Remote Staff Product Designer

\nAbout this role\n\nFaire is a company invested in good designโ€”as a Staff Product Designer, youโ€™ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team of designers who care deeply about creating beautiful and intuitive experiences. Our team is at the center of product work at Faire, designing experiences for the thousands of independent retailers and maker brands growing their businesses in our marketplace.\n\nIn this role, youโ€™ll help shape Faireโ€™s product, working with team members across research, engineering, product, and data. You'll embed in the Recommendations Pod within the Discovery Pillar. Youโ€™ll focus on designing intuitive experiences that deliver personalized product and brand recommendations to Faire retailers. Youโ€™ll execute across existing Discovery surfaces and help lead the effort to explore new recommendations opportunities. As a design lead, you'll strive to understand our customersโ€™ challenges and craft experiences that help people discover products and brands theyโ€™ll love.\n\nWeโ€™re looking for team members that excel across the entire product development lifecycle, care deeply about the details, have a strong track-record of shipping high-quality experiences, come with a growth mindset, and bring a genuine desire to learn about our customers.\n\nWe're looking for candidates open to working in San Francisco, CA or New York City.\n\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\n\n* Collaborate with partners across product and engineering to define, build, and release new products and features. \n\n* Construct user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts for validation.\n\n* Develop and deliver well-documented, high-fidelity visuals that accurately represent Faireโ€™s brand and design system standards.\n\n* Write UX content that helps customers accomplish their goals on Faire\n\n* Design user-centric, engaging content to increase usability, inform, and help customerโ€™s accomplish their goals on Faire\n\n* Participate in and/or lead user interviews and research to better understand customer needs.\n\n* Contribute strategic thinking to product features and roadmap.\n\n* Mentor and guide team members, helping them develop and grow.\n\n* Contribute to and positively shape the design teamโ€™s culture through collaboration, feedback, and process iteration.\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\n* 8+ years of experience designing digital products and systems. You have a breadth of knowledge of what goes into product design, from systems to visuals.\n\n* Passion for the details. You have experience delivering high quality experiences, and doing what it takes to get the details right.\n\n* Great communication skills. You present design decisions and processes clearly and confidently, regardless of audience.\n\n* A collaborative approach. Youโ€™re a great partner to other designers and your cross-functional teammates.\n\n* A growth-mindset. Youโ€™re open and receptive to feedback, and can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.\n\n* A sense of humor. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location.
