We have a mission

To become Europe’s leading open source agency. And we’re well on our way.

It’s not just technology that we think differently about, we're thinking about the future of work too. We’ve re-designed our company structure and how we work together.

This allows us build permanent multi-disciplinary teams that have long term, direct relationships with clients who want the very best.

A supportive and challenging workplace

We want to do great work on interesting projects with smart clients.

We believe people are intrinsically motivated to do great work - we work hard every day to create the best environment possible to do this in.

1. You know best

  • Permanent eight person teams: UX, design and development
  • Self-managing teams: decide how to deliver work themselves
  • Everyone presents their work to clients
  • Flat organisational structure: your team has a real voice in running the company

    2. Way more reasons than we have space here

We get it. We’re not like other agencies.

We don’t want to micro-manage your day. We know that you want to do great work.

We understand we have to get out of the way for that to happen.

StackShare helps developers discover and compare software tools. We’re building a platform for developer knowledge. From Airbnb to Dropbox, to individual developers and CTOs, StackShare has become the defacto place for companies and engineers to share the software they use and why. But we're just scratching the surface- we believe we have an opportunity to fundamentally change the way that software is built.

As Software Engineer, you will influence every aspect of the product from ideation to execution. Not only will you help shape the product moving forward, but you'll be joining a small founding team so you’ll help to shape the company.

You have experience building web applications with at least one year of experience using Ruby in a production environment. You have experience building APIs (and consuming them). You hate bureaucracies and want to work at an early stage company that has few processes. You’re comfortable taking the initiative and building things in a way that makes sense to you.

You’re comfortable working on something different every day as priorities shift. You enjoy shipping code and you believe new features should be treated as experiments and measured closely. You build with the following in mind: make it work ➤ make it right ➤ make it fast.

Bonus Points:

  • You’re a StackShare user (include your profile URL in your application).
  • You’re familiar with most of the tools in our stack (http://stackshare.io/stackshare).
  • You’re a tools geek; you sign up for new tools and services just to kick the tires and satisfy your curiosity.

*We are looking for a Dutch* front-end developer, as our application is in Dutch. That's why the rest of this description is also in Dutch.

Seeq is a data analytics startup. What makes us different is that we’re going after a big market that’s often overlooked by tech companies: industrial process data. Think pharmaceutical manufacturers, wind farms, and energy companies with tons of equipment and sensors. We’re applying a unique mix of technologies and a deep understanding of the problems faced by these industries to build and refine a product that's a huge leap over existing tools and methodologies.

Our company is 100% remote. You can work anywhere in the US and Canada (we're staying in compatible timezones for now). We use a variety of collaboration tools, like Sococo and Slack, which makes us feel like we’re in the same building together.

You are constantly finding ways to perfect your craft, be a better teammate, and come up with cool stuff.

We're a Norwegian company building a single page business application that consists of various modules on a RESTful API. We're looking for a methodical and sharp Angular frontend developer.

You'll be working in a team of 10+ remote developers organizing the work (in English) through Slack and our own breed of Scrum/Kanban using ScrumDo. We have been digital nomads for years, and know how it is. The core of the team consists of Norwegians and Brazilians, located in Brazil.

Tools we use and that you should be or make yourself familiar with:

  • Protractor (E2E testing)
  • Karma (unit testing)
  • Gulp
  • NodeJs
  • Bower
  • Git/GitHub/SourceTree
  • Jenkins (CI)
  • Vagrant (local environment)
  • PHPStorm (IDE)

You should have a few years' experience working in a team of 4+ devs. We require experience with big single page applications with advanced routing and high standards for testing your own code. Our wiki explains the code standards that you should follow. The developer we are looking for must have a strong interest in learning new technologies and reading up on best practices.

We base the payment purely on skills and estimated productivity, not experience or university degrees. We offer a 12 months' renewable contract and enough work for years to come if you like it.

Our team is very agile without the AGILE/SCRUM bullshit. Meaning we like to get things done fast and we move fast without too much process overhead. If you're looking for just a salary interim job to get you from point A to B with just enough bullshit to convince us so we think you are working, then don't bother calling us.

