**About Us**\nRoger was founded to make day-to-day financial operations like bill pay, expense management, compliance and bookkeeping as worry-free as possible for business owners, finance teams, accountants and bookkeepers. Roger works as an automated layer on top of a company's accounting software, saving businesses and accountants hours of work every day. We're proud of the product that we've built so far, and our global customer base agree that we're making something complex and tedious simple and maybe even fun. \nWe are backed by some of the best investors in the financial technology space and have huge ambitions for our growth in 2019. But we are still a small team (20 people) and therefore we want you to be part of the journey.\nJoining Roger will be a chance to join a fast-paced company, with a global product. We hire for attitude and not credentials. Please apply regardless of your current position background, or experience.\n \n**The Team**\nThe engineering team is characterized by a high degree of support internally. We help each other out and pitch in when problems arise as well as give each other feedback to grow. Our top priority is to build the world's best financial automation platforms while keeping our users safe and compliant. Scalability, reliability, and robustness are keywords we live by but we also get excited about building out feature MVPs quickly to keep our innovative reputation with customers and partners alive and well at all times. \n\n**The Stack**\nRoger's backend is built on .NET with C#. We love the simplicity, speed, and structure of C#, combined with the built-in security and robustness it offers developers. On the front-end we work in React and React Native, enabling us to build reliable web experiences that can handle high usage volumes. \nAdditionally, we make extensive use of Lamda (integrations only), AWS, Git, Bugsnag, Heroku and other great tools to keep our development processes running smoothly. \n\n**Our Values**\nWe're a global company with offices in Copenhagen and San Francisco. Our values are heavily influenced by our Scandinavian roots (both founders are from Denmark) and count humility, humor, and inclusiveness. We strive to create a culture where anyone feels part of the family, and we place a great amount of value in hiring for attitude rather than resumes. We support flexibility in everyone's lives, and working at Roger can be easily combined with babies, toddlers, and teenagers. We have two primary office locations but have a remote culture that we put a lot of effort into as we believe great talent can be found anywhere. As a remote worker, you can be sure to feel like you are as much part of the team as those who come to an office every day. About every 6 months, we all get together in person. Our last trips took us to Greece and Spain. Everyone on the team shares a passion for creating the best possible product and user experience, and that is something we value in future team members as well. \n\n**The Roger Story**\nRoger's founders started the company after exiting their first startup to Cisco Systems. Having experienced all the frustrations with daily financial operations when starting previous ventures, the first gist of an idea for Roger was born in 2016. Since then, international investors from both Europe and the US have supported the growth of the team and the customer base, and the product is now used and loved by thousands of customers worldwide. \n\nRoger is an equal opportunity employer. We strive to maintain and develop our inclusive work environment and welcome members of all backgrounds and perspectives.\n\n# Responsibilities\n We are looking for a Software Developer to be a part of our engineering team at Roger. You'll work closely with our CTO in San Francisco, as well as the other 9 engineers based in SF, Copenhagen, Lithuania, Portugal and Moldova to develop new features, build new integrations, improve our external API, and set the pace and direction for planning sprints according to the product roadmap. Roger is an exciting platform to innovate for and optimize on the backend. With thousands of customers around the world you'll be able to see the immediate effect of the code you write. The team is still small enough where things move quickly, but the customer base is large enough for you to have a big impact on revenue and business goals.\n\nWe're looking for an experienced developer who likes to lead and take responsibility and motivate fellow team members to keep a high bar for quality, speed and security. You should be comfortable making decisions on the fly, as well as take the leading role in making sure the dev team is meeting deadlines and commitments. \nYou'll play a large role in developing new features and leading by example. Your educational background is less important as your previous professional experience, your drive, and your personality. \n\n# Requirements\n* *Excited about the product and the space in general \n* Comfortable taking a leading role in the day-to-day development \n* Experience in working with object-oriented programming\n* Comfortable working with .NET and C#\n* Experience working with relational\non-relational, Aurora\MySql and Dynamodb\n* Experience with REST APIs\n* Ability to make ad-hoc technical decisions autonomously \n* Experience from an entrepreneurial setting is a plus \n\n#Salary\n90000-120000\n \n\n#Location\n- ๐ŸŒWorldwide

\nCore Data has an opening for three (3) experienced senior-level C++ programmers to add to our existing team.  This work-from-home contract style position offers a full time opportunity to each developer selected for the position.\n\nThis advertisement is intended for senior-level applicants with demonstrable experience in a professional work environment.  While experience with systems integration and complex APIs will receive priority over developers that do not have this type of previous experience.  Applicants will be expected to have the requisite knowledge and experience needed to create professional-quality, bug-free production quality applications.  The range of projects is split between two separate product lines currently maintained by the company.  The first collection of projects relates to a sports wagering software that produces statistics, betting odds, and supporting structures.  The second and newest collection of projects relates to the banking and finance realms.  Examples include integration with exchanges,  integration with cryptocurrency wallets and APIs, development of buy/sell algorithms, and creation of various web services to facilitate online banking.  Many of the projects we take on are of advanced level and require analysis and planning on an individual basis in addition to code writing.\n\nFor this position, emphasis is placed on the applicant's ability to produce solutions with minimal outside help.  As this is a senior-level position, all applicants are expected to be able to write the required applications from start to finish, including design of any database queries or tables.  Design specifications will be provided for each project prior to commencement.  While actual programming ability is one of the key requirements of this position, applicants for this senior-level posting are expected to show initiative and take a practical approach towards solving real-world problems.\n\nThe projects are challenging and quite exciting, and even the most experienced of candidates are certain to learn new skills and techniques while working with our company.\n\nSkills & requirements\n\n\n* Advanced C++ background\n\n* Past experience working in a senior-level posting\n\n* Ability to write fully-debugged, real-world applications from start to finish with minimal supervisory intervention\n\n* Knowledge of web services, such as REST, JSON APIs\n\n* Working knowledge of how web documents are structured (HTML and XML)\n\n* Strong investigative skills, such as ability to "figure out" an acceptable algorithm to buy/sell commodities;\n\n* Diverse background in customer-facing as well as B2B software;\n\n* Ability to design tables, indexes, and SQL queries to support the data layer of applications.  Specific experience with MySQL preferred.\n\n* Optional:  Working knowledge of the Qt5 C++ framework\n\n\n

