**DESCRIPTION**

Before you start reading, keep in mind that the aim of this job ad is to give you a feel for what it’s like to work at Catapult. There’s lots of research which suggests people often don’t apply because of so-called “requirements” in a job description. If you’re an experienced engineer, like the sound of working here and see something you’re not an expert in yet, that’s great, apply and you can learn it here!

What you’re getting yourself in for

Our mission is to build the worlds best part time job. We spend our time thinking about how to give a global workforce complete control of their own work life while completely automating the hundreds of thousands of man hours which would normally be required to manage people on this scale.

We do this through React Native based iOS and Android applications, React based web applications, a mixture of Ruby/ Rails and Phoenix/ Elixir on the backend and Rest API’s to communicate with machine learning services from our data science team.

Businesses ranging from the largest high-street retailers to five star hotels and and independent coffee boutiques rely on Catapult as their casual workforce. If you’ve spent time in London, you’ve probably been served by a Catapult waiter or sales assistant without even realising it!

Our company values https://writing.joincatapult.com/our-values/ are really important to us and influence every facet of how we work together.

Things we’ve been working on recently

No two days are ever the same in a startup, but to give you a flavour of what we’ve been up to recently:

Building a stand-alone signup service to test different approaches to user on-boarding. We took this as an opportunity to test out Phoenix + GraphQL. We were so impressed with the productivity boost we’re also now incorporating GraphQL into our primary Rails application
Using Kubernetes to deploy standalone environments for our feature branches, complete with anonymised production data
Re-thinking how we test Javascript and what the line should be between unit tests and acceptance tests
About the role

We’ve been growing rapidly over the last three years and as we start our international roll out, we’re looking for ambitious engineers to help us build the future of work. Our engineering principles https://writing.joincatapult.com/engineering-principles/ give a good feel for how we work together and what we value.

You’ll be working joining out remote team so working from anywhere in Europe is fine! We work in small cross-functional pods of developers who focus on a particular product area and encourage people to rotate across teams.

**REQUIREMENTS**

We've found that the best developers are outliers so these are guidelines rather than firm requirements. If you're passionate about building great software, finding the best tools for the job and learning new skills, we'd like to hear from you!

About You

* Solid experience developing web or mobile applications commercially
* You really buy into the importance of getting things into the hands of a user quickly and then iterating
* You actively think about when to incur technical debt and when to pay it back
* You like to explore new technologies and have a keen eye for when something new can add real business value
* Bonus points for Rails, React, Phoenix or GraphQL

**BENEFITS**

As well as being a part of a well funded startup at one of the most exciting phases of it’s growth, you’ll get:

* Competitive salary + stock options
* A strong approach to professional development and mentorship, everyone has a dedicated L&D budget for books, training, conferences and the like
* Product retreats at least every two months where the whole team either comes to London or goes somewhere warm (the next one's in Lisbon!), looks back on how we can improve and then spends a week together hacking on new ideas and exploring new technologies
* Regular social events & the opportunity to travel to our other offices
* Company Macbook Pro which you’re free to take home
* A flexible work environment focused on output not hours
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays

**Plug in Useful make some of the [most popular SaaS web apps for Shopify](http://https://www.pluginuseful.com/collections/apps). With over 100k users we've followed the rapid growth of Shopify and are looking to add a senior engineer to our 100% remote team of six.**

As a Senior Software Engineer you'll have worked with React and Rails before and ideally have used the Flux pattern on a decent-sized web app. You can both architect software, building it from the ground up, and maintain existing systems in a thoughtful way.

Just as important is how you approach problems and work in the team. We don't want someone who puts their headphones on for three days and churns out code. Your instinct is to collaborate.

You'll work closely with our product manager to gather requirements, come up with technical solutions, present these in a clear non-technical way and agree on what to do.

You'll both mentor and learn from our software engineer through code reviews and working on problems together. And you'll help our QA tester to understand changes, how best to test them and be responsive in fixing bugs.

We're 100% remote across different timezones so clear, regular communication is key. Your location isn't important as long as there's a roughly 4 hour overlap with Eastern Time and European Time.

You're experienced in working remotely and have found a schedule and setup that works best for you. If that's a coworking space we can pay for that, but that's optional since you decide where you're at your most productive.

### Skills & Experience
* 1+ years React or similar frontend frameworks
* 3+ years Rails
* 5+ years software engineering
* Have worked on web apps, ideally B2B SaaS
* Software architecture
* Have used a few different software patterns
* Very collaborative
* Clear non-technical communicator
* Have worked remotely
* Curious about new technologies
* Ideally have worked with Kanban

Full time, 100% remote from any location with a 4 hour overlap with Eastern Time and European Time. We believe strongly in work/life balance with reasonable hours (usually 37.5 hours or occasionally more when required) and paid time off.

Requirements

Apply by sending your CV and a brief email intro to jobs@pluginuseful.com. We love it when you mention something from the job description.

Senior Software Engineer - Core

Reaction Commerce is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing core engineering team. As a part of the core team at Reaction Commerce you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the fastest growing open source commerce platform in the world. We’re looking for people who are highly communicative, self-directed, with well developed critical thinking skills.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be expected to write great code, ship product features independently and with a team, propose architectural recommendations, teach and enforce documentation standards and software design patterns during code reviews,  and participate in the technical interview process.

Responsibilities

As a senior software engineer at Reaction Commerce, the day to day responsibilities are broad and you’re ultimately responsible for shipping software. While not exhaustive, this is a list of the type of work that we expect you’ll spend the majority of your time on day to day.