You should be able to write performant custom code and attach UI elements to your code to make things look decent. If you're awesome then you would create something awesome, but if creating the prettiest UI is not your forte, don't worry, we got plenty UI eyes on our team to enhance your work. We don't like to micro manage but we want you to feel like you're part of the team, so daily meetups are necessary to showoff, discuss, and digest.

We could list a bunch of BS skill sets and education requirements. But we don't work like that. If you got the chops then your work should show it. We expect to see some real applicable work samples you have done and solid references.

For those of you who like lists here goes:

AngularJS
Javascript
UI/UX (meaning you don't format shit with just a bunch of styleless tables)
CSS3
HTML5
GIT
REST API Integration

We're looking for an AngularJS expert, not someone who "have used it in the past". You can be anywhere in the world, all we require is that you're damn good at your job. You should love going that extra mile to get that one feature just perfect.

Previous experience with Firebase is a plus. Any experience working with AngularJS in a rails environment would also help, but we're not looking for a rails developer.

The position come with lots of freedom and you can choose your own working hours. You will be payed by the amount of hours you work.

Front End Javascript is the Wild West, full of visionaries, trolls, and rival gangs trying to off each other one subtweet and Hacker News flame war at a time.  You've flipped the table in disgust and switched to Typescript.  You've thrown your lot in with Google and figure even though Angular 2 is still in Beta, that it's the safest bet out there.  We agree with you.

Ever dreamed of disrupting an entire industry?

Join ARGO and change the way companies participate in international trade!

Have you ever wondered how Western companies sell goods to countries such as China or Tansania for hundred thousands of Euros without fear of never being paid? We help them do it!

ARGO is building a new way to take the risk of non-payment out of international trade transactions. Thus, making global transactions as easy as PayPal did for consumers to buy in the dangerous world wide web.

We have just started on our big vision! We are backed by one of the best European VCs, we have a great complimentary management team and are right in the middle of building our first product.

But now its time for us to get help. We are looking for experienced Javascript wizards that share our vision of creating a big disruption and want to build something exciting and fresh from the ground up!

As core member of our frontend team, you will build...

  • an AngularJS app based upon our internally developed REST API

  • a broad test coverage to ensure service availability

Both in Berlin as well as in a remote position, we offer you...

  • a small team of super smart and driven people that believe in changing things to the better

  • an informal working atmosphere based upon direct communication and feedback with no bureaucracy or unnecessary disturbance: we believe in Slack, limited meetings and fast honest talk

  • direct influence on anything you build: We know what we want to do, but if you know a better solution, we will go your way!

  • an environment to grow: learn from your team, help others around you getting better every day, visit conferences, get and give feedback regularly and understand more than just the technical side of our business

  • lots of additional perks such as awesome team events, regular team lunches and dinners, free of choice hardware,...

We hope to find in you...

  • experience in Javascript web development proven by contribution to at least one or two projects

  • a passionate developer that loves to code

  • a team player that can talk code and English

  • sufficient Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 and test-driven development skills

We are super excited to hear from you!

you CAN apply for this job if you have your OWN TEAM, or you're an INDIVIDUAL.

Remote work is okay, relocation is considered on a case-by-case basis.

We're hiring TWO to FIVE DEVELOPERS for a 3-6 month contract position.

We'll be creating the UX for bitcoin casinos which will hopefully stand for years to come and reach an audience of millions around the globe.

We need sharp minds who are not afraid to dive in for long coding sessions, get their hands dirty experimenting, and design an experience for customers that looks and feels like the future.

We'll be migrating to TypeScript and rewriting our Angular codebase, as well as re-connecting new game APIs in the front and back end.

We have selected CREATEJS, to craft our game experiences, with siimpler to reset our CSS and install the standard boilerplate, and we have selected SEMANTIC-UI.com as our front-end framework of choice.

The projects we are working on:

1. New front-end for our customers, to a design spec.

2. Back office upgrades to spec.

3. MAHJONG and BACKGAMMON; multiplayer server w/mahjong game logic included. handles disconnects, etc. etc.

4. 'Gamification', a unified auth provider that tracks achievements, challenges, XP, level-ups, etc. across all games, including 3rd party and poker.

5. Integration micro-services cluster, takes our current monolith backend NODE APP and busts it up into microservices per-game or per-integration. This includes further integration with the existing providers, they have parts of their API for bonuses and campaigns/promos that we have not accessed yet. Bitcoin Exchange/Shapeshift integration included.