Instead we work directly with designers and manufacturers so we can offer high-end furniture at attractive prices.\n\n\nItโ€™s not an easy task โ€“ it takes a creative and dedicated team to make it happen where everyone has an important part to play. We combine our individual passions and skills to create innovative work thatโ€™s as exciting and unconventional as the business itself. Itโ€™s a place where all ideas are listened to, where brainstorming means job titles get left at the door and where a self-starter can really make their mark.\n\n\n# Responsibilities\n What youโ€™ll be doing\n\n\nWe are an Agile development team, working collaboratively with our software architects and infrastructure engineers, to deliver a best in class back office software suite โ€“ covering supply chain management, logistics, order fulfilment and customer communications. We make sure our remote developers are as central to the process as our office based developers, included, by video, in all meetings and decisions and collaborating with the rest of the squad on a daily basis.\n\n \n\nWe are constantly looking to improve and progress and thanks to some brilliantly innovative software development; weโ€™ve come a long way in the last 8 years and are really excited about what we can do in the future, with a bigger and brighter tech team!\n\n \n\nWe know our success lies in the hands, heads and hearts of a vibrant and dynamic development team; thatโ€™s why youโ€™ll find us at so many conferences and meetups and why we value our Friday Time R&D projects. Itโ€™s also why we make time for so many social events!\n\n \n\nThey say Python is the second best language for everything and it is our language of choiceโ€ฆ From web apps to event driven APIโ€™s; high traffic, low latency, real time software is vital to our ability to deliver an industry leading e-commerce back office solution.\n \n\n# Requirements\nWhat youโ€™ll need:\n\n \n\n A positive attitude\n\nCollaborative\nEnthusiastic\nCurious\n\nOutstanding communication\n\nAbility to convey technical ideas\nCapable of grasping new technical concepts\nAbility to abstract technical ideas\n\nExcellent coding skills\n\nOOP\nInterpreted languages (ideally Python 3+)\nTDD\nAPIs (building and consuming / integrating)\nSource Control (pull requests, branching)\nSQL / NoSQL\n\nIn depth knowledge of web technology\n\nHTTP(S)\nDNS\nCookies & Sessions\n \n\n \n\nIf this sounds appealing to you and you would like to get exposure to some of the hottest current tech (Docker, Nomad, Ansible, Python, React to name but a few!) and work with some great people, as part of a passionate, cross functional back office engineering squad, weโ€™d like to hear from you!\n

\nCompany Overview\n\nDealer Inspire is an automotive website platform provider located in Naperville, Illinois. We pride ourselves in having a fun, unconventional working environment and a great culture. While our team works extremely hard, we try to keep it a fun and creative work environment. At Dealer Inspire, we like to look at current problems and 'rethink' about solutions. We're flexible - we don't write requirements in stone, and things can change regularly. This means rethinking how the solutions work best. \n\nWant to learn more about who we are? Check us out here!\n\nJob Summary\n\nWe are looking for developers to join our FUEL team. FUEL is an application that creates engaging dynamic text ads for every vehicle in our customer’s inventory.  By using unique vehicle attributes from inventory feeds, ads are automatically generated with specific vehicle data and pushed out to various advertising platforms. FUEL is migrating away from a MVC Kohana app to a Laravel API and React front-end; from legacy to brand-new code, this project has it all.\n\nAbout You\n\nYou should be able to implement bigger features end-to-end, without much guidance. You should be able to contribute to the design of features (both architecturally and from a user-experience/functionality point of view). For a given problem, you should be able to think of a few different approaches, and have a good understanding of the tradeoffs. Writing tests, refactoring, and using patterns and good engineering principles should be second nature. Knowledge of advanced topics are not expected to be incredibly deep but you should understand ********************. You should understand topics slightly outside of development, like basic networking. The attributes we're looking for here are a passion for continuous learning, and a focus on delivering high-quality, working software.\n\nQualifications and Skills\n\nRequired\n\n\n* Previous work experience using Laravel and PHP\n\n* Experience with writing complicated MySQL queries. \n\n* Experience with performance debugging and benchmarking\n\n* Strong written and verbal communication skills\n\n* Basic Linux admin (ability to SSH, view logs, etc)\n\n* Experience with Git version control\n\n* Experience with job queues and background PHP processes\n\n\n\n\nNice to Have\n\n\n* Previous work experience with GraphQL\n\n* Experience working with Google Adwords APIs and/or Facebook Marketing/Messenger APIs\n\n* Experience designing application architecture\n\n\n\n\nCompensation\n\n$90,000+ per year based upon skill and previous experience. Motivated and talented individuals may advance quickly in our fast growing company.

