\n* The ability to relocate to **Brussels** is a plus, but not a requirement.\n\nEagerness to learn, talent, and enthusiasm are more important than ticking the boxes. Even if not all desired requirements are met, but you're very excited about the role, we want to hear from you.\n\n#### **What can you expect from us?**\n\n* Unlock your full potential and have a social **impact at scale**. We're daily working with +230 governments to connect them to their citizens.\n\n* Become a key factor in our rapid transition from startup to a **scaleup** (50 employees).\n\n* Work in a **fast-paced, collaborative and supportive** environment. We share a participatory culture of autonomy and ownership by everyone, not only by the leadership.\n\n* Be part of our **dynamic, international team**. We organize many team activities and afterworks (when possible). We are as serious about our work in digital democracy, as about having fun on our journey together.\n\n*  **Informal work vibe** with open communication and full transparency on results.\n\n* Participate in inspiring team lunches, our company book club, bi-quarterly strategic town halls, bi-yearly off-site **team retreats**.\n\n* Work 10% of your time on **personal projects and self-development** for the long run. We’re growing fast together, both collectively and individually.\n\n* Receive a **competitive salary package**, incl. perks such as 26 paid holidays, training budget, well-being budget, collective bonus plan, your own laptop, full flexibility on working from home, and much more.\n\n_CitizenLab is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applicants of different backgrounds, cultures, genders, experiences, abilities and perspectives to apply._ \n\nBe sure to mention the words **MODEL FEW TWO** when applying to show you read the job post completely. **I'm looking for a full stack Ruby developer to help me build tools for startups and makers.**\n\nYou'll be working with me on these projects:\n\n* [Startup Jobs](https://startup.jobs), job board for startups.\n* [BetaList](https://betalist.com), helps startups get their first users.\n* [WIP](https://wip.co), a community of makers working in public.\n\nIt's a remote, part-time freelancing gig starting with 1-2 days per week depending on your rate. It might grow into full-time if things go well and if you're up for it. \n\n**Who you are:**\n\n* Can clearly communicate complex ideas\n* Comfortable working remote and by yourself\n* Self-motivated to ship early and often\n* Prefer pragmatic solutions over theoretical computer science\n* Minimum availability of 2 days per week\n* Ruby developer with extensive experience\n* If you have other work commitments, those allow you to work for me too\n\nThis is not a junior position. If you're not familiar with concepts like SOLID, OOP, inheritance and refactoring please do not apply. \n\n**Who I am:**\n\nI'm Marc Köhlbrugge, the founder of BetaList, Startup Jobs, WIP, and others. I'm doing a lot of different work activities (development, design, sales, marketing, etc). You'll be working directly with me.\n\n**What you'll work on:**\n\nAs mentioned before you'll work on Startup Jobs, BetaList, and WIP. The codebases are quite similar. We'll start off simple with just one codebase.\n\nYou'll be working the full stack. Both back-end (Ruby on Rails) and front-end (HTML, CSS, Javascript). You'll also design basic screens, but you don't need to be a great designer.\n\nSome examples GitHub issues that we'll be working on soon:\n\n* Replace location auto-complete on Startup Jobs with a new source because Algolia Places is deprecated\n* Allow one-click unsubscribes from WIP notifications and onboarding emails on \n* Add regular email signup to BetaList (currently only supports Twitter OAuth)\n\n**Tech stack**\n\n* Ruby on Rails 6\n* Devise, and other popular gems\n* Rspec, Capybara\n* Hotwire / Turbo / Stimulus\n* HAML (Easy to learn if you don't know it)\n* Heroku and Render for hosting (I expect minimal DevOps work)\n\n**How we'll work:**\n\nWe'll communicate via Telegram chat with maybe a call every other month or so. I prefer to work asynchronously as much as possible. We'll use GitHub Issues and Pull Requests to manage our workflow.\n\nTypically your day will start by looking at the GitHub Issues I assigned to you. They will provide a high-level view of a feature, bug to fix, etc. I'll leave it up to you of if you need more details, or are comfortable filling it yourself.\n\nIf any questions come up throughout the day, we discuss via chat. For more in-depth discussions we use GitHub Issues.\n\nOnce your PR is ready I'll review it. I might have a few questions or make some minor suggestions. After you implement them, we'll merge the PR into master and it gets deployed to production.\n\nI'm an experienced Ruby developer myself, so hopefully we can learn from each other.\n\n**What you'll get**\n\n* Money\n* Work on cool products used by people like yourself\n* First-row seat at what it's like to build a small, bootstrapped business \n* Lots of freedom and responsibility\n* Bad jokes and memes\n\n**What to expect from the interviewing process**\n\nThe interview process will be mostly async because that’s what work will be like. I'll try to provide helpful feedback if you don't get picked.