We are working on tough, real-time communication challenges and our users (and developer community) expect the highest levels of performance and reliability. As we continue to grow, we want to create an elegant and efficient production environment. Your mission? To build a bridge between development and infrastructure operations that will make our teams more effective and our systems hum.\n\nYou will help plan, build, monitor and maintain our infrastructure. The Spatch platform and client applications are supported by various cloud services, and you’ll make sure those are all running in a smooth, reliable, secure, and reproducible way. You will have to write code, provision resources, scale system with load, automate deployments, build development environments, and about 1000 other things. If you are still nodding your head yes, we should talk.\n\nRequirements:\n5+ years experience building high performance, high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable, secure infrastructure\nObsessive about security (Tin-foil hat Tuesday optional)\nFirm understanding of the protocols that make the Internet tick (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, SMTP, HTTP, ...)\nExperience managing Amazon AWS including EC2, S3, Cloudfront, etc.\nAlternatively convince us why we should be using bare-metal servers\nStrong scripting skills (shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc)\nKnow why Linux is amazing and how to exploit it. And you know why it sucks and how to fix it\nAlternatively convince us why we should be using *BSD\nExperience setting up and managing a continuous integration or deployment development process (Jenkins, TravisCl, CircleCl, etc)\nExposure supporting an entire production stack: clients, the application layer, caching, databases, network routing, etc.\nMajor Plus: Active contributor to open source community\nHacker at heart. Intellectually curious, collaborative, self-motivated, fast learner, comfortable with venturing in to the unknown\nBackend built in Erlang/Elixir so experience supporting it in production is preferred \n\n#Salary\n90000 - 140000\n \n\n#Equity\n0.1 - 1.0\n \n\n#Location\n- London

We’re looking for someone who can join the platform team to help us build, scale and maintain the software services which define the core messaging components of Spatch. You would have immediate influence on the design and direction of our platform and protocol.\n\nAt Spatch you will face some of the most difficult challenges in modern software engineering. The scale at which our systems must operate will require not only producing and using highly-performant algorithms and data structures, but also solving complex problems involving distributed systems, operational transformation algorithms, and security. Furthermore, most (if not all) our server-side code will be open source. Your craftsmanship and hard work will always be on display.\n\nRequirements:\n - An excitement for the Spatch vision and opportunity\n - 5+ years of experience building high performance, high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable distributed systems\n - You want to come in each morning *because* you have hard problems to solve\n - A solid foundation in computer science, with strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design\n - You write tests and you feel rage when anyone commits without them\n - You find bugs, slow algorithms, and sloppy code personally offensive\n - Major plus: Active contributor to open source community\n - A hacker at heart. Intellectually curious, collaborative, self-motivated, fast learner that is comfortable with venturing into the unknown\n - Our backend is built in Erlang/Elixir so direct experience is preferred \n\n#Salary\n90000 - 140000\n \n\n#Equity\n0.1 - 1.0\n \n\n#Location\n- London