Estately makes it easier to find and buy a home online and we need your help.\n\nWhat you'll do:\n\nYou'll collaborate to build, maintain, and streamline our large application, working with Ruby, Rails, Postgres, and more. Some examples of the work you'll be doing include the following:\n\n* Working closely with product and design to define and implement new features\n* Continually improving our fetching code, which grabs data on millions of properties throughout each day\n* Integrating various APIs to give our customers even more info about homes\n* Making our website a more delightful experience\n\nYou'll have both the opportunity and the independence to tackle all kinds of challenges: some days you'll work on refactoring a legacy part of the app to make it do something new, and on others, you'll build a brand new, greenfield feature.\n\nYou\n\n* You have experience architecting, building, and maintaining reliable web applications that serve hundreds of requests per second.\n* You care about maintaining a clean, readable, well tested codebase.\n* We work extensively with Ruby, Rails, Postgres, React, and Sass. You have experience with most of these technologies, and are eager to learn new ones.\n* You communicate well and collaborate with the whole team, be it to clarify product specifications or work through tough code problems.\n* You enjoy mentoring fellow team members in areas where you have expertise โ€“ and graciously accept mentorship in areas where you have an opportunity to grow.\n\nAbout Us:\n\n* We're a small team focused on opening up the old school real estate world.\n* Our goal is to build the best place for people to browse, shop for, and buy homes.\n* We employ an iterative approach to building products and deploy multiple times a day.\n* We have a big vision.\n* We believe in hiring smart people and giving them the support and flexibility to succeed.\n\nIf you work locally, you'll be in a relaxed and fun office in the Belltown neighborhood.\nWe're looking to hire the best people wherever they are in the world. If you don't want to relocate to beautiful Seattle, you should be awesome at working from home and available to join our daily standup at 9:30am Pacific Time. Some developers live in Seattle and come into the Estately office, while others live and work remotely, including from outside of the United States.ย We've had remote developers since 2011, and are seasoned veterans of working with a distributed team, across multiple time zones.\n\nOur Hiring Process\n\nWe believe in collaborative interviews where we work with you to solve realistic problems. We interview for practical skills in a one-on-one setting, and strive to use your preferred editor and tools whenever possible. Great candidates donโ€™t usually write code on white boards, or implement basic data structures from scratch, so we wonโ€™t ask you to do that. We want our recruiting process to be transparent to you. It roughly consists of the following steps:\n\nย  ย  ย An initial call between you and a member of our team\n\nWe'll tell you more about the work that you'd be doing, and why we think Estately is a great place to work. You'll have the opportunity to ask us lots of questions, too. We'll ask you about your experience and some technical questions, mostly to get a feel for where you're at as we move forward with the process.\n\nย  ย  ย Individual Exercise\n\nWe have a few practical challenges to assess technical knowledge. Over the course of a few hours, you'll be fixing a bug in our app (that we've previously fixed), so we can see how you approach solving a realistic problem.\n\nย  ย  ย Pairing on a Few Potential Features\n\nDuring the pairing exercises you'll pair with one of our developers to implement an (existing) feature in the app. This will take a couple hours or so, and will mostly consist of discussion about approach, with some coding in the midst of it.\n\nย  ย  ย Discussion with representatives from our Product and Design teams\n\nAs a small team, all of our developers work very closely with product and design. These short sessions will give you a chance to meet and speak with the product and design folks that you would be working with on a regular basis.\n\nDiversity\n\nEstately seeks to increase the ratio of women and underrepresented minorities in software engineering and development, we encourage women and people from underrepresented groups to apply for this position.ย \n\nEstately is striving to be a diverse team, made of and built by people with different backgrounds and lifestyles. We don't discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, age, religion, color, or any other group.\n\nEstately is striving to be a diverse team, made of and built by people with different backgrounds and lifestyles. \nData stream processing is redefining what’s possible in the world of data-driven applications and services. Apache Flink is one of the systems at the forefront of this development, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with data stream processing.\n\nApache Flink currently powers some of the largest data stream processing pipelines in the world, with users such as Alibaba, Uber, ING, Netflix, and more running Flink in production. Flink is also one of the most active and fastest-growing open source projects in the Apache Software Foundation.\n\nOne of Flink’s most popular APIs is SQL. Unlike many other systems, Flink features SQL as a unified API for batch and stream processing, meaning that a query computes the same results regardless whether it is executed on static data sets or data streams. Flink’s SQL support is the foundation for company-internal as well as publicly available data analytics services of enterprises, such as Alibaba, Huawei, and Uber.\n\ndata Artisans was founded in 2014 by the original creators of the Apache Flink project, and we’re building the next-generation platform for real-time data applications. We are tackling some of today’s biggest challenges in big data and data streaming.\n\nYour role:\n\n\n* In this role, you will be working on “Streaming SQL”, one of the hottest topics in stream processing as a member of the team at data Artisans that develops Flink’s relational APIs.\n\n* Flink’s SQL support receives a lot of attention, both from users as well as contributors. You will be working closely with the Apache Flink community to extend the support for ANSI SQL features, tune the performance, both on the level of the query optimizer as well as the query runtime, and implement connectors to ingest from and emit data to external storage systems.\n\n* When you are not coding or discussing feature designs, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to help evangelizing Flink’s SQL API by writing blog posts or speaking at meetups and conferences around the world\n\n\n\n\nWhat you’ll do all day:\n\n\n* Design and implement new features for Flink’s SQL API\n\n* Tune the performance of SQL queries by tweaking the query optimizer, improving generated code, and removing bottlenecks.\n\n* Implement connectors for external stream sources and storage systems.\n\n* Work with external contributors, discuss their designs, and review their code.\n\n* Write blog posts and present Flink at high-impact conferences around the world.\n\n* Become an Apache Flink and stream processing expert\n\n\n\n\nYou will love this job if you …\n\n... are familiar with the design of distributed data processing systems (e.g. Hadoop, Kafka, Flink, Spark)\n\n… you know how to design and implement a relational database or query processor.\n\n… you have a good command of Java and/or Scala and of course SQL.\n\n… you like working together with an awesome open source community to tackle challenging problems.\n\n… have great English skills and like to get in touch with users from around the world\n\n… have at least Master’s level degree in Computer Science, mathematics, engineering or similar field\n\nWhat we offer:\n\n\n* Competitive salary and stock options\n\n* Tech gear of your choice\n\n* International team environment (10 nationalities so far)\n\n* Flexible working arrangements (home office, flexible working hours)\n\n* Unlimited vacation policy, so take time off when you need it\n\n* Spacious office space in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin\n\n* Snacks, coffee and beverages in the office\n\n* Relocation assistance if needed\n\n* Hackathons and weekly technical Lunch Talks to keep your head full of inspirations and ideas!\n\n\n

