**Hi there,**\nWe are hiring Javascript Developers to help evolve our product from an MVP in pilot to a fully-fledged and scalable product. We’re accepting applications for the next few weeks with an ideal start date in early September.\n\n\n**About Scoutbase**\nScoutbase is a tool that helps shipping companies become safer, more productive and generally better workplaces.\nIn a nutshell, we do this by helping companies understand what makes daily work and life on a ship difficult for their crews.\n\nThe reason why this is valuable to maritime companies is that they suffer from a real lack of up to date, honest and actionable data on what’s difficult for their employees — which could even pose a risk to safety at sea!\nThe way we help those companies understand those challenges is by collecting real-time data directly from their seafarers.\n\nRight now we are focused on the maritime industry and on making life at sea safer for the 1.6 million seafarers out there. But we are exploring opportunities for using our technology to tackle the same lack of data in other industries.\n\n\n**About the Job**\nBuilding technology solutions for the maritime industry is challenging, but we already have a good MVP running and in the hands of pilot users. Now we are looking for a talented developer to bring Scoutbase to the next level.\n\nThis means we are looking for someone to take on this challenge and help us evolve our tech — and our company — over time.\n\nYou will pitch in on our product roadmap and come with ideas for new features. You will make sure our product runs smooth and bug-free. You will work on a product that puts a premium on reliability and user experience.\nThis is a job where you will see the impact of your work. A few months from now the business should look better with you on board. A definite before and after.\n\nThis is a big responsibility and we are here to support you, cheer you on, and make it happen.\nYou can expect to grow in your strengths, versatility, and competence in this job. You can expect an inclusive, eager team who’ll support you in it, rise to challenges with you, and grow together.\n\n\n\n# Responsibilities\n **If you are Front-end:**\nYou will be developing a single-page application based on server-side rendered React, Redux, styled-components and Apollo client that consumes GraphQL API.\n\nTech & Tools:\nJavascript (ES7) (a bit of Typescript)\nReact / Redux\nGraphQL & Apollo\nstyled-components\nWebpack\n\n\n**If you are Back-end:**\nYou will be developing server code in Node.js, developing our database in PostgreSQL and expanding our GraphQL implementation that supports a single-page application.\n\nTech & Tools:\nDocker\nJavascript (ES7) (a bit of Typescript)\nNode.js\nWebpack\nGraphQL & Apollo\nKnex.js & PostgreSQL\nRedis\nHeroku\nCloudFlare\n\n\n**If you are Full-stack:**\nYou will be developing a single-page application based on server-side rendered React, Redux, styled-components and Apollo client that consumes GraphQL API.\nYou will be developing server code in Node.js, developing our database in PostgreSQL and expanding our GraphQL implementation that supports a single-page application based on server-side rendered React.\n\nTech & Tools:\nDocker\nJavascript (ES7) (a bit of Typescript)\nReact / Redux\nNode.js\nWebpackReact / Redux\nKnex.js & PostgreSQL\nRedis\nGraphQL & Apollo\nHeroku\nCloudFlare\n\n \n\n# Requirements\n**About You**\nYou are creative. You are organized. You are experienced. You have done this before. You want to do it again. And you absolutely want to do it for us.\n\nYou are happy to work for a small startup, where things can change quickly and where priorities, roadmaps and plans might have to be adjusted to reflect new circumstances and opportunities.\n\nYou are excited about being in charge of your workstream and taking initiative.\n\nYou might have a Computer Science degree. You might not. That’s not the most important thing for us! We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here. A strong track record of conscientious, thoughtful work speaks volumes.\n\nThis is a remote job — if you want it to be. You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, coffee shops or of course in our HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark!\n\nIn order to make sure we all work well together in this setting it is important that you are good at managing your own time and projects reliably, meeting set deadlines and communicating with the rest of the team.\nWe do require that your normal workday has at least 4 hours overlap with the workday here in Copenhagen (UTC+1) without impinging on your personal/family life.