The Opportunity
At IWT, we take pride in creating some of the best online programs in the world, from Zero to Launch, to Find Your Dream Job, to Earn1K, and many more. And we’re just getting started. As a Product Developer, you will take ideas and transform them into finished products that make a huge impact on thousands of students around the world. You’ll be working with a world-class product development team and will learn more about human psychology in 3 months than you have in your entire career. We’ll teach you proprietary product development techniques that you won’t learn anywhere else. Most importantly, you’ll see first hand how your work helps thousands of people live better, richer lives.

You will own the entire product development lifecycle, from initial research, to content creation, to user experience and seeing it through to product launch. Some of your day to day work will include the following:
Product Ideas
You will collaborate with your product development peers and brainstorm big product ideas to pursue. You’ll be an integral part in deciding which ideas have the potential to impact thousands of students.

Research
You’ll not only be performing market and competitive research, you’ll also talk to our students and learn how we dig deep to discover their deepest hopes, fears and dreams.

Scoping & Positioning
Working closely with the team, you’ll develop a product vision, define what our product is/is not, and work with designers and marketers to create the product name & logo.

Content Creation
Each product will bear the mark of your creativity and dedication. You’ll own the creation of the program including developing course outline, video scripts, presentations, case studies and customer emails that are read by hundreds of thousands of students.

Product Improvement
We are constantly updating our material to make sure we only deliver the best to our students. You will analyze customer feedback and make corresponding product improvement recommendations.

What We're Looking For
Product Development Experience

  • You are an exceptional copywriter. When it comes to copywriting, you’re second to none. You have a proven track record of taking on the appropriate voice and style to write compelling content, scripts and pitch copy. You understand that this is a very writing-intensive role and you are thrilled about it.
  • You have prior and relevant product development experience and know what it takes to bring a product from concept to market. You’re no noob to the product development lifecycle. You LOVE digging deep and are passionate about researching your customers. You have an impressive portfolio demonstrating your expertise, understanding of your customers, and products you’ve brought to life.
  • You have deep experience, interest and knowledge of IWT material. Preference will be given to those who have signed up for several IWT courses and know them inside and out.
Empathetic, Detail-Oriented and Passionate

  • You are highly empathetic. You understand people inside out and know how to get inside a customer’s head.
  • You are obsessed with getting it right. You’re known as the perfectionist and are willing to try something 100 different ways just to get it right.
  • You are a great teacher and communicator. Not only are you a master at breaking down complex topics into simple concepts, and communicate them in a way that beginners can understand, but you also do it in a way that’s 100X more valuable than what’s already out there.
  • You are passionate about online business. You may even have direct experience in online sales and conversion optimization (huge plus!).
This is a full-time, 100% remote position.
If you’re excited about this, we’d love to talk to you. Use the “Apply Now” button below to get in touch with us.

  • You can develop features without hand-holding in both JavaScript, and iOS or Android
  • Clear, effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, or React Native
  • Proficiency in GitHub flow
  • Design skills, or at least a strong design sense
  • Experience with pair programming (remote or in-person)
  • Open source contributions, side projects and gems

    Why we love it here

  • Work with a team that inspires and challenges each other to grow
  • Great health benefits: we’ve got you covered with health and dental - we pay 100% of your premiums and 50% for dependents
  • Competitive salary and stock options
  • 15 days paid time off plus company paid holidays
  • Remote and on-site: work with us in Durham, NC in our American Underground office, or remotely

    Next steps

Please fill out the form below and include:

  • A quick writeup of who you are as a developer - how you got started, area of the stack you’re most familiar with, what you want to learn next, and what motivates you
  • An overview of your work history (resume, LinkedIn, or prose)

Feel free to add anything else that conveys your interests and abilities -- applications built, open source projects worked on, blog posts written, etc. GitHub, Stack Overflow, and other profiles welcome.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

At Saavn, we're obsessed with building beautiful music products — for the whole world really, but India-focused. We'll save the backstory for our first date, but don't let the India part fool you... we're very well-funded (by Tiger Global, Bertelsman, Steadview, and others), have over 18 million monthly active users and growing, NYC and SF based (along with offices in India of course), and most importantly, a really fun and talented crew who know how to get down (to work and play). Okay, obnoxious startup spiel over!