* Write great code that is well tested and thoroughly documented

* Develop, support, and improve our GraphQL API

* Design, build, and maintain real-time, event-driven systems, services, and features

* Create new components and improve existing components in our React component library

* Teach and enforce software engineering patterns during code reviews

* Work with the architecture team by proposing recommendations, building prototypes, and providing feedback.

* Work with the QA Engineering team to define test patterns and implement and improve CI processes for projects you’re working on.

* Author documentation for development patterns and features

* Actively communicate status of tasks and projects to peers and leadership

Qualifications

This list of qualifications are our “hard requirements.” We’ve worked to keep it short and move anything that isn’t truly a requirement into the nice-to-have section. We believe you’ll excel in this role if you have significant experience doing the following:

* Writing modern JavaScript/ECMAScript code that is clean, well tested, and thoroughly documented

* Developing, optimizing, and scaling React and/or Node applications in production

* Writing automated tests in JavaScript

* Developing, securing, and consuming an API

* Developing with either relational (e.g. Postgres) or document databases (e.g. MongoDB)

* Communicating complex issues to technical and non-technical people in writing through documentation, proposals, and blog posts.

We value your knowledge and skills more than an arbitrary amount of experience using any specific technology or a university degree in a specific field. As a Senior Software Engineer, we expect that you’ll have the skills and knowledge that are typically gained working on production applications for many years and studying in a university Computer Science program, but we don’t care how you’ve acquired those skills or how long it took you.

Nice to have

Reaction is creating the leading commerce platform for enterprise retailers and the world’s first event-driven commerce platform. As we’re working with a lot of newer technology, we don’t expect candidates will necessarily have experience with our entire tech stack. The idea candidate will have deep experience in a few of these technologies, exposure to more, and excitement and capability to learn new skills as necessary.

* Designing, developing, documenting, securing, and/or consuming a GraphQL API using Relay or Apollo

* Developing inclusive, accessible applications, including experience with accessibility (a11y), internationalization (i18n), and localization (l10n)

* Using MongoDB at Scale

* Developing event driven applications using software such as Kafka

* Functional programming experience

* Programming in a JVM language such as Clojure, or Scala

* Developing commerce or logistics software

* Developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes

* Developing with Elasticsearch or other search engine technology

* Maintaining or contributing open source projects

* Experience with Kafka

* Experience using Clojure

* Working remotely

Characteristics

As a distributed team, building open-source software, we deeply understand that being a great software engineer is much more than just understanding design patterns and having a deep technical skillset. Our culture is one of communication, character, cooperation, and competence and we believe that people who have these foundational characteristics will fit in well and be able to hit the ground running.

We believe in being inclusive, welcoming, and supportive of anyone who comes to us with the desire to build, collaborate, and lead. To learn more, read our diversity statement.

* Motivated, self-starter who can work in a distributed team environment

* Open-minded mentality

* Goal oriented personality

* Empathy for customers, community, and co-workers

* Tendency to teach others what you know and excitement for sharing knowledge

* Growth oriented mindset and a desire to be better today than yesterday

* Desire to deliver an exceptional customer experience

* Critical thinker who will work to solve the right problem

* Cooperative attitude and an ability to pair program effectively with other engineers

* Ability to think holistically for a given project or problem

* Position:  Full Time

* Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience, stock options, medical and dental benefits

* Location: Americas Time zone

* Hours:

* ~40-50 hours/week

* Flexible: need to run an errand or have an appointment? Communicate and coordinate with your team and it’s not a problem.

* You’ll be expected to make team meetings and work at least 5 hours/day that overlap with 9AM-5PM Pacific

Benefits and Perks

* 100% coverage for medical, dental, and vision

* Minimum vacation policy & stipends

* Up to 12 weeks for new parent leave

* Stocked kitchen, weekly lunches, and office dogs at Santa Monica HQ

* 401K retirement plan

* Work from anywhere in the world

* Learning stipend for books, classes, or trainings

* Diverse and inclusive culture

* Bi-annual in-person all-hands meetups

Application Process: What to expect

Our application process begins once we receive your application and cover letter. Due to the volume of applicants, we only consider candidates who submit both and application with the required information, along with a detailed cover letter outlining why you want to work at Reaction Commerce. Candidates who don’t submit the necessary information will not be considered.

If we decide to move forward with your application, we’ll schedule a 30-45 minute screening video call via Zoom to learn more about your interests, talk about the role, and determine if Reaction Commerce is a mutual fit

We’ll then have a series of technical interviews. The first interview will be a technical conversation where we’ll discuss previous experience and work to uncover how your skill set might fill a need at Reaction Commerce.

Following the technical interview we’ll have one or more interviews focused on collaboratively solving problems with members of the engineering team. These interviews will involve writing code in a remote pair-programming type of scenario.

Finally, if appropriate based on location, we’ll conduct an onsite interview so that you’ll have the opportunity to meet key stakeholders on the team. If we can’t do this in person, we’ll arrange it as a video call.

At the offer stage, you will learn more about compensation, equity range, and benefits. While the entire process can take 4-6 weeks total depending on schedule availability, we’re committed to communicating progress frequently so you won’t be left wondering about the status of your application. We look forward to meeting you!

**About Differential**

Differential is growing! Yep, it turns out clients like us :) Our team of designers, developers, jokesters, and all around good folk needs more firepower. We’re proudly headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, but our team spans across the country.

In addition to only choosing the best group of people to work around, we are also very picky about the types of clients we’ll work with. In line with our mission to rapidly unlock value for good people with meaningful ideas, we partner with forward-thinking corporate pioneers and innovators to revolutionize their organizations from the inside out and bring impactful products to life. This translates to a diverse range of projects: from 3D closet builders for clients like Organized Living, to multi-platform mobile apps for large audiences like Crossroads Church.