Knack is hiring a senior javascript engineer! Youโ€™ll be an integral part of our engineering team focused on building and scaling a world-class product.\n\nWe do things a little differently here at Knack, and thatโ€™s just how we like it:\n\n* *Flat*: we donโ€™t have project managers or dictates from a CTO. Each engineer is lead on multiple projects and is expected to make major decisions.\n* *Autonomous*: our engineers own their projects, collectively determine technical implementation, and have the freedom to define how they can maximize their impact.\n* *Engaged*: our engineers think of their job as more than just 1s and 0s. Only by engaging with our product, our customers, and our team can they be fully equipped to do their best work.\n* *Remote*: to make this work our engineers are great communicators and are highly involved with hangouts/chat/discussions around both engineering topics and larger company issues.\n\nThis isnโ€™t for everyone, but for the right fit this will be the definitive experience of your career. Our goal will be to ensure you are driven and supported to continuously grow and do your best work.\n\nThis is a senior position, so weโ€™re looking for a strong track record of shipping code and building products at scale. With that said, weโ€™re not looking for a 100% match on experience or our stack. If you have a history of shipping solid work, weโ€™re interested.

\nThe candidate\nTodoist as a platform is constantly evolving. Every day we are working on improving the service, to add something new and useful to it, and to make it more stable, fast and convenient for users. Its a challenging task, since official Todoist applications are available on 10+ platforms, and the number of integrations from independent developers is 50+ and growing. \nWe believe that open API and clear documentation, equally convenient both for us and for independent developers is a cornerstone for solving the task. Close collaboration between Todoist development team, partners and independent developers is turning Todoist into a true productivity hub.\nFor solving that challenging task we are searching for a person with deep understanding of internet technologies and trends, vast experience in design and development of programming interfaces, developed engineering intuition and communication skills. \nWhat you will be doing\n * Design, write and review application code\n * Have the leading role in planning the evolution of Todoist API\n * Take care of API for new features and API updates \n * Take care of deprecation policies (plan, communicate, enforce)\n * Implement the changes in close collaboration with our mobile development teams, partners and independent developers\n * Design and build integrations between Todoist and third-party platforms\n * Help other Todoist teams, third-party partners and independent developers to build services around Todoist API (Includes meeting with partners, responding to questions by email, support in GitHub & writing documentation.)\n \n\n\nBenefits\n\nWere bootstrapped, profitable, and committed to building a sustainable company that will continue to grow for decades to come. That means we value work-life balance and invest in our employees long-term growth. We offer: \n * Competitive compensation\n * Generous paid vacation + national holidays\n * Education stipends\n * Flexible schedule and location \n * And much more\n \n\nThis is a remote position, so you will be free to work from wherever you please on whatever schedule works best for you. Youll also have the option to work from our office in Porto, Portugal or rent a co-working space in the city where you live.\nYou can read more about how we work on our team blog, in this Forbes article, and in this Fast Company article.

\nEssential Algorithms Solutions (EAS) has an opening for two (2) experienced senior-level C++ programmers to add to our existing team.  This work-from-home contract style position offers a full time opportunity to each developer selected for the position.\n\nC++ is the main programming language used at EAS; however, candidates are expected to be 'full stack' and have experience in web APIs, web services, JSON, etc, since nearly all of our in-house applications either produce or consume web services.  Many of the services we interact with are undocumented or legacy code, so patience and investigative skills to determine how a given remote API works and how to extract the needed information from it are of the highest importance.  \n\nIn addition to web APIs, the position also involves programming for a variety of our sports wagering and online gambling related products.  Example projects might include (but are certainly not limited to) collection or aggregation of sports statistics; development of risk management tools; creation of random number generators (RNG) and casino game logic; and development of our Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) product.\n\nFor this position, emphasis is placed on the applicant's ability to produce solutions with minimal outside help.  As this is a senior-level position, all applicants are expected to be able to write the required applications from start to finish, including design of any database queries or tables.  Design specifications will be provided for each project prior to commencement.  While actual programming ability is one of the key requirements of this position, applicants for this senior-level posting are expected to show initiative and take a practical approach towards solving real-world problems.\n\nMost of the applications developed at EAS are in the realm of sports betting and online casino games / online gambling.

