Hi there!

Before you begin, make sure you’ve read our jobs page: Working with Lookback: who we are and where we're going.

We’re now looking to expand our team with a customer support and internal admin role at Lookback. You’d be supporting our customers (“customer success”), you’d be supporting our employees (“admin & office management”) and you’d be supporting our leadership team (“executive assistant”). So we’re looking for someone who’s really bright at understanding problems and being able to solve them on their own. For the team and for our customers. We’d look for you to be the spider in the web who makes things just work.

But we believe the basic foundation of you, if you were to join us, is that you’re great at providing value and executing on an evolving set of objectives. You’re compassionate, intelligent, and you have a warm personality – you’re able to identify unseen needs and address them before people notice.

Ideal set of experiences

Since this position is somewhat broad, it’s harder to say exactly what you should have worked with. But we’d like to see something like:

  • Past experience of being an office manager, executive assistant, or customer success/support representative at a B2B startup before.
  • Experience working in a remote team or in a team with remote employees.
  • Lots of experience in written communication.
  • Bonus: Having worked as a consultant or at an agency.

In terms of characteristics, we think you are something like this:

  • You like solving problems without creating new ones.
  • You’re excited about Lookback's mission of using technology to create more empathy.
  • You’ve got strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills (we do a lot of text communication).
  • You’re proactive; beyond reacting to the immediate problem, you think two steps ahead and identify root causes.
  • You’ll teach our customers how to help themselves with understanding and patience.
  • You’re humble, you like personal growth, and you listen well.
  • You choose a positive outlook on life.
  • You’re self-organized and driven.
  • You love traveling and are excited about Lookback’s quarterly offsites.
  • You believe technology has the ability to be a great force of good for humanity, and want to contribute to that movement.
  • You value introspection and emotions, and are striving to become more aware of the emotions of yourself and those around you.

More about the responsibilities of this role

We’ve now grown to the stage where a lot of team members are very busy and need more internal assistance in order to keep delivering at a high speed. But we can’t yet say exactly what things will be needed and when. Some things we know we’ll need:

  • Helping Henrik who works with finance and admin to go through his backlog of items, such as managing insurances, payroll, offices, employment agreements, expense reporting, and the like.
  • Servicing our customers with their questions about product, training, education and helping them grow in their ability to get a lot of value out of our product (especially larger tech companies in the Valley).
  • Servicing our leadership team with research, planning, booking, scheduling, calling, etc.
  • Helping our remote team (15 total) to make sure they’ve got what they need in terms of equipment (devices and computers), accounts and logins, subscriptions and licenses, insurances, offices, traveling, etc.
  • Helping plan, coordinate and run our quarterly offsites.

So as you can see, we’re looking for somebody pretty broad and you can be a part of defining the role. It will also change over time.

    More about Lookback, and compensation:

  • This is a full-time position, working from U.S or European timezones. If you’re in EU, we’d ask of you to work later in the day a few days per week, to overlap more with the U.S.
  • We offer competitive salary, stock options in a high-growth startup with lots of potential, great insurance for yourself and dependents, 30 days of paid time off plus national holidays.
  • We also offer paid travel and accommodation for three or more offsites per year (last time we went to Miami Beach 😎)
  • Our culture is based around empathy, personal growth and humbleness, ambition and excellence, and delivering great value to our customers. We see Lookback as a vehicle to be able to impact the world, and can’t wait for what’s ahead.
  • We are well-funded by tech investors from both the U.S and Europe (Spectrum28, Index Ventures, Lakestar).

We’d love to hear from you. To apply, shoot an email to omgworkwithus@lookback.io.

Hello -_-v.

To begin, make sure to read our jobs page about who we are and what it's like to work with us: https://lookback.io/jobs/

We’re looking to expand our distributed team with a skilled, experienced full-stack web developer. Someone who loves building great user experiences, innovative and reliable products as well as working with real-time media streaming. We’re looking for you who’s excited about the opportunity to work in a remote team and to build a product for some of the world’s most impactful tech companies (Facebook, Netflix, Spotify and thousands of others). Ideally, you’ve built many UIs, used many of the web frontend frameworks, but your focus is backend and making things work extremely well (without losing elegance or speed of innovation).

