We draw on each other's strengths and allow for different work styles to build engagement and satisfaction to deliver results. \n \n**What you'll be doing:**\n\n- Set the technical vision and build the technical product roadmap to scale a word class product and services ecommerce experience; including defining long-term goals and strategies\n- Define technical requirements and systems architecture with clarity on feasibility, time, cost, and impact\n- Set buy/build strategy and negotiate with vendors to follow through on the strategy\n- Define best practices around coding methodologies, software development, and quality assurance\n- Attract and retain a team of world-class engineers\n- Establish a high performing, one-team engineering culture emphasizing creativity, growth, and development\n- Ensure all internal processes and external services comply with security and privacy regulations\n- Define and implement a consistent and repeatable process for quality assurance across all areas of organization and product build\n- Identify opportunities and challenges in the marketplace, with constant evaluation of technological advancements and innovation to mitigate impediments and cultivate success\n \n\n**What will make you successful:**\n\n- 8+ years architecting & building ecommerce experiences from pre-launch through maturity\n- Startup experience in key engineering leadership positions at high-growth technology companies\n- Experience scaling products, overseeing their build from MVP to mass scale\n- Hands-on skills in one or more modern programming languages (Nodejs, Typescript and Ruby preferred)\n- Experience with building service based architecture including use of micro services frameworks\n- Deep experience of application security and experience with PCI and regulatory compliance\n- Strong knowledge of DevOps and cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, etc.)\n- Very thorough analytical and problem-solving skills - including requirements analysis, debugging and risk assessment\n \n\n**Preferred experience:**\n\n- Experience in software development using Shopify\n- SAP integration experience\n- Demonstrates creativity with a keen focus on innovative. Our users range widely, including nonprofits raising money and building brand awareness, content creators engaging their audiences, individuals launching personal fundraisers and everything in between.\n\nWe build software that facilitates just about every aspect of buying or selling custom apparel online. Our UX-heavy modules include our self service merchandise design tool and campaign/store setup flows which dovetail into our highly trafficked campaign pages & checkout flows. We also build for the supply chain & logistics side of our business, with portals and services that serve admin, preproduction, design and fulfillment needs.\n\nAs Director of Engineering you’ll report directly to the CTO and lead our company’s engineering planning efforts while ensuring that every feature that we ship is made with quality and delivered on time.
