Nadine West is hiring a Remote Senior Full Stack Rails Engineer

Founded in 2013, Nadine West sends personalized outfits to your doorstep every month. No subscription fees. Pay for only what you like.\n\n**DESCRIPTION**\n\nReporting directly to the Lead Engineer, you will dive in and take ownership of our existing codebase, helping extend and scale our bespoke recommendations engine, order management, inventory, shipping, and reporting components.\n\nThis is a great opportunity to help lead the engineering team of a startup that is already profitable, already a well-known brand for women, but is still growing fast even in COVID times. We need someone who can not only build our existing codebase, but also push the envelope, as we are developing some sophisticated data science capabilities, similar to Netflix, Amazon, and Stitch Fix.\n\nFounded in 2014, Nadine West sends personalized outfits to our customers’ doorsteps every month. We are based in Austin TX, but we are a remote-first company, so you can live and work anywhere.\n\n**REQUIREMENTS**\n\nYou partner with stakeholders to understand the business needs and design right-sized solutions, able to move from open-minded design thinking to breaking problems down and iterating to create working software.\n\nYou have built, launched, extended, and maintained a business-critical Rails app long enough to learn from your decisions, and love sharing those stories.\n\nYou have time-tested beliefs about code quality, testing, architecture, database design, ORMs, and build vs. buy tradeoffs, and enjoy articulating those beliefs to your colleagues.\n\nYou’re at home owning the entire product development cycle (design, dev, testing, release, monitoring).\n\nYou’ve managed CI/CD pipelines and love auto-deploying to production after your well-honed tests pass.\n\nYou cherish focused, low-interruption deep work like we do (See Basecamp’s “Is Group Chat is Making you Sweat?” and Cal Newport’s “Deep Work”).\n\nYou’re excited to work remotely, but also excited to share a US timezone and let us host you in Austin one day!\n\n**BENEFITS**\n\n* This position pays somewhere between your local pay and Austin pay (Google “Austin senior software engineer salary”.)\n* You can work and live anywhere that makes you happy.\n* We have always been a remote work company, collaborating across multiple continents. We believe you should be free to work whenever and wherever you choose.\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n$80,000 — $120,000/year\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

Hi there! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Xavier Armand and I am the co-founder of The Vaan Group (www.vaangroup.com): a fully remote UX design and engineering agency with headquarters in NYC. We’re looking to hire a senior frontend engineer to work on e-commerce projects. \n\nWe build commerce engines. We're not a 360 agency. We're not a marketing agency. We're a design and engineering studio. That’s our difference. Our e-commerce stores are designed and built to give our clients a technical edge over their competition. To do this, we synthesize business requirements, UX requirements, marketing requirements, technology requirements and creative requirements into a single digital shopping experience built for our clients and their consumers – a commerce engine. Our technology becomes the foundation upon which business' scale their operations, escalate their marketing efforts and grow their sales. The value of our work is defined by how big of a moat our clients’ technology creates between them, their competition, and Amazon.\n\nOur clients range from large e-commerce enterprises (>$100M per year) to successful mid-stage ($1M - $100M per year) direct to consumer (DTC) e-commerce brands. We very often work with the following platforms: Shopify Plus, Contentful. DatoCMS, ReCharge Payments, and Algolia\n\nWe’re a realistic group, not looking for rockstar ninja wizards or whatever people say these days. Our team resides (or is working from) around the USA, Poland, Spain, Brazil, and Norway. We are looking for someone with Shopify experience who's built custom frontend experiences (themes, apps, features). \nYou should be comfortable working solo or leading a team.\nYou should feel comfortable taking responsibility for a completion and launch of a project.\nYou should care about the quality of the code and the output.\nYou would work closely with our CTO.\n\nBy experience I mean we're looking for someone who's led the development of commercially available e-commerce websites or apps built or integrated with Shopify. \n\n Agencies are problem solvers by nature - we often march forward with 70% of a brief and our clients expect us to complete the puzzle. A perfect candidate has well-formed opinions, great discipline, naturally established work habits, and takes delight in their work.\n\nA great quote about what we're looking for from people who have been managing remote teams longer than us:\n\n"Everyone has to be an A-player. Remote team members are used to four to six hours of focused, uninterrupted work every day. You have to be able to get through problems on your own and be productive without asking for help. There’s no substitute for skill and experience in those cases."\n\nWe look forward to hearing from you!\n\n#Location\nEurope or Latin America

