Status SNT is hiring a
Remote Senior Frontend Developer

\nAbout Status\nStatus is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3. \nWith the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.\nAs an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community. \nAs a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of DApps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol; the p2p communication layer for Web3.\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception. Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe. \nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\n\nThe role:\n\nWe are looking for an experienced React developer to join a small, fully asynchronous team, who will take ownership of certain web-related areas at Status. Your role will not only involve translating high-level designs into production-ready UI, but also collaborating with colleagues across the stack to deliver new features. \n\nOur stack is built on modern foundations โ€“ a monorepo powered by TypeScript, React, Storybook, Vite, Vitest, Playwright, ESLint, Prettier, Yarn Workspaces, and Turborepo. As we work in the open and are fully open-source, you can get a better idea of who we are and the work we are doing by browsing our Status Web repository. We strive to build solid foundations that will enable us to continuously make progress. We don't expect you to have a background in everything we use, but we do expect strong JavaScript fundamentals and experience working with React and TypeScript.\n\nWe function as generalists, often undertaking a variety of challenges, and deeply care about the quality of our work. We look forward to collaborating with experienced individuals who can operate independently, make important decisions, and take ownership.\n\nKey responsibilities: \n\n\n* Building new features with beautiful and scalable UI components from start to finish\n\n* Building and maintaining the new React implementation of Statusโ€™ design system\n\n* Collaborating with other people across the teams\n\n* Gathering feedback from users and developers to better understand their needs\n\n\n\n\nYou ideally will have:\n\n\n* Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and written\n\n* Thoughtful and pragmatic problem-solving\n\n* 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years of experience with React\n\n* Experience writing modern, performant, and accessible React code \n\n* Strong knowledge of JavaScript, and ideally TypeScript\n\n* Prior experience creating a component library\n\n\n\n\nHiring process:\n\nThe steps may change along the way if we see it makes sense to adapt the interview stages, so please consider the above as a guideline. \n\n\n* Call with Talent\n\n* Technical interview \n\n* Paid task\n\n* Technical interview\n\n* Final interview\n\n\n\n\nCompensation:\n\nThe expected compensation range for this role is negotiable, dependent on how we assess your skills and experience throughout our interview process. We are happy to pay in any mix of fiat/crypto.\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, Web3, Ethereum, React, JavaScript and Senior jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n

Other duties may be assigned, and this job description can be modified at any time.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n\nThree or more years of experience developing for the web in a news, civic or data-related context\n\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENT\n\nBachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent work experience.\n\nWORK LOCATION\n\nRemote Permitted: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS\n\n\n* Experience designing interactive or data-heavy projects with a static architecture\n\n* Experience with setting up servers, crons and server-side data processing workflows\n\n* Solid news judgment. Octopus Energy is hiring a
Remote Senior Backend Developer Supportsite Team

\nKraken is the technology tentacle of the Octopus Energy Group. \n\n\nAll technology is written and maintained by a multi-discipline engineering team of around 300 people globally. Our engineers work in โ€˜super teamsโ€™ which are focused on key areas of our platform as well as other innovative products. This also includes server-side, client-side and mobile engineers working closely with UX experts, copywriters and designers. \n \nTeams are empowered to choose a way of working that works for them, often opting for a Kanban-like approach. Notion and Asana are then used to specify and manage work; Github, CircleCI and Terraform Enterprise as part of an immutable-infrastructure, continuous delivery pipeline; and Datadog, Sentry and Cloudwatch to measure performance and monitor production. \n \nSome of our coding conventions are open-source . \n \nKraken is a great place to learn, work with some talented engineers and level-up your skills.  \n \nOur technology\nOn the server-side, we mainly use Python. Most of our websites are powered by Django, Django-REST-framework and GraphQL (Graphene).  \n \nWe use AWS heavily  as part of a continuous deployment pipeline. See, for example, Django, ELB health checks and continuous delivery. \n \nClient-side, we use React, htmx and SASS; our mobile apps are built using native code or React Native.\n\n\nOur team\nOur teamโ€™s goal is to make Kraken as awesome as the Energy Specialists who use it every day. We work closely with them and our in-house designers to keep making it better and better. Beyond that, our work empowers Krakenโ€™s many backend teams to build amazing features without having to worry about CSS and JavaScript getting in their way. We do this by building our own design system, working with other teams on building new features, and ensuring Kraken is a joy to work on. All while adding new features and maintaining existing functionality.\n\n\nWeโ€™re looking for a strong backend developer with a solid understanding of Django, to help us become even more of a full-stack powerhouse.\n\n\nSo, would you like to work in a team that gets the opportunity to collaborate with others, and dip into many domains? Would you like to help shape the experience of Energy Specialists using Kraken? Would you like to help come up with the best patterns to build an awesome website, from Django templates, to React, to HTMX? Would you like to mentor Frontend devs who want to build out their skills and go full-stack, while learning a few Frontend tricks from them? Give us a shout.\n\n\n\nWhat you'll do\n* We have lots of difficult design challenges to solve. The UK utilities market is complicated, outdated and process-heavy - there's an awful lot of domain modelling that we need to get right. Strong attention to detail is essential.\n* We have challenging technical problems to solve; like processing tens of millions of meter readings a day. We need the right technology in place to handle this smoothly as well as feeding data into a machine learning pipeline that models and predicts consumption. Or thinking about how we adapt Kraken to improve other utilities like water and broadband.\n* There's a great opportunity for disruption in the UK energy market. The big suppliers still dominate, but are not exactly popular. The energy landscape is changing as we move to more dis-aggregated forms of generation, with less predictability, more dynamism and smarter technology.\n* You'll be working for a company thatโ€™s fighting climate change. Our generation arm is the largest investor in solar generation in the UK, and is funding wind and anaerobic digestion. As a supplier, we're helping people to use greener technology and renewable energy, all helping move the UK towards a lower carbon future.\n\n\n\nWhat you'll need\n* We're looking for someone with a general interest in technology and problem-solving; someone diligent and thoughtful. It would be helpful to have experience/expertise in the following (in rough priority order):\n* Python\n* Django (or equiv. web framework)\n* Domain modelling\n* HTTP and REST APIs\n* Writing robust and fault-tolerant software\n* Celery and async processing\n* Postgres\n\nPlus experience in the following would be a bonus:\n* AWS\n* Terraform, Packer, Consul\n* React and Redux\n\n\n\nWhy else you'll love about us\n* Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Octopus - what's more important to us is finding the right octofit!\n* Octopus Energy is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground. We want your hard work to be rewarded with perks you actually care about! We won best company to work for in 2022, on Glassdoor we we're voted 50 best places to work in 2022 and our Group CEO, Greg has recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people \n* Visit our perks hub - Octopus Employee Benefits\n\n\n\n\n\nWe would prefer someone who can work in our London office but will consider remote candidates. However, you do need to be able to work in the UK. \n\n\nWe're very excited to be growing our team. We're looking for skills and experience to help shape and define the future of not only our team, but the wider business at a global scale. If you're reading this and grinning, please apply! There are huge challenges to tackle, and we need amazing people who are keen to get stuck in.\n\n\nIf this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you. \n\n\nStudies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, React, GraphQL, Django, JavaScript, CSS, Mobile, Senior and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $50,000 — $100,000/year\n

