We started Saily, the first app to buy & sell used stuff in 2012. We grew it to 500,000+ users before joining Mercari, the giant mobile marketplace. There we led Product & Growth and IPO’ed in 2018. Six months ago, we built Flyp, an app that connects small businesses to professional sellers who sell their clothing inventory for them. Pros handle pricing, listing, negotiating with buyers, packing and shipping each item, then splitting profits.\n\nWe're a small team of 7, and we're growing fast. We're looking to hire a full-time senior backend engineer to be in charge of our API (Node.js). The engineer will be developing API for our existing mobile app and internal tools, in addition to handling scaling, performance, and security.\n\nWe value attitude over skills. We’re looking for someone to treat this startup as their own, have opinions, be involved in decision making, have a hacker mindset, and be result-driven. Although we’re a remote-first startup, we make sure to have overlapping hours across the team to boost productivity.\n\n[https://www.daniarnaout.com/](https://www.daniarnaout.com/)\n\n[https://www.joinflyp.com/](https://www.joinflyp.com/) \n\n#Salary or Compensation\n$50,000 — $70,000/year\n\n\n#Location\n🇪🇺 EU-only

When you first come on board as an Investment Advisor, you will start learning more about our industry before jumping into the job. First you will learn about the different types of online businesses available for sale on Empire Flippers. Then you will learn about EF Capital. You will become well versed in all of our processes, from how investments are structured down to intricacies of business acquisitions.\n\nOnce you have the basics down, you will use the phone, chat systems, and email to communicate with our customers and will have access to our backend support systems through HubSpot, Zendesk, and our custom software platform. \n\nYou might be wondering, though … what will your daily work routine really look like once you’re up and going?\n\nHere is a list of daily tasks we’ll expect from you (not exhaustive and subject to change):\n\nTake calls with potential operators and answering their questions on how we structure investment deals and how they can participate\nCall potential investors who have expressed interest in investing and guiding them to the next step in our sales funnel\nReturn emails to potential operators or investors who are looking at using our platform, but still have questions about our process\nWork closely with our team to improve marketing based on your conversations with investors and operators \nFigure out ways to improve our existing process to make it a better experience for both investors and operators\nWhile no previous work experience is needed, experience in sales is a big plus. Any background in e-commerce or online business is also helpful. However, we are looking to train the right person, so if you don’t have that experience, don’t let it stop you from applying. \n\nYou must love talking with people. You need to be able to pick up the phone and call someone who doesn’t know you and see how they are doing. This isn’t cold-calling, everyone you call will have expressed some interest in working with EF Capital and have given out their phone number, so they will be familiar with the company. It is your task to make sure they understand our processes and see why we are someone they want to work with.\n\nYou can spot risks and opportunities. Every day, you will speak with investors and entrepreneurs about scaling businesses, liabilities, and how good certain assets are as an investment. Over time, you will need to be able to spot genuine risks and opportunities with online businesses. You will need to be able to confidently tell the entire story behind each potential investment opportunity. While investing in online businesses can bring great returns, it can also be a volatile space to play in.\n\nWe take a consultative approach with customers. We’re not trying to fit square pegs into round holes. We truly believe that the best sales experience includes transparency – which sometimes means letting the customer know why they shouldn’t do the deal. Having that confidence will allow you to be that much more effective and persuasive when the right customer is looking at the right deal.\n\nAlong those lines, we respect our audience’s intelligence by telling them about both the risks and rewards.\n\nYou’re a problem solver. Investing in these businesses can be a very important decision and a very intimate experience for entrepreneurs and operators on the other side of the deal. That means you will face obstacles and challenges. It will be up to you to make sure those challenges are met head-on and solved for all parties in the deal.\n\nWe typically require all new hires to work in-person with their manager for the first 3-6 months to get up to speed quickly and create a close knit group. We will offer an optional 3-month in-person training in Medellin, Colombia with the EF Capital Manager. Again, attending this in-person training is optional and won’t be a hiring requirement. \n\nOur company holds biannual meetups where we gather in a fun location and collaborate over the latest projects and ideas. \nThe role \n\nWe’re looking for a Backend Engineer who cares deeply about building flawless product features while challenging our thinking on software architecture. Someone with a passion for building performant and reliable systems, and that are always up for a challenge.\n\nThis is an opportunity to join a team of talented problem solvers, looking at untangling a complex problem and finding a simple solution. Through your work, you will have a direct impact on how people get paid, by helping us take Pento to the next level and building seamless experiences for our customers.\n\nOur tech stack \n\nWe build and host our application using modern and reliable technologies that our team knows and trusts, including React, GraphQL, Golang, PostgreSQL, Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nWhat will you be doing? \n\n\n* You will research, develop and document new software solutions;\n\n* You will work closely with both product and design to understand our customers' needs and iterate on findings to deliver a great user experience throughout our platform;\n\n* You will collaborate with the product engineering team in an agile manner;\n\n* You will take operational responsibility for the code that you write over the entire software development life cycle;\n\n* You will provide support on our production code, from customer related operations to bug fixing.\n\n\n\n\nWe'd love to hear from you if \n\n\n* You have a few years of professional experience in software engineering, working in a team environment;\n\n* You have experience in backend development, building, running and debugging web applications;\n\n* You are knowledgeable about statically typed programming languages and relational databases, preferably Golang and PostgreSQL;\n\n* You are familiar with defining and building GraphQL APIs;\n\n* You are passionate about writing understandable and testable code.\n\n\n\n\n...or even if you miss experience in some of the technologies mentioned above but are whiling to learn them \n\nWhat can you expect? \n\n\n* Competitive salary;\n\n* Tech and equipment of your choice;\n\n* The opportunity to join an early stage tech company on an incredible trajectory;\n\n* An equity option plan so you can benefit from our success;\n\n* Remote working and flexibility.\n\n\n\n\nWhat it's like working at Pento ‍\n\nWe're a technology company, not an accountancy, payroll bureau, or similar. We build beautiful payroll software that automates all manual workflows and we usually help companies cut 50-80% off the time they spend on payroll. That means no spreadsheets, no e-mails, and no manual bank transfers. We've built an easy-to-use software product, that does all of this automatically.\n\nYou can see a short video by our co-founder and CEO, Jonas, here:\n\n Why now is a really exciting time to join \n\n\n* The UK payroll process hasn’t been disrupted since… ever\n\n* Every company runs payroll, but very few companies are happy with their current process\n\n* Pento makes payroll up to 80% more efficient (we are probably conservative here)\n\n* We already see strong inbound demand from companies all over the UK\n\n* Our customers love Pento - our NPS is above 70 (check our Trustpilot by the way)\n\n\n\n\nOur team \n\nYou can learn more about what we are all about and how we like to work here:\n\nPento Home\n\nWe're a remote-first company and a diverse group of people. We believe in inclusiveness and are committed to building a team as diverse as the people we create our product for, representing a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.\n\nWe welcome applications from everyone – regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, disability, or race.\n\nWe don't believe hiring is a tick boxing exercise, so if you feel you don't match the job description 100%, but would still be a great fit for the role, please get in touch!\n\nWe look forward to hearing from you!

Designed by analysts but built for the entire team (security leadership, risk, security operations, threat intelligence, and incident response), ThreatConnect’s decision and operational support platform is the only solution available today with cyber risk quantification, intelligence, automation, analytics, and workflows in one. To learn more, please visit www.threatconnect.com.\n\nWe offer a competitive benefits package with comprehensive insurance coverage, paid time off, and unique perks designed to help you meet your financial and personal goals.\n\nWe are committed to offering an employment experience and benefits package that enables you and your family to grow with us and to share in our success. We love to recognize our employees who have gone above and beyond, and offer incentives like quarterly awards, an employee bonus and referral program, and team-building outings.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe DevOps team at ThreatConnect is searching for an Engineer to join us. We are a multi-functional team that works with both internal and customer-facing groups to deliver world-class service 24x7 for our global clients. You're a team player who puts the interest of the team above your own. You display a positive attitude, are open, and enjoy contributing.\n\nYou’re not afraid to ask questions. DevOps is a broad field, and no single person can know all of it. When you hit a brick wall, you’re unafraid to reach out to your colleagues and ask for their perspective.\n\nYou love fixing things. There’s nothing more satisfying than closing 30 browser tabs and setting the ticket status to “Done”. Unless it’s watching the metrics flow into Grafana as you’ve confirmed the system is back online.\n\n\n\nIn this role you’ll get to...