For this position, you can work in either our Reston, VA headquarters or remotely. Our technical staff is scattered across the U.S, so you'll need to be comfortable working remotely. We often use video conferencing tools (like Slack, Google Meet) to coordinate, as well as Jira for tasking, and Bitbucket for source control. We work in short sprints, and we'll count on you to provide estimates for tasks to be completed and delivered. We're looking to hire someone to start right away! Think you've got what it takes? Apply below!\n\n# Responsibilities\n * Use big data technologies, processing frameworks, and platforms to solve complex problems related to location\n* Build, improve, and maintain data pipelines that ingest billions of data points on a daily basis\n* Efficiently query data and provide data sets to help Sales and Client Success teams' with any data evaluation requests\n* Ensure high data quality through analysis, testing, and usage of machine learning algorithms \n\n# Requirements\n* BS in Computer Science preferred or relevant industry experience\n* 1+ years of Spark and Scala experience\n* Self-directed and self-motivated individuals comfortable working on a remote team \n* Strong curiosity about new technologies and a desire to always use the best tools for the job\n* Experience working with very large databases and batch processing datasets with hundreds of millions of records\n* Experience with Hadoop ecosystem, e.g. Spark, Hive, or Presto/Athena\n* Real-time streaming with Kinesis, Kafka or similar libraries\n* Experience with SQL based data architectures\n* 2+ years Linux experience\n* 2 years working with cloud services, ideally in AWS\n* Self-motivated learner who is willing to self-teach and can maintain a team-centered outlook\n* BONUS: Experience with Python, Machine Learning, and Apache Elasticsearch or Apache Solr\n* BONUS: GIS/Geospatial tools/analysis and any past experience with geolocation data \n\n#Location\n- πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈUS-only

You will have the opportunity to interact with driven, innovative developers working to push emerging products and processes to the market.\n\nAs a Back End Software Engineer, you will be implementing the Extract Load Transform pipeline, architecting the non-relational data store, and generally making data available for front end use by queries and requests from external systems.\n\nAs a Full Stack Developer, you will be building the components of our system that securely connect the front end interface with the and back end processing, improving system performance, assisting with data acquisition, and collaborating with teammates to drive modularization and stability across the entire architecture.\n\nExpectations\n\nXponential Works houses several startups side by side, in an open office environment.
