Context is a mission-driven organization at the intersection of travel and education. We are currently operating under two brands: Context Travel (international tour operator, self-hosted site) and Context Learning (online seminars and courses, hosted on Shopify Plus) and will be integrating the two brands imminently.\n\nContext is looking for a self-starting senior developer who can step into a leadership role from day one and take full ownership of the codebase. This is a rare opportunity to build a strategy and team without needing to also lay infrastructure from scratch. The ideal candidate is looking forward to managing and growing a team of engineers but hasn’t quite left behind their love of rolling up their sleeves and writing code. Your time to start would be spent ~30% coding, 40% managing and hiring teams, 30% strategy.\n\nWe are looking for this candidate to have the following experience:\n* Minimum of five years developing software\n* Experience managing, coaching, and growing teams\n* Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, including the RSpec testing framework\n* Experience developing Shopify applications\n* SQL proficiency: Can write moderately complex SQL queries and can use indexes effectively to improve performance\n* A passion for clean, RESTful APIs; ability to write, debug, and project-manage APIs\n* DevOps experience including configuring and deploying servers\n* Experience writing tests; familiarity with monitoring systems like Airbrake and Newrelic\n* Other nice-to-have experience: Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks and build tools, experience developing secure frontend applications, integrating SMS systems like Twilio, Elasticsearch, Fastly, integrating ESPs, Rackspace and AWS, CDNs, token oauth, experience with Stripe payment systems, experience with machine learning and recommender systems\n\nIn addition to the above, we’d like to see the following soft traits:\n* Embrace lean principles (eliminate waste, deliver frequently, build integrity in, etc.)\n* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills\n* Humble collaborator and team player\n* Voracious desire to learn\n* Believer in the transformative power of cultural travel \n\nIn exchange, we are thrilled to offer:\nA supportive, mission-oriented work environment under an all-female leadership team\n* Unlimited access to learning and tour experiences\n* A competitive salary with 401K (+ match) and health insurance\n* Unlimited PTO\n* A remote-first work policy\n* An annual company retreat to connect with international colleagues “IRL” when it is safe to do so\n\nThis is a full-time role that we are looking to fill as soon as we find the right candidate. The Senior Developer will report to our Miami-based Chief Commercial Officer. We were a distributed team prior to COVID and have well-established remote-work practices. You must have your own laptop and a strong wifi connection. US East Coast hours preferred. Context is an equal opportunity employer. We regret that we cannot sponsor international applicants at this time. \n\n#Salary or Compensation\n$140,000 — $170,000/year\n\n\n#Location\nUs

Otis is looking for talented frontend engineers to bring our vision of democratizing wealth to life. We're not looking for rockstars or ninjas; we're simply looking for smart people who are always willing to learn, enjoy collaborating, and never shy away from a challenge.\n \nYou'll be joining a lean engineering team working to build a consumer facing app at the intersection of culture and fintech, poised to scale in the coming year.\n\nNote that we are open to a range of commitment levels (full-time, part-time, and contract work) and are happy to work with team members to find the best work structure for their lives.\n\n**What you'll do:**\n* As a frontend engineer, you will play a key role building our mobile app in React Native and Redux.\n* This includes building new features, maintaining and improving our codebase, and providing feedback on APIs and architecture.\n* Our team is highly collaborative, and you’ll also have the chance to provide feedback on everything from culture to architecture, as well as team operations and the overall product.\n\n**Who you are:**\n* You have 2+ years experience with React or Vue.\n* You are obsessed with clean code. You take pride in great class design and choosing the right level of abstraction. Tests are your best friend.\n* You love keeping up with the latest developments in the mobile world. Last year, you were mad that Hooks for React hadn't been released yet.\n* You're familiar with REST APIs. You immediately wrinkle your nose when you see POST /update_name.\n* We prefer generalists over specialists and look for candidates with a history of pushing past their comfort zone and learning new things.\n* You understand—and are excited to join—an early stage company and have the opportunity to play a critical part in building the app and new features.\n* U.S. work authorization with no visa sponsorship required.\n\n**Want to learn more?**\nTake a look at our culture docs (here: [https://www.notion.so/otiswealth/Curious-about-Otis-46df28b7e37c4b1fa5e4681a0efda4e4](http://)), including details on compensation, potential projects, and more.\n\n**About Otis**\nAt Otis, we turn aficionados into shareholders. We believe in transparency, liquidity, and trusting your own gut. We're democratizing an otherwise closed market and making alternative assets accessible. Invest in the things that you value, and whose value you understand, for as little as $25 and build a portfolio better suited to a museum than a stock ticker.\n\n**Our Culture**\nWe have a saying here: “we design our culture like we design the product.” Culture is the most important foundation for a successful company. A great culture provides the context for people to deliver their best work. Our goal is to find the fastest way to win. Our culture is designed to allow us to achieve this (read more here: [https://www.notion.so/otiswealth/Culture-cf25a1c921b142b2a67ae993493bae13](http://)).\n\n**Transparent Compensation**\nWe don’t believe that better negotiators necessarily make better employees. Every employee can see their current salary, the salary levels for their team, and what each level’s salary increase would amount to in the future. This allows us to offer equal pay to all employees.\n\nOtis is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a culture where diverse thoughts are welcomed and rewarded. \n\n#Salary or Compensation\n$125,000 — $200,000/year\n\n\n#Location\n🇺🇸 US-only

