Why Carbon Black?

At Carbon Black, you’ll have an opportunity to make a huge impact while working alongside a global community of passionate security technology experts. For three consecutive years, our valued employees around the world have made Carbon Black a Top Place to Work, as named by the Boston Globe.

Our Engineering team is moving at lightning speed on the breaking edge of technology. You’ll be pulling things apart and tinkering, building new platforms, or playing in the cloud. Here, the engineering opportunities are endless. With this fast-paced, synergetic group, you’ll be working together and across the organization to ensure customer success all while continuing to build a product that protects their dearest assets.

Why You Matter:

The Cb Defense platform team is building an essential security defense against advance persistent threats and malware through comprehensive measurement, detection, protection, and trust capabilities.  Our work is deep inside operating systems—Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux—and we’re looking for team members that like to pry them open and innovate in the gaps.  You’re probably a good fit for the team if:

  • You’re fluent in C++ (both OO and generic constructs) and understand the code that is generated

  • You can easily find your way around a storage stack, task scheduler, or virtual memory

  • You don’t feel dirty poking around a core dump, reading assembly, or reverse engineering things

  • You relish hard problems in security, virtualization, stream processing, forensics, and cryptography

  • You write robust, reliable code

  • You can effectively work remotely

  • You enjoy a fast paced, high energy, high output team

  • You have the computer science background to do so effectively and efficiently

This position is focused on Linux, so familiarity with Linux security modules, loadable kernel modules and troubleshooting loadable kernel modules is valuable.  Experience with the C/C++, Boost, STD template library, and application debugging on Linux is a must. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the development of major functional and component areas from inception through delivery.

Environment

You’ll be part of a small team of smart talented people like yourself. The team shares a sense of purpose and urgency, but in a fun, friendly and informal atmosphere typical of young innovative technology companies. All doors are always open. You’ll work on problems we haven’t figured out and enjoy the satisfaction of having an impact on our success.

What You’ll Do:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Design, develop, test, document and maintain complex software features from general specifications.

  • Apply proven patterns, design principles and software engineering practices to develop quality software.

  • Plan and take responsibility for multiple features through the complete software development lifecycle.

  • Analyze, isolate and resolve problems in product software with little or no guidance.

  • Respond to high-priority issues quickly and drive to resolution and customer satisfaction.

  • Lead and contribute to reviews of software artifacts and give considered, high-quality feedback.

  • Evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques, tools and procedures in the delivery of features.

  • Independently collaborate with peers and with other functional organizations to achieve project goals.

  • Plan and schedule work and tasks across multiple features, manage dependencies, change and risk.

  • Lead projects and the delivery of multiple features to successful conclusion with a minimum of guidance.

  • Provide technical supervision and mentoring of one or more engineers.

  • Recommend new features, technologies, tools, process improvements.

  • Deliver technical training and training materials for other functional organizations in the company.

About Patchman, the product

Our customers comprise of large web hosting providers all around the globe. Security is – obviously – extremely important to them. However, there’s one layer of the security stack they have little or no control over: the code of their end users. Most websites use standard software as a foundation. Did you know that about 30% of the web is running on WordPress, Joomla or Drupal? Hackers continuously exploit security vulnerabilities in these foundations to upload and execute malware. Effectively, this allows hackers to run any malicious code they want. For example: to send spam, launch DDoS attacks or inflict far worse damage.

Patchman comes to the rescue! We offer web hosting providers a fully automated SaaS solution to index security vulnerabilities/risks and resolve them by automatically applying safe backported patches and by defusing malware. On top of that, we offer a web app that helps all stakeholders (including security officers, system administrators, helpdesk employees and end users) to operate Patchman and keep the web secure.

Your role:

As a Linux Security R&D Software Engineer you play a critical role in the organization. You will have full autonomy and responsibility in doing research and development for our product in two major areas: 1) our agent software that is running on our customer’s web hosting servers and 2) innovative methodologies to more efficiently and effectively perform scans, resolve security vulnerabilities and clean up malware. You need to have a deep understanding of Linux, C/C++ and security. Your work directly impacts the safety and workings of millions of websites around the world, so attention to detail and a high quality standard for your work are extremely important skills that we are looking for in evaluating our candidates.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, build and deploy new features for our Linux agent software.
  • Achieve maximum performance and effectiveness by utilizing and developing the Linux kernel, Linux subsystems, Linux ecosystem and low level optimizations.
  • Research and develop innovative methodologies to mitigate security risks and issues.
  • Review and iterate architecture to ensure scale along with our incredible growth.
  • Review and iterate architecture to ensure sensitive data is stored securely at all times.
  • Review and iterate implementation of Linux agent software to ensure maximum performance and low resource usage along with our increasingly complex methodologies.
  • Work with external firms on security audits.

    Our requirements:

  • You have a true passion for the security field.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent professional education.
  • For Dutch candidates: Master’s degree in Kerckhoffs Institute for Computer Security is +1.
  • Several years of relevant work experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Advanced proficiency with C/C++.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of the Linux kernel, its ecosystem and subsystems.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of security.
  • Must be comfortable with customer-facing roles including support and documentation.
  • Self-driven work ethic. You need to love taking initiative and seeing things through to completion.

About Us

We are an innovative IT startup looking to fundamentally change restaurant experience using cutting edge solutions. We are an exceptionally motivated team of technologists, who have taken significant sacrifices to make our project a reality. Despite being a small team we already spent 4 man-years on development from complete greenfield and placed solid foundations for our system. We are working hard to transform a great idea into reality and we need help from more people like us.

About You

You are a seasoned hands-on technologist, you understand what it means to build and operate mission critical IT and have relevant experience to show for it. You enjoy building complex systems that simplify users' everyday life. You have contributed to either open source or private IT projects in your spare time and added substantial value to them.

While you are really good at what you do, you don't just want to work for a large faceless corporation (even if they are doing cool things). Aside from a well paid job, you want to build something great that you also have ownership of. You enjoy having the freedom to act and to take decisions but you also take responsibility for the outcome. You get inspired and you put your full energy behind an idea you believe in. You like having skin in the game.

You have your areas of expertise but you also have the basic knowledge to work on any part of a system. You live and breathe automated testing and automated deployment. Agile work (sprints, branches, code reviews, continuous integration) is how you work. You have a "can do" attitude. Your work is not done until it's documented. You refactor as you go and fix the issues you spot.

About the Role

You will be working closely with our core team of technologists adding features and making changes to our system. You will drive the execution to the end of the mini-projects you take on. You will be involved in every aspect of the project and your contributions will be key to making it a success.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a real startup in a very narrow time window where a large chunk of the work is under way and the go-live is very close. Our employees work for a salary, our partners work for equity. If you prove your worth as a partner you will be compensated just like the founders from a special pool of equity with a 5 year dilution protection which is really valuable when large scale funding is raised.

Given the compensation scheme for partners, there are broadly two ways you can contribute:

  • cautious but dedicated: you keep your job but you give up your free time and work with us at least 15 hours per week
  • all in: you quit your job, go into financial survival mode (or into your savings) and work full-time with us

We currently have people doing both. Anyone who does the latter receives a basic salary but definitely not a commercial rate. The kind of drive and motivation we want cannot be bought with money anyway. Needless to say that the more you contribute, the larger share of the equity pool you will get. The location preference is for London but you can work from anywhere in the world.

Experience in following helps but we expect you to be able to learn new technologies very quickly.

  • NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
  • multi-instance RESTful Java backends
  • JavaScript and AngularJS
  • hardware interaction on Android devices (NFC, GPS, gyro, battery, etc ...)
  • Andorid OS customization, especially for non-Nexus devices
  • networking on Linux, particularly IPsec VPN tunnels and SSL certificate based access
  • infrastructure automation and management on Amazon Web Services

2yr

Apply

At Gitter we're growing a communication network for developers and people who create software. We are home to thousands of open source software communities and help private teams communicate better.

Our small team is rapidly growing and are looking for great people in any corner of the world to help us build a better product.

About the role

You'll be at the core of Gitter, building messaging, search and social-graph APIs for internal and external use (wherever possible, we use the same APIs that our API-users do).

Requirements

You'll have proven, real world experience with:

Building and running node.js services
MongoDB, including profiling and optimisation techniques
Redis -- not just as a cache but as a transactional datastore -- preferably with Lua scripting experience too
Elasticsearch or similar text search tools

You'll have a solid, first-class knowledge of:

Posix command-line tools
Algorithmic complexity and how to reduce it
Building modular, testable code
Deploying maintainable and monitorable systems
HTTP, including security, caching semantics, conditional requests, TLS, websockets, load-balancing
Cloud-based infrastructure, AWS, Google Cloud, Rackspace, etc

Additionally, experience with any of the following technologies would be a bonus:

Front-end Javascript development
Micro-service architectures
Message-queueing using RabbitMQ, NSQ, etc
Zero-downtime application deployment techniques
Devops technologies, particularly Ansible

Open Source

Not only does Gitter host tens-of-thousands of open source communities, but we're passionate about using, and contributing back to, open source projects. We've open sourced our IRC bridge, our desktop clients, many libraries and have plans to open source a great deal more of our code-base. Wherever possible, we reject Not-Built-Here syndrome in favour of using -- and improving through contributions -- existing open-source projects.

GitHub is not your CV, but the ideal candidate will have a demonstrable experience with contributing to open source through commits, pull-requests, issues or comments.

Interesting challenges

Our stack is based around node.js, express.js, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Marionette.js, LESS, Faye running on Ubuntu Linux on AWS Cloud infrastructure, orchestrated with Ansible and it's evolving all the time with our product. There's also iOS and Android pieces built on a hybrid HTML/native model.

Although we're a small company, you'll be growing past the boundaries of current state of the art of technology as far as as you would be in almost any (non-research) startup out there. For example, we've worked with Amazon as we've been the first to discover and isolate some unique serious issues in Amazon Webservice's ELB.

You'll be working in an open environment, where everyone's ideas are equally welcome and all new features are brainstormed together by the whole team.

We're looking for people who are accomplished, but not arrogant; experienced but hungry to learn; perfectionists, but pragmatic; passionate, but personable; we're looking for balanced individuals.

Great users

Your role will be as a software developer, developing software for software developers. It's the ultimate dog-fooding and you will empathise with our users needs, frustrations and desires. In fact, Gitter was built using Gitter from day one.

Remote working

We have a great little office in London, but wherever you are most comfortable working, that's fine by us. If you do happen to come into the office, we get Graze snacks sent in every week and work just around the corner from one of London's best street-food markets, Whitecross Street Market, where we get our lunch together almost every day.

We will always be flexible on hours and if you have a family, we understand that they will always be your number one priority.

Stock Plan

We have a generous employee stock plan - and have allocated 20% of our shares to the employee pool (most startups are closer to 10-15%).

    Requirements

We use Javascript, Node.js, Docker and Linux amongst other technologies. Besides this, just be willing to learn and work with us, and maybe you can teach us a few things too. We are not as focused on particular technologies (10 years of Docker experience!!) but overall skill and ability/willingness to learn.

In particular knowledge and experience with Linux, Docker and devices such as the Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone Black are very useful to us and skills in this area would certainly make you stand out from the crowd.

    The Process

Send us your CV with a focus on what you can bring to the team. Access to a repository of code we can review is a requirement.

If we like what we see, we will contact you for a video call. We may ask you to solve a programming project offline, in a short timeframe, and then discuss your solution. If you're successful at this round, you will be invited to speak to other members of the team to assess your fit in the company.

Knowledge of Coffeescript, node.js, Docker, Linux, Grunt and Postgres is a definite plus, but can be overcome by demonstrating willingness to learn, deep knowledge of JavaScript, Linux, and coding-in-general.

We’re seeking an awesome person to join our distributed seven-person team as a Front-end Developer.

The core responsibility for this position will be building and styling web sites and applications for our non-profit and small business clients. This position will be responsible for things like coding HTML, CSS, and JS for custom websites, styling custom and prebuilt WordPress and Drupal themes, and using javascript (especially jQuery) wizardry to make web applications work for our clients.

Our ideal candidate is a hard-working, curious self-starter comfortable working independently with little supervision, but also able to work as part of a team that includes developers and non-developers. Since we’re a distributed shop, you’ll get to work from home, so we’d love it if you have previous experience working as part of a remote team.

In a nutshell, we need people who can take static designs (typically PSDs) combined with written functional requirements/specifications and turn them into top-notch CMS-powered websites. That means the things we’re looking for include:

  • Strong knowledge of HTML5 markup and CSS3
  • Amazing JavaScript skills (particularly in jQuery)
  • CSS for cross-browser, responsive design. Style ALL THE THINGS! (though typically nothing before IE9)
  • Experience with WordPress and Drupal theming
  • Familiarity with current (and evolving) best practices in front-end dev for semantics, performance, cross-browser consistency, etc.
  • Ability to laugh at our stupid jokes (and the occasional good one)
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors & libraries (particularly sass+compass)
  • Basic familiarity with various tools and libraries such as git, grunt, and susy
  • Won’t lose your s#!% if you occasionally get feedback like “can we make the logo bigger?” or “change the padding by 1px,” which may happen despite our best efforts
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment (think of an Aaron Sorkin TV show)
  • A passion for progressive causes
  • Ability to “put yourself in someone else’s shoes” by thinking about the client’s and client’s customers’ use cases
  • Ability to review a static design and anticipate questions, problems and issues with responsive/interactive elements that may not have been fully considered

Other stuff we’d love it if you’re good at, but aren’t requirements:

  • Photoshop and designing for the web
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Salsa, Convio, and NationBuilder
  • Ability to quickly find topical animated GIFs for our team amusement
  • PHP skills, particularly w/r/t modules/plugins for WordPress and Drupal
  • Wireframing and UX planning/testing
  • Super-fancy HTML5 JavaScript APIs and whatnot
  • Making obtuse geek-culture references
  • Remembering to un-mute yourself before talking on conference calls
  • Basic Linux commands and sysadmin

Note that we don’t expect you to be good at all of the stuff on this second list; if you are, then you’re probably either a superior artificial intelligence robot sent from the future or overstating how good you are at some of this stuff.

Cornershop Creative is a award-winning boutique online services agency committed to listening carefully to our non-profit and small business clients and helping them achieve their goals online. Our designs are beautiful, our websites are creative and innovative, and our copywriting and campaign planning are rock solid. Learn more about us at https://cornershopcreative.com/.

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer / hands-on architect to join (and possibly lead) a major initiative at a critical point in our company’s growth.

This position offers a great opportunity to work with advanced technologies, collaborate with a top-notch, global team and disrupt a highly visible, multi-billion-dollar market.

You:

  • Possess a rock-solid background in Computer Science (minimum BS in Comp Sci or related field) + at least 5 years (ideally 10+) of challenging work experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in coding Java or C++ (ideally both) in Linux environments.
  • Direct experience in the design and creation of SaaS API's that are minimal, efficient, scalable and supportable throughout their lifecycle.
  • Have detailed working knowledge of high volume media serving, digital advertising (especially real-time bidding), instant messaging and/or social networking.
  • Expert understanding of how browsers, servers, networks, databases and applications interact in large-scale, distributed systems.
  • Conversant with relational, column, object, and graph database fundamentals + strong practical experience in at least two of those paradigms.
  • Solid track record of making effective design decisions balancing near-term and long-term objectives.
  • Know when to use commercial or open-source solutions, when to delegate to a team-mate and when to roll up your sleeves and code it yourself.
  • Understand the value of continuous integration, automated testing and tight integration of development and operations to achieve overall platform resiliency and quality.
  • Work effectively in agile teams; get stuff done with minimal guidance and zero BS, help others and know when to ask for help.
  • Clearly communicate complex technical and product issues to non-technical team members, managers, clients, etc.
  • Bonus points for mobile (iOS/Android) and web application development skills/experience!

Our stack combines leading commercial and open source technologies with numerous home-grown innovations, including:

  • PagerDuty, Nagios, Observium, Jenkins, Maven, Purify, VisualVM, Wireshark, Eclipse, Intellij.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate will be familiar with working in a Linux environment (and able to use the appropriate tools), needs to be fluent with C++ (C++03 is great; familiarity with C++11/14 is a bonus) and have experience with test-driven development. Familiarity with Python and other web API technologies would be a bonus.

We are constantly innovating new features that require analysis of petabytes of data. That requires us to think of distributed scalable solutions, so we are always looking for those candidates who can think outside the box but still understand the inherent costs and complexities of distributed systems.

We are also working on different ways of visualizing (via the browser) the state of the overall system to help analyze failure scenarios and develop tools to preemptively spot potential problem states before they become critical.

The team as a whole is actively involved in development on HBase and Hadoop and feed patches back to the community. There are potential opportunities to become involved in this core work on this bleeding edge technology stack.

About the System:

There are four parts to our main indexing service:

  1. Sorting and prioritizing 200 billion URLs into a schedule
  2. Crawling the generated schedule and processing individual pages
  3. Processing the crawled pages and building and inverse link graph: 1,000,000,000,000 links
  4. Serving the inverse link graph via an API

Each of these systems is a distributed parallel system running in the cloud (We had to throw "cloud" in here somewhere :-) ) that runs on multiple nodes: 10 nodes for part 1, 20 nodes for part 2, 40 Nodes for part 3, and 8 nodes for part 4. We use a custom-built DB as the interface between these four systems.

