The esports space is booming, and we're in the middle of it, working with some of the largest teams in the world to help them create better rosters, and work more efficiently with their sponsors. Also, we're funded by some of the largest VCs in the world, and others that are the largest in Canada.

We build SaaS apps, and you'll be leading the development of one of our offerings. You'll have a complete static mockup along with front end assets, including a UI/UX team to help you make changes on the fly. This means we don't need you to worry about design & UI/UX. You'll have a very experienced DevOps team to help you with deployment. You'll also work with a product manager who can help you translate mockup into functioning code.

You'll build a tool that interfaces with some of the world's largest social networks. You'll be consuming many social APIs (including our own!), and use the resulting content to make the lives of esports teams better.

Our team is remote and experienced. We need you to be OK with the first attribute, and come loaded with the second. We love to play PC games during (solo) and outside of (group) working hours. Finally, you will not be micro managed. If you need that level of management, you're not the right fit.

Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a SaaS product used by the largest esports teams in the world.

Work with product management team to refine the product spec, and translate those specs into actual code.

Work with the UI/UX lead to translate static mockup into working front end code.

Implement custom analytics to help you understand how user cohorts are using the product you've developed, and then optimize for user experience accordingly.

Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working in tech startups. 3+ years of experience as a developer. The roller coaster is something you're comfortable with.

Able to build a SaaS app from the ground up with minimal supervision using a modern web framework (Django, Express, etc.)

Hands-on experience in web services (REST, OAuth etc.), API Development, and gateways/proxies.

Intermediate knowledge and experience with MySQL

Strong knowledge of client-side JS frameworks (Vue.js, React) and front-end tooling (Webpack, Gulp)

Skills:

  • Frameworks

  • APIs

  • esports

  • MySQL

  • JavaScript

    Additional Information:
Work with people who have done this before, including world class VCs.

    A competitive startup salary

Stock options - a part of this company can be yours

If you apply for the job, mention any Twitch emotes somewhere in your application so we know you actually read this. If you don't, we'll just throw your app away (kappa).

This year

Repable powers data-informed decision making for streamers and eSports athletes. Our passion is gaming, and we're constantly flipping back and forth between hard work and quick bursts of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League & other games. We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates.

This is a front-end development position, working closely with the back-end, product management and UI/UX design team members. Your will primarily be creating and developing user interfaces for gamers using our platform. They'll rely on the UI to make decisions about their weekly gameplay, and will make those decisions based on how you present data to them. We want someone passionate about UI/UX, who understands that development is a series of problem solving exercises to fulfill user goals.

This position requires prior experience. You're ideally not straight out of a programming boot camp, unless you were among the best in your class. You may need to create assets from time to time, but you'll be focusing largely on the development side of our user experience, onboarding and dashboards.

We’re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were.

What your first year will look like:

  • You'll be constantly working with our UI/UX designer to iterate on and implement design concepts. As such, you won't need to spend a lot of time in asset-creation land (unless you want to), but rather in the code itself.
  • You'll guide the front-end vision of the company by choosing the languages and frameworks that we use, and make sure that they can scale with us appropriately.
  • You'll be making data-informed decisions, and will share tasks in the artful balance between putting your code out in the wild and tracking it to understand if it's working as intended.
  • You'll hit your head against the limitations of beautiful email mail-outs. More on that during the interview.

    Requirements:

  • The standard stuff you'd expect to see in any front-end position. CSS, HTML, frameworks, etc. You know what those things are and how to use them.
  • You understand how to present data to users, and the technical ramifications of your methods. This is a VERY vast topic, and you'll be expected to speak intelligently about it.
  • Worked in startups before. You understand the intricacies of working with a small team, and are ready to do it all over again.

    Qualifications:

Experience: 1 to 4 years experience in a similar role.
    Language: English
  • We substantially prefer experience over academia.

    Skills:

User Interface, Design User Experience, Data Visualization, Analytics, HTML, CSS

    Perks:

  • Work with people who have done this before
  • A competitive startup salary
  • Stock options - a part of this company could be yours
  • Grow the early stage of a company

Repable powers data-informed decision making for streamers and eSports athletes. Our passion is gaming, and we're constantly flipping back and forth between hard work and quick bursts of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League & other games. We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates.