**About Us**\n\nRoger was founded to make day-to-day financial operations like bill pay, expense management, compliance and bookkeeping as worry-free as possible for business owners, finance teams, accountants and bookkeepers. Roger works as an automated layer on top of a company's accounting software, saving businesses and accountants hours of work every day. We're proud of the product that we've built so far, and our global customer base agree that we're making something complex and tedious simple and maybe even fun.\nWe are backed by some of the best investors in the financial technology space, and most recently raised $7.5m from QED, Silicon Valley Bank and others. Joining Roger is a unique opportunity to join a team that's still small enough to be nimble but has great financial backing and cares about building an excellent product experience and a great team. We hire for attitude and not credentials. Please apply regardless of your educational background.\n\n**The Opportunity**\n\nThe Roger web application is the client with the highest usage by customers and users. A great web experience is essential for an excellent overall customer experience in Roger, and it's a priority for us to invest in improving and building out our web offering.\n\nWe are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to be an integral part of the small clients team (iOS, Android, Web). You'll be able to take a leading role in delivering an excellent web experience to our 1,000+ customers and our thousands of users. Your primary tasks will include:\n\n* Working with the product and backend engineering team to implement new features on the frontend\n* Making sure the web client can scale 7-10x in the next year\n* Maintaining security and stability during rapid growth\n* Help mitigate and resolve bugs / work with the customer support team to resolve frontend bugs\n\nYou'll be working collaboratively with the rest of the engineering team as well as with the product team to drive the implementation and release of new features. You'll get familiar with all parts of our stack from end to end, and will drive positive change to Roger's engineering culture, processes and technology. We see this role as a unique chance to take a large ownership over an important piece of the Roger product, and grow into any role you see yourself in as we expand the team and the product.\n\n**The Team**\n\nThe engineering team is characterized by a high degree of support internally. We help each other out and pitch in when problems arise as well as give each other feedback to grow. Our top priority is to build the world's best financial automation platforms, while keeping our users safe and compliant. Scalability, reliability and robustness are keywords we live by but we also get excited about building out feature MVPs quickly to keep our innovative reputation with customers and partners alive and well at all times.\n\n**The Stack**\n\nWe use as a frontend stack React/Redux for modularity, simplicity and speed of development. Tests are run in Jest and Puppeteer and our landing sites are optimized for server-side rendering using Next.js. Our backend / API is built in C# / .NET for it’s robustness and security and our machine learning runs on Python.\nSome of the tools we use are Lamda (for integrations), AWS, Bugsnag, Heroku, CircleCI and other great tools to keep our development processes running smoothly.\n\n**Our Values**\n\nWe're a global company with offices in Copenhagen and San Francisco. Our values are heavily influenced by our Scandinavian roots (both founders are from Denmark), and count humility, humor and inclusiveness. We strive to create a culture where anyone feels part of the family, and we place a great amount of value in hiring for attitude rather than resumes. We support flexibility in everyone's lives, and working at Roger can be easily combined with babies, toddlers and teenagers. We have two primary office locations but have a remote culture that we put a lot of effort into as we believe great talent can be found anywhere. As a remote worker you can be sure to feel like you are as much part of the team as those who come to an office every day. About every 6 months we all get together in person. Our last trips took us to Greece and Spain. Everyone on the team shares a passion for creating the best possible product and user experience, and that is something we value in future team members as well.\n\n**The Roger Story**\n\nRoger's founders started the company after exiting their first startup to Cisco Systems. Having experienced all the frustrations with daily financial operations when starting previous ventures, the first gist of an idea for Roger was born in 2016. Since then, international investors from both Europe and the US have supported the growth of the team and the customer base, and the product is now used and loved by thousands of customers worldwide.\nRoger is an equal opportunity employer. We strive to maintain and develop our inclusive work environment and welcome members of all backgrounds and perspectives. \n\n# Requirements\n* Customer empathy and the ability to think through customer needs and come up with clever ways solve their problems is something you're good at and excited about\n* You have an interest in building robust UIs with modern tools like ES6, React, Redux\n* You're passionate about building production-ready features fast\n* You have a high bar for the quality of code and automating repetitive development tasks as well as a high attention to detail \n\n#Salary or Compensation\n$1/year\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide
