Hi, I’m Dani, an entrepreneur, and a tech author & speaker.\n\nAlong with my business partner James, we’ve been on a mission to change the way people buy and sell online for over 8 years. We started Saily, the first app to buy & sell used stuff in 2012. We grew it to 500,000+ users before joining Mercari, the giant mobile marketplace. There we led Product & Growth and IPO’ed in 2018. Six months ago, we built Flyp, an app that connects small businesses to professional sellers who sell their clothing inventory for them. Pros handle pricing, listing, negotiating with buyers, packing and shipping each item, then splitting profits.\n\nWe closed our investment round, and are growing our team. We’re looking to hire our first full-time Android engineer to build our Android (Kotlin) app. We value attitude over skills. We’re looking for someone to treat this startup as their own, have opinions, be involved in decision making, have a hacker mindset, and be result-driven. Although we’re a remote-first startup, we make sure to have overlapping hours across the team to boost productivity.\n\nWe have a dedicated iOS & API engineers, and our iOS app has been on the App Store for over 9 months now, with a long roadmap ready for execution.\nThe engineer will be solely responsible for building and maintain our app (with the same features as our iOS app, and using native Android design). \n\n\nPlease reach out directly to me at [email protected] \n\n#Salary\n$40,000 — $50,000\n\n\n#Location\nEurope & Middle East

In order to lead this department, you will need to be able to walk in their shoes and understand how well enough to guide, facilitate, advice, and validate. You are not expected to code or do hands-on engineering. We need you to be working in the weeks and months ahead, to see where we are going, what the risks are, and how we can get there. To do this, you will need to a strong technical background.\n\n\n\n**Servant leader.**\n\nYour philosophy of leadership aligns to the servant leader style. You know that the right set of metrics is your compass, helping everyone to know if we are on track.\n\n\n\n**Stellar communication skills.**\n\nYou present complex information to audiences ranging from cross-functional leads to executives and leave them informed and inspired.\n\n\n\n**Operations and performance maximizer.**\n\nThrough the years, you've refined your operational approach to maximize performance and excellence. You have an eye for identifying and removing friction from the engineering process (e.g. developing and implementing internal service tooling to automate processes).\n\n\n\n**Tune and refine, rather than redesign.**\n\nYou are agile, building on top of what exists and is already working well. You tune and refine, adapting for your new company, organizational design, department, and teams. You know that big sweeping changes are disruptive and costly. You opt to take baby steps.\n\n\n\n**Champion of continuous learning and improvement.**\n\nYou advocate and champion continuous learning and improvement. You see mistakes and missteps as opportunities to learn, improve, and grow. You encourage everyone around you to embrace these principles as part of your strategy to achieve results and better serve our customers.\n\n\n\n**Being Yourself.**\n\nThe WP Media team is diverse and composed of people from all over the world. You know the difference between PageSpeed score and page load time. If you don’t know, we’ll teach you.\n\n\n\n**Love for cats or Corgis!** 😸🐶\n\nWhat would our working days be without our four-legged friends?\n\n\n## What Else You Should Know About Our Company: WP Media\nFounded in 2014 in the beautiful Lyon, France, [WP Media](http://wp-media.me/) is an equal opportunity employer with a distributed team of +35 teammates living around the world.\n\n![team](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/dCw_iuI2e-egWuXv1GN3y0qYTsEfgCSHIpuMNUXu5aO8C7w19nq4_wZXCNo9aAIMYPYiLeIeIHgZUzF9EwZeGFWNKn9WrTUR384r32GZP3TReiR4IRoM-8tiR5Nrido3VNhQRgRy)\n\n## Do We Share the Same Values?\n\n**Mutual respect**, **collaboration**, and **inclusivity**.\n\nThese are the fundamental values that support our life as a team.\n\n\n**Healthy balance between work and private life.**\n\nWe encourage our employees to enjoy their family and their hobbies with flexible working hours and *minimum* vacation policy (you should take a minimum of 5 weeks per year: really, we don’t count them!).\n\n![work](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/nsGMT7X35n4n-ZjLV9p5tX-INQBWGBf-rf-35is9TAbkxCv8OE6rPHK7URgKKtUpo-98hJAOw3oYtvBOynkzQCZWC6lreTw5wNnQVTTyjfMo_VzzgdrpfuMNfJTSgdSsRz1prFq1)\n\n**We care about the work you do, not about the hours you sit at your desk.**\n\nYou can organize your working day with flexible working hours. VertiStudio is a distributed [team](https://themeisle.com/about-us/) of more than 20 people all over the world ( Romania, Poland, Greece, Portugal & more), together we run a [profitable](https://www.romanian-companies.eu/vertigo-studio-srl-29109287/) and bootstrapped business for more than 9 years. \n\nWe’re not serial entrepreneurs and we don’t think we are the biggest, brightest developers tackling the biggest technical challenges on the planet. \n\nBut we think companies have unique DNA; VertiStudio is our means to express ourselves in our professional lives. \n\nWhat makes us different?\n\nIt’s not a product, a methodology, or a one-page manifesto.\n\nIt’s through hundreds of little things that we’re different. \n\n**What will you be working on?**\n\nIt depends on your interests & experience. \n\nWe have 3 major projects: [Neve](https://themeisle.com/themes/neve/), [Optimole](https://optimole.com/) & [our own sites](https://vertistudio.com/#vertistudio-portfolio),  our products are being used by around 1 million people & our content sites reach half a million people every month. You will be the technical lead for one of these major projects. \n\nHow will you get there?\n\nWe’d start with a short 2-week trial when you’ll identify some things that can be improved and start improving them immediately.\n\nSee, we’re looking for someone who can teach us something & take our team on the next technical level.\n\n**What kind of people thrive here?**\n\nWhen I’m thinking about technical people, the ones that thrive are those that don’t like doing the same thing twice. \n\nThey’re independent. They like to get to the bottom of the problem. They use the latest technologies, but they’re realistic enough to figure out how it fits the project.\n\nTake this example: https://github.com/Codeinwp/neve/issues/1989 \n\nOr the time an intern used a small internal hackathon as an opportunity to learn a new programming language by asking “can the blocks be made in exotic programming languages like PureScript, F# with Fable or Elm?”\n\nFor this particular role, you’ll need to understand WordPress really really well, have experience in leading a small team or at least running a major project on your own & have strong PHP & Javascript knowledge.\n\n**How to apply?**\n\nUse the form below and clearly state in a written or video form : \n\n* Your experience with WordPress development.\n\n* What is your favorite code performance tweak & show us some code you’ve written that you’re proud of if possible\n\n* Tell us a bit about yourself and why you should be considered.\n\n* Profile links with code samples (GitHub, GitLab, WordPress.org, etc).\n\n* Other profile links if available (Your website, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc).\n\n* A technical improvement that you’ll do on https://github.com/Codeinwp/neve\n\n* For the input field asking if you agree, the answer is **themeisle**. Unfortunately 90% of the people doesn't seem to read this.\n\nPlease take your time to go through those and answer carefully, we don’t have a long interview process, nor any technical tests per se, we’ll need those answers and references to go through them and figure out your technical skills.\n\nNote: I won’t be able to individually respond to all applications, if you’re a match we’ll reach out.\n\nWhat does the process look like?\n\nIf you seem to be the right person, I will reach out to you for a quick 30’ meeting.  I would like to learn more about what you are looking for and answer your questions, alternatively, we can do this via text as well. \n\nIf we agree to move forward, then the next step would be a chat with [Marius](https://github.com/selul), our CTO, about the technical work you’ve done and what you would like to do.\n\nIf this goes well, we’d move into the 2-week paid trial to see how things would work.\n\nIf this goes well, you’re hired. \n\n#Salary\n$60,000 — $120,000\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

Therefore, extensive experience with these or at least other web languages (like JavaScript, Dart, etc.) is required.\n\n* You have experience in test-driven development. We work extensively with Jest to ensure we have 100% test coverage throughout.\n\n* You have very good knowledge of Git, development workflow automation and CI (Github Actions, Gitlab CI, Travis, Jenkins, CircleCI...). Continuous Delivery is in our DNA.\n\n* You know how to use Docker for local development. Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm clients is a plus.\n\n* Basic experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, Heroku, or Azure is a plus.\n\n* You have an appreciation for great user experience as much as for awesome tech architecture.\n\n* You are great at communicating with people, motivating everyone, and getting the whole team on the same page.\n\n* Fluency in English, German is a plus.\n\n* The most important one: willingness to learn. We are constantly learning new things and we enjoy it a lot. As we use many new technologies, we don't expect to find people experienced in all of them. If you are excited about our tech-stack and you think you are a fast learner, do not hesitate to apply even if you are not trained in something we described before!\n\n\n\n\nWhat we offer\n\n\n* A meaningful job. If helping a company sell shoes or deliver more food doesn’t satisfy you, we have something in common. Digitizing mental health services is not easy, but when it works it is incredibly meaningful. A carefully crafted balance between digital health startup (flat hierarchies, a self-dependent way of working, clear-cut communication, speed) and family-owned hospital group (bold decision making, medical depth, regulatory framework).\n\n* Remote work. And if you are fed up with working from home, we have open-space offices in Berlin Kreuzkölln and Munich Schwabing with lovely colleagues from different domains, backgrounds, and cultures. We only accept applications from candidates who reside or want to reside in Germany.\n\n\n\n\nDear recruitment agencies: MindDoc does not accept agency CVs. Please do not forward CVs to MindDoc employees or any other organization location.

**Practical details**\n\n* *Title:* Analyst / Associate\n* *Experience:* straight out of university up to 3 years of work experience\n* *Location:* we have always been a remote fund. Any location in Europe works\n* *Work hours:* we don’t do work hours. We look at your contribution\n* *Compensation:* TBD. After first 18 months there is the opportunity to get carried interest\n* *How to apply:* fill out this Typeform *bit.ly/JoinhenQ* before < insert date to create some urgency >\n* *Start date:* Q1 2021\n\n**About henQ**\n\nhenQ is an early stage, Europe focused B2B software VC. Among our most notable investments are Mendix, Sendcloud, Mews, Zivver, Orderchamp and Stravito. We are currently investing from our 4th fund, which is €80M in size. \n\nOur mission is to be the first VC any European B2B software company meets. We get excited by (very) early-stage businesses, where the business mainly consists of the Founders and a handful employees. We invest in companies that have a sellable product and - in some cases but not necessarily - some initial revenues. \n\n**About The Role & Your Responsibilities**\n\nhenQ is hiring an Analyst / Associate to help us further improve our deal sourcing and analysis abilities, as well as the depth of our portfolio support. To become that, we want to invest in at least one future B2B software leader (a company with annual revenues of >€100M & >1,000 employees in >10 countries) each year. We want to be able to attribute at least one of those to your personal sourcing & selecting abilities in the next four years.\n\n**What you can expect from us**\n* Join one of the fastest rising B2B Software VC’s in Europe;\n* Be part of the next Mendix, Adyen, Backbase, Zivver, UIpath, Mews, Celonis, Sendcloud;\n* Play a substantial role in our success rather than being a cog in the wheel;\n* Be productive in your own way and on your own time schedule;\n* A never ending stream of two-way feedback to improve both yourself as well as everyone you work with;\n* Work with and learn from VC’s who have been successful at venture investing for 15 years;\n* Get more carried interest much earlier than at any other fund, if you prove stellar performance in the first 18 months;\n* Unlimited vacation days. \n\n#Salary\n$45,000 — $67,500\n\n\n#Location\n🇪🇺 EU-only

# Catenda\nCatenda is a Norwegian scale-up company with a global ambition to make the construction industry data-driven, with less waste and greater transparency along the way.\n\nOur company values are: **Openness** and **Quality**.\n\nWe believe in open standards for all our customer data to achieve interoperability between applications, from inception, through design and construction onto the maintenance of a building. Another core belief is that our customers should have full control over their data: all data that goes in, can also be exported out.\n\nWe value quality of the code and the product by working as a tight and effective distributed development team, preferably asynchronously, often sharing screens to collaborate. Catenda has offices in Oslo and Bergen, composed by an international team of 10+ nationalities working remotely across the EU.\n\nOur solution, **Bimsync**, is a cloud-based collaboration platform, consisting of a web application, a mobile application and our APIs. Many companies across the world are using our products to build better airports, hospitals, stadiums, homes and roads.\n\nOur technology stack runs 100% on AWS, using the most appropriate technology for the problem at hand. Our backend is mostly in Java and frontend in Javascript, using React and React Native for our mobile app (iOS and Android).\n\n# Role\nWe are looking for a passionate React Native Engineer that wants to own and help shape our mobile application for the construction site. The main responsibility for this role is to produce high quality code that creates pixel perfect UIs according to design specs.\n\nIn this role you will be working as part of a small and highly effective 100% remote team, consisting of a tech lead, product owner and designer.