\n\nThis means we accept remote applications from UTC-3, UTC-2, UTC-1, UTC +0, UTC+1, UTC+2, UTC+3, UTC+4, UTC+5\nEnglish is our company language — which means you need to be good at expressing yourself, both in written form and verbally.\n\n\n**Perks**\nFor us having a life outside of work is important! We are really not about nudging people to do overtime or trapping them in endless meetings. Just the opposite.\n\nWe are proud of working with flexible working hours, ample vacation time, and a four-day working week (usually Fridays are off)!\n\nQuality time to focus on work starts with quality time to think, exercise, cook, be with family and friends — time to yourself.\n\nWe are a small team and work in a very informal, collaborative and relaxed way — and keeping it that way is important to us.\n\n\n**Pay**\nWe pay between 360.000 DKK (54.000 USD) and 660.000 DKK (100.000 USD) a year, matching to your experience. \n\n#Salary\n54000 USD - 100000 USD\n \n\n#Location\n- 🌏Worldwide

**Tribe - a global sports startup based** in New Zealand and the Czech Republic is hiring a developer. **We're looking for talented Javascript developer **(can be either backend, frontend or full stack). **We're a 100% remote team, and have both revenue and traction.**\n\nTribe is a single destination for sport that is changing how people follow and consume sports results, news and information.\n\n# Responsibilities\n **Responsibilities for backend developer:**\n\nSpeed and accurate information is everything in the sports results world. As we're growing, the API and other services are becoming slower. We need to optimise, cache data, rewrite parts and build tools that help us identify weak spots. The challenge is that most of the time there is relatively little traffic, but during the busy times (when big games are on, largely over the weekend) our usage sky-rockets and the servers are unable to cope. \n\n**Responsibilities for frontend developer:**\n\nBesides the free consumer app (Ionic) we provide widgets (React) to big media partners (news media, broadcasters, betting agencies), who put these in their apps and on their websites. We're planning to build a web version of Tribe and the vision is to have one codebase for app / web / widget in React. \n\n# Requirements\n- Awesome JavaScript skills.\n- Frontend: experience with React apps (ideally big ones).\n- Backend: experience with micro service NodeJS architecture, AWS and MongoDB.\n- Proactive, ability to work independently - we're a small, remote dev team.\n- Willing to learn new things!\n\n**Offering:**\n\n- Work remotely from anywhere in the world.\n- Opportunity to work on an interesting product, with a global reach and user base.\n- Compensation negotiable based on experience.\n- Potential for equity. \n\n#Location\n- 🌏Worldwide

# The short version ⏳\n\n**Mission:**  Enhance the way the world learns.\n\n**Why:**  Learning infrastructure should focus on community, collaboration, conversation - not on being a digital file cabinet 🗄️. \n\n**Who:**  Humble, curious and builder-mentality. 7+ years of full-stack development.\n\n**How:**  React, React-Native, microservices in Node.js, Docker, AWS, Redux, Mongo.\n\n\n# What is [Aula](https://aula.education)? 🐝\n\nAula is a remote-first 40-person team from 12 nationalities building a communication platform for education. Think ‘Slack for Education’.\n\nPowered by an ecosystem of integrations, Aula is the foundational layer in the university tech stack that shapes a whole industry.\n\nWe built Aula because we believe digital infrastructure should encourage community and participation-based learning.\n\nWe’re backed by people like the founder of Unity, CTO at Eventbrite, a co-founder of Zendesk, a co-founder of JustEat and world-class VCs like Project A, BrightEye and Sunstone.\n\n![](http://f.cl.ly/items/3f0B20291K1Q261C1v2C/landingpage-platform.png)\n\n# Engineering @ Aula 🏔️\n\n## What we're building\n\nAula is a conversational platform for education.\nTo get a deeper sense of what that means and how that can foster engaging learning experiences, read more here:\n[Education starts with conversation: how we designed Aula](https://blog.aula.education/education-starts-with-conversation-how-we-designed-aula-126bc1fa8706)\n\n## Our tech stack\n\nA 10 min read from our CTO Oliver: [Bringing educational infrastructure into the 21st century - the stack](https://blog.aula.education/bringing-educational-infrastructure-into-the-21st-century-the-stack-be66b1a743c0)\n\n## Engineering challenges we're working on\n- Building frontend applications that deliver a seamless campus experience across devices (web, mobile, desktop)\n- Creating and maintaining the best infrastructure to deliver educational content and communication in real time.