\nAt Stitch Fix, our goal is to help our customers look great and feel great about themselves by revolutionizing how people shop. In a time-starved world where shopping often feels overwhelming, our business connects customers to clothes they love. Whether it’s helping someone dress for success at a new job or taking the stress out of packing for a family vacation, we fix clients’ closets – and they love us for it!\n\nWe’ve built unique, innovative software for merchandising, warehouse and inventory management, remote styling, and logistics. We leverage vast amounts of client data to make decisions throughout the company. All of this results in a simple, powerful offering to our clients and a very successful business. We believe we are only scratching the surface of our opportunity, and we’re looking for incredible people to contribute!\n\nAbout the Role\n\nProduct is our primary concern. We hire engineers with great Product instincts because we are also the Product team. Building great software is a collaborative effort, so we work directly with stakeholders in the business. We deliver products & solutions—not features—because we understand how Stitch Fix works and are trusted to focus our time and effort where they are needed most.\n\nWe are looking for an experienced principal full-stack engineer who has built or worked heavily on a couple of Rails applications and has some other MVC framework experience. You want to help lead a team to success.\n\nYou love talking to your clients & users about what you can build for them. You are interested in how Stitch Fix works as a business, not just in the technology, and you would like a chance to make it work even better.

\nAbout the Team\n\nStitch Fix has an extensive internal platform for managing our business, from inventory management to warehouse logistics to our own Personal Styling platform, each serving thousands of internal users who run the business every day.  Our public-facing infrastructure is growing as well, helping millions of our customers be their best selves.  It’s all tied together with an array of user-facing applications and back-end services.\n\nWe’re ops savvy, but not ops-focused. While we are currently hosting our Rails apps on Heroku and leveraging their add-on ecosystem, we are only married to what works, and are constantly re-evaluating our technical infrastructure.  We aren’t afraid of change if that helps us deliver faster, better, and more reliable solutions to our business partners and customers.\n\nThis is where you come in. Stitch Fix needs a Ruby and Rails developer with a keen interest in development tools, technical operations and “developer happiness”.  We have a lot of applications, services, and infrastructure, and we need someone who can be dedicated to make sure it’s meeting the needs of the development team.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nYou’d be walking into a welcoming and diverse environment that is built around partnership, integrity, feedback, responsibility, and innovation. We have over 20 Rails apps and services, hosted on Heroku, and deployed with a high degree of consistency. Our mature engineering team is truly partners to those that run Stitch Fix by providing efficiency & effectiveness with the tools we develop. \n\nYou’re excited about this opportunity because you will...\n\n\n* Make application development and deployment easier for the engineering team\n\n* Help us solve thorny problems around performance and fault-tolerance\n\n* Build tools and systems to manage security\n\n* Make sure we’re up-to-date on the best practices of our service providers (Heroku, AWS, etc.)\n\n* Investigate new tools & technologies our team can use to solve problems for the business\n\n\n
