Our teams play a role in empowering people to discover healthier lives by creating effortless tests, collection kits, and services. \n\n\nItโ€™s first-to-market, innovative products include rapid tests for the detection of antibodies to HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) on the OraQuickยฎ platform; sample self-collection and stabilization products for molecular applications; and oral fluid laboratory tests for detecting various drugs of abuse. \n\n\nOverview \nDNA Genotek products are marketed worldwide and support thousands of customers as they achieve breakthroughs in genomic and microbiome research, in diagnostics laboratories, in the pharmaceutical industry, in companion animal genomics and in personalized medicine.  \n\n\nReporting directly to the General Counsel, You will be the primary legal resource for our molecular collections and services business, comprised of our DNA Genotek (Canada), Diversigen (US) and Novosanis (Belgium) affiliates. \n\n\nWe are looking for a business-minded leader, a team player, and a problem solver. Our team values a collaborative mindset, a calm approach to challenges, and an ability to manage expectations up and down the organization. We are a legal department that seeks to build strong relationships across the company and to understand the challenges faced by the groups we support.\n\n\nPlease note, this is a fully remote position and can be based out of either the US or Canada. \n\n\n\nSnapshot of Responsibilities\n* Commercial โ€“ negotiate and review all contracts for our molecular business, including purchase agreements, distribution agreements, consulting and non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, material transfer agreements, licenses.\n* Employment - serve as primary lawyer for Canadian HR and employment matters and manage local employment counsel for our affiliates. Assist in the review and update of employee handbook and key HR policies. Assist in creating patient education materials.\n\n* Maintain clinical and coding knowledge in an evolving healthcare environment. The incumbent should have a strong understanding of the Latin American regulatory environment and Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism, Countering Proliferation (AML/CFT/CP) and Sanctions laws and regulations and best practices to control these risks in the financial sector.\n\n\n\n\nThe incumbent will also work with the Compliance Manager in developing, implementing and continuously improving the Know Your Customer (KYC), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Transaction Monitoring (TM) program, policies and procedures and ensuring that Compliance Unit executes the companyโ€™s regulatory reporting requirements and effectively mitigating money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF) and Sanctions offense risks in accordance with applicable laws and expectations in the jurisdictions in which the company operates. \nABOUT THE COALITION\n\nThe Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC) aligns building industry stakeholders with energy providers, environmental organizations and local governments to help electrify homes and workspaces with clean energy. Through convening, policy analysis and consumer awareness building, the Coalition is pursuing fast, fair action to accelerate the development of zero-emission homes and buildings that will help states across the nation cut one of its largest sources of climate pollution, while creating safe, healthy and affordable communities. \n\nPOSITION SUMMARY \n\nBDC is bringing together policymakers, market actors, organized labor, environmental justice groups, advocates and other stakeholders across priority states and regions to co-create and advance a common approach to phasing out gas appliances. Together, the states we are targeting represent 60% of the U.S. gas demand in buildings.\n\nIn this newly created position, the Northwest Regional Senior Manager will bring deep energy and climate knowledge, political savvy, and coalition-building and campaigning experience to serve this place-based role in the respective region. The Northwest Regional Senior Manager will report to the Director of State Mobilization and support BDCโ€™s Groundswell campaign focused on accelerating nationwide momentum towards making building decarbonization and the clean energy transition inevitable. \n\nThis position is designed for a highly motivated self-starter with prior local- and state-level building decarbonization policy and market development experience. The Northwest Regional Senior Manager brings a knowledge and familiarity of the statewide players, the challenges and the opportunities in the region; and, will serve as the on-the-ground presence gaining expertise in the regionโ€™s existing strengths, gaps and greatest value add. \n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\nStrategy Development & Implementation\n\n\n* In partnership with the Director of State Mobilization and staff leadership, create and implement the state- and regional- level strategy for the northwest [specific attention in Washington and Oregon], including short- and long-term goals and outcomes that cascade from an overarching strategic plan.\n\n* Develop and cultivate relationships with key state policymakers, external partners, and in-state allies (local non-profits, communications firms, lobbyists, etc.) in key states.\n\n* Working with BDCโ€™s federal lobbyist and Director of State Mobilization, track key federal policy and funding opportunities as they relate to BDCโ€™s state/regional work.\n\n* Continuously improve knowledge of state-level building decarbonization, environmental justice, and equity policies and integrate it into the state/regional work.\n\n\n\n\nPolicy Research, Analysis & Technical Assistance\n\n\n* Lead the development of the policy agenda for building decarbonization at state- and regional levels, providing research, policy analysis and technical assistance for the Coalition. \n\n* Serve as the lead point person on policy education and communication with policymakers and regulators, including developing strong relationships, identifying opportunities and priorities and working in coalition with others to move the Coalitionโ€™s policy agenda forward.\n\n* Oversee production strategic documents and/or marketing materials to advance the policy agenda and establish the Coalition as the go-to resource for policymakers and regulators.