We are Shogun 👋. We help brands take on Amazon with faster and better sites of their own. We have over 15,000 active paying clients and most of them are [happy](https://apps.shopify.com/shogun#reviews).\n\nWe were in the Winter 2018 batch of Y-Combinator, we just raised a Series B investment. You can read more in [TechCrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2020/10/07/shogun-raises-35m-to-help-brands-take-on-amazon-with-faster-and-better-sites-of-their-own/).\n\nOur teams are fully distributed and global (check out our [team page](https://getshogun.com/about))! You still don't know if SEO is a science or art (or magic)\n- You can write clean CSS and reusable components. You know you don't need jQuery this decade\n- You have done some Shopify work before and you really dislike liquid\n- You are crazy about optimizations. You only stop optimizing when the only issue on PageSpeed Insights is the ga script. You wish you could remove it 😆\n- You know that Lighthouse is indeed not the tower at the end of a picturesque beach, but rather a finicky tool you are determined to wrangle\n- Your emotional resilience is pretty high and you really enjoy helping people. You can talk with other humans. You can explain ARIA to my mother\n\n### Responsibilities\n- Support agencies and customers with [Shogun Frontend](https://getshogun.com/frontend) builds. You will discuss architecture, you will be the technical guru during the implementation. You will celebrate when it is shipped 🚀 and you will measure the results closely and with bated breath. \n- You will have to review and improve some shocking code that will make you fall off your chair. You will fight against external scripts. You will be the guardian of best practices\n- Build awesome internal tools that make your life easier and help the team to ship things faster\n- You will be organized and communicate decisions, issues, and lessons learned internally to the squad and externally to agencies and clients. You love a little bit of show and tell.\n\n### Our Values\n- *Work in the open:* Operate with high integrity and choose what's right over what's easy. Be transparent as a company and with each other\n- *People are People:* Treat yourself, colleagues, and customers with dignity, empathy, and respect. Start from a presumption of positive intent\n- *Win and grow together:* Strive to be the best, individually, and as a team. Support and encourage each other. Hey there 👋 \n\nWe are **SomewhereWarm** — a tiny, support-driven software team behind some of the most sought-after WooCommerce plugins in existence. \n\nWhat drives us? Helping new entrepreneurs see their ideas grow and succeed with WooCommerce. What unites us? The courage to measure success not only through numbers; but through our capacity to learn, grow, and re-invent ourselves.\n\nWe know what it takes to write great software, and take pride in how our [customers talk about our work](https://woocommerce.com/vendor/somewherewarm/). But there is still a lot to build and learn — and we need your help to make it happen.\n\nAre you comfortable hopping across the human and technical side of software? Can you recognize a product-minded Support team when you see it? If yes, you're in luck: We are looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join our happy, calm crew!\n\n\n**THE JOB**\n\nAs a Support Engineer at SomewhereWarm, you will be responsible for providing an amazing support experience to our customers. You will:\n\n* Help WooCommerce merchants succeed with our software using HelpScout.\n* Walk the fine line between user “wants” and needs, keeping an eye out for trends and valuable product insights.\n* Use critical thinking to identify and investigate bottlenecks and bugs.\n* Validate new features and fixes, and suggest improvements.\n\nYour [role](https://somewherewarm.com/pillars-of-support/) will often require you to solve tricky riddles that go far beyond basic troubleshooting: To succeed, you will need:\n\n* some hands-on experience with front-end development; combined with \n* a deep understanding of what it takes to build trust and empathize in writing. \n\nOn your first few weeks with us, your new teammates will guide you through a training plan that has been designed to help you get up to speed with our products and operating procedures. In parallel with your main responsibilities, and depending on your experience, you will be encouraged to:\n\n* Learn more about front-end development and testing.\n* Help us refine our customer-driven culture.\n\n\n**YOU**\n\nWe are looking for a great writer and communicator with a highly developed sense of compassion and empathy. You:\n\n* possess native-level fluency in written English;\n* understand how to build trust through clarity and empathy in writing; and\n* are comfortable with written, asynchronous communication and self-directed work.\n\nOn a technical level, you:\n\n* understand how the web works and are comfortable with its core technologies;\n* have some professional front-end development experience; and\n* are not intimidated by your browser’s Developer Tools.