6. LOTTERY Mobile app and services surrounding ticket tracking and payouts for the two US-based and 1 Europe-based lotteries.

7. TEAM COLLAB application, communication, email, document collaboration, customer-service training, project and task management, using METEOR as a tool. This will establish workflows and solve some challenges. We will experiment with our waterfall-based workflow, talk about the project timelines in abstract terms, establish terminology, GIT and CI workflow.

Open Positions: if you are ANY or ALL of these people, contact us!

1. a real designer, someone who knows what looks good, can produce assets for graphics, illustrations etc, and design pages properly, as well as do UX testing later in the dev cycle. Helps with animation planning, storyboards, user visit lifecycle

2. full-stack developer who writes Angular and Typescript on the front-end and Node/Meteor/TypeScript on the backend. Implements most of the features, models, services etc. heavy lifting, not a designer in any sense, writes code to documented specs which he helps create.

3. HTML5 animator, who can translate JSON data and game concepts into things like graphs, charts, dice animations, card animations. In addition, he writes all the markup for the site, and all the CSS. So, he's into D3, CreateJS and Canvas, but also knows how to write good form validation and create UIs to spec.

4. UX Quality Assurance analyst, this person works very closely with the team members to make sure that the customer is well represented throughout the development cycle, and guarantees that code is human-tested and machine-tested. Probably a full-stack developer but not necessarily going to write a lot of code, since his job is primarily to decide which tests to write and make sure they get written by whoever.

5. Graphic Artist with HTML5/CSS experience, a person who can do things like create banner ads, curate stock photos used in the marketing side, and provide assistance to #1 or #3 in terms of execution of graphics, animations. Proficient in Adobe After Effects. Has an eye for color, spacing, things of this nature. Assists #5 in testing.

Benefits

Work with a company that is on the cutting edge of BITCOIN GAMING WEB APPS. Work with no-nonsense people who are all about getting work DONE. Secure your future forever...if you can work and you want a job, you'll have one with us for years to come.

Weaveup

AngularJS Frontend Engineer

Weaveup

1yr

Apply

Come work at WeaveUp - a company that is bringing the power of technology to the world of fabric and design! We’re looking for self-motivated people who take a great deal of pride of ownership in their work, and are driven to build something amazing. Our roots are from one of the best fabric companies in the world, and our destiny is to be an amazing technology company. We’re looking for good developers and great people, not brogrammers, rock stars or ninjas (Note: If you are not a mercenary in feudal Japan, you are not a ninja). We are based in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina, but open to working with great people wherever we can find them.

WeaveUp is seeking an experienced frontend-focused AngularJS developer to build and improve our web experience, and to be a foundational member of our company. Our technology stack is an Angular frontend talking to a Rails API backend, and you’ll be focusing on making the web side fast, performant and delightful!

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be helping us bring our development in-house - our product has been around two years, and was developed by a North Carolina consulting operation. They have given us a great start, now it’s time for us to take it and run with it. We’ll be continuing to grow our web experience to support new uses of WeaveUp, and to add new ways for our customers to express themselves in the physical world.

Things That Are Pretty Important To Us

  • Experience with AngularJS, preferably Angular version 1.
  • An ability to build and improve a REST/JSON API client (spoiler alert: one built in Angular).
  • Big ideas and a tiny ego - come in with your best ideas, but don’t take it personally if another idea is better.
  • A customer-first focus, and a willingness to step and hustle to make us a success. There is no “that’s not my job” at WeaveUp.
  • An ability to build delightful customer-facing interfaces that are fast and fun.
  • A high degree of pragmatism about the difference between “good” and “perfect,” with a bias toward shipping.
  • Testing experience to make the web portion of our application as rock-solid as it can be.

Things That Would Be Nice To Have

  • Experience or interest in Ruby and Rails, for that full-stack flavor.
  • Ability to debug API responses and help us find errors on the back end.
  • A willingness to make hair-extension jokes when people ask you what we do.
  • Enough DevOps to understand how a Rails app runs and what might break.
  • Knowledge about image processing, color matching and image compositing.
  • Ideas about caching and UI speed.
  • Enough of a design eye that you can help build a wonderful user experience.

