\nWhat are we all about?\n\nWe are a team of builders and researchers on a mission to empower enterprises and developers worldwide to access and build on decentralized systems.\n\nOur expertise covers several domains: Ethereum and Starknet protocol engineering, layer-2, cryptography research, protocol research, decentralized finance (DeFi), security auditing, formal verification, real-time monitoring, smart contract development, and dapps and enterprise engineering.\n\nWorking to solve some of the most challenging problems in the blockchain space, we frequently collaborate with, such as Ethereum Foundation, Starknet Foundation, Gnosis Chain, Flashbots, Forta Protocol, Lido, EigenLayer, Open Zeppelin, RISCZero, Aleph Zero, and many more.\n\nToday, there are nearly 200 of us working remotely from over 45+ countries.\n\nView all our open positions here: https://www.nethermind.io/open-roles\n\n\n\n\n\nAre you the one?\n\nStarknet is the fastest-growing network in terms of new developers joining the network. Nethermind builds many developer-facing tools that need to work seamlessly in this fast-paced blockchain. This ecosystem needs contributors with quality-mindset, capable of applying their craftsmanship and systematic creativity to improve its components. Do you have what it takes?\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* R&D working culture\n\n* Development of scalable, high availability, and low-latency architectures\n\n* Implement optimization algorithms to improve code generation and execution efficiency.\n\n* Collaborate with software engineers and architects to integrate compiler technologies into larger software systems.\n\n* Analyze and debug compiler-generated code to ensure correctness\n\n* Contribute to the documentation of compiler design, implementation, and usage.\n\n* Participate actively in code reviews, providing valuable insights and feedback to peers.\n\n* Opportunity to work with the top software engineers and research professionals to solve the toughest technical challenges\n\n* Working with the latest tools and technologies\n\n* Troubleshooting\n\n\n\n\nSkills:\n\n\n* Ability to implement efficient algorithms and design complex data structures\n\n* Excellent programming skills, Go or Rust preferred but will also consider other tech stacks (e.g. Java, C++)\n\n* Experience with compiler construction tools such as Lex, Yacc, LLVM, GCC, or similar.\n\n* Strong understanding of compiler architecture, principles, and optimization techniques.\n\n* Familiarity with assembly language programming and debugging.\n\n* Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code without over-engineering\n\n* An entrepreneurial nature, willing to take ownership and run toward problems\n\n* Several years of experience in software development\n\n* Awareness of cloud-based computing environments (eg. AWS)\n\n* Strong computer science background, including knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and operating systems concepts.\n\n* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.\n\n\n\n\nNice to have:\n\n\n* Performance and memory optimisations\n\n* Awareness of blockchain / EVM / TransactionPool / JSON RPC\n\n* Knowledge of zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) and their integration into Starknet or similar platforms.\n\n* Cryptography\n\n* Knowledge of parallel programming paradigms and techniques.\n\n* Experience with dynamic analysis tools for performance profiling and optimization.\n\n* Understanding of formal methods and compiler verification techniques.\n\n* Familiarity with virtual machine architectures and execution models\n\n\n\n\nExamples of projects the team has worked on:\n\n\n* Transpiler from Solidity to Cairo\n\n* Virtual Machine in Go for Cairo code\n\n* Compiler to convert Sierra code to machine code via MLIR and LLVM\n\n* Integration with elements of Starknet ecosystem (eg.