We hire great, trustworthy people so that we can optimize for a free & flexible culture. Flexible hours, unlimited vacation, remote work, and working on stuff you're excited about. Turns out, when you've got a dedicated team that takes pride in their work, you don't have to worry about how much time they’re spending in the office.

**Job description**

The ideal candidate for this opening is a senior engineer. We’re looking for someone with experience with GraphQL, API architecture, and has an exceptional ability to communicate and work with front-end engineers, designers, product leads, and clients.

This is a 100% remote full time position. We prefer to hire people from Europe and Asia. For effective team collaboration, all of our current development team is in Asia or Europe and so it is unlikely (although not impossible) that we will hire in north or south america.

You will be working from home with mostly flexible hours although you will need to attend the team meeting which is at approximately 8:30am GMT and to work for 3 hours after this time. This is 3:30am to 6:30am New York time, so you can see that’s the reason we are not likely to hire in north, central or south america.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

You will be working in a team of around 10 other developers. You will be working on complex bugs, new features, and improvements for the software. The software is the desktop app of our time tracking software for remote teams.

You are going to get involved into builds for different OS environments, different branching models for version control, and strict coding standards.

TO BE A BEST FIT FOR THIS JOB YOU NEED TO BE / HAVE:

an expert in Javascript (and preferably ES6) and Node.js (5+ years). Expert means that you have solid knowledge of the language and the environment

solid experience in React.js (2+ years), building web based applications with a high level of abstraction

solid experience in code optimization and performance improvements

an expert in external API services – HTTP + REST

able to solve complex bugs quickly

know how to document your code

a good understanding of CSS and Sass

a good understanding of ReactJS+Redux implementations and Redux’s core

concepts

a good understanding of what’s different in building a desktop app vs. a pure web app

able to understand the importance of automated testing

experience with external REST / SOAP services

able to learn and work with technologies and services like Webpack, Babel, React,

Redux, ElectronJS and Node-gyp

experience with ElectronJS is a plus

experience with React Native . This is a plus.

[Note: we are open to remote work but only if you can spend a minimum of one day per week in our Belfast office.]

THE ROLE
You’ll be the person responsible for building the front-ends to Opal, a cloud platform to create and manage Structured Documents: documents represented as data, created and managed programatically.

You'll be using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS to make the user experience sing. We don’t want your typical ugly enterprise app: it has to be elegant, delightful to use, and enticing during a demo.

As well as a magnificent web front-end, you’ll be working with Microsoft’s Office 365 JS API & Office Fabric to build document editing services right into the Word app.

Our clients will generally be financial firms in the world’s leading financial centers, primarily New York City and London. You may need to travel occasionally, but not often.

We don’t care about prior experience in our industry (fintech); frankly we’d love it if you came from a design agency or other non-enterprise background. We want someone to build a wonderful user experience, and you can learn about the business domain while doing so.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll be doing some or all of the following:

* working with our product manager to refine the UI/UX requirements

* coding the front-end for the web and Office apps

* writing some basic test packs. We won’t go overboard but we aren’t flying by the seat of our pants, either

* in partnership with the CTO, the technical lead, and the rest of your team, defining and implementing standards for how we work: our agile methodology, coding standards, development tools, deployment practices, and more. This is a green field development and we want to use tomorrow’s best practices today.

WHO WE WANT
We are looking for a smart person with initiative and good judgment, who works well with others, and who will always look to balance the urgent needs of clients with the long-term technical architecture for our product.

You need to have:

* excellent verbal and written communication skills

* an eye for good design. You won’t be getting detailed wireframes, so your role will be at least partly that of a designer

* a minimum of three years’ experience using client-side web technologies with a solid knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, preferably gained from working at a design agency or product company

* experience with ReactJS and knowledge of Node JS and webpack, as well as a unit testing framework such as Jest

* prior experience working in agile

* a pragmatic, get-it-done approach to things developers often don’t like e.g. writing tests, updating documentation, and talking to clients

* a desire to learn new things. For example, we have a Ruby on Rails API, so there is an opportunity for someone who has good front end skills to become a full stack developer.

A degree in Comp Sci or equivalent is great, but it’s not essential. It’s most important that you have good coding & design skills.

Any of these things will help you stand out:

* opinions – preferably grounded in knowledge and experience

* experience on a team that has implemented a good continuous integration strategy (or if not, an awareness of the benefits of these strategies so you can champion them within the role)

* Office 365 JS API experience would be wonderful (we know it’s a bit niche)

* experience with Bootstrap or similar – we’ll be using Office Fabric, a similar library from Microsoft

* working with RESTful API back-end components

* development of a SaaS web product

* experience working within a distributed development model i.e. with people in other locations and time zones. We’ll mostly be Belfast-based, but we may use specialists in other places such as sales engineers in London and New York.

WHAT WE OFFER

Salary is dependent on your experience and skillset. As well as the basics - competitive pay and benefits – we offer work on a greenfield product, in a small startup-like team. We’ll invest so you have good tools to work with and we’ll keep your skills up-to-date with a budget for technical books, training, and the like.

Senior Software Engineer (React, Redux)

SlashData is the leading research company in the developer economy: We help the world understand developers and developers understand the world. We survey 40,000+ developers annually - across mobile, IoT, desktop, cloud AR/VR and machine learning - to help clients such as Microsoft, Facebook, Google and Amazon understand who developers are, what tools they love or hate and where they are going next.

We’re now looking for a full-time, senior software engineer to help drive data and visual insights out of millions of developer data points. The position is fulltime, either remote or based in our Athens office (if you happen to live near). We will consider locations within 2-3 hours of Central European Time or further for candidates willing to shift their working day to have significant overlap with the other team members in Europe. Depending on your location, you will be working from your home office, a co-working space as part of a distributed team or our Athens office.

