\nBased in our High Wycombe office, or remotely (with access to High Wycombe) this is an opportunity for a front-end PHP developer to join the fun and sociable Web Development team at Focusrite. The successful applicant will be involved in designing new templates and frameworks for Drupal CMS, system documentation, bug fixing, researching and implementing new front-end technologies and driving continual improvement in all internal and customer-facing systems.\n\nThe Web Development team are responsible for the management and maintenance of high-profile multilingual websites. They serve the company by bringing to fruition global and territory-specific sales and marketing initiatives and identifying opportunity to grow brand and product awareness by utilising the latest technology. We encourage innovation and there will be opportunity to explore new software development technologies and techniques. Symfony stack with a React interface maybe? Node apps? Web Midi?\n\nThe Person\nThe role would suit someone with a passion for web development and the eagerness to further develop a commercial career in a sociable environment. The role requires someone with self-motivation and the ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. At any one time this person will have a combination of projects and smaller tasks.\n\nEssential Skills\n\n\n* At least 2-years' experience in a similar role\n\n* Good written English for system documentation\n\n* Good eye for design and layout\n\n\n\n\n\nThe following, ideally supported by an online portfolio and examples of application:\n\n\n* HTML\n\n* CSS / SCSS\n\n* JavaScript (jQuery)\n\n* PHP\n\n* Build Tools (NPM, Gulp, Grunt)\n\n\n\n\n\nAdvantageous Technical Skills:\n\n\n* Experience of Drupal or other PHP / MySQL-based CMS.\n\n* Understanding of Twig template engine\n\n* Experience of Node.js developments\n\n* Ability to build CMS themes and templates.\n\n* Version Control (Git)\n\n* Ability to create custom functionality for content management system, preferably Drupal.\n\n* Browser and device compatibility.\n\n* Experience in creation of test cases and testing.\n\n* Interest in accessibility and user experience.\n\n\n\n\n\nInvolvement In:\n\n\n* System documentation.\n\n* Bug fixing.\n\n* Driving continual improvement in all internal and customer facing systems.\n\n\n\n\nAbout us\n\nWe’ll be honest – Focusrite is a pretty great place to work. \nWe're looking for an outstanding software developer to join our software team. If you've used Launchpad or Circuit before, you'll know we love to innovate. We'd like you to work with us to specify, design and build exciting new Novation products. You'll need to quickly evaluate new technologies and contribute to team best practices. Most importantly, you'll write clear, high performance, well documented and maintainable code.\n\nYou'll also contribute to the maintenance of current products, comprising desktop software and high-level firmware for our Novation products.\n\nAn ideal candidate is likely to be:\n\n\n* A seasoned software developer, with experience of a variety of programming languages, technologies and operating systems, such as:\n\n* C++ (essential), Juce, Qt, network programming, multi-threading, macOS, iOS, Windows, Linux\n\n* Familiar with GUI development and what makes a clear design\n\n* Able to think abstractly from a high-level (architectures, design patterns, concurrency, API design) all the way down to low-level "C style" code (communication protocols, bits and bytes)\n\n* A computer science graduate or related education\n\n* Passionate about music and audio technology\n\n* Able to solve complex problems without compromising on quality\n\n* Able to clearly communicate technical designs verbally and in documentation\n\n\n\n\nTeam based in High Wycombe, flexible arrangements available including working days in the London office