\n\n**Round 1**\n\n* Ask me any questions you might have before applying ( [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) )\n* Apply by filling out the questionnaire.\n* I'll review all applicants and might ask follow-up questions\n* I'll let you know if you made it through to the next round\n\nPlease only apply if you can share a codebase you worked on. I can't assess your abilities without seeing examples. \n\n**Round 2**\n\nYou will record ~20 minute video where you walk-through some of your code. Topics to include:\n\n* An example of where you made a structural code change through extraction or another refactoring technique. Ideally you could show this using a Pull Request to make it clear what exactly changed. \n* Test coverage of some kind. Integration with Capybara/RSpec would be most relevant, but use whatever you have.\n* Show off a pragmatic solution to a technical challenge (e.g. simple solution to add a valuable product feature)\n* Basic design you came up with. I don’t expect you to be a great designer. But you might implement basic UI elements yourself without help of a designer.\n* Front-end javascript. Ideally something with Hotwire (Stimulus, Turbo, etc).\n\nOf course you're free to include this in your initial application.\n\n**Round 3 – Final**\n\nI expect 3-5 candidates to reach this stage. I will pay you to do a short pilot project. I review the work and pick a candidate. \n\nBe sure to mention the words **BABY AWESOME SYRUP** when applying to show you read the job post completely. This is a beta feature to avoid spam applicants.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n$100,000 — $200,000/year\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

Hi there. It's Marc from [WIP](https://wip.chat), [BetaList](https://betalist.com), and [Startup Jobs](https://startup.jobs). I'm looking to contract a remote, part-time Full-stack Rails developer.\n\n\n\nStarting out with $2,000/mo budget – number of hours up to you.\n\n\n\nRight now, I do all product development myself (both design and tech), but there's only so many hours in a day. To speed up product development, I am now looking to work with a Ruby on Rails developer. \n\n\n\n**What you'll get out of it**\n\n\n\nYou'll be working directly with me. You get to regularly ship code that will be used by thousands of makers. You will learn what it's like to iterate really quick. What it takes to build a bootstrapped business. How to be an pragmatic maker focusing on the right 20% of work, that delivers 80% of the results. You get to work on a bunch of different products within the full stack. There might be an opportunity down the road to take the lead on a specific product, if that's what you want.\n\n\n\n**Compensation**\n\n\n\nThis is a freelancing gig. You will send me a monthly invoice for your billable hours x your hourly rate.\n\n\n\nMy initial budget is $2,000/mo. If things work out, this will increase over time and so would the number of working hours. Assuming you're up for it.\n\n# Responsibilities\n You'll be working alongside me on WIP, BetaList, and/or Startup Jobs. We'll probably start out with just one, but over time you might work on multiple products. The tech stacks for these are very similar. (more on that below)\n\n\n\nYou'll be building new features, refactoring existing code, fixing bugs, optimizing performance, and adding test coverage. Most importantly, you will ship early and often. I like to work in very short iterations, with most code hitting production within hours or days of writing it. Whenever possible, big changes get broken up in smaller ones so there's never that fear of shipping something big and hoping for the best.\n\n\n\nDepending on your skill set you'll also be touching some front-end code and server config. \n\n\n\nWhile I haven't adopted the TDD lifestyle yet, I have started to add more test coverage to my projects. Especially for code that is mission critical (e.g. signups), or hard to test manually (e.g. many different scenarios).\n\n\n\n**Workflow**\n\n\n\nI like to keep my schedule as free as possible. Therefore, don't expect many meetings/calls. Most communication will happen asynchronously through Telegram chat.\n\n\n\nI expect you to be able to work independently and move fast. \n\n# Requirements\nYou should have extensive experience building production Rails apps. You should also have experience working by yourself, communicate clearly, and willing to take initiative. I will take a hands-off approach and trust you to do the work and reach out to me when necessary.\n\n\n\nWhen applying, you need to be able to share relevant source code for me to review. If you cannot share this, please do not apply. If you need me to sign an NDA first, send me a message.\n\n\n\n**Nice-to-have**\n\n\n\n* Front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JS)\n\n* DevOps skills\n\n* An eye for design\n\n\n\n**Tech Stack**\n\n\n\n* Ruby on Rails 5+\n\n* Puma\n\n* Heroku / Linode\n\n* Devise / OmniAuth\n\n* HAML (but considering switching to SLIM for performance) \n\nBe sure to mention the words **HOVER CLEAN WIN** when applying to show you read the job post completely. ### About us:\n\nSince 2005, over 300,000 websites have used Crazy Egg to understand how their audience experiences their website and their product. We are pioneers in data visualization, in conversion rate optimization, and in helping small and medium businesses get immense value quickly and accurately from incredibly large data sets. That's what we love to do. We are looking for a product and customer minded Full Stack Engineer to help build on that foundation and improve our product, and the tools, technology and platform we use to help our customers. You will be joining Crazy Egg as a Full Stack Engineer and help in scaling our systems and move us towards a service oriented architecture. Here's what that looks like at Crazy Egg, and here are the values you’d be excited to stand behind:\n\n### As a team we strive for:\n\n- Direct, undeniable, customer impact. We have incredible customers that we're grateful for and we believe the best teammates are the ones who, regardless of function or discipline, are eager and excited to find a way to connect their work directly to customers.\n- Trusted independence with interdependence. You are fully trusted as a full owner of the work you do; self-determined, responsible, accountable, and celebrated. With that freedom, you acknowledge, a broader social context. We work together, we partner, we collaborate, and we make sure the work we take on and hand off is done thoughtfully and with care.\n- Assume positive intent. All outcomes may not be what we desired, what we expected, or what we needed. But they happened because people take chances and are willing to make decisions. We assume people try their hardest and try their best, we assume their actions started with the most positive of intentions. Every conversation, assessment, piece of feedback, starts with that assumption, on both sides. This ensures our team is built on a foundation of trust.\n- Care and inclusion; sincerely. We work at Crazy Egg because we believe in the opportunity, we believe in the vision, we believe in our people, and we believe in our ability to build something wonderful. It is those beliefs that also mean we care about the market, we care about the vision, we care about each other, and we care about building something wonderful. When all of this falls into place, our customers are able to build better businesses and succeed.\n\n\n### As an engineer what we hope you strive for:\n\n- The ability to work independently and with other engineers to develop new user experience-focused web applications, or provide support for existing systems.\n- Have the ability to work on multiple parts of a web application, from internal backend APIs to dynamic frontend interfaces.\n- Collaborate with designers, front-end specialists, other engineers, stakeholders, and clients to understand business goals, analyze requirements, formulate solutions, and ensure the successful execution and delivery of the end product using the best technologies.\n- Assist in scoping, estimating, and planning of projects.\n- Participate in code review, pairing, and other forms of knowledge sharing.\n- Support of production applications may be required on some projects.\n- Mentoring and helping others grow and make an impact\n\n### Experience and Skills we’re looking for:\n\n- Prior experience in developing single page applications - We use Ember.js/React/Redux/GraphQL\n- Prior experience developing web applications using web frameworks - We use Ruby on Rails/Node/Elixir/Phoenix.\n- Excellent planning, communication and collaboration skills\n- Understanding of best practices for web development and software design\n\n### Nice to have, but not required experience:\n\n- Previous remote working experience (nice to have but not necessarily required)\n- Prior client services, consulting, or freelancing experience\n- Working in a startup environment\n- Previous role as a team leader\n- Working on web applications that process large volumes of data and/or receive high volumes of traffic\n- Using a variety of AWS tools\n- Using Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment\n\n\n### Perks and Benefits\n\n- We believe in building the best team possible, regardless of geographic location. Our team is fully distributed all over the world and we believe in working where you’re the most productive and happiest.\n- We have full trust in you and believe in finding a good balance. Work should be a paced marathon, not a sprint, and so. \n- We have an unlimited vacation policy.\n- We provide full benefits of Dental/Medical.\n- We believe in supporting your growth and opportunity. Crazy Egg was founded 14 years ago by accomplished founders.\n- If you’re looking to learn what it takes to one day break off on your own and start your own startup, we think this is a good opportunity for you.\n\n#### Direct applicants only. No recruiters please.\n\nIf you’re interested in joining us, please share a bit about yourself, your background, and why you’re interested in joining our team to [email protected] \n\nBe sure to mention the words **BEACH GLIDE SPRAY** when applying to show you read the job post completely. Estately makes it easier to find and buy a home online and we need your help.