\nOpenLaw is a ConsenSys spoke that has built the first “smart” legal agreements. We’re using blockchain technology to reimagine the future of commerce and the $160 billion transactional legal market.\n\n\nAbout Us: \n\nAt its core, OpenLaw is a multi-module blockchain-based protocol and markup language to prepare, manage, and execute smart legal agreements. Using the OpenLaw protocol you can seamlessly execute a range of commercial transactions, store digital signatures on a blockchain, and execute smart contracts.\n\nWe use Scala as our main programming language along with JavaScript React for our frontend. Our backend uses LevelDB, and Ethereum to store, search, and verify data. We are product driven and committed to open source. That means our end goal is to the deliver the best and fastest product possible for our users and to do so in a community driven manner.\n\nOpenLaw is a remote-first organization with team members distributed across the globe, and we are committed to building both our team and our software in a thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable fashion.\n\nWe are currently looking for experienced full-stack engineers to join our team. This is a role for engineers who can collaborate with a team to architect and deliver feature upgrades and improvements. Engineering partners in this role have built features such as custom integrations and have implemented significant changes to the application architecture. You should be comfortable working in diverse development ecosystems and collaboratively within a rapidly growing team.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* Implement OpenLaw feature upgrades, improvements, and architectural builds \n\n* Collaborate with the team to ship major product builds \n\n* Provide thoughtful implementation estimates and  build functionality that is fast, scalable, and upholds sustainable development goals and principles\n\n* Keep our users happy by maintaining the software, troubleshooting and fixing bugs.\n\n\n\n\nDesired Skills:\n\n\n* 5+ years professional development experience\n\n* Experience working within a remote-first and globally distributed team \n\n* Experience in API Design (REST or other).\n\n* Strong familiarity with functional programming methodologies\n\n* Familiar with front-end languages like JavaScript with toolkits like React\n\n* Comfortable working on multiple codebases, with the ability to quickly understand new projects and tooling systems\n\n\n\n\nBonus:\n\n\n* Previous development experience using Scala, Akka, CQRS or Domain Driven Design\n\n* High-level understanding of public-private key encryption protocols\n\n* Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure)\n\n* An active interest or involvement with the broader open source community\n\n\n\n\nAt OpenLaw you must balance passion for the technology while knowing when and how to focus the conversation on our users. This role will be focused on improving design, user experience, and usability of our browser-based web application. This position is ideal for experienced product managers who have built a product from the ground up, who have a proven ability to build and grow a user base, and can establish practices to improve user experience. This role will interface across teams and be incorporated across feedback loops. Therefore, successful candidates must be highly research driven and communicative.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* Be the “voice of the user” in understanding, analyzing, and advocating for considered feature tradeoffs\n\n* Improve the experience for and increasing the usability of the OpenLaw application\n\n* Propose, manage, and measure KPIs for the quality and growth of the OpenLaw application and open source contributor ecosystem\n\n* Project management to effectively deliver on rapid iterative development cycles without compromising quality or engineering principles.\n\n\n\n\nDesired Skills:\n\n\n* Experience in Product Management within an asynchronous project development process on a fully remote and globally distributed team\n\n* Obsessive about excellent UX and strong experience working with wireframes, user stories, et al.\n\n* Track record of owning and driving growth on a polished client-facing technical product\n\n* You have both strong technical and business acumen, and experience turning growth principles into engineering deliverables\n\n* 4-7 years of professional work experience\n\n* Excel at project management, organization and communication\n\n\n\n\nAt OpenLaw you must balance passion for the technology while knowing when and how to focus the conversation on our users.