\nAh, the dreaded job description.  Believe it or not, it’s actually as difficult to write a good job description to catch your interest as it is to write a catchy resume and cover letter that catches our interest.\n\nSo why don’t we just get right to it.  Here’s the 6 item tl;dr checklist before you hit the apply button:\n\n* Read this: We’re hiring!\n\n* Have you done work in Java?\n\n* Have you done work on the front end?\n\n* Are you employable in the US and live in one of these states: CA, OR, WA, NE.\n\n* Write a cover letter telling us about your favorite project.\n\n\n\nCompleted those tasks?  Now let me tell you about the job.\n\nAfter a decade of our current UI, we're ready to make an upgrade to a more responsive, modern UI to help improve our clients' workflow. Are you up for that challenge?\n\nThe product, DF Studio (www.dfstudio.com), is a professional photo asset management tool used by industry professionals (from small studios to the likes of HBO, Fox, and A&E) for their day to day asset management. Their work is data heavy, image heavy, and fast.\n\nOur (you included) focus will be to navigate the waters of client needs and their established workflow to help improve the experience and efficiency of using DF Studio. We’re looking for ways to redesign with clean, functional, fast, and elegant UI/UX paradigms to allow our clients to get their jobs done even better than now, whether on a desktop, laptop, phone, or a tablet and even watches. Basically if it has a screen (or even something without a screen), we want to make sure they can use it to get their work done better.\n\nYour tools? We’re just starting now so the sooner you can get in the door, the sooner we can hear what you have to suggest. We're exploring frameworks including AngularJS and Aurelia, libraries such as Knockout, and different CSS systems such as Bootstrap and Semantic UI. Keep in mind that we're looking for responsiveness, ability to package and build pages uniformly and easily, and creating clean and reusable code.\n\nOur backend is written in Java/Kotlin so there will be responsibilities to create new APIs and modify existing backend code. We are a small team so you may need to get comfortable with accessing the full stack: AWS/EC2, Postgres, Linux command line, JSPs, Java/Kotlin, Javascript, Tomcat as well as taking on client facing duties: social postings, support, client training, etc. It’s everything in one job. You’ll learn a lot.\n\nAre you still interested? If you are, so are we. This is a full-time, remote position with light (3-4 times a year) travel requirements to the main office in Culver City, CA. At this time though, we can only accept US residents and our list of preferred states are: California, Oregon, Washington, and Nebraska. Something about taxes and employment our lawyer and accountant asked us to mention.\n\nIf you've gotten this far, go ahead and hit the Apply button and send us your CV and cover letter. Actually, in lieu of a cover letter (which I’m sure wasn’t going to be a generic one right?), give us a short story about your favorite project (paid or unpaid, we all have our side projects that mean a lot to us). Keep in mind what we wrote above and find the relevance. Think of this as our test of your writing skills.  Our development team is small and spread out across various states so clear and concise communication is crucial.\n\nOh, and be sure to address your cover letter to Michael.  This is a small test to make sure you actually read and understand what it is we're asking of you, which is another crucial aspect of this job.  You'll be surprised how many people don't.  Consider yourself an exception.\n\nGood luck, but it’s not luck that will get you through :)\n\n      6. Now go ahead and hit the Apply button.