\n\nAs the main developer in the team, you will be part of all major technical decisions, creating new features for the mobile app and participating in the release process on the app stores, including QA.\n\n# What we are looking for\nWe believe in a growing and learning mindset, where people will be up to face a new challenge and learn a new technology when needed. Thus, having the right skills and a positive attitude to learning is more important for us than the degree. A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject is important, as we value an understanding of the fundamentals, but it’s not a prerequisite.\n\nWe define ourselves as an agile company, so being open for feedback and adapting to change is core to being a good fit to our team. Our company's working language is English, so we expect all candidates to effectively communicate (written and spoken).\n\nYou should have a good understanding of web technologies and the different challenges of mobile development, having previously developed mobile applications available in the app stores. We expect a strong intimacy with JavaScript, as our application runs in React Native, so previous experience on that stack is a plus. Another important point is having familiarity with REST APIs, with a bonus of being willing to get your hands dirty also on improving backend APIs when needed. At last, some previous experience of iOS and Android native toolchains would be great. \n\n# What we offer\nYou will be part of an amazing journey to transform the construction industry with a bold and caring team. Along this path, we will challenge each other, have difficult open conversations and develop, as we learn.\n\nIn addition to the above, we will also take care of you and provide you with the right challenges for growth. Some of our benefits:\n* Paid time off (25 vacation days per year)\n* Flexible working hours\n* Full remote possible\n* Company gatherings twice a year (in person when possible again)\n\n# Location\nEU\n\n \n\n#Salary\n$50,000 — $100,000\n\n\n#Location\nEU

Over a million designers use Sketch to transform their ideas into incredible products, every day. Would you like to join us and help take the infrastructure that supports this leading design tool to the next level? We're looking to expand our team with a full-time **Site Reliability Engineer**.\n\nAt Sketch, we work with a unique technology blend: a cloud platform and macOS and iOS applications. Our cloud stack is based on a mix of serverless and traditional server applications built on Elixir and Go, along with other cloud services like RDS PostgreSQL, S3, SQS, ... Most pieces are deployed on AWS ECS and automated through Terraform; we use Chef for configuration management where it's needed. Our SRE team usually codes with Python whenever we need to write a small program or script.\n\nAs a Site Reliability Engineer at Sketch, you will focus on shaping our cloud infrastructure and make sure all the pieces work well together: development environments, metrics processing and observability, security policies, network design, deployment strategies, high availability, etc. You will work closely with backend, frontend, Mac developers and product managers to guarantee product focussed, smooth engineering processes.\n\nAs an example of one complex project we have worked on lately, we recently migrated our production database from MariaDB to PostgreSQL using streaming replication to minimise the potential downtime and have replicated environments to adapt and test our backend APIs properly.\n\n**About you**\n\nWe look for someone who has experience with different stacks (mainly Linux based), technologies and production models and has participated actively on the build of essential pieces of a cloud platform.\n\nSomeone that knows how to conduct a technical operation that potentially affects users and at the same time can code small applications and scripts to automate the platform and also debug problems in other people's code.\n\nYou care about security, code quality, scalability, performance, and simplicity. Above all, you seek operational excellence and apply the best engineering practices possible. Not everything that you or your team do can be perfect, but you make sure that you always know the trade-offs. You back your decisions with arguments. You don't care for hype and always try to find the best solution and technology for the job and its context.\n\n**Essentials**\n\n* Professional experience managing Linux-based and cloud-native distributed systems in the past\n* Experience coding with high-level programming languages like Python\n* Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, and configuration management tools to automate manual operations\n* A good understanding of the HTTP protocol and the behavior of production web services\n* Excellent communication skills and a good written and spoken English\n* You're based in European / African timezones.