What do we want? An awesome front-end dev who can help bring our Product and Design team's ideas to life. You are the Liam Neeson of our front-end team. Someone who possesses a special set of skills, obsesses over UX, speed and load times, slick animations, and great performance (code cleanliness and some fancy formatting wouldn't hurt too). You'll help build core products, marketing products, visualize huge amounts of data in cool and interesting ways, wrestle with challenging layouts and emails, and write (or rewrite) production code across platforms... so we need someone who is fluent in all the usual suspects: Javascript (vanilla and libraries like jQuery, Angular, etc), all types of HTML/CSS, support and bug fixing across browsers, optimizing for mobile, etc.

Any expertise with other scripting languages is preferred (PHP in particular, but anything is welcome), and if you have any iOS or Android chops (or are eager to learn), even better!

The Role:

  • Work right in the sweet spot between product, design, and engineering to create beautiful, simple interfaces that people love to use
  • Help designers wrangle their designs and ideas into efficient, working products
  • Have an opinion, produce consistently great work, champion simplicity, and obsess over clean, performant, and maintainable code

Required Skills:

  • Multiple years (at least 3+) of professional development experience
  • Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS (all kinds)
  • Expert knowledge of Javascript (old school vanilla as well as newfangled libraries)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (This isn't a throwaway line... you need to be able to communicate with the design team, engineers, and laypeople alike, and articulate/defend yourself and your approach.)
  • Obsession with user experience, pixel perfection, motion, animation, and good code

Bonus if you are an expert at one (or more) of these:

  • iOS (Objective-C, Swift) or Android (Java, XML) native development
  • Data visualization design, D3 implementations (or similar)
  • Animation

We like people who:

  • Are passionate about building amazing products, whatever it takes
  • Love learning new technologies and styles
  • Enjoy a nice drink, a great meal, an amazing concert, or anything else that makes us human outside of work
  • Love music (playing, listening, or in any form really)

Where should you be? It is strongly preferred that you work out of our NYC offices (relocation assistance is available for the right candidates). However, if you think you’re that good and we might break our rules for you, remote hires who are willing to travel a bit and work out of our NYC or Mountain View, CA offices periodically will be considered too.

We’re looking for a developer who wants to build software that transforms the way public radio delivers its core asset - audio.

Some of the biggest names in public radio - NPR, KPCC, WNYC, and WHYY - are partnering to build a system that simplifies the workflow and delivery of on-demand and podcast audio. Our goal is to create the platform that many public radio stations use to power their digital audio operations. If you love podcasts and public radio, this is a unique opportunity to have an impact on the future of the industry.

As an audio-focused Applications Developer on this project, you'll be responsible for building the core systems and services around on-demand audio upload, management and delivery. You will work as a part of KPCC's small, dedicated product team. Our mission is to build durable platforms for publishing journalism, give audiences new ways to interact with audio (both streaming and podcasting), and help public radio build new digital revenue models.

We do a lot of cool stuff with audio tech, and you’ll take ownership of the audio management parts of our codebase. Most of our software is built on Rails, Node.js, and the Elastic stack.

## How we work

At KPCC, developers work alongside designers and product managers as part of a unified team, and there's shared ownership over the direction of our products . We are strong believers in tests and continuous integration. All of our code is hosted on Github, and your work on this project will be open sourced for the benefit of the public radio and podcast ecosystem.

We use Slack to stay connected to each other, our code and our systems. We build iteratively and ship often, but also strongly value software quality. We’re a hardworking team who sets ambitious goals.

## Why KPCC

KPCC is trying to redefine how public service journalism can serve a diverse metropolis. KPCC is part of Southern California Public Radio, a member-supported public media organization. We reach more than 700,000 listeners every week, and over 1 million people with our digital products. We've partnered with NPR, WNYC and WHYY on a two-year project to apply our collective knowledge around digital audio to build tools that will benefit the entire public radio system.

You’ll come in every day and work on meaningful challenges and interesting apps with a crew of smart, friendly, creative people. You’ll get to work in a small, fast-moving team that has a big impact on the future of public radio. You can come to work at the Mohn Broadcast Center, our beautiful office in the heart of sunny Pasadena, but we're also remote-friendly. We offer competitive benefits and salary, a true life/work balance, and support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Álo (www.meetalo.com) is a small Marketing agency that uses content and technology to drive growth for clients. We need a developer who can build a Web application in .NET MVC on a 10 week full-time contract.