Ideal Candidate\nWe're interested in someone comfortable with a generalist and devops role. You should be knowledgeable of standard system administration tasks and have a firm understanding of the role of load balancers and cluster architecture. It's 100x harder to write code if you don't know how the underlying operating system works.\nWe're looking for someone with a legitimate passion for technology, big data, and analyzing vast amounts of content.\nWe are also looking for people outside of the U.S. and Canada to maximize our time zone distribution. Ideally there should be least a 4 hour overlap with the Pacific Standard Time Zone (PST / UTC-8). We're based out of San Francisco but are migrating to the international level. If you don't have a natural time overlap with UTC-8 you should be willing to work evenings to be able to communicate easily with the rest of the team.\nCulturally, weโ€™re a remote company and want to embrace it as a way to reward our employees. We are fine with you working in remote locations as long as youโ€™re generally available for communication and are productive.\nWe want someone to come in full time in a contractor role. We will need about 40 hours from you per week. \nJob Responsibilities:\nUnderstanding our crawler infrastructure and ensuring top quality metadata for our customers. There's a significant batch job component to analyze the output from the crawl to ensure top quality data.\nMaking sure our infrastructure is fast, reliable, fault tolerant, etc. At times this may involve diving into the source of tools like ActiveMQ, Cassandra and understand how the internals work. We contribute a LOT to Open Source development if our changes need to be given back to the community.\nBuilding out new products and technology that will directly interface with customers. This includes cool features like full text search, analytics, etc. It's extremely rewarding to build something from ground up and push it to customers directly. \nArchitecture:\nOur infrastructure consists of Java on Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) with the stack running on ActiveMQ, Cassandra, Zookeeper, and Jetty. We use Ansible to manage our boxes. We have a full-text search engine based on Elasticsearch, and store our firehose API data within Cassandra.\nWe have a totally new stack and infrastructure at this point. We recently did a full-stack rewrite and moved all the old code to our new infrastructure. This means we have very little legacy cruft to deal with.\nHere's all the cool stuff you get to play with:\nLarge Linux / Ubuntu cluster running with the OS versioned using both Ansible and our own debian packages for software distribution.\nMassive amount of data indexed from the web and social media. We index from 5-20TB of data per month and want to expand to 100TB of data per month.\nLarge Cassandra install on SSD. \nSOLR / Elasticsearch migration / install. Weโ€™re experimenting with bringing this up now so it would be valuable to get your feedback.\nTechnical Skills:\nHere's where you shine! we're looking for someone with a number of the following requirements:\nLinux. Linux. Linux. Did I say Linux? We like Linux.\nExperience in modern Java development and associated tools.\nMaven, IntelliJ IDEA, Guice (dependency injection)\nA passion for testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.\nCassandra. Stores content indexed by our crawler.\nActiveMQ. Powers our queue server for scheduling crawl work.\nA general understanding and passion for distributed systems.\nAnsible or equivalent experience with configuration management.\nStandard web API use and design. (HTTP, JSON, XML, HTML, etc).\nCultural Fit:\nWeโ€™re a lean startup and very driven by our interaction with customers, as well as their happiness and satisfaction. Our philosophy is that you shouldnโ€™t be afraid to throw away a week's worth of work if our customers arenโ€™t interested in moving in that direction.\nWe hold the position that our customers are 1000x smarter than we are and we try to listen to them intently, and consistently.\nProficiency in English is a requirement. Since you will have colleagues in various countries with various primary language skills we all need to use English as our common company language. You must also be able to work with email, draft proposals, etc. Internally we work as a large distributed Open Source project and use tools like traditional email, Slack, Google Hangouts, and Skype.\nFamiliarity working with a remote team and ability (and desire) to work for a virtual company. \nShould have a home workstation, fast Internet access, etc.\nMust be able to manage your own time and your own projects. \nSelf-motivated employees will fit in well with the rest of the team.\nIt goes without saying but being friendly and a team player is very important.\n\n\nExtra tags: Linux. Linux. Linux. Did I say Linux? We like Linux. Experience in modern Java development and associated tools. Maven, IntelliJ IDEA, Guice (dependency injection) A passion for testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. Cassandra. Stores content indexed by our crawler. ActiveMQ. \nAs a Senior C# Web API Developer, you will make the data flow. We have a lot of friends and they crave well-structured data. We need your help to make them smile!\n\nWhat you tell your friends you do\n'I'm one of the great minds at Coolblue. I weave my magic behind the scenes to craft top notch REST services. I ensure that data flows around Coolblue like water.'\n\nWhat you will really be doing\n\n\n* Create extremely well crafted backend services in C#. \n\n* Help to redesign the data flow into Coolblue's applications in a RESTful manner.\n\n* Create services that separate the responsibilities of the current back office applications, essentially creating a service-oriented architecture for our new applications.\n\n* Develop interfaces to any number of required data stores (for example; Oracle, SQL Server, RavenDB, or Couchbase).\n\n* Write testable code that will be continuously tested and deployed by TeamCity and Octopus Deploy, and will therefore have a real effect on live environments.\n\n* Coach and provide feedback to fellow developers.\n\n* Think about technical choices, such as our architecture, tools and processes.\n\n\n\n\nHow will you be doing this?\n\n\n* You will actively participate in your team's (multidisciplinary) Scrum process.\n\n* You will receive and pro-actively get feedback from end users and developers. After evaluation of this feedback you might incorporate it in a new iteration.\n\n* You will initiate and actively participate in discussions about technical choices, such as our architecture, tools, and processes. Choices that were made in the past are not rules.\n\n* You open pull requests, review the code and give feedback that makes your team even better.\n\n* You will work in a motivated team, get the time needed to meet ambitious goals.\n\n* You will actively improve overall software quality. Write SOLID and testable C# code.\n\n* There is always a budget for good ideas.\n\n\n\n\nWhat we have worked on last quarter\n\n\n* Incoming Goods. The internal application that supports putting away new stock was re-written. The Web API developers wrote services to interface with both old and new data-stores in order to modernise the new application without interfering with existing business processes.\n\n* Mobile Application. The Coolblue iPhone and Android app need real-time information about picking and packing of orders. RESTful services were built to enable this real-time information flow.\n\n\n\n\nWhat a day in the office might look like\nOn the way in, you grab very drinkable coffee and make sure you say 'Goedemorgen' to everyone. Drop your bag at your desk and head over to the colleague that has some questions. You'll spend a few minutes with him, before you need to get back for your 9:30 stand-up. Today you need to finish up the service for the purchasing optimisation team; you just need to finish up the test cases and push it into CI by the time you go for lunch - you chuck your headphones in and get on with it. You take a break for lunch at the Markthal with your newest friends; making sure that you're back in time for the meeting with a data engineer that will help you design a new replacement for the current integration with Oracle. You stop on the way back to grab another coffee and discuss the semantics of PUT vs POST with the team next door. You spend the remainder of your afternoon writing a blog post in the IT Wiki on the new queuing methodology you demoed last week, and then pack up and, because it's Friday, head out for a beer with your colleagues.\n\nTeam\nYou will be working in a team with a few other sharp developers, each of them with their own fanaticism, ranging from code quality and testability, to algorithms and scalability. Your team is complemented by a Scrum Master and a Product Owner. You might want to ensure that you come equipped with your own NERF gun though ... Fortune favours the prepared.