Who we’re looking for

What skills we are looking for
5+ years of experience developing web applications with modern JavaScript (ES6) frameworks
Experience with React, Redux, webpack and related technologies
Familiarity with testing tools such as Mocha, Chai, Jest
Appreciation for good UX & UI design, ability to contribute to a design discussion
Backend web API development experience, preferably with some exposure to Node.js
Experience with AWS and other cloud providers
Experience with a language other than JavaScript, preferably one with static types
Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases

Bonus points for
Having built single-page web apps and server-side rendered apps
Experience with AWS Lambda or other “serverless” backend architecture
Experience with Python
Have worked with an intermediate data layer, that sits between multiple data sources and the front-end applications
Experience with data visualisation (e.g. using D3.js)
An appreciation for data and understanding of statistics

What you’ll be responsible for

Building a custom data dashboard web app (backend in Python and frontend in React) for displaying data to clients and developers. There are lots of dashboard tools in the world, but we have fairly rare data needs and an ambition to create world-class visualisations.
Iterating on our in-house survey tool (built on AWS Lambda, React and Redux) to reach developers everywhere in the world and provide a delightful UX.
Maintaining and enhancing our developer and client-facing websites. We’ve deployed ‘static-CMS’ sites using Gatsby, Contentful, Prismic and Netlify. Much of our stack is using Node.js.

If you’re that person, we’d love to talk.

Key success metrics

You will be successful in the role if in the first 6 months you have

Implemented a data dashboard MVP web app.
Shown ability to maintain and improve our existing codebase and your code is readable, testable, and understandable six months later.

Benefits
What we offer
Opportunity to make a difference as part of the research company that works with the biggest tech brands to help the world understand developers.
Competitive salary
Flexible working environment
Come to work in a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops, or tie and a suit
Annual training budget to develop your skills and career
Monthly book allowance from Amazon, on any book you like
Spotify Premium subscription or Netflix
Part of an entrepreneurial company that's raising the bar, and calling the trends of the developer economy

Description

We are a cutting edge team working with startups and big companies. We are helping create complex applications and web solutions. Those applications might be challenging, as they are the core of our customer’s business, but with our help anything is possible. We use JIRA and do sprints with Aurity team members and customers. You will work remotely from home, or place that suits you best. You will decide yourself when you want to start and finish your working day as long as you are on top of your job and participate in crucial meetings. Remote work will help you create better work-life balance, give more freedom and save time usually wasted on daily commute to work. We regularly talk and support each other via Skype, Zoom and other apps. Inside the company, we use Slack, Jira, Asana, and plenty of Google Tools.

Requirements
Working in Aurity is great if you like to keep on learning, using latest tools and technologies. Right now we focus on React, React Native, Relay, Redux and GraphQL. We are looking for keen to work, talented and professional developers seeking a new challenge with at least 6 months of experience in React to feel comfortable. Involvement in remote work is also very important, as this is different from a traditional job in the office. If you will have any difficulties we are always ready to help. Effective teamwork is an important aspect of our company.

Benefits
Of course, there are other attractions, like #hackerhouse that we arrange every 6-8 months. You can join the team there, have some fun and work (we make sure, the internet connection is very good). You will also have an opportunity to join internal workshops.
If you know something cool, that others might want to learn, you could also lead one of them. We are open for new projects and happy to help reach your goals.
Just check out our video from latest trip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw_zZ40gGUE

If you think we share similar values and mindset, you are most welcome to apply and become part of our team.

Leave us a message and become one of us. https://aurity.workable.com/j/4F689A50CA

### Overview

CollegeVine is looking for a product-focused front-end developer to help engineer the future of guidance, mentorship, and higher education attainment.

There aren't many industries left that haven't been significantly disrupted by technology in some way, but you're reading about one right here! Public high school guidance departments are under-resourced in our country and we think near-peer mentorship is the solution. As it stands, the current admissions process is a huge source of stress and confusion for students and parents alike. If we execute correctly, your work will impact the entire next generation of college graduates-to-be.

You will join a fast-moving company whose culture centers around authenticity, excellence, and balance. You'll find that everyone likes to keep things simple and transparent. We prefer to be goal-oriented and hands-off as long as you are a self-starter.

Our modern perspective on developer potential means we celebrate and optimize for real output. And that's probably the reason why we're a polyglot functional programming shop, with emphasis on Haskell, PureScript, and functional paradigms. Our infrastructure and non-mission-critical tooling tends to be in whatever works best for the task at hand: sometimes that's Haskell with advanced GHC extensions a-blazin', other times it's minimalist Ruby or bash—basically, it's a team decision based on whatever sits at the intersection of appropriateness, developer joy, quality, and velocity.

### Requirements

You know you are right for this position if:

* You have at least five years of professional software engineering experience, and at least two years of preference for a high-level programming language that's used in industry, like Haskell, Clojure, OCaml, Erlang, F#, or similar.
* You have front-end experience with JS or a functional language that compiles to JS, like PureScript, Elm, Clojurescript, or similar. We use PureScript, React, and ES6 on the front-end in a fairly seamless way. It's pretty awesome.
* You seek ownership beyond your own work, and look to the product and company as a whole.
* You are a self-starter and internally motivated, with a strong desire to be part of a successful team that shares your high standards.
* You have great written communication skills and are comfortable with making big decisions over digital presence (e.g. video chat).
* You have polyglot experience along several axes (dynamic/static, imperative/functional, lazy/strict, weird/not-weird).
* You are comfortable with modern infrastructure essentials like AWS, Heroku, Docker, CI, etc. You have basic but passable sysadmin skills.
* You are fluent with git.
* You instrument before you optimize. You test before you ship. You listen before you conclude. You measure before you cut. Twice.

### Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and a full suite of benefits, some of them unconventional, but awesome for the right person:

* Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
* Flexible hours with a 4-hour core - plan the rest of your workday as you wish, just give us the majority of your most creative hours. Productivity ideas: avoid traffic, never wait in line at the grocery store, wake up without an alarm clock.
* Goal-based environment (as opposed to grind-based or decree-based environment; work smarter, not harder; intelligently, not mindlessly). We collaborate on setting goals, but you set your own process for accomplishing those goals. You will be entrusted with a lot of responsibility and you might even experience fulfillment and self-actualization as a result.
* Join an engineering culture that celebrates mindfulness and takes the quality of your attention seriously.

Remember: We’re a startup. You’re an early employee. We face challenges. We have to ship. Your ideas matter. You will make a difference.

## Requirements

- You’re smart and can find a way to show us.
- A track record of 5+ years of working in, or leading, teams that rapidly ship high-quality web-based software that provides great value to users. Having done this at a startup a plus.
- Awe-inspiring at JavaScript, know your way around React, feel right at home building SPAs, you're a master of whipping AJAX and DOM into submission
- You have a strong understanding and passion for building large scale frontend applications that delight users and enable them to get their jobs done
- You have had to work with gradual typing type systems such as TypeScript and FlowType
- You have been exposed to the basics of functional programming
- You've used LESS/SCSS, understand media queries and breakpoints, and can explain why and how you'd use a grid system.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and people skills
- Organized and meticulous, but still able to focus on the big picture of the product
- A ton of startup hustle: We're a fast-growing, VC-backed, Silicon Valley tech company that works hard to achieve the greatest impact we can.

- Medical, dental, vision
- Incredible opportunity to grow, learn and build lifetime bonds with other passionate people who share your values
- Food, catered lunch & dinner 4 days a week + snacks on snacks

### Who we are

Boords is a bootstrapped, self-funded SaaS company on a mission to make storyboarding simple. We've been running for just under 2 years and in that time have gone from an idea on the back of a napkin to a profitable, fast growing company. Boords is a web-based storyboarding tool, which makes it easy to add, remove, reorder and replace content to make the perfect storyboard quickly and easily. We’ve been keeping storyboarding simple since 2015.

We’re a small team who share an office in Old Street with our sister company Animade (award winning animation studio), so you’ll be working with a tight-knit group and have the opportunity to make a real impact.

### What's the job?

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer with experience using ReactJS and Rails to help us take Boords to the next level. We place emphasis on high quality code, great design and a great company culture. From a technical perspective, Boords is a Rails application with a ReactJS frontend, and a couple of Golang microservices thrown in for good measure.

Both of our founders are from a design & technical background, and we're fully committed to making something great over the long term.

### Requirements

Initially we are looking for someone to join us on a 3-month contract, with a view to extending to full time if we find the right fit. You should have solid experience working on production applications using ReactJS and Rails, and believe in writing well formatted, testable code.

Being a remote role, great written and verbal communication skills are particularly important. Initiative, self-motivation and good time management skills are also a must.

### Benefits

We understand that developers are in high demand - there's a lot of jobs out there for people who can write great code. However a lot of those jobs are at larger companies where you'll spend your time sitting in meetings, working on archaic code or otherwise not getting your ideas heard. We believe working at Boords offers the opportunity to make a real impact on a growing product in within a great company culture.

Working with use, you can expect:

- Great work/life balance
- Pension scheme
- Profit share scheme
- All you can drink Nespresso
- Foosball table
- Team away days and trips. Last year we hired a villa in Tuscany!
- Monthly team building activities organised by our ‘culture captains’
- Incredible team spirit
- Boords hoodie 🙂

Salary will depend on experience. If you want to work in a small, passionate team pushing code into production several times a week, get in touch.

# Our Product
We are building an address book for the 21st century. Digital address books are broken. Just like old paper versions, in 2017 everyone still manages their own contact list. When friends change their numbers, you have to update them on your phone. When you change your phone number you have to manually tell everyone. If you are travelling and have a temporary SIM card you may be uncontactable. If you're like us, you have lots of numbers in your address book and can't remember exactly who they belong to. You have no idea who has your contact information.

# About Us
We are a stealth mode startup working on solving these problems. Our aim is to launch our first product in the summer of 2017. We are funded by a successful serial entrepreneur. We are working remotely with team members based in Cambridge, UK and Berlin, Germany.

# The Role
You will join our team as our first mobile developer. You will be working collaboratively with the rest of our team to build and launch the first version of our product. We want you to be involved throughout the product design process - not just implementing work for finished designs!

This is a remote role, and you will need to be available during European working hours. There may be some occasional travel to London. Initially this role is a contract/freelance position, with the possibility of becoming full time later this year. We are open to candidates who can work between 4 and 5 days per week.

# What We're Looking For
* Several years of experience with iOS development, in either Objective-C or Swift, or alternatively React Native
* Experience with prototyping and taking a product from the idea stage through to launch and beyond
* Experience working with agile methodologies and collaborating with a software development team to release regularly and iterate on your designs
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions or requirements to non-technical colleagues
* Tenacity and the willingness to change your design based on learnings from real users

Quiver is a young, hungry company that is aiming to disrupt the instant messaging space in a big way. We're 100% remote and are looking to add a solid engineer that wants to take the reins on our existing iOS swift3 app while helping to design and build our next gen mobile technology in React Native.

We hope to make big contributions to the open source community, so a demonstrated track record of OS contributions would be excellent.

Also, while this is a front-end focused role, the back end will largely feature Rust, so experience with that will be a big plus.