\n\nWhat you'll do:\n\nYou'll collaborate to build, maintain, and streamline our large application, working with Ruby, Rails, Postgres, and more. Some examples of the work you'll be doing include the following:\n\n* Working closely with product and design to define and implement new features\n* Continually improving our fetching code, which grabs data on millions of properties throughout each day\n* Integrating various APIs to give our customers even more info about homes\n* Making our website a more delightful experience\n\nYou'll have both the opportunity and the independence to tackle all kinds of challenges: some days you'll work on refactoring a legacy part of the app to make it do something new, and on others, you'll build a brand new, greenfield feature.\n\nYou\n\n* You have experience architecting, building, and maintaining reliable web applications that serve hundreds of requests per second.\n* You care about maintaining a clean, readable, well tested codebase.\n* We work extensively with Ruby, Rails, Postgres, React, and Sass. You have experience with most of these technologies, and are eager to learn new ones.\n* You communicate well and collaborate with the whole team, be it to clarify product specifications or work through tough code problems.\n* You enjoy mentoring fellow team members in areas where you have expertise – and graciously accept mentorship in areas where you have an opportunity to grow.\n\nAbout Us:\n\n* We're a small team focused on opening up the old school real estate world.\n* Our goal is to build the best place for people to browse, shop for, and buy homes.\n* We employ an iterative approach to building products and deploy multiple times a day.\n* We have a big vision.\n* We believe in hiring smart people and giving them the support and flexibility to succeed.\n\nIf you work locally, you'll be in a relaxed and fun office in the Belltown neighborhood.\nWe're looking to hire the best people wherever they are in the world. If you don't want to relocate to beautiful Seattle, you should be awesome at working from home and available to join our daily standup at 9:30am Pacific Time. Some developers live in Seattle and come into the Estately office, while others live and work remotely, including from outside of the United States. We've had remote developers since 2011, and are seasoned veterans of working with a distributed team, across multiple time zones.\n\nOur Hiring Process\n\nWe believe in collaborative interviews where we work with you to solve realistic problems. We interview for practical skills in a one-on-one setting, and strive to use your preferred editor and tools whenever possible. Great candidates don’t usually write code on white boards, or implement basic data structures from scratch, so we won’t ask you to do that. We want our recruiting process to be transparent to you. It roughly consists of the following steps:\n\n     An initial call between you and a member of our team\n\nWe'll tell you more about the work that you'd be doing, and why we think Estately is a great place to work. You'll have the opportunity to ask us lots of questions, too. We'll ask you about your experience and some technical questions, mostly to get a feel for where you're at as we move forward with the process.\n\n     Individual Exercise\n\nWe have a few practical challenges to assess technical knowledge. Over the course of a few hours, you'll be fixing a bug in our app (that we've previously fixed), so we can see how you approach solving a realistic problem.\n\n     Pairing on a Few Potential Features\n\nDuring the pairing exercises you'll pair with one of our developers to implement an (existing) feature in the app. This will take a couple hours or so, and will mostly consist of discussion about approach, with some coding in the midst of it.\n\n     Discussion with representatives from our Product and Design teams\n\nAs a small team, all of our developers work very closely with product and design. These short sessions will give you a chance to meet and speak with the product and design folks that you would be working with on a regular basis.\n\nDiversity\n\nEstately seeks to increase the ratio of women and underrepresented minorities in software engineering and development, we encourage women and people from underrepresented groups to apply for this position. \n\nEstately is striving to be a diverse team, made of and built by people with different backgrounds and lifestyles. We don't discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, age, religion, color, or any other group.\n\nEstately is striving to be a diverse team, made of and built by people with different backgrounds and lifestyles. Helpjuice is a SaaS product with large Enterprise customers such as Hertz, US Government, Nginx and others. Expect to learn...a LOT. Not just in development, but in other areas aswell, as you'll be working w/ other team mates (support, sales, product management)\n- Interesting product to work on. I'm the CEO - and I'm writing this job post. I'm very hands off with my team, because we have a great team -- everyone is great, which is why I can just rely on them to do their job and NOT micromanage. TLDR; It's a fun work environment :-)\nHow To Apply?