\n- Developing a powerful editor perfectly tailored for the creation of educational material and in-campus communication \n\n## [Product principles](https://blog.aula.education/product-principles-at-aula-398d1a2aa23f?source=collection_home---4------0---------------------)\n- Engagement first.\n- Enable educators to create the most engaging learning experiences.\n- Never more than 1 click away from human interaction.\n\n## Who we're building for \nWe're currently building for educators and students at universities. See what that means here:\n[Aula Personas](https://www.notion.so/e94ea2d2ca974d40ba4ae07638dcd459)\n\n## How our users benefit\n\n- **Students:** Aula means less one-way communication from the teacher, more collaboration with fellow students and easier access to student services like the welfare team. We aim to give every single student the sense of being part of their university’s community.\n\n- **Educators**: Aula means connecting with every student in your class and creating a truly engaging learning experience in a welcoming atmosphere.\n\n- **Universities**: Aula is a digital campus where the sense of belonging lowers student dropout rates and enables a move of focus from physical building to crafting distributed student experiences. \n\n[Here are some educators describing Aula in one word](https://cl.ly/b56b4d0ab0dd)\n\n## How our development team will look in 12 months\nEach product area will be led by a duo of a tech lead and a product manager, supported by full-stack contributors and tech leads on cross-platform areas like UI.\n\n![](http://f.cl.ly/items/0M3T0W2C3l1o0W2m2M3v/3c310693ccd93ce8220c7027bd047777screen_shot_2019_02_09_at_17.58.57.png)\n\n# Responsibilities\n We’re looking for a seasoned full-stack engineer to build features across the entire stack (front-end, back-end, mobile) and challenge our thinking on architecture. \n\n**Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be working on:**\n\n- Be part of leading a high-performing and inclusive team: inspiring team members, set priorities and own results\n- Building backend microservices\n- Pushing our thinking on core architecture choices\n- Working directly with Adrian, CPO and product designers, to build, maintain and improve slick user interfaces across devices\n- Switching between different apps and devices (web, desktop, iOS, Android)\n- Improving and maintaining our distributed architecture\n- Contributing to building a collaborative, productive and friendly remote workplace. \n\n# Requirements\n## We’d love to hear from you if… 🔍\n\n**You’re are the kind of person who**\n\n- Wants to foster a culture of no-ego team players who put the product first.\n- Adds another perspective to our team - for example, engineers who are women, transgender or identify as non-binary.\n- Thrives in caring and direct feedback environments.\n- Appreciates the value of diverse and inclusive teams.\n- Can arrange a working day with 4 hours of overlap with the workday in GMT.\n- Is excited to explore the world of remote working.\n- Consider yourself transparent, reliable and considerate.\n- Wants to join a 40-person startup journey with all the ups and downs.\n\n**You’ve done some of these things…**\n\n- Worked on both front-end and back-end, ideally 7+ years.\n- You have experience with React - unless you have significant Javascript experience with other libraries.\n- You have experience iterating on products from end-to-end (full feature).\n- Been part of excellent engineering teams as they scaled beyond 10 people.\n\n## Why join Aula? 🥕\n\n### Who we are 👋\n\nWe are a bunch of curious and silly-ambitious people who have set out to do our lives’ work. \n\n![A video call with people in 13 different countries.](http://f.cl.ly/items/2G2T3x3z0J0B2o3l3q2i/Image2019-01-21at2.17.51pm%20(1).png)\n\n### How we work remotely\n\nWe put a lot of care and thought into building a remote workplace full of collaboration, belonging and feedback.\n\n**We are building a product that fosters community and knowledge sharing in education, so we, of course ,eat our own dog food. 🐶**\n\n![](https://d2ddoduugvun08.cloudfront.net/items/333a1G0v2n0V2z1P0Y2i/Image_2019-02-26_at_7.29.00_pm.png?X-CloudApp-Visitor-Id=3264931)\n\n### Remote lunch 🍕\n\nEvery fortnight, we all grab a meal and meet on a Zoom link. Someone on the team volunteers to talk about something outside of work that they care about - from board games, to being a classroom teacher to bio-hacking. \n\n### Onboarding 👋\n\nThinking carefully about onboarding is crucial in distributed teams. We've carefully planned and iterated on an onboarding that quickly equips you with the technical knowledge, remote friendships and tips and tricks you need to feel at home and do your best work at Aula.