\n\n\n* work on something different on a daily basis\n\n* work on a team where every member has a voice\n\n* be creative in technical solutions for internal and customer-facing problems\n\n* collaborate with and learn from a helpful team with a diverse range of technical skills\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1-3-6-12 Month Plan\n\nDuring the first month we’ll expect you to…\n\n\n* Get onboarded and train with your supervisor\n\n* Get acclimated into the role\n\n* Understand the tools and different stakeholders\n\n* Know how to set up your own ThreatConnect instance\n\n* Shadow and partner with team members on tickets, upgrades, and alerts\n\n\n\n\nAt 3 months we’ll expect you to…\n\n\n* Take on a 2nd shift once per week from 3 p.m. to midnight Eastern. # Role\nThe main responsibility for this position is to produce high quality code and shape together with the team the best practices for the frontend applications to manage complex data structures in component state using React-Redux. Also an important part of the job is to interact with our designer to create pixel perfect UIs according to design specs.\n\nIn this role you will be working as part of a small and highly effective cross functional team, where most developers have a full stack understanding of the technical challenges.\n\nAs a main frontend developer in the team, you will be part of all major technical decisions, shaping the best frontend practices and creating new features for the web app by deploying code to production regularly.\n\n# What we are looking for\nWe are looking for a passionate React Engineer that wants to own and help shape our web application for the construction industry. You should have a good understanding of web technologies and the different challenges of web development, having previously developed several production applications. We expect a strong intimacy with JavaScript, as our application runs mainly in React, Redux and Typescript. Previous experience on that stack is mandatory. Another important point is having a deep understanding of developing with REST APIs, with a bonus of being willing to get your hands dirty also on improving backend APIs when needed.\n\nWe believe in a growing and learning mindset, where developers are ready to face new challenges, and learn new technologies when needed. Thus, having the right skills and a positive attitude to learning, is more important for us than the degree. A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject is relevant, as we value an understanding of the fundamentals, but it’s not a prerequisite.\n\nWe define ourselves as an agile company, so being open for feedback and adapting to change is core to being a good fit to our team. Our company's working language is English, in which we expect all candidates to effectively communicate (written and spoken).\n\nIn this role, we also value interest in keeping up to date with the latest trends and to share knowledge about best frontend practices with the team.\n\nThis position is open for fully remote, but has a requirement of being **located in the EU**.\n\n# What we offer\nYou will be part of an amazing journey to transform the construction industry with a bold and caring team. Along this path, we will challenge each other, have difficult open conversations, and develop as we learn.\n\nIn addition to the above, we will also take care of you and provide you with the right challenges for growth. Some of our benefits:\n\n* Paid time off (25 vacation days per year)\n* Flexible working hours\n* Full remote possible\n* Share options program\n* Company gatherings twice a year (in person when possible again)\n\n# Location\n**EU**\n\n# Catenda\nCatenda is a Norwegian scale-up company with a global ambition to make the construction industry data-driven, with less waste and greater transparency along the way.\n\nOur company values are two, easy to remember: *Openness* and *Quality*.\n\nWe believe in open standards for all our customer data to achieve interoperability between applications, from inception, through design and construction onto the maintenance of a building. Another core belief is that our customers should have full control over their data: all data that goes in, can also be exported out.\n\nWe value quality of the code and the product by working as a tight and effective distributed development team, preferably asynchronously, often sharing screens to collaborate. Catenda has offices in Oslo and Bergen, composed by an international team of 10+ nationalities working remotely across the EU.\n\nOur solution, Bimsync, is a cloud-based collaboration platform, consisting of a web application, a mobile application and our APIs. Many companies across the world are using our products to build better airports, hospitals, stadiums, homes, tunnels and roads.\n\nOur technology stack runs 100% on AWS, using the most appropriate technology for the problem at hand. Our backend is mostly in Java and frontend in Javascript, using React, Typescript and React Native for our mobile app (iOS and Android).\n \n\n#Salary or Compensation\n$70,000 — $90,000/year\n\n\n#Location\nEu

Our company has the rare distinction in this era of money-burning startups of being both investor-backed and comfortably profitable. We're a small team of geeks with art and heart, and a high bar for quality.\nTo deliver our magic to customers and their audiences, we build software that is scalable, flexible and most importantly reliable.  We engineer and build software not only to support our own architecture, but to host and maintain content for our customers.
