๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.

\nAbout Status\n\nStatus is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3. \n\nWith the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.\n\nAs an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community. \n\nAs a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of DApps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol (a continuation of Whisper).\n\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception. Our team is currently 100+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe. \n\nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\nThe Role\n\nWe aim to create one of the first production-ready implementations of an Ethereum portal client - an important goal in the Ethereum stateless clients roadmap that will make it possible for the Ethereum state to be distributed in a network of ultra-lightweight nodes that will retain full compatibility with existing JSON-RPC applications. This mode of operation of Nimbus will exist side-by-side with the ordinary Eth1 client.\n\nNimbus is a research team that focuses on developing an Ethereum client and library targeting both Ethereum and the upcoming, proof-of-stake-based ETH2. We believe that the largest deployment of Ethereum will potentially be on embedded systems, Nimbus will be designed to perform well on embedded, mobile and generally resource-restricted devices. The extensible, configurable, and modular design of Nimbus will make it production ready for Web 3.0 and will ensure that it can be supported and maintained across all goals of Ethereum 2.0.\n\nBuilding the stack from ground up, weโre translating the latest Ethereum 2.0 research into practical, performant and reusable libraries to provide fertile exploration ground for further R&D. Check our latest update!\nWhat you will be doing\n\n\n Implement peer-to-peer network protocols according to specifications.\n\n Design and implement optimal storage solutions for the distributed Ethereum state. \n\n Create a robust headless node suitable for resource-restricted devices.\n\n Implement JSON-RPC APIs for interacting with the portal client network.\n\n Participate in weekly meetings with the EF research teams and report progress.\n\n\n\nYou ideally will have\n\n\nExperience with p2p networks and distributed systems\n\nStrong Knowledge of Ethereum ecosystem \n\nExperience in, and passion for, blockchain technology.\n\n\nA strong alignment to our principles: https://status.im/about/#our-principles\n\n\n\n\nBonus points if\n\n\n Experience working remotely. \n\n Experience working for an open source organization. \n\n\n\n\n[Donโt worry if you donโt meet all of these criteria, weโd still love to hear from you anyway if you think youโd be a great fit for this role!]\nCompensation\n\nWe pay a competitive salary based on experience, plus a grant of Status Network Tokens vesting over a three-year period. More info on SNT here here: https://status.im/snt-utility/\nHiring process\n\nInterview with our People Ops team\n\nInterview with Kim from (Nimbus team)\n\nInterview with Zahary (Nimbus Team Lead)\n\nInterview with Jacek (Program Lead)\n\n\n\nThe steps may change along the way if we see it makes sense to adapt the interview stages, so please consider the above as a guideline. Weโre looking for you to join our team as soon as possible. \n\nCompensation:\n\nWe are happy to pay salaries in either 100% fiat or any mix of fiat and/or crypto.