Knowde is hiring a
Remote Senior Front End Software Engineer

\nAbout Knowde\n\nThe ingredient, polymer and chemical industries are going through a digital transformation. Suppliers and distributors that adopt modern, digital strategies will succeed. More than 8,000 of the world's largest suppliers and distributors use Knowde to accelerate their digital transformation and drive business growth.\n\nKnowde solves the root of the problem holding the industry back from successful digital transformation: organizing and digitizing product data. Knowdeโ€™s Proprietary Knowledge Engine extracts, cleanses and organizes unstructured product data in a matter of weeks, creating product master data in a PIM system that powers business tools, internal teams, and amazing online customer experiences.\n\nKnowde instantly transforms how customers discover, engage and transact with suppliers and distributors online โ€” on your existing website, Knowdeโ€™s marketplace or both.\n\nTo realize our vision, we've raised over $110M from the world's leading investors, including Sequoia Capital and Coatue. They recognize that digitally transforming the chemical industry will increase the pace of innovation globally.\n\nCome Join Us!\n\nKnowde is looking to add an immensely talented Senior Front End Developer to join our Engineering team. As one of our engineers, you will help us invent, design, refine, and deliver the products that will enable this digital transformation. The products we will create together simply do not exist today. This is your chance to fundamentally affect how product innovation occurs globally across industries.\n\nWhat Youโ€™ll Be Doing\n\n\n* As a small, remote team youโ€™ll be empowered to work directly with leadership and the product team to make decisions about your code and the future of the product.\n\n* Be a trailblazer by contributing to the build of a complex ecommerce marketplace, the first of its kind in the Chemicals space.\n\n* Have a strong emphasis on shipping features quickly without sacrificing code quality.\n\n* Own your projects from software design to implementation and deployment.\n\n* Take pride in your work by implementing cutting-edge technologies and writing state-of-the-art code.\n\n* Transform UI designs and mockups into pages and flows using CSS3 and JavaScript frameworks.\n\n* Build modular front-end code leveraging GraphQL and REST-based services.\n\n* Emphasize simplicity and pragmatism, which is reflected in your elegant code that other developers emulate.\n\n* Have an exceptional understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and service workers\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Should Have\n\n\n* 5+ yearsโ€™ experience developing rich UI/Front-end for user-facing web applications.\n\n* Strong experience with React or Angular, TypeScript, SSR, SPA, PWA, OOP, Reactive programming, Flexbox, and Unit tests\n\n* Ability to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor.\n\n* Ability to work and collaborate within distributed, multidisciplinary teams.\n\n* Excellent communication and facilitation skills.\n\n* Experience in developing secure web applications and knowledge of application vulnerabilities such as Cross Site Scripting (XSS), Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) etc.\n\n* High bar for quality and phenomenal attention to detail.\n\n* Experience writing clean, unobtrusive JavaScript and debugging tools.\n\n* Knowledge of browser quirks and their remedies. By the way, we do not support Internet Explorer (any version).\n\n* Knowledge of browser internals like JavaScript engines and ways to tune code for best performance.\n\n\n\n\nOur Stack\n\n\n* React 17 / Angular 13 / TypeScript\n\n* Jest / testing-library / Karma / Cypress\n\n* Nx.dev for monorepo tooling\n\n* Ruby on Rails on the backend\n\n* GraphQL / REST APIs\n\n* PostgreSQL / Elasticsearch / Redis / S3\n\n* Kubernete\n\n\n\n\nOur Perks & Benefits\n\n\n* We offer โ€œKnerdsโ€ a variety of medical, dental, and vision plans, designed to fit you and your familyโ€™s needs\n\n* 401K program to help you invest in your future\n\n* Education & learning stipend for personal growth and development\n\n* Fully remote position\n\n* Flexible vacation time to promote a healthy work-life blend\n\n* Paid parental leave to support you and your family\n\n\n\n\nWe believe in supporting people to do their best work and thrive, and building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive company is core to our mission.