    Why WeaveUp?

  • Work on a product that has demonstrated value for customers, and help us take it to the next level!
  • A culture that values productivity, accountability and communication over politics, capital-P Process and micromanagement.
  • Seriously, we’ll treat you like an actual adult.
  • A collaborative environment where you’re encouraged to think and contribute outside of your prescribed role.
  • Management that is committed to supporting you as a person and a professional, and to building a diverse and respectful team that makes all of us stronger.
  • Take-it-when-you-need-it vacation policy and work-location flexibility.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, and the opportunity to get in early on an exciting product.

WeaveUp, Inc. is a vibrant design marketplace that encourages users to customize designs with our groundbreaking rendering technologies, and then order fabric and home décor products to create the perfect look for their apartment, home or office. Founded by proven leaders in the textile industry, WeaveUp features an extensive library of crowd-sourced designs from artists, designers and users. WeaveUp’s products are digitally printed and proudly made-to-order in the U.S.A.

You're a unicorn, meaning that you're also comfortable working with Ruby on Rails (huge plus, but not required!)

I’m hiring an experienced angular developer who will have a big impact in my tiny company. I’d like to hire you if you:

  • Love JavaScript (ES6+) and the MEAN stack
  • Have completed multiple angular projects and are interested in angular 2.0
  • Have a computer science degree
  • Want to work from home
  • And we get along

My company is called Custody X Change. I sell software that creates child custody schedules and parenting plans. I’ve been working on the business since 2004. The software is currently Windows-only desktop software; this web-version expands on the features considerably.

This new product will make it easy for families to communicate about custody scheduling, children’s activities, and shared expenses. It will reduce a lot of conflict. And it will save people a ton of money in legal fees.

I had a software consultancy firm work on it for a year and a half. We got the designs completed, with a really great user interface. We got most of the design translated into SCSS. We got a little bit of angular front-end / back-end code written. (The code is light on the node side -- we’re putting the computation and logic on the front-end.)

I’m passionate about making a product that’s intuitive. Once we get to a beta release, we’ll watch real people use the software so we know how to improve it. My goal is to have a product that doesn’t frustrate people, but that helps people with their child custody situations.

After we’ve made an awesome product that we know people love, we’ll want to port the app to angular 2.0 and build hybrid apps. We want the current angular 1.x development to keep 2.0 in mind so we can minimize rework.

If you’re interested, email me your resume and I’ll get back to you right away; I’m Ben Coltrin at Gmail dot com

    Thanks.

    -Ben

P.S. I want you to be happy working for me. I’ll pay you a decent salary and you can work normal hours. I care about results, not bureaucracy.

Trail

Trail is a task management app for retail and hospitality businesses. We bring UX and engineering expertise to an industry hungry for both. We help store managers and head office teams get their jobs done more easily. With Trail, stores spend less time on admin, and more time doing what counts - being with their customers.

Within our first year we’ve raised significant seed capital and signed companies such as Itsu and Enterprise Inns. With a second round of fundraising underway, and more high street restaurants set to join, we’re showing no signs of stopping.

The Role

Are you looking for a role that can provide real opportunities and real technical challenges at a company you can help shape? Over the next twelve months we’ll be extending our product into new businesses, regions and devices. We’ll also be growing the user base ten fold. We’re looking for a full stack engineer to help do this. Somebody driven to develop the way we work, as well as the software we write.

How We Work

Trail works with a modern stack and tools like Heroku, Codeship, AWS, Postgres, React, JIRA and Slack. We know that TDD, automated end-to-end testing, peer reviews, and an agile workflow result in awesome products and happy customers. We also like solving interesting problems like Multi-platform delivery, Third-party integrations, Highly performant UIs and data extraction & transformation.

Our Chambéry office is located just several miles away from the world’s best ski resorts (Courchevel, Meribel, Val d’Isère...) and 15 minutes from the biggest lake in France.

The area is well connected, with 2 international airports (Lyon and Geneva) at 1h drive from the office.

Groove is looking for a very senior full-stack developer to help us accelerate our pursuit of building the best damn help desk software on the planet.