\nFill out ALL the questions in our application form -- if you don't want to share code samples, we totally get it, but we believe no good developer has 0 public repos on their Github (you may argue with us, but this is our policy). \n\nBe sure to mention the words **SAFE ACTRESS HOSPITAL** when applying to show you read the job post completely. # Our Story\n\nIn short, Security Roots helps make the Internet safer. We work with IT security professionals and ethical hackers to help them find security holes and vulnerabilities in systems before the bad guys do.\n\n\n\nThere is a lot of creativity and innovation involved in findings those holes. Unfortunately, it’s not all fun and games, in order for their “findings” to be useful, they need to document their results, track progress, notify stakeholders, review mitigations implemented, verify, re-test, etc. There is a lot of overhead involved in the process.\n\n\n\nSurprising no one, IT Security experts like the fun and games but don’t like the overhead/ back-office stuff. That’s where we come in, we exist to make the life of IT Security professionals easier, better, more enjoyable by making all of these overhead tasks easier and more painless.\n\n\n\nWe've been in business for 5 years, completely self-funded and profitable. Today, we serve over 440 Infosecurity teams across 37 different countries.\n\n\n\n\n\n# What’s the opportunity?\n\nWe’re looking to hire our 6th full-time employee, a well-rounded Rails developer.\n\nIn this role, you will learn a ton and be part of a small, global, and user-centered company. You’ll even report directly to Daniel Martin, the founder.\n\n\n\nYou’ll have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of 100s of hackers. Plus, as a small team, you will will have a lot of choice about what to work on, and there are still a lot of untapped opportunities for you to grow as the company does.\n\n\n\n![Daniel at the BlackHat conference](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-F7nk_6rb8B2qCVyuyU1kASsJyz83C4CmQsgl4MzaCZcY6qyPBkK9i7Qgp_W-UHklRlO0-kOUP269JImrK5zoPvRS1dh6zoAp-wWaLgdJTW3VfTH0DGMLVqT04q1xi6kn6SWPybt)\n\n_That’s our founder, Daniel, presenting on the conference floor._\n\n\n\n\n\n# What's in it for you?\n\n- **Work anywhere** – We're 100% remote.\n\n- **Flexible work hours** - Provided you have reasonable overlap with the team (roughly within EU/US Eastern business hours).\n\n- **Great salary** – You will be making more than others in your region.\n\n- **Flexible vacation** – Take time off when you need it, we trust you (no less than 4 weeks each year).\n\n- **No external pressures** - Our users are king, we do what's best for them. We're self-funded, and don't have any investors, so we can make the right decisions for our customers without worrying about artificial deadlines or financial targets.\n\n- **Autonomy** – You will be given a lot of freedom to do what you think is right, without needing to explain every decision.\n\n- **Meaningful work** – You will take initiative and ownership to see things through to completion. We won't micro-manage you. And your work will be measured by your results.\n\n- You will have great hardware and tools to work with.\n\n- Company retreats.\n\n# What we offer and what we are looking for\n\nYou'll be a trusted and key member of our team, and this is (some of) what you'll end up doing on a day-to-day basis:\n\n- Improve the experience for our users, help them get the results they need.\n\n- Detect opportunities to enhance and improve our stack.\n\n- Extend the coverage of our API layer.\n\n- Improve our existing products and internal systems. We want to learn from you as you learn from us.\n\n- Prioritize and decide what features we should tackle next.\n\n# Our stack\n\n- Rails 5\n\n- JS, Stimulus, CoffeeScript and Sass\n\n- Bootstrap and jQuery\n\n- Postgres and MySQL\n\n- Sinatra, Resque, Middlemanapp, Chef, Vagrant, Nginx, Unicorn,...\n\nWe're looking for a solid Rubyist with «adequate» experience who is comfortable in a 100% remote team and is self-driven.\n\nThis is a full-time position for the right candidate and it has an immediate start date. Work 100% remotely (although you need to have a home base - i.e. no perma-travellers this time, sorry!).\n\n# This position might be for you if:\n\n- You've held a remote position before, or you've held a similar position of responsibility in a traditional organisation but now are looking to **improve your work-life balance**.\n\n- You are a well-rounded individual, work is not everything in life, you may have a family and social life. You work hard when it's work time and are **able to switch off** when it isn't.\n\n- You're comfortable communicating with others verbally and in writing. **Our team is spread across the world**, and so are our clients.\n\n- You are organised, like to be on top of your responsibilities and don't let things slip through the cracks. You will be sure to include the name of your favourite tv series as part of your application.\n\n- You have a knack for design / UX will be a plus. Background in Information Security wouldn't hurt either.\n\n- **You believe in giving back to the community**. We started with an open-source project and to this day we remain firm believers of open-source and giving back. Part of what you will be creating with the team will be released as open-source. \n\nBe sure to mention the words **FAME NUCLEAR EXCUSE** when applying to show you read the job post completely.