\n\n### How we think about remote 📱\n\nWe see remote work as a creative constraint that forces us to think about what the ideal workplace looks like:\n\n> When 'mobile' became important, their small screens forced product managers, designers and engineers to rethink user interfaces - to remove clutter. This ended up affecting how people built desktop web pages. In the same way, remote work forces us to rethink work in a way that we think many standard office-based workplace could benefit from.\n\n### Benefits\n- **Personal development is part of being 'a high performer'.** You're supported in, and accountable for, your personal growth. You set the direction.\n- **Shared ownership:** Joining the Aula journey means you will own part of the company.\n- **Workspace**: Remote doesn't mean you have to work at home.\n- **Technology:** Get hooked up with the technology you need to do your best work.\n- **Free books:** Whatever you want to read.\n- **Family leave:** We offer enhanced family leave and pay - and a commitment to open, continuous communication.\n- **Travel stipends:** Go meet your colleagues.\n- **Flexible working:** We’re flexible about when and where you work as long as you have 4 hours of overlap with the workday in GMT.\n- **Company retreats**: Every 6 months, we meet up to connect, talk about big ideas and have fun.

We're a team passionate about changing education, looking for another set of ng-hands on keyboard to help reach our vision.\n\nWe see the old industrial 'one size fits all' approach to education as broken and we're working hard to fix it. We think that teachers hold the key to this, so we've built a product that gives them superpowers.\n\nWe've built the worlds best content creation into our platform, all in AngularJS. We're looking for someone who knows their way around JS and Angular better than their Dvorak keyboard.\n\nIdeally, you can write clean server side code too as in the end we are a startup and it's all hands on deck to reach our goal.\n\nWe've killed the rigid product roadmap for a dynamic one that is driven by customer happiness and engineering choice. \n\nCheck out team page http://myedapp.com/team to get to know a bit more about us. \n\n#Salary\n10000 - 20000\n \n\n#Equity\n3.0 - 5.0\n \n\n#Location\n- Sydney

We're looking for an experienced Front end Dev to aid our CTO in the enhancement of MediaPlugs core platform. We're looking to build out the analytical side of things by integrating social platform API's. This job is a project to complete a set of requirements (contract). In summary, we're look for someone with the following skills;\n\n- Set foundation for collecting the additional data we will be gathering - a NoSQL database (for various reasons we're thinking - MongoDB or Couchbase. Maybe we could leverage Firebase). One of the reasons - our future improvements will be semi-exploratory, i.e. we will not be able to do a one solid relational DB design and then stick with it, due to the unpredictable nature of our direction. NoSQL offers a tremendous schema flexibility, which allows for easier changes on-the-fly and doesn't demand uniformity. It also is much more straightforward for working with Javascript heavy applications, since the javascript data doesn't need to be translated into PHP and then SQL, which also greatly helps with maintainability. \n- So the task number one here would be isolating a specific NoSQL engine, most suitable for us and setting it up for both development and production. Then we'll have to figure out the initial schema, at least general direction. Then we can start bringing the data in from whichever sources we find - this will be a way to accommodate that data in a maintainable way.\n- Improve usability and security of Elasticsearch. There are security and backup concerns, as well as general interface. Also we could start utilizing Elasticsearch for internal logging, which we need to address too. Logstash and Kibana are the libraries that are commonly used for that part.\n- Establish a solid real-time capability either with Nodejs or Firebase. This is to both solve our current chat issues, as well as create a more solid platform for any further development, that is fast, light on resources and has a great real-time capabilities. \n \n\n#Salary\n4000 - 6000\n \n\n#Equity\n5.0 - 10.0\n \n\n#Location\n- Santa Monica