Repable powers data-informed decision making for streamers and eSports athletes. Our passion is gaming, and we're constantly flipping back and forth between hard work and quick bursts of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League & other games. We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates. \n\nWeโ€™re currently looking for a back-end developer to turn our MVP into something scalable. The position requires a lot of flexibility and deep knowledge in scraping and API consumption. Ideally, you have experience working with startups and/or with analytics companies. You'll be working with a rounded team of individuals, including a product manager, a front-end developer and a dedicated UI/UX designer. Given that the team is small, you'll be able to dabble into many parts of the development process, while keeping a strong focus on our back-end services. \n\nWeโ€™re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were. \n\nWhat Your First Year Will Look Like: \n\n- You'll be an integral part of building the Repable platform. This includes API integration with 3rd party sites, web scraping using AWS / cloud services, and the set up of a basic consumer-facing SaaS service back end.\n- Youโ€™ll play a role in the direction and growth plan of product, and implement that vision from a tech perspective. This means that some days, youโ€™ll be discussing traffic growth and elasticity with the team, the advisors and investors of the company.\n- Youโ€™ll help the company stay real, by showing us solutions that will give us 80% of what we need for 20% of the cost. \n\nRequirements:\n\n- Mastery of web scraping and consuming information from third party APIs are a must. You'll have shown a track record of doing this in the past. \n- A thorough understanding of Amazon Web Services and competing suites of products. \n- Extensive experience in your front-end language of choice. No, really. Weโ€™re agnostic at this point, but we do have opinions. \n- Youโ€™ve successfully led or substantially participated in the development and deployment of a client-facing SaaS app. \n- Youโ€™re comfortable with product development and web operations. You can easily interact with product managers, designers, engineers, web operators and BI / analytics teams. \n- You can tell us during our initial meetings all about SaaS apps and what particular challenges they bring, and how youโ€™ve overcome some of them.\n- Youโ€™ll temper dreams and be able to propose solutions that will give the company 80% of what it needs for 20% of the cost. \n\nQualifications:\n\nExperience: 1 to 5 years experience in a similar role.\n\nSkills:\n\nSystem Architecture, Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API consumption, Web Scraping, Backend Development \n\nPerks:\n\n- Work with people who have done this before\n- A competitive startup salary\n- Stock options - a part of this company could be yours\n- Grow the early stage of a company\n\n\nExtra tags: Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API Consumption, Web Scraping, Back-end Development

\nVolumental is building a world that fits you, where all products and services are customized to your body shape. Through changing how the world designs, manufactures, buys and sells products, we minimize returns, transform production and reduce waste. We enable artisans, and make people happier through putting the individual in the center of product creation. We are a diverse and supportive team passionate about making the fashion and retail industry more sustainable (see more at About Volumental).\n\nYou will be part of our small and fast growing web team that's creating the digital infrastructure for this custom future. You’ll be in charge of building a world-class web API and cloud platform, communicating with and connecting e-commerce, thousands of hardware units, mobile apps and user-facing web front-ends.\n\nAs part of the web team at Volumental, you will solve challenging and fun problems like: How to compute, analyse and store millions of models of bodies in a fast, secure and scalable way? How to interface with the e-commerce giants of the world to create a great shopping experience where fit is always guaranteed? How to monitor thousands of in-store devices with sporadic connectivity?\n\nYou’ll be architecting things from scratch that we will scale to millions of users (one of the benefits of a fast-growing startup!). You’ll be doing stuff most companies don’t do, like REST APIs talking to hardware devices, algo servers with GPUs (dynamically scaled based on demand), real time event dispatch and web apps (handsets, 3D visualisation, etc.). You’re highly encouraged to spend time and attend courses and conferences to develop new skills and excel at these tasks.

Hi there!\n\nWe're looking for someone to join the engineering team at Zapier. Interested in creating a simple product that allows anyone to do complex, incredible things with the world's APIs? Then read onโ€ฆ\n\n# About You\n\nYou love building and learning new things.\n\nMost of what you'll do day-to-day will involve working with our frontend, design and UX teams to create amazing and intuitive experiences that make it effortless to connect different apps together. We use some pretty cool tech - we're transitioning our Backbone.js frontend to a modern React + Redux architecture and having a lot of fun with it. We love ES6 and are embracing a functional approach to problem solving.\n\nYou've worked with teams before on large single-page apps - the frontend framework or language doesn't matter much to us - instead, you understand how to manage complexity and balance technical limitations with product requirements. Simple and sustainable code, performance and correctness are all top of mind for you.\n\nYou love working with customers to help understand their needs and translate a product spec into functional, production ready code.\n\nYou love doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.\n\nYou love learning. Engineering is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet.\n\nYou love to set your own course. At Zapier, we have one team meeting each week and one-on-one meetings every month and then we go make things happen.\n\n# Things You Might Do\n\nZapier is a startup, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. Here are some things you'll get a taste of:\n\n- Build and maintain new user facing features or overhaul existing ones.\n- Research, guide and execute broad frontend architecture changes.\n- Work with complex and varied data structures (APIs be crazy!).\n- Ship to hundreds of thousands of users every day.\n- Work and ship product independently.\n- Share what you know and learn either one-on-one or with lightning talks to the group.\n- Give back to the community via open source and blog posts.\n- Help customers via support to ensure they have the best experience possible.\n\n# About Zapier\n\nFor the past four years, Zapier has been helping people across the world automate the boring and tedious parts of their job. We do that by helping everyone connect the web applications they already use and love.\n\nWe believe that there are jobs a computer is best at doing and that there are jobs a human is best at doing. We want to empower businesses to create processes and systems that let computers do what they are best at doing and let humans do what they are best at doing.\n\nWe believe that with the right tools, you can have big impact with less hassle.\n\nWe believe in small teams. Small teams are fast and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and less management and more getting things done.\n\nWe believe that credentials don't say everything. Our CTO has a finance degree. Our CEO has an engineering degree. Our CPO has a mechanical engineering degree. What you love doing is way more important than the credentials you have.\n\n# The Whole Package\n\nLocation: Planet Earth.\n\nIf you want to work remote, that's great. If you want to work near others, that's cool too. Our team is distributed across California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois and the UK because it lets us work with the best people. You don't have to be located in the USA either. Some of the team live in the United Kingdom, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. You just have to be talented!\n\nCompensation:\n\n- Competitive salary (we don't use remote as an excuse to pay less)\n- Great healthcare + dental + vision coverage\n- Retirement plan with 4% company match\n- Profit sharing\n- 2-3 annual company retreats to awesome places\n- 14 weeks paid leave for new parents\n- Pick your own equipment. We'll set you up with whatever laptop + monitor combo you want plus any software you need.\n\nUnlimited vacation policy (plus we insist you take at least 2 weeks off each year - this isn't a vague policy where unlimited vacation means no vacation). Work-life balance is really important to everyone at Zapier - we believe it and practice it!\n\nWork with awesome companies around the world. We partner great software companies all over the world and you'll constantly get to [interact with people from these great companies](https://zapier.com/zapbook/).\n\nExtra tags: frontend, engineer, dev, React, Redux, API