\n\nBonus points if you have:\n\n* previously supported a software product;\n* worked with WordPress and WooCommerce.\n\n\n**SOMEWHEREWARM**\n\nAt SomewhereWarm, we support a life well-lived, at work and away from it. We value autonomy and trust, and are passionate advocates of remote work. If you like the idea of joining a team to work and grow with, and not for, then [Ilia, Jason, Maria, Chris and Manos](https://somewherewarm.com/about/) would love to hear from you!\n\nWe offer:\n\n* a flexible leave policy (paid up to 4 weeks/year);\n* your own learning and development fund;\n* top-of-the-line Apple hardware;\n* a calm atmosphere and laid back attitude that encourages you to do — and to be — your best;\n* the freedom to work from: a) home, b) your favorite coffee shop, c) a sunny beach, or d) our awesome office space in Athens, Greece.\n\n\n**A DAY AT WORK**\n\nWondering what it’s like to work with us? Here’s how a day in your new life might be:\n\n* 09:30 AM — You wake up at home and grab a coffee or snack.\n* 10:10 AM — You review your e-mail, check Slack for new messages from the rest of the team, and then join everyone for the team’s virtual stand-up.\n* 10:20 AM — After getting looped in on the team’s status, you open HelpScout and scan new tickets for issues or questions that might need immediate action. Then, you continue working on tickets that you handled during the previous day.\n* 11:00 AM — For the next couple hours, you help WooCommerce store owners and developers get the most out of our products. From assisting with new setups to solving complex technical riddles, there’s always a new challenge to overcome, every day!\n* 13:00 PM — A teammate has written a small CSS customization for a customer and needs a sanity check from you! You review the request and the snippet together, and then share it with the customer.\n* 13:30 PM — A bugfix that you’ve been waiting for is ready! First, you confirm that automated tests are passing. Then, you build a patched, pre-release version of the plugin and share it with the customer.\n* 14:00 PM — The support queue is cleared, so you decide to take a break for a couple hours and do some more work later. Before logging off, you quickly write a note about a feature request you’d like to discuss at the team’s product hangout.\n\nLater, you grab your laptop again to work on a few more tickets — or perhaps you dust off your writing skills to help the team ship a major release: You review/update documentation, or write about a new feature in our blog.\n\nSounds interesting? Apply! \n\n#Salary and compensation\n$35,000 — $45,000/year\n\n\n#Location\n🇪🇺 EU-only

SkyVerge is looking for a talented full-stack senior PHP engineer to join our team and help build our portfolio of WordPress plugins for WooCommerce. You'll write code that helps power mission-critical tools for millions of online stores.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll focus on building new features and maintaining existing code, while also helping with code reviews and customer support. With over 60 different plugins, there’s a wide variety of work. You might spend time on some complicated frontend interactions using JS, then switch focus to working with a tricky external REST API for a while, and later work on adding unit/acceptance tests to our framework code.\n\nYou’ll have the opportunity to really dive into a problem and understand it before crafting a well-engineered, high quality solution. We believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time to think and code.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress and designed to work with WooCommerce, so we use PHP 5.3+ (moving soon to PHP 5.6 minimum) and we write all new JS in ES6. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and actively invest in tooling & testing to improve both the quality of our products and the happiness of our team building them. \n\nWe work primarily through GitHub and Slack, so you should be able clearly express your ideas via comments and messages. All new code is tested and peer-reviewed, so you’ll be able to both learn from the rest of the team and share your knowledge.\n\nAs one of our senior engineers, the team will look to you for advice and direction. You’ll help shape our best practices, decide on libraries & tooling, and refactor older or underperforming parts of the codebase. You’ll also be responsible for moving your projects forward, communicating your progress and milestones with others, and clearly documenting your work.\n\n**Process**\n\nAfter an initial screening, you’ll get an email with a few questions to answer. Following that, you’ll have a few 45 minute phone chats with different people on our team to learn more about you and answer any questions you have about the position and company. \n\nThe most qualified candidates will then be invited to complete a short one-day research project. If this goes well, we’ll invite you to the final stage of our evaluation process: the trial project. During this 1-2 week period, you’ll work closely with our team as a paid contractor to develop & ship a small feature. This gives you an opportunity to make sure you enjoy the work and the team, and it gives us an opportunity to evaluate your work. We’ll have regular chats each week to share feedback and make sure we’re on the same page. At the end of the project, if all goes well, you’ll be offered a permanent position. 