Ideal set of experiences

  • You’ve worked with building and maintaining large web apps in Meteor, React, Node.js, MongoDB or similar stacks for many years, preferably for a startup.
  • You’ve worked with WebRTC and real-time media streaming, mobile streaming and peer to peer.
  • You’ve got DevOps experience and have managed larger web services and REST APIs in production.
  • You've been part of a fully distributed startup team in the past, preferably from the early days all the way through to becoming a larger company.
  • You’re a vim user and prefer Spotify over any other music service (nah just kidding... or are we!?).

In terms of characteristics, we think you are something like this:

  • You’re excited about Lookback's mission of using technology to create more empathy.
  • You’ve got strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills (we do a lot of text communication).
  • You thrive in small teams with a lot of collaboration.

More about Lookback, the role, and compensation:

  • This is a full-time position, working from U.S or European timezones. If you’re in EU, we’d ask of you to work later in the day a few days per week, to overlap more with the U.S.
  • You’d be working primarily with Lookback’s Live technology (https://lookback.io/live) and maintaining and scaling our web app as well as various web services.
  • Working at Lookback means a lot of autonomy, and you’d have a lot of freedom and influence in terms of tech decisions and choosing the best way forward to get a job done.
  • Our web tech stack consists most of Meteor, some React and raw Node.js APIs. We also work with Sass (in-house), various HTML5 audio/video tech, Ansible, MongoDB, WebSockets, ES6 and some CoffeeScript, as well as various JS testing frameworks, like Mocha and Ava.
  • We offer competitive salary, stock options in a high-growth startup with lots of potential, 30 days of paid time off plus national holidays as well as great insurance for yourself and dependents (U.S only). We also offer paid travel and accommodation for three or more offsites per year (last time we went to Miami Beach

About Lookback

Lookback is a distributed tech company on a mission to help the world build better user experiences. We help companies understanding their customers’ emotions, experiences and interactions – not just their data and metrics. We make it easy to collect these experiences, as well as their feedback and bug reports, all in video.

We were working as Spotify’s lead developers when we started Lookback, because we needed it ourselves. Today we’re serving thousands of companies who are building some of the best user experiences in the world, including Facebook, Uber and Netflix. Come play an important role as the world is waking up to the power of a great UX.

About You

We’re looking for you, our Lead Product Designer. We’re a small team with big ambitions. We’re looking for you who’ll come in and play a defining role in our product’s design, user experience, growth and marketing.

We’re looking for hearts and skills. For passion and drive. We’re looking for the humble, who knows how to lead and to be led. We’re looking for you who can teach us things, but also be taught. We believe in personal growth, transparency, creativity and intuition, as well as results and achievements. You’re applying to us because you believe in Lookback and what we do, why we do it, and want to help get us there. We’ll consider you because you’re in it for the long term and want more than just another gig.

We’re primarily looking for you to work full time with us from Palo Alto or San Francisco, but we are open to consider outstanding individuals who’ll work from anywhere in the world. Having worked remotely in the past is a strong plus, and having worked at startups or larger tech companies in the past is a must.

Responsibilities and skills

We don’t really believe in titles (we think they restrict you into thinking inside the box, and hinder creativity and collaboration), so think of this role as an encompassing role in terms of all things design. UX and UI work, workflows, marketing, branding, user research, prototyping, animations, illustrations – we want all of it from you. We don’t expect you to have mastered it all, but being great to awesome in most of these areas is a must.

Preferably, you should have led a team of designers in the past, or have other managerial experience, because this team will grow.

We want to be able to rely on you to show us the way in how to design Lookback for both mobile and desktop platforms, designing for our enterprise customers as well as for startups. We’d like you to be a great team player, be positive, flexible, building bridges and lighting fires, and enjoy remote working.

Compensation

Equity in a quickly growing startup with massive potential, good salary, health/vision/dental insurances (U.S), work from anywhere, paid travel to multiple meetups annually, 30 days paid time off per year (plus public holidays), paid time to learn and improve your skills, a dynamic work environment, ability to work with multiple and changing functions and goals.