\nWe're looking to bring on a new Junior developer that has expertise in ASP.net MVC5 / WebApi 2.  This person will join our API development team in creating a robust and secure API for a greenfield re-write of our leading CRM solution. \n\n\nTechnologies you should (hopefully) know about: \n\n\n* ASP.net MVC specifically WebAPI 2\n\n* C# (and a strong hatred of Visual Basic)\n\n* Autofac (DI), Automapper, EF6 Code First\n\n* Azure deployments\n\n* Git source control is a must\n\n* Knowledge of Angular would be awesome\n\n* We use Teamcity for CI builds and Octopus to deploy to QA/beta/staging/prod\n\n* Jira agile development flow\n\n* We use Slack/Screenhero for communication between remote team members\n\n\n\n\nWe're a group of around 10 developers split into UI and API teams to build out this next-gen CRM platform quickly but not sacrificing scalability. We work hard but get rewarded for our efforts, we have a very generous bonus structure and solid base compensation. \n\nOccasional travel to the office in Atlanta, GA may be required.\n\nWe don't care if you have a degree, we care about code and you ability to run with ideas without needing constant supervision.

\nSeeking a C#/HTML5/JS developer for an awesome 100% remote contract position.  Ditch the daily grind and code with us from the comfort of your home or wherever your dev-dojo may be!\n\nThis is a 1099 6-month full-time (40hr/wk) contract, with opportunity for continuation, for developing a smart touchscreen IoT controller for use in the energy industry marketed by a Fortune 500 client.  There’s already a few thousand systems in the field and we need extra help to expand the feature set and target some new applications.  We’re ready for you to start coding with us right away!\n\nThe product is an IoT embedded system that’s installed in various outdoor locations on a utility pole, and connects to the internet with a cell modem or other means.  It uses an ARM processor running Linux and the Mono .NET runtime.  An HTML5/JS single-page app is served for both the local touchscreen and remote access UI.\n\nWhat we’re using:\n\n\n* C# 4.5 on ARM/Linux/Mono, SignalR, OWIN/Katana, Dapper, JSON.NET, nUnit.  SQLite.  \n\n* HTML5/JS.  Angular, jQuery, Bootstrap, Require.  WebSockets.  We don’t do any page rendering on the server.  All pages are served static and rendered client-side from JSON data pulled and pushed from server API.\n\n* Developer activities are performed in VS2013, with cloud-based TFS revision control and rolling build.  Code/test/debug on Windows, deploy to Linux.\n\n* Low-latency collaboration via IM, voice calls, and video chat.\n\n* Lots of FOSS with frequent contributions.  In fact, the Software Lead has PR’s accepted into Mono, SignalR, JSON.NET, OWIN/Katana, and Chosen to name a few.  Get paid for working on FOSS code if it’s a bug-fix or feature needed in our project!\n\n\n\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\n\n* Implementing code for features and bug fixes as directed by the Software Lead and product stakeholders.\n\n* Requirements gathering from time to time. For some tasks you’ll need to get on conference calls with the domain experts and figure out the details of what’s needed and how best to achieve it.\n\n* The primary focus for this contract is to expand the system capabilities to control Electrical Submersible Pumps.  There will be plenty of server-side C# work for the embedded logic and data flow as well as client-side JS for configuration, real-time status, reports, and history views.\n\n* Provide detailed analysis and recommendations to the Software Lead.  If you have a better way of doing something and can light the way, we’re open.  \n\n\n

\nOxford Valuation Partners is a leading financial advisory firm, specializing in Private Company Valuation, Mergers & Acquisitions, and 409a Reports. OVP works with startups and venture capital firms to provide critical business services to emerging firms raising capital, allocating options, and heading towards IPO or sale.\n\nOVP already provides its clients with top-notch professional services. Now, we're bringing those services into the online arena, so our clients can collaborate better with our expert staff to manage and control key financial aspects of their corporations.\n\nThe world of funding, financing, and compliance is complex and challenging, and underpins much of the vibrancy in the tech sector today. This position is a good opportunity to gain exposure to this space, learn how it all works, and advance the state of the art in financial applications. \n\nThis role initially entails implementing document management and document-related messaging frontends and integrating these into 3rd party systems and our Ruby on Rails application. Over time, we expect you to become involved in architecting and implementing components all across the application.\n\nOur application is Ruby on Rails using PostgresQL as the data store. In keeping with modern programming standards, we're developing the front-end responsively and will use REST APIs to separate concerns. As the lead front-end developer for the project, you have a key role in making the application shine, and we expect you to be fluent with modern patterns and expectations.\n\nAs a developer, you should be a strong problem solver with a focus on simplicity, performance, and security. API integrations are definitely a part of the role. The focus of the role is on presentation & integration, but being able to go further down the stack will definitely be a plus. \n\nThe team is distributed so strong communication skills and openness to collaboration are important as well. We use Git and Slack as our primary collaboration tools.\n\nThis role is a contract role. We envision it starting between half- and full-time, and evolving into a fulltime role.