🙂 \n\n**Benefits**\n\nHere are some benefits we're happy to offer to our team members:\n\n* Competitive salary\n* Annual incentive for meeting team and company goals\n* 27 days of paid time-off, in addition to 2 company holidays (SkyVerge Day in March, Founders Day in June 😀)\n* Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for US and Canadian residents and their families (reimbursements for comparable care for non-US/Canadian residents)\n* 401k/RRSP Retirement plan with 4% company match for US/Canadian residents (contributions to comparable plans for non-US/Canadian residents)\n* Up to 8 weeks paid parental leave for new mothers and fathers\n* Work flexible hours from anywhere that has a reliable internet connection\n* Tools (hardware/software) to help you be productive\n* Allowance for professional growth (books, courses, conferences)\n* Home office or co-working allowance\n* A Kindle to help you keep learning\n\n*We support workplace diversity and do not discriminate on any protected class. We believe when we work together as a team of different views, experiences, and ideas, we can build amazing things.*\n\n# Responsibilities\n **Here are some things you may do on a given day:**\n\n* Research and write a pitch to refactor the data model for our shipping extension\n* Refactor an underperforming class after profiling it in your local environment\n* Troubleshoot an issue with our Memberships plugin by deep-diving into the content restriction class\n* Analyze a slow SQL query and suggest ways to improve it\n* Construct a detailed, multi-step data migration to move data from a custom post type to a custom table, write unit tests for it, and manually user test / QA it.\n* Review a pull request from another team member for readability, maintainability, and adherence to standards, and provide suggested improvements\n* Review new API documentation for one of our integration plugins and draft a story to upgrade to it\n\n**On the first day you will:**\n\n* Meet your team and get familiar with how we work\n* Setup your local environment and tooling\n* Commit a small tweak to a plugin and open a pull request for peer review\n\n**In the first week you will:**\n\n* Develop, QA, review, and ship a small feature improvement\n* Participate in code review for a teammate’s code\n* Help a team member with fixing a bug\n\n**In the first month you will:**\n\n* Work closely with the product team to ship a large feature\n* Participate in your first support rotation week and help our support team with escalated issues\n* Handle deploying a set of plugin releases using our internal tools\n* Publish a retrospective on your first large project to share successes & planned improvements for the next project\n \n\n# Requirements\nYou love solving engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible. You write code that's clear, readable, and standards-compliant. More importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nFinally, you can’t wait to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, affords the opportunity to work on challenging & interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and constantly ship your work. You’re an excellent writer and can communicate effectively whether drafting up a bug report, chatting in Slack, editing a wiki page, or drafting a retrospective. You know that code is about communication and explaining your thought process clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully-remote and we communicate primarily through Slack, Clubhouse, Google Docs, Basecamp, and weekly stand-ups via Zoom (a few short meetings) — we believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time that’s free of distractions.\n\nAs a remote team, we believe that regular meetups are invaluable for getting to know each other better, so you should be available for 1-2 company-paid team trips per year. Curious about what those are like? Check out our recap of our last team retreat ([SkyTrip](http://www.skyverge.com/blog/skytrip-2018-recap/)), which brought the entire team out to Lake Tahoe, California for a week. It’s a plus if you think (like we do) that bears are absolutely the coolest animals in the forest.\n\nThis is a full-time, salaried position, but hours are flexible. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits.\n