\n\n**About Sketch**\n\nSketch is a 100% remote company, and your colleagues are distributed around the globe. Being remote adds great flexibility, and helps us build a more diverse team. We put respect for each other above everything else.\n\nBesides being remote we work asynchronously as often as we can. This means that our team communicates mostly using Slack and GitHub. When we need it, we also have video calls.\n\nOur Technology team has more than 60 people today, split between Mac, Backend, Frontend, Infrastructure and QA. In particular, the Infrastructure team has 6 members. We work in multidisciplinary squads: people from different roles, including members of the Product team, work together on solving problems and delivering functionality to our users.\n\n**We care about your well-being and your professional success, so we offer you**\n\n* Flexibility to organize your own time, no set hours\n* As many vacation days as you need\n* Whatever training you need to develop in your job\n* The laptop you need\n* The option to work anywhere in European/African timezones\n* Company equity\n* Paid family leave \n* An annual company meetup\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

* If you want to help create outstanding educational videos that allow millions of people to improve their iPhone photography\n* If you want to collaborate with world-class content creators, videographers, video editors, and other professionals\n* And if you want to develop a highly-marketable skill set in video content creation\n\n**Then this job could literally change your life!**\n\nBut only if you keep reading.\n\niPhone Photography School is the world's leading resource on iPhone photography. In fact, we're one of the most successful online education companies of any kind. But we're just getting started…\n\nOur ambition is to raise the bar of online course production WAY up. We want to create the world's most engaging, most effective, and most beautiful online courses.\n\nAnd we need your help to do that. That's why we want you to join our team as a video reviewer.\nBut what's in it for you? Why would you want to join us?\n\n**7 Reasons To Join iPhone Photography School As A Video Reviewer**\n\n**1. Help Create Something Truly Beautiful**\n\nMost instructional videos online are plain, static, and often quite boring. That’s not how we approach our courses.\nIf we want our teaching to be effective, our videos have to be as engaging and helpful as possible. We obsess over it.\nBut we don't want to just teach our students. We want to inspire them. We want our videos to be so beautiful every frame looks like an outstanding photograph.\nJoin us, and you'll be helping create something truly beautiful.\n\n**2. Develop A Highly-Marketable Skill Set In Video Content Creation**\n\nWith the rise of new media like Netflix, Youtube and Instagram, video content creation is in higher demand than ever before.\nWe've excelled in this new climate by creating video content that's not only watched and loved, but is also highly profitable.\nIf you want to build skills in video content creation, there is no better place to do it than with us.\n\n**3. Millions Of People Will See And Enjoy Your Work**\n\nHave you ever poured your heart and soul into a project that only a few dozen people ever saw... and even fewer cared about? That can be crushing.\nFortunately, your work with us will reach a huge audience. Millions of people watch our videos. We have hundreds of thousands of paying customers. And every week we receive hundreds of heartfelt thank-you notes from our students.\nJoin us, and you'll be creating something people absolutely love.\n\n**4. Combine Work With Your Passion For Photography**\n\nWould you rather work on something that you don't care about just to pay the bills... or something that you'd be happy to do even if money was not a consideration?\nAt iPhone Photography School, you'll be immersed in the world of photography. Stunning images, breath-taking photography locations and interacting with world-class photographers will be a part of your everyday life.\nYou won't have to balance your work with your passion. Your work will be your passion.\n\n**5. Stability You Can Count On**\n\nMost online ventures have huge ambitions - but little or no revenue. If you've spent months or years of your life in an exciting new project that never really took off, you already know how frustrating it can be.\niPhone Photography School has been highly profitable for years. And our growth is funded from our own revenue.\nYou don't have to worry about the company running out of money.\n\n**6. Stay In Control Over Your Schedule**\n\nMany production teams set unrealistic deadlines for when the video content has to be finalized.\nYou're then forced to put in inhumanely long hours to meet the challenging deadline… Only for a new one to be set immediately after.\nWe don't work like that. We plan for reality, not fantasy. Besides, our production team knows everything they’ll have to do way in advance. And we stick to our plans.