# **Senior Software Engineer**\nWe are looking for a strong, independent engineer with product experience. At Duet, you can expect to own a large part of the product, with lots of control on future development.\n\nAs part of the team, you will be responsible for desktop engineering to build and maintain a reliable, scalable product. Programming experience in JavaScript, Objective C, C++, Kotlin is a bonus.\n\n* Comfortable learning new languages and ideas.\n\n* Application architecture experience\n\n* Deep understanding of MV* concepts\n\n* Familiarity with concurrency, and memory management and how they apply to applications.\n\n* Comfortable working with the different libraries and components on macOS.\n\n* Experience collaborating with a cross-functional team including UI/UX\n\n* Experience or interest in project advisory, contributing strategically and/or mentoring.\n\n\n\n\nOther things to know:\n\n\n* While we leverage specific job titles for hiring purposes, we do not use them internally. Instead, we follow our own professional levels with expectations clearly defined across several dimensions.\n\n* We are a small, remote team distributed across time zones, and we rely on a variety of communication tools throughout the day\n\n* Sometimes we meet up! Your main task will be to research, design, and implement effective detection rules based on results from our static and dynamic analysis. You will be responsible for identifying typical malware behavior patterns by analyzing macOS malware and eventually turning your findings into detection rules. You will collaborate with the rest of the development team to provide insights that help improve the efficacy and performance of VMRay Analyzer. The job requires a strong interest in gaining an in-depth understanding of macOS internals, such as official and unofficial APIs, binary file formats, kernel internals, etc. You will have to keep yourself and the team up to date with the current macOS malware landscape.\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n* Strong interest in macOS internals and malware analysis\n\n* Good knowledge of macOS API\n\n* Proficient with Python programming or at least one similar high-level programming language\n\n* Experience in malware analysis is a plus\n\n* Fluent in English\n\n* On-site employment at our headquarters in Bochum (partial remote work possible)\n\n\n