You may have heard of us from our Journey to $500K blog (in fact, we’d prefer if you have, or have at least read it before applying), or from seeing us in places like TheNextWeb, KISSmetrics, Buffer, Copyblogger, Hacker News or elsewhere around the web.

This gig is not for the unseasoned. We need someone who’s been in the trenches and helped grow b2b SaaS companies; someone who's both a coder and a leader, who can hack with the best of them, and has an appreciation for good design and usability. Someone with the fire to help us execute on our product roadmap and move us along on our journey to 10MM in ARR.

We’ve got a strong team of developers working on making our app simpler, stronger and better. We’ve put the time into talking with our customers and hitting product/market fit, and now it’s time to step on the gas.

From the technical side, here’s what you’ll need to know:

  • Javascript (with and without jQuery)
  • Coffeescript (up for debate)
  • EMCA5 (and making IE place nice)
  • CSS3 (especially animations)
  • Git (with a team)
  • Backbone (or similar for perspective)
  • React (or Angular)

Experience working remotely is the only other requirement. You’ll be joining a completely remote team that knows how hackers work best (ideally you’d be in proximity to us in Boston or RI, but that’s definitely not a requirement). Meetings are kept to a minimum and everyone is left to get things done.

The pay for this position is very competitive, and will include meaningful equity for the right candidate.

If you’ve helped a fast-moving team win before and are ready to do it again, we want you on board. Our work impacts thousands of businesses around the globe, and we have our sights (very publicly) set on massive growth goals. If you think you can help us get there, email our CEO at alex@groovehq.com.

About Us

We are an innovative IT startup looking to fundamentally change restaurant experience using cutting edge solutions. We are an exceptionally motivated team of technologists, who have taken significant sacrifices to make our project a reality. Despite being a small team we already spent 4 man-years on development from complete greenfield and placed solid foundations for our system. We are working hard to transform a great idea into reality and we need help from more people like us.

About You

You are a seasoned hands-on technologist, you understand what it means to build and operate mission critical IT and have relevant experience to show for it. You enjoy building complex systems that simplify users' everyday life. You have contributed to either open source or private IT projects in your spare time and added substantial value to them.

While you are really good at what you do, you don't just want to work for a large faceless corporation (even if they are doing cool things). Aside from a well paid job, you want to build something great that you also have ownership of. You enjoy having the freedom to act and to take decisions but you also take responsibility for the outcome. You get inspired and you put your full energy behind an idea you believe in. You like having skin in the game.

You have your areas of expertise but you also have the basic knowledge to work on any part of a system. You live and breathe automated testing and automated deployment. Agile work (sprints, branches, code reviews, continuous integration) is how you work. You have a "can do" attitude. Your work is not done until it's documented. You refactor as you go and fix the issues you spot.

About the Role

You will be working closely with our core team of technologists adding features and making changes to our system. You will drive the execution to the end of the mini-projects you take on. You will be involved in every aspect of the project and your contributions will be key to making it a success.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a real startup in a very narrow time window where a large chunk of the work is under way and the go-live is very close. Our employees work for a salary, our partners work for equity. If you prove your worth as a partner you will be compensated just like the founders from a special pool of equity with a 5 year dilution protection which is really valuable when large scale funding is raised.

Given the compensation scheme for partners, there are broadly two ways you can contribute:

  • cautious but dedicated: you keep your job but you give up your free time and work with us at least 15 hours per week
  • all in: you quit your job, go into financial survival mode (or into your savings) and work full-time with us

We currently have people doing both. Anyone who does the latter receives a basic salary but definitely not a commercial rate. The kind of drive and motivation we want cannot be bought with money anyway. Needless to say that the more you contribute, the larger share of the equity pool you will get. The location preference is for London but you can work from anywhere in the world.

Experience in following helps but we expect you to be able to learn new technologies very quickly.

  • NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
  • multi-instance RESTful Java backends
  • JavaScript and AngularJS
  • hardware interaction on Android devices (NFC, GPS, gyro, battery, etc ...)
  • Andorid OS customization, especially for non-Nexus devices
  • networking on Linux, particularly IPsec VPN tunnels and SSL certificate based access
  • infrastructure automation and management on Amazon Web Services

Experience that will get you bonus points:

    Awesomeness trumps all other requirements.