We’re currently looking for a back-end developer to turn our MVP into something scalable. The position requires a lot of flexibility and deep knowledge in scraping and API consumption. Ideally, you have experience working with startups and/or with analytics companies. You'll be working with a rounded team of individuals, including a product manager, a front-end developer and a dedicated UI/UX designer. Given that the team is small, you'll be able to dabble into many parts of the development process, while keeping a strong focus on our back-end services.

We’re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were.

What Your First Year Will Look Like:

  • You'll be an integral part of building the Repable platform. This includes API integration with 3rd party sites, web scraping using AWS / cloud services, and the set up of a basic consumer-facing SaaS service back end.
  • You’ll play a role in the direction and growth plan of product, and implement that vision from a tech perspective. This means that some days, you’ll be discussing traffic growth and elasticity with the team, the advisors and investors of the company.
  • You’ll help the company stay real, by showing us solutions that will give us 80% of what we need for 20% of the cost.

    Requirements:

  • Mastery of web scraping and consuming information from third party APIs are a must. You'll have shown a track record of doing this in the past.
  • A thorough understanding of Amazon Web Services and competing suites of products.
  • Extensive experience in your front-end language of choice. No, really. We’re agnostic at this point, but we do have opinions.
  • You’ve successfully led or substantially participated in the development and deployment of a client-facing SaaS app.
  • You’re comfortable with product development and web operations. You can easily interact with product managers, designers, engineers, web operators and BI / analytics teams.
  • You can tell us during our initial meetings all about SaaS apps and what particular challenges they bring, and how you’ve overcome some of them.
  • You’ll temper dreams and be able to propose solutions that will give the company 80% of what it needs for 20% of the cost.

    Qualifications:

Experience: 1 to 5 years experience in a similar role.

    Skills:

System Architecture, Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API consumption, Web Scraping, Backend Development

You make things look amazing.  That’s what you do.  You have a fundamental understanding of why sites like Lever, Buffer, KISSMetrics, Slack, Hall and RescueTime look great and work well.  You also appreciate the concept of designing with data, knowing when to use numbers to inform your decisions, and when to go with your gut.

You aim to balance creativity with analysis & development, and look for cultures that respects design.  That being said, you've worked enough to know how painful the balance between shipping and perfection is.  Some say "design is beautiful.", but you know better, and believe "done is beautiful."

We’re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America.  You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were.

What Your First Year Will Look Like:

• You will be designing user interfaces, site flows and user flows for our product offerings.
• Our users will rely on your UI to make important decisions regarding their playing habits.  You'll know how to display data to them in a way that they immediately understand.
• Given that we’re working with gamers with limited technical knowledge, the UI needs to be clean to use and easy to follow.

You love being challenged to build interfaces from the ground up, and that’s what this position requires.  Your responsibilities will revolve around taking back-end developer output (API data) and turning it into works of UI art.

Requirements:

• You are an expert in visual design, having created the UI/UX approach to real world web products, preferably for SaaS or two-sided marketplace businesses.
• You'll be responsible for Repable's visual identify, creating our public-facing assets including website and other collateral as required.
• You can apply your exceptional understanding of visual design principles including color, shape, composition, and typography to web products.  You understand how they relate to web app development, user flow and UI specifically.
• You create UI components in a variety of styles that are both delightful and usable.
• You produce polished assets in Photoshop/Illustrator/etc efficiently as necessary.
• You can easily create assets that are consumable by front-end and back-end developers.
• You are passionate about iterating on designs in a fast-paced environment, before and after launch.
• You’re inspired by both qualitative research and analytics to creatively experiment and optimize your designs.
• You’re highly collaborative. You’ve worked with senior developers, product managers, internal sales teams and clients to provide successful designs solutions.
• You have knowledge of JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5.
• You are familiar with MVC and MVVM patterns, frontend app frameworks (Extjs, AngularJS, backbone.js, knockoutjs, …).

Experience: 1 to 6 years experience in a similar role.