What you'll need:
* 3+ years of software engineering experience in some combination of JavaScript and Swift
* Solid experience on iOS
* Experience with React (native or web)
* A knack for creating wonderful, nuanced user experience.

HigherEducation.com partners with many of the most recognizable names in the online education industry to help them build their programs and expand student bases with our 75M annual site visitors. We also love to use cutting edge technologies to make developer life enjoyable and more productive.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on hybrid role of JavaScript Engineer and data scientist to join a major initiative at a critical point in our company’s growth. The ideal candidate (which means you, right?) will be responsible for debugging existing code bases and innovating new solutions through data science research. Other duties include enhancing & maintaining the core product, creating & maintaining the tests for various code repositories,

The position requires:
- Possess a rock-solid background in Computer Science (minimum BS in Comp Sci or related field) or at least 5 years of development experience in a challenging, fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in one or more of the following fields: Natural Language -
Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Recommendation Systems.
- Server-side JavaScript (e.g. Node.js - Express, Koa, Hapi).
- Client-side JavaScript (e.g. React, MobX, Redux).
- Build tools (e.g. Gulp, Grunt, Browserify, Webpack).
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms a plus.

Desired qualifications include experience with:
- Advanced degree is a plus but you're not just an academic -- you have hands-on software engineering experience applying complex algorithms to real-world problems at scale.
- Work effectively in agile teams; get stuff done with minimal guidance and zero BS, help others and know when to ask for help. Clearly communicate complex technical and product issues to non-technical team members, clients, etc.
- Bonus points for experience implementing machine learning algos on GPU's or other hardware acceleration!

What it's like

Last year, we had a blast. We personally enjoy getting rid of legacy code & turning servers off in favor of clean, new, tested services.

Each project is fairly small in scope with a large amount of flexibility and freedom to discuss & find the best architecture for the job and for the team. Usually, a single person heads up a project, collaborates with another for architecture & solutions, and eagerly looks forward to launching (rather than endlessly polishing).

- Slack for conversations.
- Asana for project tracking & deliverables.
- Github for code collaboration.
- DroneCI for CI & CD.

Being in a USA timezone is highly desirable.

For example...

In 2016 we...

- Built and deployed a central platform for managing monetization across our portfolio.
- Broke up an old monolith into smaller Docker services running on Rancher and got a solid, always-deploying CI/CD pipeline.
- Established a lightweight Agile process to aid developer efficiency from initiative to initiative.
- Worked with in house teams to conduct research in the frame of Recommendation Systems with a working prototype.

In 2017 we're...

- Building applications to expand the business into areas of organic growth.
- Refactoring and simplifying our micro-services ecosystem.
- Doubling down in a robust product recommendation approach to better serve our users.

Human Environment

- Centrally located in downtown Houston, free employee parking.
- Coed work environment, casual dress code.
- Cool office perks (e.g. sodas & coffee, happy hours, etc.).
- Generous salary considerations & full benefits.
- 6% 401k matching
- 100% health / vision / dental for you & subsidies for the rest of your family
- 15 vacation & sick days / yr.
- Gym membership reimbursement up to $100/mo

What We Value

We love to work as a team but office hours are flexible. Producing is more important than meeting a 9 to 5 schedule. We understand there are moments when you need to isolate yourself to concentrate so working from home is permitted and encouraged.

We like to have a good time and minimize stress with good in-office coffee, ping pong, lounge/reading time and regular happy hours. We work hard and meet realistic deadlines. What good is delivering a poor product early?

We also understand that family is important, so time-shifting (and sometimes day-shifting) is necessary to deliver for both the team & your family.

We're looking for a React Native dev to polish off a 30% done project getting our SaaS platform's (React Native) iOS and Android apps shipped.

Some of the groundwork is done for you already, but nothing to horrible and legacy to have to deal with, and we move very quickly.

Experience with image transformation and B2B SaaS would be fantastic, along with obviously experience with React Native and likely a bit of native iOS/Android work.

Bonus points if you have knowledge in AngularJS, as that's what the web frontend is built in, so it will help a bit with translation, but that's not a need-to-have.

We're looking for somebody to work for probably around 2 months, give or take a bit. It's mostly getting 'v1' shipped out to customers, and some of the early work with direct customer feedback. It may become a long-term thing, but no guarantee (or obligation!) that things will continue - I'm happy to be upfront and of course keep you in the loop, no surprises. Would be a great project for someone with a bit of a gap in their schedule who is willing to help out a profitable B2B SaaS company.

We're a small company with team members remotely around the world, helping companies worldwide (from your local café to global brands) schedule their content to Instagram. We're pretty ambitious, so come on board!

Breadwallet is looking for an experienced software engineer to work with us to build out the future of money. We’re the leading mobile Bitcoin wallet, and need a few more hands to help us achieve our vision: to be the onramp to Bitcoin.

Our team is a group of Bitcoin enthusiasts. We’re geographically distributed across the US and Canada, with a central office in San Francisco, CA. You’ll be working directly with me, @Samuel Sutch, to build out features that allow our users to purchase and sell bitcoin directly within the app. We believe this is the next most important step for breadwallet to truly achieve our vision of being the onramp for bitcoin.

The most important skillset for this job is React/Redux. Candidates must have a firm understanding of how React/Redux apps are built and must have worked on them in the past. We have a lightweight HTML5 runtime that is hosted inside our native wallet software. This provides an environment for us to develop quickly, while sandboxing the development from the underlying sensitive financial software.

Our HTML5 team is young, and so far it’s just been me with occasional help from some contractors. You’ll get the opportunity to shape how our HTML5 team evolves into the future.

Experience with iOS/Swift and Android/Java is definitely a bonus, but myself and our Android developer will assist there whenever necessary. Everyone at breadwallet is a polyglot and you are definitely encouraged to try, and learn, new things!

