Full Job Description Available Here:\n\nhttps://jobs.alongside.com/details/full-stack-developer-in-esports-startup/19264?utm_source=remoteok\n\n\n\nThe esports space is booming, and we're in the middle of it, working with some of the largest teams in the world to help them create better rosters, and work more efficiently with their sponsors. Also, we're funded by some of the largest VCs in the world, and others that are the largest in Canada. \n\nWe build SaaS apps, and you'll be leading the development of one of our offerings. You'll have a complete static mockup along with front end assets, including a UI/UX team to help you make changes on the fly. This means we don't need you to worry about design & UI/UX. You'll have a very experienced DevOps team to help you with deployment. You'll also work with a product manager who can help you translate mockup into functioning code.\n\nYou'll build a tool that interfaces with some of the world's largest social networks. You'll be consuming many social APIs (including our own!), and use the resulting content to make the lives of esports teams better.\n\nOur team is remote and experienced. We need you to be OK with the first attribute, and come loaded with the second. We love to play PC games during (solo) and outside of (group) working hours. Finally, you will not be micro managed. If you need that level of management, you're not the right fit.\n\n\nResponsibilities:\nBuild and maintain a SaaS product used by the largest esports teams in the world.\n\nWork with product management team to refine the product spec, and translate those specs into actual code.\n\nWork with the UI/UX lead to translate static mockup into working front end code.\n\nImplement custom analytics to help you understand how user cohorts are using the product you've developed, and then optimize for user experience accordingly.\n\n\nQualifications:\n2+ years of experience working in tech startups. 3+ years of experience as a developer. The roller coaster is something you're comfortable with.\n\nAble to build a SaaS app from the ground up with minimal supervision using a modern web framework (Django, Express, etc.)\n\nHands-on experience in web services (REST, OAuth etc.), API Development, and gateways/proxies.\n\nIntermediate knowledge and experience with MySQL\n\nStrong knowledge of client-side JS frameworks (Vue.js, React) and front-end tooling (Webpack, Gulp)\n\n\n\nSkills:\n\n- Frameworks\n\n- APIs\n\n- esports\n\n- MySQL\n\n- JavaScript\n\n\n\nAdditional Information:\nWork with people who have done this before, including world class VCs.\n\nA competitive startup salary\n\nStock options - a part of this company can be yours\n\nIf you apply for the job, mention any Twitch emotes somewhere in your application so we know you actually read this. If you don't, we'll just throw your app away (kappa). \n

Repable powers data-informed decision making for streamers and eSports athletes. Our passion is gaming, and we're constantly flipping back and forth between hard work and quick bursts of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League & other games. We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates. \n\nThis is a front-end development position, working closely with the back-end, product management and UI/UX design team members. Your will primarily be creating and developing user interfaces for gamers using our platform. They'll rely on the UI to make decisions about their weekly gameplay, and will make those decisions based on how you present data to them. We want someone passionate about UI/UX, who understands that development is a series of problem solving exercises to fulfill user goals. \n\nThis position requires prior experience. You're ideally not straight out of a programming boot camp, unless you were among the best in your class. You may need to create assets from time to time, but you'll be focusing largely on the development side of our user experience, onboarding and dashboards. \n\nWe’re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were. \n\nWhat your first year will look like:\n\n- You'll be constantly working with our UI/UX designer to iterate on and implement design concepts. As such, you won't need to spend a lot of time in asset-creation land (unless you want to), but rather in the code itself. \n- You'll guide the front-end vision of the company by choosing the languages and frameworks that we use, and make sure that they can scale with us appropriately. \n- You'll be making data-informed decisions, and will share tasks in the artful balance between putting your code out in the wild and tracking it to understand if it's working as intended. \n- You'll hit your head against the limitations of beautiful email mail-outs. More on that during the interview. \n\nRequirements:\n\n- The standard stuff you'd expect to see in any front-end position. CSS, HTML, frameworks, etc. You know what those things are and how to use them. \n- You understand how to present data to users, and the technical ramifications of your methods. This is a VERY vast topic, and you'll be expected to speak intelligently about it. \n- Worked in startups before. You understand the intricacies of working with a small team, and are ready to do it all over again. \n\nQualifications:\n\nExperience: 1 to 4 years experience in a similar role.\nLanguage: English\n- We substantially prefer experience over academia.\n\nSkills:\n\nUser Interface, Design User Experience, Data Visualization, Analytics, HTML, CSS \n\nPerks:\n\n- Work with people who have done this before\n- A competitive startup salary\n- Stock options - a part of this company could be yours\n- Grow the early stage of a company\n\n\nExtra tags: User Interface Design, User Experience, Data Visualization, HTML , CSS

