I'm a technical recruiter with extensive remote hiring experience at global scale. The day I realized that helping people is what I like to do was the day I hung up my developer hat and started my post-technical career.

I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and dreams, and about driving a more diverse, inclusive workplace. I’ve worked on that as a people leader and as an agency recruiter, and at Automattic as our first Hiring Experience Wrangler.

At Automattic, I optimized first and foremost for candidate experience. I improved our time to first contact by 1200% – a level we maintained while our candidate volume increased eightfold – while the percentage of candidates who report a more favorable impression of Automattic after our recruitment process more than doubled. 2019 saw a 50% increase in engineers hired over 2018.

I also volunteer with Ruby Australia, a nonprofit whose mission is to build the Australian Ruby community, and I have helped organize events like RubyConf and RailsCamp.
