The Voltus platform connects any distributed energy resource (DER) to any energy market across the US and Canada, providing flexibility, reliability, and resilience to the grid while generating revenue for our partners. By partnering with industry leaders and the DER ecosystem, we are building the decarbonized, distributed, decentralized, and digitized energy system of the future. \n\n\nVoltus is a remote and virtual company, distributed across US, Canada, and abroad. While this job is remote, you must be within 4 hours of North American Eastern Time - GMT-1 to GMT-9. \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Role\nAs a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Applications team, you will build UIs and client-side web applications to help our team of energy market experts manage complex distributed resources in wholesale energy markets. At the same time, you will build apps to make our customersโ€™ lives easier while they get paid for using less energy.\n\n\nYou have experience with modern web development frameworks (especially React) and are comfortable working on the API layer when you need to. You have the product chops to create beautiful customer-facing tools or functional internal tools, and have the judgment to know which to build when. You will have full responsibility for hardware development, coordinating with other cross-functional team to assure successful qualification per company and industry standards to produce reliable flight hardware for re-usable launch vehicles.\n\nAs a Responsible Engineer (RE) for avionics hardware, you are responsible for all aspects of the product design, development, qualification, and hardware production. You will:\n\n\n* Develop, manage, and maintain a full system design and its associated documentation (CAD, drawings, ICDs, BOMs, etc)\n\n* Provide technical support during flight build, test, and delivery to other areas of the technical execution team\n\n* Work closely with the program and manufacturing team through build, test, and delivery of flight hardware.\n\n* Support the development of the Automated Test Equipment and transition of the product from development to production release.\n\n* Support the development of the hardware requirements, test plans and procedures in compliance with company and industry standards. \n\n* Be responsible for the successful qualification of the hardware.\n\n* Serve as the subject matter expert for integration into the vehicle and assist in troubleshooting and vehicle integration.\n\n\n\n\nWe are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!\nMinimum Qualifications: \n\n\n* Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years of direct experience in electronics hardware development\n\n* Experience with power conversion and vehicle power distribution design topologies and high voltage electronics,\n\n* Experience with conducted and radiated emission requirements\n\n* Familiar with fault-tolerant and high reliability systems\n\n* Familiar with testing and qualifying hardware per standards like MIL-STD-1540, DO-160, or SMC-S-016\n\n* Hands-on experience with the understanding of full product development lifecycle of electronics hardware\n\n* Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs\n\n* Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion\n\n* Highly organized team player with excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal)\n\n* Ability to travel to and work at remote sites supporting test integration, commissioning, and training\n\n* Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum\n\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\n* Graduate degree in electrical or aerospace engineering or a related field\n\n* 7+ years of recent electronics or power systems development for hardware used in harsh or space environments\n\n* Sound knowledge and understanding of power conversion design topologies, high voltage and high-power electronics, grounding, and analog circuit design\n\n* Strong understanding of electronics design and integration with mechanical systems for structural and thermal support\n\n* Experience using Altium (or similar tools) for schematic capture and layout.\n\n* Experience using LTspice (or similar tools) for circuit simulations. \n\n* EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent\n\n* Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, Testing, Travel and Engineer jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $105,000/year\n