Hiya 👋We’re the folks at Jilt, an email marketing platform built for eCommerce. We help thousands of stores surprise and delight their customers with automated emails that drive sales. We’re looking for a smart, detail-oriented person to join our team as our first front-end engineer.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll work closely with your teammates on the engineering team (Justin, Lucas, Hannes, Dani, and Jonathan) to create intuitive & engaging interfaces based on direction from the product team (Beka). While Jilt is built as a traditional Ruby/Rails app, we use Angular (v1) to power our visual email editor and Vue.js for some areas with a lot of dynamic content. You’ll work on both areas and help engineer an incredible user experience.\n\nWhile the majority of your time will be spent focused on the app front-end, we have some features that are powered by JavaScript running on our customer’s stores. This means you’ll be able to flex your defensive programming skills and ensure our code works in harmony with a wide variety of browsers and other 3rd party scripts.\n\nAs our first dedicated front-end engineer, the team will often look to you for advice and direction. You’ll help shape our best practices, decide on frameworks and tooling, and refactor older or underperforming parts of the codebase. You’ll also be responsible for moving your projects forward, communicating your progress and milestones with others, and clearly documenting your work.\n\n**Here are some things you may do on a given day:**\n\n- Write some new JavaScript (with unit tests 😄) to improve part of the onboarding flow\n- Track down a tricky bug in the email editor and develop a hotfix\n- Research and write a pitch to migrate our CSS to a new framework\n- Transform the design for a new part of the UI into HTML / CSS\n\n**On the first day you will:**\n\n- Meet your team and get familiar with how we work\n- Setup your local environment and tooling\n- Commit a small tweak to the codebase and ship it to production\n\n**In the first week you will:**\n\n- Develop, QA, review, and ship a small feature improvement\n- Participate in code review for a teammate’s code\n- Help a team member with fixing a bug\n\n**In the first month you will:**\n\n- Work closely with the product team to ship a large feature\n- Participate in your first support rotation week and help our support team with escalated issues\n- Publish a retrospective on your first large project to share successes & planned improvements for the next project\n\n**You**\n\nYou love writing JavaScript that’s clear, self-documenting, and standards-compliant, whether by itself, alongside jQuery, or as part of a JS framework like Vue, Angular, or React. You believe in combining JS with beautiful & semantic HTML / CSS and are comfortable with supersets like CoffeeScript and templating languages like Slim. You’re also comfortable with Ruby / Rails and can move seamlessly between working on the back-end code that produces the data you need for front-end interactions.\n\nYou love beautiful design and working with others to transform concepts into real-world interfaces that are a joy to use. You love keeping up-to-date with the latest best practices and tools, and are constantly tweaking and improving the way you work.\n\nYou’re excited to solve engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible, and most importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nFinally, you can’t wait to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, affords the opportunity to work on challenging & interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and constantly ship your work. **Plug in Useful make some of the [most popular SaaS web apps for Shopify](http://https://www.pluginuseful.com/collections/apps). With over 100k users we've followed the rapid growth of Shopify and are looking to add a senior engineer to our 100% remote team of six.**\n\nAs a Senior Software Engineer you'll have worked with React and Rails before and ideally have used the Flux pattern on a decent-sized web app. You can both architect software, building it from the ground up, and maintain existing systems in a thoughtful way.\n\nJust as important is how you approach problems and work in the team. We don't want someone who puts their headphones on for three days and churns out code. Your instinct is to collaborate.\n\nYou'll work closely with our product manager to gather requirements, come up with technical solutions, present these in a clear non-technical way and agree on what to do.\n\nYou'll both mentor and learn from our software engineer through code reviews and working on problems together. And you'll help our QA tester to understand changes, how best to test them and be responsive in fixing bugs.\n\nWe're 100% remote across different timezones so clear, regular communication is key. Your location isn't important as long as there's a roughly 4 hour overlap with Eastern Time and European Time.\n\nYou're experienced in working remotely and have found a schedule and setup that works best for you. If that's a coworking space we can pay for that, but that's optional since you decide where you're at your most productive.\n\n### Skills & Experience\n* 1+ years React or similar frontend frameworks\n* 3+ years Rails\n* 5+ years software engineering\n* Have worked on web apps, ideally B2B SaaS\n* Software architecture\n* Have used a few different software patterns\n* Very collaborative\n* Clear non-technical communicator\n* Have worked remotely\n* Curious about new technologies\n* Ideally have worked with Kanban \n\nFull time, 100% remote from any location with a 4 hour overlap with Eastern Time and European Time. We believe strongly in work/life balance with reasonable hours (usually 37.5 hours or occasionally more when required) and paid time off. \n\n# Requirements\nApply by sending your CV and a brief email intro to [email protected] We love it when you mention something from the job description.