Here are some bullet points:

* Full benefits package
* Work remotely
* New hardware when you need it
* Travel to SF once a year for our team on-site
* Unlimited vacation

StackShare helps developers discover and compare software tools. We’re building a platform for developer knowledge. From Airbnb to Dropbox, to individual developers and CTOs, StackShare has become the defacto place for companies and engineers to share the software they use and why. But we're just scratching the surface- we believe we have an opportunity to fundamentally change the way that software is built.

As Software Engineer, you will influence every aspect of the product from ideation to execution. Not only will you help shape the product moving forward, but you'll be joining a small founding team so you’ll help to shape the company.

You have experience building web applications with at least one year of experience using Ruby in a production environment. You have experience building APIs (and consuming them). You hate bureaucracies and want to work at an early stage company that has few processes. You’re comfortable taking the initiative and building things in a way that makes sense to you.

You’re comfortable working on something different every day as priorities shift. You enjoy shipping code and you believe new features should be treated as experiments and measured closely. You build with the following in mind: make it work ➤ make it right ➤ make it fast.

Bonus Points:

- You’re a StackShare user (include your profile URL in your application).
- You’re familiar with most of the tools in our stack (http://stackshare.io/stackshare).
- You’re a tools geek; you sign up for new tools and services just to kick the tires and satisfy your curiosity.

**About Us**

We’re a small, fully-remote team focused on building great products for the commercial real estate industry. Our SaaS platform is used in over 40 markets (across the US and Canada) and helps people find office space, sell apartment buildings, lease warehouse space, etc. Our wild start-up days are behind us – we're all grown up and profitable now with a 15-year track record and users who love us. We launched a new product last year that's driving a lot of growth, and we could really use some help.

- Our team is mainly full-stack developers: JavaScript (ReactJS/Redux) on the front-end and Java on the back-end.
- We use a microservices architecture, practice continuous integration, and host everything from AWS.
- We're not dogmatic about our tools/technologies – we use whatever best suits the task at hand.
- We communicate mainly via GitLab and Slack, but get everybody together for face-to-face time at least twice a year.

**About You**

- You're an expert with JavaScript, loving the good parts and understanding the bad.
- You have a good amount of experience with ReactJS, and have (at least) built something non-trivial with it.
- You have some significant experience building web applications and RESTful APIs.
- You've dabbled enough with (or read enough about) microservices to understand some of the pitfalls.
- You're comfortable with a command line.
- You're a quick study, stay up with the latest-and-greatest ideas and processes, and consciously work to become a better developer every day.
- You understand that working as part of a small team means wearing lots of different hats.
- You believe in the mantra: "strong opinions, weakly held".
- You value stability, work/life balance, group decision-making, and working with people that are good-natured, open-minded, interesting, hard-working, and self-motivated.

**Catylist is for you if...**

- You're a human (of any variety, color, shape, size, etc) -- no bots please!
- You hate the corporate bureaucracy of a big company.
- You're over the chaos and uncertainty of a start-up. You like having reasonable hours and knowing that your job will be around next week.
- You enjoy maintaining and improving the products you've built rather than handing them off and moving on to the next thing.
- You know what you love to do and aren't looking for a ladder to climb.

(This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, remote, W2 position with benefits including health, dental, vision, 401k, professional development, etc)

WHAT'S UP, WORLD?! My names Acuity, but my friends call me Cutie. Im an online scheduling tech company from New York City, and Im 10 years old. But thats, like, 25 in software company years.

Hobbies include: craft beer, using finger guns in a completely non-ironic fashion, adult coloring books (dont act like you dont have one), and helping businesses of all sizes manage their busy schedules. Pretty niche, I know.
Why managing schedules?" you ask? Well, I like to help people. I guess you could say I take after my dad that way. His names Gavin and he built me from scratch 10 years ago! Can you believe it?A whole decade!

And that brings me to what Im doing all this for...
See, my full name is Acuity Schedulingand no, its not one of those weird celeb baby names or anything. Im a tech company. And right now, Im looking for my ride-or-die, go-to, right-hand frontend JavaScript/React developer.
Im going to describe a human, and if it sounds like you might be the human Im describing, you should contact me. And you should probably attach your résumé.

Benefits

And by the way? These other qualities would probably help bucketsfull:
* Youre in favor of having 100% of your medical, dental, and vision premiums covered.
* 401K is your middle name. (Or if you just really like the idea of having 3% of your salary contributed to one.)
* Youre an autodidact. Go on. Look it up. (Youll get a $5,000 credit toward continuing your education.)
* Excited about working remotely

If this description sounds like you, theres a chance that Id like to offer you $90k-120k per year salary. Straight up cash money. I mean, itd be in exchange for your professional services each year, but still.
Write me. Or, you know, fill out the application that my dad, Gavin, will review personally. You can count on it. Which is nice because they tell me that good men are hard to find these days.
Sincerely yours,
Cutie AKA Acuity Scheduling

We are building a new team and a new product at Dealer Inspire! Management of automotive inventory is a core piece of functionality for our customer’s websites and the various products that we develop, and because we are just getting started you can have a big impact on the technologies that we use. Essential Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

* Assist with debugging / development of bug fixes - day-to-day maintenance

* Experience with performance debugging and benchmarking

* Git version control

* Experience with testing frameworks like karma, mocha, or jest

* Strong attention to design detail. Matching markup/layout with mockups, and making them better. Knowing when things are off (even by a couple pixels) - and knowing why that impacts the experience negatively.

* Strong communication skills.

Highly Desired:

* Experience working remotely

* Familiar with functional programming

* Performance debugging and benchmarking

* High sensibility to UI design and UX

Compensation:

$80,000 - $110,000 per year based upon skill and previous experience. Motivated and talented individuals may advance quickly in our fast growing company.