The code is written in C++ (Parts 1-3) and Python (Part 4), with a deployment system built with Bash.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • BS in Computer Science
    • Or a great reason for not having one, and believe us, there are plenty
    • Experience with Linux/Unix environment (you can handle the shell, preferably bash)
    • Experience with C++03
    • Experience with Python
    • At least 2 years of relevant industry experience

      Nice to Have:

    • MSc/PhD in Computer Science
    • Experience with Java
    • Experience with scripting languages Ruby/Node/Bash
    • Experience with C++11 or C++14
    • More than 5 years of relevant industry experience
    • Experience debugging multi-threaded/multi-process/distributed applications
    • Experience using one or more DB technologies in a production environment
    • SQL is nice
    • NoSQL is very nice
    • Knowledge of web services; experience utilizing and creating APIs
    • Knowledge of BigTable/Hadoop/HBase

    • 150% charitable donation match
    • And so much more (feel free to grill us about the rest in the interview!)

We are a team of distributed software developers focusing on exciting challenges of voice, video and text: real-time communications. We are Mojo Lingo: Voice Applications that Work Like Magic.

At Mojo Lingo, the focus of everything we do is communications. Communications underlie everything humans do: every new idea that spread, every magnificent cathedral built, every successful revolution happened because the team behind it communicated effectively. Our mission is to bring seamless, contextual, powerful communications to the world.

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Ruby developer to join our team creating these applications. As a remote position, you will be largely autonomous, and will be required to work independently. In particular, we’re looking for someone who is a strong problem-solver and relishes a challenge in combating ambitious features and complex bugs. Each person on our team is empowered to make decisions and enjoys great latitude in choosing the right tools and method for the job.

What does “Full Stack” mean to us? When we deliver an application, we don’t just throw it over the wall. We think about how our customer will deploy the application and make sure we give them something they can run. That means we are looking for help not only writing the software, but also figuring out how to package it and how to troubleshoot and manage it in production. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable digging into operational issues and finding ways to make everything work that much more smoothly.

From the beginning we have been a distributed team, with headquarters in Atlanta, but our team members are located around the United States, South America, and Europe. We build tools that enable people to communicate fluidly across a wide range of devices, technologies and physical spaces. We are known as application developers and often use technology like speech recognition, text-to-speech, Voice over IP (telephony and non-telephony), instant messaging/text chat and everything to do with the Web.

If you enjoy delighting people by making computers do unexpected things, all while solving complex, technical challenges in a unique industry, come join us!

Summary Requirements

Must Haves - Soft Skills:

  • Curiosity and aptitude for learning complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills - since this is remote work, strong communication by phone/IM/email is critical
  • A commitment to deliver quality work on time
  • Mid-level developer with history of successful projects

    Must Haves - Technical Skills:

  • 2-5 years Ruby experience
  • Experience developing web applications with Rails
  • Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience troubleshooting Linux Operating System issues

    Nice-to-Have - Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Voice over IP, especially any of Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, SIP, Telephony, etc
  • Experience with WebRTC
  • Experience with XMPP or other instant messaging systems
  • Basic skills with HTML, CSS & Javascript, but no design skills required
  • Knowledge of programming languages other than Ruby, such as C, Java, Javascript, Go, Erlang/Elixir, etc. We’re looking for someone with a capacity to learn.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive development of important, customer-facing projects
  • Work on stories as described in our agile project management tool (Pivotal Tracker or Atlassian JIRA)
  • Join our daily standup calls to report status to the team
  • Take feedback from testers and users to identify and resolve application problems
  • Make recommendations on additional features or functionality
  • Diagnose failures in staging and production environments, understand the underlying issues, and resolve them
  • Maintain knowledge of Ruby developer tools and best practices
  • Communicate with clients to understand requirements and report regularly on progress
  • Be self-sufficient delivering assigned tasks - we work as a team, but we expect the members of that team to pull their own weight and contribute independently

    Technology

This is some of the technology we use on projects with our clients. Not every project uses every technology, but we get to apply a diverse range of technology to solve the problems.

Our MySQL Consulting and Support teams are in a class of their own. Our expertise is visible in our widely read MySQL Performance blog and our book High Performance MySQL. We also create and maintain the oldest independent version of the MySQL database server (Percona Server), the only open-source hot backup solution for MySQL (Percona XtraBackup), and many more uniquely valuable software tools such as Percona Toolkit for MySQL users.

