As part of the team, you will contribute to fundamental features of the Storj distributed network to build a better alternative to the traditional cloud in all of security, performance, and cost-efficiency.\n\nWhile we don’t expect you to be already an expert in every technology we list, we are looking for people who have a demonstrated ability to learn, grow, understand requirements, and get stuff done.\n \n\n \n**Responsibilities:**\n\n•Design, implement, and maintain fundamental features for the Storj network:\n \n•Reliable storage, audit, and repair of data \n•Erasure coding and end to end encryption\n•Efficient communication between network peers\n•Design, implement, and maintain client libraries and tools for the Storj network\n \n•Analyze and improve performance throughout the technology stack\n \n•Analyze and improve the consistency model of the Storj network\n \n•Actively participate in code reviews across the engineering organization to ensure best practices are followed\n \n•Actively participate in architectural design and reviews\n \n•Discuss and suggest improvements to the development process, code convention, and best practices across the engineering organization\n \n•Work directly with the QA, Support, and DevOps teams to resolve issues\n \n\n \n**Qualifications:**\n\n•10+ years of professional coding experience in Go or other object-oriented programming languages\n \n•Working knowledge or deep interest in distributed systems\n \n•Security-first mindset\n \n•Experience building highly concurrent applications\n \n•Ability to learn new software, frameworks, and APIs quickly\n \n•Eagerness to be collaborative, quality conscious, highly self-motivated, and use excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills\n \n\n\n \n**Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion:**\n\nAt Storj Labs, we celebrate diversity and strive for an inclusive work culture. To accomplish this, it is important that our team is equipped to succeed.\n \nStorj is looking for a Developer Evangelist to help the team build an end-to-end developer engagement platform that drives adoption of its decentralized cloud storage service. You will be an advocate for Storj, communicating its benefits, values, and open source ethos to developers around the world. You will also act as a spokesperson and thought leader within the community and to other external audiences. This includes in-person presentations, hackathons, events, webinars and other online presentations, as well blogs and other written content. You will need a strong development background to assist our community of developers as they build on top of Storj. \n\n\n### Responsibilities\n\n* Code and build simple projects that showcase the privacy, security, and other benefits of Storj’s decentralized cloud storage service. \n* Support the product team by helping them understand the needs of developers and how preferences and feedback translate into the user experience.\n* Form relationships with developers both inside and outside of the community, work with them to understand their needs, and advocate for them within the company to show how internal teams at Storj can help them. \n* Present to developers at tradeshows, webinars, and other events both in-person and online. \n* Publish content about Storj’s offerings including blogs, guides, documentation, code samples, tutorials, podcasts, etc. \n* Support developers on our forum with issues they encounter while integrating with Storj. \n\n\n### Qualifications\n\n* Experience building relationships with developers in a programmatic technology evangelist, advocate, or other relevant positions and experience.\n* Ability to work with developers to earn their trust and assist them with projects. \n* Willingness to spend 25-50% of your time traveling (when travel is safe)β€”both domestic and internationalβ€”to tradeshows, conferences, and meetups subject to pandemic-related travel restrictions.
