\nThe team\n\nSimpleStaking is developing a new Tezos node shell and other solutions for the Tezos community. We are a team of experts with extensive experience in system design, information security and blockchain technology.  Our work combines cutting-edge cryptography, P2P technology and decentralized consensus architectures.\n\nOur work\n\nCurrently, we are developing the TezEdge node, a new node shell for Tezos. In addition to our main project, we also develop tools for blockchain developers, such as the TezEdge Node Explorer.  We regularly post articles about Tezos, step-by-step guides and detailed explanations of the inner workings of Tezos. \n\nThe position\n\nWe are looking for an experienced developer who is ready to immediately contribute to our work on the new Tezos node.\n\nAs our codebase is in Rust and OCaml, we expect you to be familiar with the language or you are prepared to learn it quickly. We are currently in the midst of a 2 year project and we expect you to begin pulling your weight as soon as possible.\n\nWhat we expect of you:\n\n\n* You will develop and maintain the Tezos node. Day-to-day tasks include working on P2P networks, databases, cryptography, APIs and consensus algorithms.\n\n* Since we are creating software that handles large financial values, we place an emphasis on developing solutions that have the highest possible degree of security, with a secondary objective being speed and performance. We expect you to adopt this mindset when you begin working with us.\n\n* Having a solid overview of Tezos and other blockchain platforms is useful, but not  necessary\n\n* As a developer, we also want you to contribute to the growing number of guides, articles and progress updates about the TezEdge node.\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* At least 2 years of programming experience with OCaml.\n\n* 4+ years in functional programming, that may include other languages (Haskel, F# ,Erlang, ...).\n\n* Have experience with advanced data structures and algorithms.\n\n* Debugging, profiling and performance optimization skills.\n\n* Secure coding practices.\n\n* Attention to the quality and readability of your code.\n\n* Passion to hack on Linux systems.\n\n\n

We emphasize that we are in need of the technical aspect of writing, meaning that you will need to have an understanding of blockchain and, ideally, a background in coding. You will be working closely with our senior tech writer, who will oversee your work, provide feedback and help polish your texts in terms of readability. From time to time, you will be asked to either call or meet one of our developers in order to draft new articles, guides or project updates.\n\nTo get an idea of what you will be writing, you can check out some of our previous articles on our Medium and the TezEdge documentation.\n\nYour duties will include\n\n\n* Helping demystify the Tezos blockchain for a broader audience.\n\n* Contributing to the growing number of guides, articles and progress updates about the TezEdge node.\n\n* Communicating and consulting our developers on their work.\n\n* Reading through the code (particularly the comments) that will be written by our developers.\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* A high level of written English.\n\n* Prior experience (2 years+), either as a tech writer or as a code developer.\n\n* An excellent understanding of either blockchain, distributed computing or security.\n\n* An ability to explain complex concepts in an engaging and simple manner.\n\n* An active interest in coding and a willingness to research new concepts.\n\n* Experience in handling content strategy.\n\n* Punctuality in meeting deadlines.\n\n\n\n\nNot required, but nice to have:\n\n\n* At least some experience with programming languages (C++, Rust, OCaml, Haskell). \n\n* Knowledge of the Tezos blockchain.\n\n\n