Discover what it means to work with the smartest people in the industry, solving the most challenging problems our customers can dream up and throw at you. Work from home, with some required travel. Great benefits, flexible hours, and a chance to be part of a company that's changing the industry.

Percona is the oldest and largest independent MySQL support and consulting company with a global, 24x7 staff of over 100 serving more than 2,000 customers in 50+ countries since 2006.

Description

We’re looking for a full-time web back-end developer to join our team and help continue building the Percona Cloud Tools (https://cloud.percona.com) back end. And this acronym should make you feel uneasy: ORM.

We’re an agile, test-driven, and results-focused team with a touch of pragmatic perfectionism. Those aren’t fancy buzzwords; we do stand-up calls, require 100% passing tests, and deploy working code every week.

The work is challenging, but that’s why it’s also fun and rewarding! Plus, our team is small, so you and your work will have a large impact. This is a rare opportunity to start with a great team, on a great project, at a great company with lots of benefits.

Required Skills

  • Professional Go programming experience, or “I really want to learn Go and I will master it quickly!”
  • Test-driven and zealous about testing
  • Pragmatic perfectionism
  • Excellent programming fundamentals (any language, but Go is prefered)
  • Capable with MySQL (basic usage as a programmer)
  • Comfortable with Linux (basic usage as a programmer)
  • Experience working in an agile team
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Ability to work with others and independently

    Desired Skills

  • Go language
  • Message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis, etc.)
  • Other databases/data stores (memcached, etc.)
  • College degree
  • Can work during or overlap US time zone

Travel per year: 1 team meeting, usually 1 conference, more if desired

Adacado is looking for exceptionally motivated people who love to see the impact of their work on a global scale and who want to be a part of something special and unique.

Adacado is seeking an experienced (Java) software developer to evolve our real-time creative advertising platform. The successful candidate will work closely with all members of the development team to design, implement, test, and deploy the next generation of the Adacado software suite, and maintain each iteration from cradle to grave. As Adacado is quite diverse in its functions, a senior developer will always have the opportunity to (and is expected to) learn and play with new technologies, and to bring innovation to the table, evolving, enhancing and optimizing the Adacado platform over time. The successful candidate must also have the ability to diagnose problems across the entire software and hardware stack rather than just debug a piece of code.

Adacado is not expecting you to arrive with everything you need to know. We work in a highly collaborative environment where we’ll educate you on the technologies we’ve adopted while you help to further innovate adacado, be it software, procedures, or fun!

While Adacado is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver with easy access to public transit, employees are allowed to telecommute. We maintain very flexible work hours and a casual dress code. All developers in the office are provided with dual-monitor stations and the freedom to use whichever development tools they are most comfortable with. Lunch is provided company-wide on Fridays. The successful candidate is also eligible to receive a signing bonus.

    Required

    • Minimum of bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
    • 8+ years professional experience in software design, development, testing, and maintenance (primarily in Java)
    • Outstanding programming and debugging skills in Java
    • Deep experience with relational database design and optimization
    • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to translate requirements into a technical design, but within the constraints of the current platform
    • Experience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems
    • Experience with Linux command line programs and shell scripts
    • Ability to evaluate and recommend possible third party technologies
    • Must be self-motivated and capable of owning development projects

      Bonus Points

Adacado welcomes all skillsets but special consideration will be given to candidates with exceptional experience with any of the following: Maven, Git, Tomcat, Nginx, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, ElasticSearch, ActiveMQ, Akka, HTML5, jQuery, jQuery UI, Bootstrap, AngularJS, NodeJS, Grunt, RequireJS, MRAID, D3, Python, XSLT, Hibernate, Spring
Experience with Big Data related technologies and Business Intelligence solutions

      About Adacado

At the core we're a software company and we develop disruptive digital advertising technologies. Our clients use adacado for the creation, targeting, delivery, measurement and optimization of real-time creative ads, matching every impression with the best product/ offer. Mid 2013 was the tipping point for programmatic advertising and the explosion of real-time bidding platforms, initiating what is now rocketing demand for adacado, and in turn driving our rocketing demand for more smart, talented, driven and fun people.

Our platform is large-scale, globally distributed, service oriented, and event driven. Our proprietary patent-pending technology responds to 100s of millions of ad requests per month, delivering the best RTC ad from 10s to 100s of thousands of available creative within any given campaign. Through granular ad tracking we collect huge amounts of data, the foundation from which we generate very sophisticated analytics and optimization that drive campaign performance and success for our clients.
