Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.\nWe are looking for a Precision Medicine Program Director, West to join our rapidly growing Oncology Sales team.\nWhat You Will Do\n\nDrive the business by focusing on the laboratory space of academic and community hospitals, as well as third party private laboratories nationwide. \n\nBuild strategic relationships through pathology departments, concentrating on precision medicine turnkey solutions, which in the end have the potential of generating a close collaboration with Tempus. \n\nInteract with Laboratory Medical Directors, Pathologists, Molecular Pathologists, Laboratory Professionals and Radiologists as necessary. \n\nWork closely with the Tempus oncology-focused team. \n\nDevelop key strategic initiatives and tactics to approach pathologists and identify opportunities to help Tempus productsโ align with needs of pathology labs. \n\nSell oncology services and products to Pathology and Laboratories.\n\nInstitutes reflex options to Tempus post internal panel testing and other considerations.\n\nProvides business solutions to hospital and laboratory professionals.\n\nAnalyze business opportunities and develop strategic sales plans for assigned territory.\n\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.\n\nUtilize market oncology understanding and experience while discussing the healthcare payer environment and its impact on physicians and ancillary providers.\n\nUnderstand information technology and how it interfaces with physician office systems. Able to demo different technology solutions, i.e. Portal, EMR connectivity and advise on hardware & software to enhance workflow efficiencies..\n\nDevelops and maintains "core" knowledge of competitive products, services, technology solutions, and reimbursement/billing issues.\n\nDemonstrates "core" level knowledge of anatomical pathology, technology solutions and competitive strategies through the use of company resources, on the job training, in house literature, marketing material, and sales brochures.\n\nEngages with on-site hospital billing departments to follow-up on specific claim details to support proper hospital payment, as appropriate.\n\n\n\nRequired Skills:\n\nDeep domain knowledge of the Diagnostic Services industry. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* Drive strategic business expansion/collaboration opportunities with the following:\n\n\n* Major U.S. cancer centers and clinics / Top 20 largest oncology practices in the territory\n\n* Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Academic Medical Centers (AMCs) within the specified territory.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Structure detailed strategic plans for gaining and retaining new and existing clients.\n\n* Maximize client-bill contracting opportunities\n\n* Implement laboratory services agreements (LSAโs) with bill account institutions\n\n* Collaborate and coordinate with all sales positions (VP, Sales, RSDโs, DSMโs, SAMโs, and GLโs) to ensure successful attainment of company goals and objectives\n\n* Identify and develop partnering opportunities between prospective oncology clients and Tempus.\n\n* Promote and drive compliance with new web-based molecular information tools for all clients\n\n* Continually analyze competitive landscape and environment within assigned accounts to determine trends and provide customer feedback to Tempus leadership\n\n* Monitor performance of sales to ensure objectives are met\n\n* Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the territory that will be inclusive of budgets, travel, territory management, goal setting, etc.\n\n* Work effectively with individuals across multiple departments throughout Tempus\n\n* Embrace, embody and represent the Tempus company culture at all times to external and internal constituents\n\n\n\n\nRequired Skills:\n\n\n* Ability to provide an integrated MolDx/SaaS solution using Tempusโs sequencing technology to prospects and customers.\n\n* Ability to engage in a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifferences while connecting client needs with Tempusโ capabilities.\n\n* Comfortable selling at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO)\n\n* Keen understanding of the payor and reimbursement environment in the oncology and diagnostic space\n\n* Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks while managing critical deadlines\n\n* Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology and the evolving competitive landscape\n\n* Ability to maintain an outstanding level of market, customer, distribution and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives\n\n* Excellent knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics and targeted agents\n\n* Excellent negotiation and customer service skills\n\n* Outstanding strategic sales account planning skills\n\n* Superior listening and problem solving skills\n\n* Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality\n\n* Demonstrate consistent closing abilities throughout the sales cycle\n\n* Possess a very positive attitude and an understanding of the dynamics involved with organizational growth and change\n\n* Impeccable oral and verbal communication and presentation skills\n\n* Must be very proficient with all Microsoft Office products โ particularly Excel and PowerPoint\n\n* Effective and regular utilization of Salesforce.com\n\n* Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals and objectives.\n\n* Advanced presentation skills and business acumen a necessity\n\n* Ability to work effectively with minimal direction from, or interface with, manager\n\n* Problem solving, decision making and technical learning\n\n* Advanced written and oral communication skills\n\n* Strong administrative skills and sophistication to manage business in complex environments\n\n* Demonstrate Tempusโ Values by acting with integrity, respect and trust \n\n* Frequent travel ( > 50%) throughout the territory as needed\n\n\n\n\nRequired Education & Experience:\n\n\n* B.S. in life science, biology, business or marketing โ MBA preferred\n\n* 3+ years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic setting with a history of proven past performance that has met and exceeded expectations.\n\n* Candidate must have 5+ years of experience working with major cancer centers and clinics, oncology GPOโs, large health systems, IHDNโs, and large oncology practices.\n\n* Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at either a diagnostic, pharmaceutical or relevant biotechnology company. \n\n\n\n#LI-NK1\n#LI-Remote \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