The application is an innovative content experience that delivers a personalized feed of video and other content based on the profile of the user. It also tracks the progress of users against their "assigned" content and allows Administrators to track engagement at several different levels. The goal of the platform is to transform a process and experience that has historically been delivered offline-- and has suffered because of it.

The product strategy is defined, requirements are set, estimates complete, and the blueprints (wireframes) have been approved. We're starting the design soon, which will be followed by the development of a prototype. When you get your hands on the platform you'll have a clickable prototype and a kit of parts to define any design elements. We expect there to be some front-end work to be done, but we need someone to do the heavy lifting on the back-end--from setting up the server to writing the custom .NET code to working with APIs for video platforms and other third party systems.

It should be a really interesting project and we do our best to make this a great place to work. You'd be welcomed as part of our team.

Job Requirements
- Proven experience building enterprise-ready .NET MVC applications for the Web
- Ability to work with new and familiar APIs
- High level of competency with  SQL Server
- Experience building Web apps that are responsive (desktop, laptop, and phone)
- Knowledge of and experience with modern development protocols and tools
- Ability to set up and manage a GIT environment
- An obsession with clean and semantic code
- Experience with one or more JS frameworks, and the ability to write custom Javascript (if necessary)
- An appreciation for design and user experience
- Good communication skills (in English) and the ability to work well on a team

We would strongly prefer someone from the Atlanta area who could work from the office a couple times a week. But if we can't find the right person locally, we are willing to collaborate on a fully remote basis.

The project is scheduled to start in mid-February or early March, but if you are able to build the prototype from designs we could start as soon as the first week in February. We will likely need some support after the product is launched, and may seek to extend the contract if we secure a contract for a second phase.

If you are interested, please  make sure to include a resume (or LinkedIn profile), examples of your work, rate (per week), and availability between February and April. Please make sure to include specifics about what YOU did on each project in your portfolio.

Once a Month Meals (OAMM) is a Web-based product and community with the goal of empowering wellness through meal planning and freezer cooking.
OAMM believes that your work, time and hobbies shouldn’t come at the cost of family and health. Gathering around the dinner table, eating with those you care about and enjoying a nutritious meal is paramount to our mission. Therefore, we create software to further empower individuals to bring back family dinner time without sacrificing the little spare time they have available—giving our users time for what matters most.

OAMM began as a mom blog in 2009 with a deep, rich, invested community. Over the last several years it has emerged as a SaaS product fueled by the passions and membership fees of the community. The technology side of our product is exciting and challenging to build but unlike many other SaaS products, it isn’t the technology that drives the product. The driving force is our community. We believe strongly that these two things, technology and community, have to be in balance and we are looking for a web developer that can respect, appreciate and aspire to help us grow both. # Can You Do Everything?

Then we want you.

Get an idea of what we're doing at: [https://www.beachyapp.com](https://www.beachyapp.com)

### Where We're At

We're a startup that recently closed pre-series funding. We're young, but our
product and processes are surprisingly mature.

The product consists of an ionic app (AngularJS, ECMAScript 6), ruby API (Grape,
No Rails, ActiveRecord, Sidekiq, Stripe, Sendgrid) and postgres db (postgis)
on AWS (Capistrano for deployments).

The process consists of Github for pull requests and code reviews, Jira for
issue tracking and task/feature management, circleci for continuous integration,
codeclimate & rubocop for static code analysis, rspec & karma/protractor for
unit/e2e testing.

We're very early and this means we shift focus at a breakneck pace. Despite this,
however, we will not sacrifice best practices nor carry unreasonable expectations.

### Can You Work With All of This and More?

Then we want you.

We're looking for someone ready to take this product by the
horns and drive it where it needs to go. We've got big launch dates coming and
the start of the next season looms.

If you're a generalist with experience ranging from the top of the stack to the
bottom, send a message telling us why we'd be stupid to pass up an opportunity
to turn you loose in ours.

(also include your availability & rate, please)

What is Hudl?