SkyVerge is looking for a talented full-stack PHP engineer to join our team and help build our portfolio of WordPress plugins for WooCommerce. You'll write code that helps power mission-critical tools for millions of online stores.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll focus on building new features and maintaining existing code, while also helping with code reviews and customer support. With over 60 different plugins, there’s a wide variety of work. You might spend time on some complicated frontend interactions using JS, then switch focus to working with a tricky external REST API for a while, and later work on adding unit/acceptance tests to our framework code.\nYou’ll have the opportunity to really dive into a problem and understand it before crafting a well-engineered, high quality solution. We believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time to think and code.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress and designed to work with WooCommerce, so we use PHP 5.3+ (moving soon to PHP 5.6 minimum) and we write all new JS in CoffeeScript. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and actively invest in tooling & testing to improve both the quality of our products and the happiness of our team building them.\n\nWe work primarily through GitHub and Slack, so you should be able clearly express your ideas via comments and messages. All new code is tested and peer-reviewed, so you’ll be able to both learn from the rest of the team and share your knowledge.\n\n**You**\n\nYou love solving engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible. You write code that's clear, readable, and standards-compliant. More importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nYou're excited to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, and affords the opportunity to work on interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and constantly ship cool projects. You're an excellent communicator, whether written, in person, or via video chat (native-level English fluency is required). You know that code is about communication and that explaining yourself clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully remote and stays in touch primarily via Slack and weekly check-ins over Zoom. That said, we believe spending time together is important — availability for 1-2 company-paid team trips ([SkyTrip!](https://www.skyverge.com/blog/skytrip-2018-recap/)) per year is necessary.\n\nThis is a full-time, salaried position, but hours are flexible. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits.\n\n**Process**\n\nAfter an initial screening, you’ll get an email with a few questions to answer. Following that, you’ll have a few 30 minute phone chats with different people on our team to learn more about you and answer any questions you have about the position and company.\n\nIf this goes well, we’ll invite you to join our team and start your 4-week trial. During this period you’ll work full-time as a contractor, or part-time on nights/weekends if you already have a full-time position. This gives you an opportunity to make sure you enjoy the work and the team, and it gives us an opportunity to evaluate your work. We’ll have regular chats each week to share feedback and make sure we’re on the same page. At the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll be offered a permanent position 🙂\n\n**Benefits**\n\nHere are some benefits we're happy to offer to our team members:\n\n- Competitive salary\n- Annual incentive for meeting team and company goals\n- 27 days of paid time-off, in addition to 2 company holidays (SkyVerge Day in March, Founders Day in June 😀)\n- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for US and Canadian residents and their families (reimbursements for comparable care for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- 401k/RRSP Retirement plan with 4% company match for US/Canadian residents (contributions to comparable plans for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- Work flexible hours from anywhere that has a reliable internet connection\n- Tools (hardware/software) to help you be productive\n- Allowance for professional growth (books, courses, conferences)\n- Home office or co-working allowance\n- A Kindle to help you keep learning\n\n*We support workplace diversity and do not discriminate on any protected class. We believe when we work together as a team of different views, experiences, and ideas, we can build amazing things.*

A key role will be building the data models and ETL processes to provide various data for business use.  You will be partnering with our technology teams, analytical teams, and data scientists across various initiative.\n\nThis is not a traditional IT BI/Integration role as our eCommerce team is structured like a startup within a larger enterprise. As a result, we're a new team with a lot of ambiguity in where we're headed, the data and data sources are constantly changing, you will not be provided clear 'requirements,' and there is no blueprint you're walking into for this role. For the right candidate, this will be the perfect environment to build from the ground up.