\n\n\n\n\nMarket Development\n\n\n* Establish a market development agenda for the state that includes the strategies and partnerships necessary to transform the market toward building electrification in alignment with the Coalitionโ€™s national strategic plan.\n\n* In partnership with the Director of Communications, support the development of consumer awareness building campaigns and efforts that clarify the customer and industry value propositions, inspire improvements in the supply chain and leverage a policy environment that supports building decarbonization. \n\n* Determine the need for and facilitate industry- or equipment-specific and/or regionally-focused working groups to advance building decarbonization within the state.\n\n* In partnership with the Market Transformation team, support the facilitation and implementation of market development activities such as changes to  equipment/appliance specifications, industry-led consumer awareness campaigns, innovative financing and program design (incentives) and workforce development.\n\n\n\n\nResource Development & Management\n\n\n* In partnership with the Director of State Mobilization, identify key initiatives, scope the funding needs for the Coalitionโ€™s state-based strategies. \n\n* In partnership with the Deputy Director and Director of State Mobilization, oversee the build out of any state-based support needs, including the recruitment and hiring of any contractor and consulting staff.\n\n* Coordinate with other program teams (CA, NY, Communications, Consumer Inspiration, Operations) as needed to accomplish organizational objectives.\n\n* Represent BDC at key conferences, events, webinars, etc. and in the media as needed.\n\n\n\n\nSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS\n\n\n* Strong commitment to the mission, policies and goals of BDC, and a proven track record of accomplishments and subject matter expertise in the building decarbonization or climate space. \n\n* Political sophistication and policy analysis, exceptional coalition building skills and the ability to communicate, work effectively and build consensus among a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a broad network that includes environmental NGOs and justice groups, labor, manufacturing and real estate/development preferred; multi-sector experience, including public, private and non-governmental is optimal.\n\n\n\n* 5+ years of experience, preferably with solid understanding of building electrification and/or climate solutions.\n\n* Proven understanding of clean energy framework/plans, particularly in Washington and Oregon, including relevant legislation, public policymaking/legislative and regulatory environments and success in influencing policy agendas and outcomes at local and state levels.\n\n* Highly collaborative work style with the ability to operate as a peer and thought partner to the Director of State Mobilization and other team leads. \n\n* Outstanding leadership and relationship-building skills with clarity of vision and a commitment to the highest levels of integrity, quality and collaboration. \n\n* Ability to set clear priorities, keen analytic, organizational and problem-solving skills that enable sound decision making. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders across the company to help inform Alpineโ€™s pipeline strategy, proactively track relevant industry trends and developments, conduct market research and competitive intelligence activities and support early commercial planning for key pre-launch target audiences.\n \nDuties and responsibilities\n \nยท         Maintain & internally promote the availability of a comprehensive competitor tracker, one-page competitor summaries, analyst reports, 3rd party reports etc.\nDesign and oversee qualitative market research studies, and leverage insights to inform strategic decisions around pipeline programs and BD opportunities.\nยท         Conduct ad-hoc online research as directed (e.g., semi-annual awareness tracker, competitor commercial or clinical performance, past clinical presentations, patent status, benchmarks)\nBuild and maintain Excel-based forecast models for indications of interest.\nLead competitive intelligence and conduct strategic analyses (e.g., competitive landscape assessments, gap analyses, comparable deals, etc.) required to assess and execute partnership and collaboration opportunities.\nDesign, recruit and help facilitate commercially driven Advisory Boards with HCPs, KOLs, payers and other stakeholders.\nยท         Identify key abstracts/ presentations at relevant medical conferences, issue news alerts, organize conference coverage, issue post-conference summary.\nFrom time to time, work with BD team/ Chief Business Officer to evaluate corporate and business development transactions through market and competitive assessments.\nAbility to travel 10-25% of the time, mostly within the US, including occasional off-hours and weekend work for events and medical meetings.\n \nQualifications\n \nยท         Undergraduate degree in biological sciences or business, ideally followed by an MBA or equivalent qualifications. \nยท         5+ years of successful experience with increasing responsibility in biopharmaceutical commercial analytics roles, including market research, competitive intelligence, data sciences, new product planning, corporate strategy, in-house consulting and/or product marketing.\nยท         Prior experience in management consulting, market research agencies, investment analytics or biotech/pharma corporate strategy a plus\nยท         Strong analytical, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities\nยท         In-depth understanding of the drug development process, small molecules, biologics, and other platforms in immunology and/or oncology.\nยท         Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work streams and deadlines, balance opposing priorities and communicate effectively.\nยท         Excellent written and oral communications skills.\nยท         Self-starter with initiative and ability to execute once strategies are set.\nยท         Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.\nยท         Strong project management skills; highly organized and detailed-oriented.\nยท         Knowledge of MS Office applications and especially strong in Excel and PowerPoint. \nยท         Experience/familiarity with social media strategy, tools, and technologies (e.g., Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn)\n\n\n#LI-Remote\n\n\n\n\n\nAt Alpine we engage equitable workplace strategies to ensure fair compensation.
