We’ll even send you off to attend cool technical conferences, all expenses paid. You can expect to learn a lot here, and at the same time you’ll give back to others.\n\nYour day to day responsibilities will include:\n\n\n* Maintaining customer systems, dealing with submitted tickets and responding to customer enquiries efficiently\n\n* Proactively handling problems before our customers even know about them\n\n* Identifying deficiencies in our infrastructure and fixing them\n\n* Mentoring your colleagues to help them expand their skills\n\n* Automating yourself out of the job\n\n* Improving existing systems and processes to better support our customers and your colleagues\n\n\n\n\nTo perform well in this role, you will have:\n\n\n* Good time management and task prioritisation skills\n\n* A methodical and principled approach to troubleshooting and problem diagnosis\n\n* The ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues\n\n* A strong self-motivation to learn new skills and technologies\n\n* Strong proficiency with at least one programming language\n\n* A solid understanding of security best-practices and theory\n\n* A strong desire to see constant improvement in yourself and the tools and processes you use\n\n* 2+ years of operational experience managing GNU/Linux server systems\n\n\n\n\nWe use these on a daily basis. The more you know, the better; the rest you’ll learn:\n\n\n* GNU/Linux: Debian, CentOS, RHEL\n\n* Web servers: nginx, Apache\n\n* DBMS: PostgreSQL, MySQL\n\n* Virtualisation: KVM\n\n* Configuration Management: Puppet, Ansible, Terraform\n\n* High Availability: Pacemaker, Corosync, DRBD\n\n* Networking: IPVS/ldirectord, netfilter, haproxy\n\n* Platforms: Amazon Web Services\n\n\n\n\nInterested yet?\n\nIf this sounds like you, get in touch.
