We are looking for a remote, experienced Cloud (native) Engineer that believes that public cloud, open source and cutting edge cloud native principles can help developers release faster and release better software that is secure, scalable and reliable.{linebreak}{linebreak}You will become part of a distributed, diverse and international team that tries to be a different kind of company. [Check out our jobs page for more on that](https://skyscrapers.eu/jobs).{linebreak}{linebreak}Note that we are looking in the timezones between UTC-4 and UTC+3 to keep things practical.{linebreak}{linebreak}# Responsibilities{linebreak} Depending on your specific skill set, passions and desires you’ll be tasked with a combination of any of the following:{linebreak}{linebreak}* Support developers in using the platforms we build and making the right decisions{linebreak}* Providing customers with expertise, guidance and engineering services (as part of ongoing commitments or consulting projects){linebreak}* Setting up and maintaining platforms for customers{linebreak}* Ensure the operational availability, performance and efficiency of the various platforms we build{linebreak}* Researching, designing and implementing reference architectures and components based on the technologies we use (Kubernetes, serverless, open source){linebreak}* Increase the automation of everything we do by codifying operational best practices{linebreak}* Participate in a (weekly) 24/7 rotation and some other non-24/7 shared roles{linebreak}* Occasional travel to meet colleagues, attend events and customers. {linebreak}{linebreak}# Requirements{linebreak}The expertise and skills we’re looking for:{linebreak}{linebreak}* Amazon Web Services architectures for modern web applications (EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS, EKS, S3, etc) holds no secrets for you{linebreak}* You are a wizard of the clouds employing such spells as infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and using versioning (GitHub){linebreak}* Excellent Linux-fu skills (command line, tools, scripting, networking, etc){linebreak}* Ops: troubleshooting and fixing running systems make you feel like a ninja{linebreak}* Captain of containers: you have hands-on experience with deploying and managing containers{linebreak}* Modern web-app workflows and architectures makes you warm inside: CI/CD, 12-factor app and containerisation{linebreak}{linebreak}The more fluffy things we like (aka soft skills):{linebreak}{linebreak}* Excellent communicator using English: well considered, constructive, clear, no-bullshit and transparent communication through text and voice. (don’t worry about your accent, we all have one ;-) ){linebreak}* Be able to cope with change and ambiguity. You better be ready for that as it is not only a reality in our company but also in the world around us.{linebreak}* Passionate about technology, cloud and devops: you can't stop learning and have a desire to continuously want to stay on the cutting edge.{linebreak}* You think independently and take responsibility for the overall success of the organisation and have the maturity to speak your mind in a constructive way.{linebreak}* You are utmost professional in all the work you do by taking responsibility and delivering quality work at all times.{linebreak}* Transparency in work and people don’t scare you so we all have the information we need to get things done, grow and support one another.{linebreak}* You are absolutely respectful of everything and everybody. We embrace diversity.{linebreak}* Being a teamplayer comes naturally to you. You enjoy participating fully in all team activities and don’t hesitate to support others when needed.{linebreak}* You strive for wholeness in everything you do, both professionally and personally.{linebreak}* Be a self-starter: without anybody telling you, you know what to do today, you know where to search for the information you need to learn/get things done and you are not afraid or too proud to ask for help because you can’t possibly know everything.{linebreak}* Customers (Developers, CTO’s, etc) don’t scare you. Speaking with them, helping them out, whatever technical level they may be at, is no problem for you. {linebreak}{linebreak}#Location{linebreak}- From UTC-4 to UTC+3

This year

We Are: {linebreak}MageMojo Magento hosting, a group of 40 talented devops guys who all work remotely. We believe passionate, talented people all working together smoothly yields awesome work that lets us build a solid infra and processes to prevent fires instead of spending time always putting out fires. We get along and we constantly improve only because we don't bullsh!t each other or our clients, we don't hide or say what we think others want to hear. We do this with respect and we value truth, transparency and honesty above all else. Of course there are times when we are in headphones-on, hyper-concentration mode. But we also draw a lot of support from each other and try to focus on the "human side" of support. We are curious students of the internet age who are interested in continuing to enhance our own work, sharing what we've learned, and learning from those around us. {linebreak}{linebreak}You Are: {linebreak}A solid human being with a good sense of humor in search of a job with a crew that is big enough to host important, meaningful sites and small enough to have fun doing it. Attention to detail and a seamless customer experience are important to you. You feel at home in the shell and have some scripting knowledge. You know there's nothing you can't do and no problem you can't solve with the help of the Interwebz, and Google of course. You have strong opinions about the way things should be done but aren't necessarily a zealot for any one process, technology, or denomination. You're inclined to express yourself through animated gifs and obscure movie quotes from the youtubes. You work well at the 11th hour, but even better at the first and second so we can be out at end of shift. You have an ear to the ground for new tech, whether it comes from hacker news or a programming subreddit, and a desire to dive in and try things out. {linebreak}{linebreak}How To Apply: {linebreak}Submit your resume and a few words about yourself, your achievements, what you love most in life, and what you want out of your career. We're not interested in standard issue cover letter babble and HR bubble wrap. Talk to us like a human being who values directness and using your own words. If you need to use a four-letter word to effectively express a previous engagement or an appropriately inappropriate metaphor to describe your ideal work environment, we'll take that over what you would think we typically "need to hear" in a job application. This is a full-time position with benefits and we're open to starting you with a freelance gig if wading into the water is preferred on both sides. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

At Reify Health, we are building a more creative healthcare system.