We make the world's most powerful ergonomic keyboard, the ErgoDox EZ. You will be helping us vastly improve our [configurator](https://configure.ergodox-ez.com), a Rails 5/React 16 app.
You will be introducing sane state management, re-architecting the data models, upping test coverage, as well as introducing some great new features once all of this tech debt has been dealt with. You're not a rockstar, nor a ninja. Hopefully you're simply a nice human being who wants to make solid software together.

We're a tiny company. You'd be working with me (Erez Zukerman, the CEO, who's also a Rails/React dev). We'd be using simple, low-ceremony tools like Trello, daily standups, and some lightweight scrum (nothing crazy).

As part of the job, you will of course be getting one of our keyboards, fully specced out to your liking. Actually, bonus points if you already happen to have one. ;)

So the laundry list:

- A mastery of React
- Great frontend skills (CSSNext FTW)
- Jest is our testing framework of choice
- Bonus points if you know some Capybara
- A liking of MobX (I do prefer it over Redux and have experience in both)
- A liking of Rails (you don't have to be a Rails rockstar though)
- Pay: $60k/yr initially, then we can ramp up based on performance and reach $90-100k.

I've been working remotely for 17 years now, so I get the culture. This is not about the hours -- it's about producing some great work together and making a sizable dent in the universe of mechanical keyboards.

How do you apply?

Don't send me a boring CV, please. Send me a great email answering the following:

- What are the first three features you'd add to the configurator, and why
- Why do you prefer mobX over Redux (or, why am I wrong to prefer it)
- What is the thing you like _least_ about agile?
- Some examples of your work

Not all emails will get a reply -- my apologies in advance for that. On the plus side, I (Erez) will personally be reading your email, not some recruiter or an AI bot trying to filter you out. :)

Apply Now!: http://estately.applytojob.com/apply/QcBOcuEWjQ/Senior-Ruby-Full-Stack-Developer?source=RemoteOk

Estately makes it easier to find and buy a home online and we need your help.

What you'll do:

You'll collaborate to build, maintain, and streamline our large application, working with Ruby, Rails, Postgres and more. Some examples of the work you'll be doing include the following:

* Continually improving our fetching code, which grabs data on millions of properties throughout each day
* Integrating against a REST API to give our customers even more info about a house
* Making our website a more delightful experience
* Working closely with product and design to define and implement a new feature

You'll have both the opportunity and the independence to tackle all kinds of challenges: some days you'll work on refactoring a legacy part of the app to make it do something new, and on others, you'll build a brand new, greenfield feature.

You

You care about both building and maintaining a clean, readable, well tested codebase. We work extensively with Ruby, Rails, Postgres, React, and SCSS. You should be experienced in most of these technologies, and eager to learn new ones. You communicate well and collaborate with the whole team, be it to work through tough code problems or clarify product specifications.

About Us:

* We're a small team focused on opening up the old school real estate world.
* Our goal is to build the best place for people to browse, shop for, and buy homes.
* We employ an iterative approach to building products and deploy multiple times a day.
* We have a big vision.
* We believe in hiring smart people and giving them the support and flexibility to succeed.
* If you work locally, you'll be in a relaxed and fun office in the Belltown neighborhood.

We're looking to hire the best people wherever they are in the world. If you don't want to relocate to beautiful Seattle, you should be awesome at working from home and available to join our daily stand-up at 9:30am Pacific Time. Some developers live in Seattle and come into the Estately office, while others live and work remotely, including from outside of the United States. We've had remote developers since 2011, and are seasoned veterans of working with a distributed team, across multiple time zones.

Our Hiring Process

We believe in collaborative interviews where we work with you to solve realistic problems. We interview for practical skills in a one-on-one setting, and strive to use your preferred editor and tools whenever possible. Great candidates don't usually write code on white boards, or implement basic data structures from scratch, so we won't ask you to do that. We want our recruiting process to be transparent to you. It roughly consists of the following steps:

An initial call between you and a member of our team

We'll tell you more about the work that you'd be doing, and why we think Estately is a great place to work. You'll have the opportunity to ask us lots of questions, too. We'll ask you about your experience and some technical questions, mostly to get a feel for where you're at as we move forward with the process.

Individual Exercise

We have a few practical challenges to assess technical knowledge. Over the course of a few hours, you'll be fixing a bug in our app (that we've previously fixed), so we can see how you approach solving a realistic problem.

Pairing on a Few Potential Features

During the pairing exercises you'll pair with one of our developers to implement an (existing) feature in the app. This will take a couple hours or so, and will mostly consist of discussion about approach, with some coding in the midst of it.

Discussion with representatives from our Product and Design teams

As a small team, all of our developers work very closely with product and design. These short sessions will give you a chance to meet and speak with the product and design folks that you would be working with on a regular basis.

Diversity

Estately seeks to increase the ratio of women and underrepresented minorities in software engineering and development, we encourage women and people from underrepresented groups to apply for this position.

Estately is striving to be a diverse team, made of and built by people with different backgrounds and lifestyles. We don't discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, age, religion, color, or any other group.

From importing data, to modeling, to crunching the numbers and displaying them we employ the best solutions available and iterate rapidly. Today, **we are powered by Scala (Play Framework, Akka Streams), Javascript (React), PostgreSQL, and Docker**. Tomorrow... who knows? We will need your help to decide the best tools to use as we continue to grow and scale.

* Passion for creating memorable experiences for customers
* Insatiable curiosity: always willing to learn and face new challenges
* Interest in technologies such as Scala/Play/Akka/Spark, React.js, and Node.js
* Ready to take responsibility for substantial projects and work independently