We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates. \n\nWe’re currently looking for a back-end developer to turn our MVP into something scalable. The position requires a lot of flexibility and deep knowledge in scraping and API consumption. Ideally, you have experience working with startups and/or with analytics companies. You'll be working with a rounded team of individuals, including a product manager, a front-end developer and a dedicated UI/UX designer. Given that the team is small, you'll be able to dabble into many parts of the development process, while keeping a strong focus on our back-end services. \n\nWe’re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were. \n\nWhat Your First Year Will Look Like: \n\n- You'll be an integral part of building the Repable platform. This includes API integration with 3rd party sites, web scraping using AWS / cloud services, and the set up of a basic consumer-facing SaaS service back end.\n- You’ll play a role in the direction and growth plan of product, and implement that vision from a tech perspective. This means that some days, you’ll be discussing traffic growth and elasticity with the team, the advisors and investors of the company.\n- You’ll help the company stay real, by showing us solutions that will give us 80% of what we need for 20% of the cost. \n\nRequirements:\n\n- Mastery of web scraping and consuming information from third party APIs are a must. You'll have shown a track record of doing this in the past. \n- A thorough understanding of Amazon Web Services and competing suites of products. \n- Extensive experience in your front-end language of choice. No, really. We’re agnostic at this point, but we do have opinions. \n- You’ve successfully led or substantially participated in the development and deployment of a client-facing SaaS app. \n- You’re comfortable with product development and web operations. You can easily interact with product managers, designers, engineers, web operators and BI / analytics teams. \n- You can tell us during our initial meetings all about SaaS apps and what particular challenges they bring, and how you’ve overcome some of them.\n- You’ll temper dreams and be able to propose solutions that will give the company 80% of what it needs for 20% of the cost. \n\nQualifications:\n\nExperience: 1 to 5 years experience in a similar role.\n\nSkills:\n\nSystem Architecture, Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API consumption, Web Scraping, Backend Development \n\nPerks:\n\n- Work with people who have done this before\n- A competitive startup salary\n- Stock options - a part of this company could be yours\n- Grow the early stage of a company\n\n\nExtra tags: Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API Consumption, Web Scraping, Back-end Development

\nVantage Sports is looking a killer full stack developer to join a small team hacking the sports/esports world.\nIf you're interested in sports or esports at all, check out our company profile to understand what we're all about. In a nutshell, we collect a vast amount of sports-related data (which nobody else has or can get) and use it to power a number of analysis products that we sell to professional franchises, media outlets, and fans. We've been very well-received in the NBA and are now expanding into the growing eSports world.\n\nWe're an engineering-focused company trying to replicate the best parts of our former employers (Google, Microsoft, etc), building small cross-functional teams that own the stack top-to-bottom.\n\nWe're funded, but not bloated. Operation efficiency is very important to us. We all wear a lot of hats. After all, we believe that 3 well-equipped software wizards are worth 20 marginal 'contract' coders. We believe that it's a fantastic time to be a software developer with the tools available at our disposal - and that we're truly the architects of our future. We believe in code quality, automating-the-everything, and deploying every single commit. Our tech stack is our bread and butter. It's a Dockerized microservice architecture running in Kubernetes clusters. Most APIs are written in Go. Our frontends are javascript-heavy (mostly-React-based) web apps.\n\nIf this sounds like an interesting opportunity to you we'd love to chat!