\nWe're one of the oldest PaaS's out there, with support for PHP/Ruby/node.js on AWS. As a Frontend Engineer, you'll be working on our brand new UI - a single-page angular.js app.\n\nThe UI is served up by a lightweight node.js server that proxies to our core ruby api. We unit test with jasmine, and run our end-to-end tests in protractor. Through our 'eybot' on slackhq, we deploy green CI builds to production multiple times a day.\n\nThe frontend engineering team at Engine Yard consists of 3 UI designers and 4 engineers (including myself). We're spread out across 8 timezones (Dublin through San Francisco), so experience working in a distributed team is key.\n\nYou will:\n\n\n* Write modern JavaScript for modern browsers\n\n* Have a significant influence on the UI architecture\n\n* Work with smart people every day\n\n* Be an integral part of a new era in an established startup\n\n\n\n\nYou might:\n\n\n* Build support for customers to deploy docker containers\n\n* Convert the UI to CommonJS modules via browserify\n\n* Rewrite our trial experience so it doesn't suck as much\n\n* Create near-realtime visualizations for server monitoring\n\n* Integrate 6to5 into our build system so we can use ES6\n\n* Learn to homebrew, or at least talk about how you want to\n\n\n\n\nYou'll get:\n\n\n* Competitive salary\n\n* Full medical, dental and vision benefits\n\n* 25 paid days off per year (15 PTO, 2 floating, 8 holidays)\n\n* 401(k)\n\n* We take care of your phone bill\n\n* Paid travel to conferences\n\n* Top of the line Macbook Pro\n\n\n

At Nimble HR, front-end engineers push the boundaries of what’s possible in web client applications. They are not constrained by the past, choosing to embrace new browser capabilities instead of laboring over elaborate fallback systems for browsers used by a tiny fraction of our users.\n\nThe primary responsibility of this role is simple: create the best possible user experience for features on desktop and mobile web. To do this, front-end engineers collaborate with designers to explore possibilities through visual and interactive mocks and then translate them into production code and markup.\n\nWhat skills do you need?\n\n\n\n\nNimble HR's front-end is structured as a single page application which is written using Node.JS, Socket.IO, Angular, SASS, Jade and other technologies, so you should be strong in these areas (or something comparable). \n\nWho are we looking for?\n\nWe want engineers who think systematically, implement quickly, and innovate eagerly; passionate people who want to build things.\n\nInterested? Let's talk. \n\n#Salary\n50000 - 100000\n \n\n#Equity\n1.0 - 5.0\n \n\n#Location\n- Florida

We are looking for a highly motivated developer to join our growing Web team. In this role you will work on designing and building elegant user interfaces that turn the complex problems of managing an app backend into a beautifully simple experience. You will be tasked with designing new interfaces and implement new features working alongside highly experienced members of the team. If you love designing a user experience as elegant as your code that powers it, we want to hear from you!\n\nAt Kinvey, we are building a platform that makes it possible for mobile developers to never have to worry about building and operating a backend. Our customers are engineers like you. They choose our platform because they want to focus on what matters most - the User Experience - and they leave the backend to us.\n\nABOUT YOU\n\nYou love learning:\nYou are a developer looking to express a more creative side, or a designer looking to dive into coding. Either way, you love the challenge of learning on the job with the support of the team around you.\n\nYou’re a team player:\nYou are opinionated yet thrive in a collaborative environment; you bring your ideas and an open mind, not your ego, to brainstorming sessions. You take the view of “strong opinions, weakly held”.\n\nYou’re a good communicator:\nWhether it is in email, chat, voice, tickets, code comments, design feedback, or in person, you communicate well with other people. When faced with a potential design solution, you can clearly articulate what you like or dislike about it.\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n* 1-2 years of experience in web development or design\n* Experience designing user interfaces for web applications\n* Fluency in Javascript\n\n\nBONUS\n* You’ve worked on or designed developer-focused products\n* Contributor/owner of open source projects\n* Experience with our current stack - Coffeescript, Ember.js, SASS, Bootstrap\n* Experience building mobile apps\n\nhttp://www.kinvey.com/careers/frontend-engineer \n\n#Salary\n70000 - 110000\n \n\n#Equity\n0.1 - 0.4\n \n\n#Location\n- Boston
