Raven Solutions seeks a talented cloud solutions architect with experience in AWS Architecture and DevOps to support our Federal contracts with the Department of Defense and Homeland Security. This position is designated as a multi-year independent contractor position and can be done remotely. \n\nThe cloud solutions architect will work closely with engineering staff to design, build and support our Windows based AWS GovCloud environment. Utilize your experience and scripting skills to automate management of server resources and implement code for zero-downtime deployments and to facilitate DevOps practices.\n\nResponsibilities:\nβ€’ Deploy Windows and Linux application stacks using AWS Cloudformation, AWS console, SDK/CLI\nβ€’ Understand, implement and automate security controls, governance processes and compliance validationΒ via DISA approved methods.\nβ€’ Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging\nβ€’ Provide feedback and recommendations concerning platform optimization, acceptable development methods, deployment / build methods, product and tool improvements\nβ€’ Implement and administer continuous integration tools and methodologies\nβ€’ Troubleshoot and resolve issues and incidents\nβ€’ Restore databases and servers from snapshot\nβ€’ Provide metrics for usage / availability / service targets\nβ€’ Recommend Software / Configure POCsΒ Β \nβ€’ Maintain AMIs (Amazon Machine Images) with required patches and upgradesΒ (experience w/Packer is a +)\nβ€’ Provide technical guidance,Β  knowledge sharing and mentoring\nβ€’ Creation & Implementation of DISA STIGs\nβ€’ Run periodic scans using Tenable ACAS & manage DISA approved HBSS appliance β€’ Continuously maintain knowledge base with guidelines and best practices \n\nRequirements:\nβ€’ Advanced experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby and/or Shell\nβ€’ Strong understanding of web applications, web technologies, cloud services (as it relates to AWS)\nβ€’ Working knowledge of networking concepts: DNS, TCP/IP, Firewalls\nβ€’ General understanding of security concepts including: Authorization, authentication, Encryption techniquesΒ \nβ€’ System administration experience with Linux and Windows\nβ€’ Understanding and Experience with Configuration Management tools like Puppet, Chef or Ansible\nβ€’ Familiarity with a broad portfolio of AWS infrastructure resources (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC, Security Groups and Network ACLs)\nβ€’ Proficiency administering AWS resources using AWS Console and CLI\nβ€’ Understanding and Experience with Deployment and SDLC methodologies.\nβ€’ Understanding and Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Bamboo, Jenkins & or Hudson\nβ€’ Understanding and Experience with Build tools such as MSBuild, Ant, Maven or Gradle\nβ€’ Ability to isolate, troubleshoot and solve problems\nβ€’ Strong desire to learn and experiment with new thingsΒ \nβ€’ Strong desire to automate everything β€’ Experience with Federal compliance regulations\n\nPreferred: β€’ Advanced knowledge & hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud\nβ€’Familiarity with NIST 800-53 β€’Certifications: CISSP & AWS Solutions Architect\n\nAbout Raven Solutions\nRaven Solutions is one of a handful of firms today that combines the skills and expertise of software development, usability experience, high end visual design and information assurance under one roof.