\nKeen IO is seeking engineers to join our Platform team. We build and nurture an Analytics API that processes user data and queries around the clock, across diverse industries. Whether it’s gaming, e-commerce, advertising, publishing, or IoT, our platform aims to make Analytics so easy for developers that they can focus entirely on their product. Every day, every week, every month our challenge is to scale with a constantly growing data deluge and evolve along with our user’s needs.\n\nAbout the Platform Team\n\nWe work together in a pretty novel fashion - servant leaders are elected from the team, by the team. Responsibilities normally held by a single manager are separated across multiple roles. We have very open discussions about our shared priorities.\n\nWe’re always iterating on how we work and what we build. We’re growing fast and we know that what worked a year ago won’t necessarily work a year from now. This applies both to the technology and the organizations of our teams. We want to provide the best analytics experience for developers and co-create the best work environment for each other - willingness to evolve is essential.\n\nAbout the Job\n\nBy centralizing a data pipeline for hundreds of companies, we operate at a scale that none of them have to worry about. Looking to the horizon, we need to look at every piece of our infrastructure with a critical eye. We need to stay ahead of the curve. You will help us be thoughtful and deliberate about tackling the right bottlenecks at the right time. You’ll help make working on the platform easier and easier. You’ll have the opportunity to gain deep understanding of distributed systems and teach others! Most importantly, you’ll collaborate with some pretty amazing humans.

You won't be a second class citizen here, guaranteed. \n* We don't have time for assholes or politics. \n* Competitive compensation package including equity in a high growth VC backed start-up (Crosslink, Maveron, Quest, Polaris). Salary/equity is determined based on a sliding scale: if you would like a higher salary, we can issue you less equity, and vice versa. \n* Small (12 person), growing, and agile team. \n* $1k gift card to dog food our own marketplace sellers! \n\n\nWhat we'd like to see:\n* True, full-stack engineers with extensive experience in Python/Django or Java. Related experience is a plus.\n* MS or PhD\n* if you have an awesome Github repo, open source contributions, or a cool project you can demo, please cut to the front of the line...\n\n\nResponsibilities:\nAs a member of our small but seriously talented engineering team, you will play a key role in both shaping and building our technologies. Your scope will be broad, ranging from user-facing features to server-side components and libraries. We are looking for a generalist who enjoys learning and working with different technologies. \nFarApp is looking for a full-time Junior Software Developer in the Los Angeles area to join our team. All work will be done remotely except for the occasional team meeting. We're located in Torrance, CA.\n\nFarApp is a service owned by The SGC Group, Inc. We're a small company that's growing quickly. We offer a cloud-based service that automates our customers' business processes. We automate their connections between their business systems and popular marketplaces and carts such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, Buy.com, Sears, Yahoo, Magento, Shopify, Shipwire, and more.\n\nThere is a lot of active development at FarApp. Every new customer requires us to setup and configure everything so it's working exactly like they want. It's very common that what they want isn't available and we need to quickly develop features to support them. This could mean connecting to a new marketplace or third party logistics company, or it could mean importing new data from an existing connector. We're also trying to expand our feature-set and are actively developing software for our future growth.\n\nWe're looking for somebody who is passionate about software and is interested to start at the ground-level with a company so that they can help it grow and share in its success. We hope that you're excited to make a big impact because you'll have plenty of opportunity to do that. If you're ambitious and smart, we're definitely interested. But if on top of that you're the type of person who gets things done, then we're looking for you. We work with a lot of different technologies with languages such as Python, PHP, JavaScript, C++, etc. and frameworks such as Flask, AngularJS, TurboGears, etc. So we don't need somebody with a lot of experience but just need somebody who can learn new technologies quickly and is excited to make learning part of their regular routine. We try to never say no at FarApp because we believe we can develop anything (though some things are harder than others). We're looking for people that have the same mindset.\n\nWe're offering a competitive salary with great benefits and a flexible work schedule.\n\nBenefits\n\n\n* Work remotely\n\n* Competitive salary\n\n* Flexible work schedule\n\n\n