Hudl is a software company that makes sports video analysis tools for coaches and athletes. Teams upload their game film to our site, study it, and "break it down" by adding text notes, ink telestrations, and tagged metadata. Coaches then share the edited segments of video with groups of players on their team. Athletes can consume the annotated video on their iOS and Android devices throughout the week in preparation for their next game. If an athlete notices a great play, he or she can highlight it to appear on a public profile for fans, parents, and recruiters to see.

What do Front-end Designers do at Hudl?

We have a perfect place carved out for those people who live in a world between pure design and pure development. Front-end Designers are responsibile for writing quality front-end code and keeping the visual bar high in our apps. They're constantly challenging us to keep our code and styles consistent using our internal UI pattern library. They begin by assisting the user research process with coaches of all sports to understand latent needs beyond just the basics of what they say they want. It's important for our entire team to see and hear or themselves the problems facing our users. There’s no requirements doc handed down from on high. Next, they rough out concepts to test with other designers, developers, QA, and their project manager. They sketch, they mock, and they prototype the key interactions. And often, they throw big pieces out when it doesn't click in a user study. Once the concepts do start clicking, Front-end Designers team up with a visual and/or interaction designer to that everything looks great and feels even better.

But, designers don’t stop after the first release. They work closely with PM’s as we roll-out improvements so that we can refine it as the product gets real-world use. We can selectively enable new features to small groups of coaches and athletes to validate that we’re on the right track. Practically, all this means you carry the squad with elegant front-end code and purposeful visual design. Those are the non-negotiable requirements. We also expect that you:

We’re looking for a full-time designer to join the Wildbit team. You should be able to do a full cycle, from gathering requirements to prototyping UI to designing and then implementing it with HTML, CSS and JS. This position requires great UI and graphic design skills, impeccable attention to detail, and an understanding of interaction design and usability best practices. You will be working on three fast growing, profitable web services: BeanstalkPostmarkDeployBot.

HTML5 and CSS should be your natural way to communicate ideas, from building quick prototypes to providing bullet-proof code for production. We follow BEM for writing our CSS and you need at least some experience with it, SMACSS, or any other modular methodology appropriate for large apps. Right now we write our CSS in Sassand build it with Grunt. Solid and maintainable JavaScript (not just jQuery) is required. You need to have a good development workflow, use Git, be comfortable with command line and deploying code to production.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help launch and grow a set of meaningful products that make a difference to people’s lives; loves working in the rapidly evolving world of technology, and; would like to work with a dynamic team of passionate people at the intersection of publishing and technology.

This role will be supported by a world-class team of product managers, developers and engineers—as well as other design specialists—with whom you will be expected to collaborate extensively, and who will push you to achieve your very best.

Responsibilities

  • Work to support product managers and other designers to help ideate features, user flows, visual designs, wireframes and prototypes
  • Assist with brainstorming, sketching, and wireframing web and mobile user experience design solutions
  • Work closely with project managers to propagate efficient and successful workflow management, best practices, and continually improving processes as relate to design work and deliverables

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent qualification, or experience), preferably in Communications Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or other related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 1+ years experience creating visual assets and wireframes that effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Experience working remotely, with a distributed team

Working at Safari means playing a key role in our rapidly-growing, highly-distributed team. Everyone is encouraged to be autonomous but highly communicative—we rely on Hangouts, HipChat, JIRA, GitHub, animated gifs and Google Apps much more than email and phone.

We expect our team to build the products they want to use and to use those products for the same reasons that our users do: to be remarkable at their jobs. We strive to operate in public, with a strong encouragement for our team to blog and tweet often and to talk at public events about the work they do.

This position is open to remote candidates, but can also be based in our Boston, New York, or SF Bay Area offices, and will report to a Senior Designer. Safari enjoys a work atmosphere where everyone’s opinions and ideas are valued. We’re committed to work-life balance and offer everyone opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow.

Creative and enthusiastic employees are our most valued resource and the basis for our success. Safari takes great pride in how we recruit, hire, and support our employees. This includes offering a very competitive and comprehensive benefit offering, like medical, company paid dental and vision coverage; matching 401K, company paid short and long-term disability; domestic partner coverage; and paid time off, including paid parental leave, sabbatical leave, paid birthday off and flexible sick time.