\nThis means you can be flexible with your schedule, as long as you get the job done.\n\n**7. Brilliant Teammates**\n\nWe know that talented people like you want to work with other highly talented people.\nOur videographers are top-notch, our on-camera talent is world class, and you'll be working with virtuoso video editors. Everyone on our team is a master of their craft and a pleasure to work with.\nAnd even if you work remotely, you'll get to meet your coworkers in person at our team retreats.\nWe always make these experiences unique. Whether it's rafting through wilderness or sailing to a tiny island in the middle of the sea.\n\n**What Will You Do As A Video Reviewer?**\n\nFirst, let me give you a bit of context on where our company is today…\n\nWe know what makes a captivating video. We know how to plan and execute complex video shoots. And we know how to produce spectacular footage during these shoots.\n\nBut our weak point is in post-production. It's not because we don't know how to do it. We just don't have enough capacity on our team right now. And that's why we need your help.\n\nYour main responsibility will be to review the edits made by our video editors. You'll check the videos for overall flow and feel, any content inconsistencies and technical issues.\n\nYour job will be to make sure that any video we publish is as perfect as it can be.\n\nOver time you are likely to take on more responsibilities. That might include deciding what content goes in each video, planning the shoots of our upcoming courses or monitoring the course recording on-location.\n\n**Here’s What We Expect From You**\n\n* You have an exceptional eye for what makes a photograph or a video clip visually appealing\n* You have flawless attention to detail\n* You are highly organized and structured\n* You have the patience to review videos until they're perfect\n* Relevant professional experience in video production and/or teaching will be considered an advantage\n\nThis is a full-time position. You can do this job from anywhere in the world – including your home, our beautiful office in Riga, Latvia, or any paradise location.\n\n*If you delay submitting your application, someone else will be hired before you.* \n\n#Salary\n$30,000 — $50,000\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

We are Storetasker, a marketplace that connects Shopify business owners with our network of experienced freelance developers, designers, and marketers. More than 30,000 Shopify merchants, including some of the fastest-growing brands in the world, have used Storetasker to hire reliable experts to improve their business. Right now, our customers have more demand for reliable, fast, and efficient Shopify help than ever before, and we can't wait to introduce you. \n\nIf you have used other freelance marketplaces, you’re familiar with all the issues that come with being a freelancer on these platforms: \n\n* Lots of bidding and not a lot of work,\n* A race to the bottom for the lowest prices,\n* Competing against low hourly wages around the world.\n\nWe're a company built by developers and freelancers who know the pain of running a successful freelance business first hand. So, here's our pitch: \n\nNo bidding. We match you with clients who are right for you, so you don’t compete for work. If you accept a job, it's yours. We connect you with the client directly so you can deliver a fair price and project expectations that work for both parties. If you don’t accept a job, no harm, no foul, the client will get matched with someone else.\nSet your own rate. Storetasker Experts scope out costs on a per-project basis, reporting an average of $75 per hour completing projects on our platform. While our Experts vary from full-time Storetaskers to occasional freelancers, the average Expert makes $1,250 a month, with some making over $5k a month.\nLearn new skills and get support from a community of certified experts. \n\nWe interview and personally vet every applicant (that means you!) and hold our Experts to proven standards to help them maximize their earnings. By eliminating competition, we've created a helpful-first community of knowledgable Experts who keep each other on the cutting edge of Shopify development and successful freelance strategies.\n\nGet paid as soon as the project is done. We've built a number of tools to automate and smooth out the payment processing, invoicing, and billing hurdles freelancers often face. We take payment for all projects upfront and hold it in escrow until it’s completed. No more hounding clients for accounts receivable.\n\nIf you: \n* Enjoy solving problems and helping people,\n* Have multiple years of experience helping with website updates and bug fixes in Shopify,\n* Want to put that experience to good use and make between $50 and $100 an hour doing so,\n* Want to work when you want to, from where you want to. No minimum hours and no quotas. Just make the customer happy, then...\n\nWe want to hear from you! \n\nNeed some proof?
