This position is open to candidates in South America.\n\n \nJob Description\n\nCandidly is looking for a seasoned engineer to join our engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a team leading and being a part of a team committed to autonomy, accountability, and ownership of various high-quality solutions built with modern technologies and best practices in mind.\n\nTo ensure success, you should have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of web application development, both from a technical (Frontend to Infrastructure) and non-technical (Product Discovery, through Delivery, to Customer Success) perspective. You should be able to evaluate needs, time limitations, and system limitations when conceptualizing solutions.\nKey Responsibilities \n\n\n* Implement and maintain services in Candidly's Backend PHP architecture\n\n* Troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domains\n\n* Suggest application architecture improvements and recommend process improvements\n\n* Champion changes to the team's tools and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the development team\n\n* Document processes for use by other application developers and to comply with regulations\n\n* Participate in business and technical planning\n\n* Write functional/technical specifications from the product requirements\n\n* Provide monitoring and guidance in application design and development to other staff\n\n* Provide thought leadership in designing and developing innovative integrated solutions\n\n\n\nRequired Skills and Experience\n\n\n* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written\n\n* Developing PHP code leveraging PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Phalcon, or Symfony\n\n* Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills\n\n* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment\n\n* Developing API RESTful Architectures\n\n* Gathering and maintaining data from internal and external APIs\n\n* Working as a part of a Lean/Agile engineering team, executing assigned project tasks within an established schedule\n\n* SQL database management and queries\n\n* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n\n* Self-motivated and able to independently identify and implement needed improvements\n\n* Able to work remotely and independently\n\n* Track record of developing complex software systems and the ability to explain the implementation details\n\n\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n\n\n* Automated testing using unit or integration tests\n\n* Comfortable with frequent incremental code testing and deployment\n\n* Previous startup experience\n\n* DevOps and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)\n\n* MySQL database administration\n\n* Docker experience\n\n* Python\n\n* AWS Tools (EC2, RDS, Lambdas)\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
